This place is great! Lots of wildlife (deer, squirrels, chipmunks, birds, bugs), lots of trees and plants, a couple water areas, wooden walkways, carvings, and very few mosquitoes (today, anyway). The visitor center was not open today, so we didn't get to see what was inside, but we will return again in the future. Very peaceful walk with enough to see to make us want to come back.

Mesmerizing trails manicured beautifully. Doesn't matter the season, it's always gorgeous here. Great for running, biking, walking, people watching, or my favourite animal watching. Since it's a nature pressurve deer get within inches of you...so cool! 😀

Very scenic trail that goes around a small but beautiful lake! Some of trails are board walks and others natural. This is an awesome place to visit just to listen to nature and take in the fresh air. There's a visitor center and bathrooms inside.

Earth week events were happening and lots of volunteers were there. I had plenty of parking space, bike racks were available. 2 bathrooms were very clean and warm on a very windy cold day. Lots of restoration projects are ongoing within the park and will one day look very beautiful given a little time for the plants to grow.

Well maintained trail. Easy loops for good walking. Wildlife all around.

This keeps coming up on my dog friendly hike searches. It's definitely not dog friendly, and the alternate route is basically walking on the side of the road. That aside it is a beautiful location and very well maintained. Although I don't see the point of a trail without a furry friend so you won't see me there very often 😂

Beautiful place with tons of fresh air - there's mushrooms, spores, moss, and lots of ground leaves right now. We were trying to get to Green Circle Trailhead but Google navigated us to a private residence. This is the spot you want to travel to in order to get to that trail. Couple things to note before planning a trip: - no pets unless you walk along the street - no drones - this should go without saying, but no collecting

A huge thank you to the Friends of Schmeeckle, who brought the delightful Tom Pease to the reserve to entertain our children and grandchildren during their last week of summer. We danced and sang in the lovely amphitheater and found some joy!

I love Schmeeckle Reserve great trails very peaceful and relaxing and the staff is amazing I live in Wisconsin Rapids it's a great getaway for a few hours the candle light walks are so fun to do when they do those being in nature is the best and this place doesn't feel like your in the city!

Nice little preserve close to town. Several docile deer

Simply one of the best spots in Stevens Point to go for a hike, run, or bike. I especially like going up North point Rd. by the Sentry Golf Course at sunrise to run with the deer. The city does an excellent job maintaining and keeping it litter free. The wildlife here is abundant and well protected

A wondrous retreat and educational area to visit. A great place for a nice nature walk, jog, bike, or kayak/canoe. Very well kept walking paths with plenty of things to see and learn about. Children should be closely monitored to insure they don't excessively disturb the area or its animals.

Beautiful park all year. Nice paths for all experiences. Wonderful maps and path marking so you know where you are. For sure a must in fall!

A beautiful walking trail to see the fall colors and enjoy nature at its best.

It is obviously a nature preserve, and it has wild animals in it, so do not be shocked if you accidently stubble across a snake in here. I have not been here during the winter, so I can only speak about spring, summer, and fall. The condition of the paths is normally well taken care of, but the leaves and eventual snow will lead to some slippery situations. There are a few spots to sit, nearby the scenic areas. The visitors/gift shop is pretty nice, nothing too corporate for a localized area.

We just went inside the store and the small museum here. They had some nice souvenirs. We didn't walk the trails, but it looked beautiful here!

It was my first time here. It has some current construction at the main parking lot but easy to navigate. The variety of trails and scenery is very pretty. Didn’t get to explore the whole thing but will be back at some point!

Easy, well-signed accessible trails with many beaches, natural beauty and the best nature center with real history and tributes honoring Wisconsin heroes.

Such a beautiful place. Plenty if well marked, easy walking trails. Public bathrooms and a gift shop. There is a large area with benches and tables you can reserve. Plenty of wildlife to see while walking.
