We
visited
on
a
cold,
dull
and
overcast
afternoon
just
before
Christmas.
As
we
pulled
into
the
car
park
the
smell
of
the
log
fire
was
very
welcoming.
We
booked
to
be
on
the
safeside
and
were
shown
to
a
cosy
table
in
the
corner
of
the
main
bar.
The
fire
was
blazing
and
the
Christmas
tree
lights
were
twinkling
away.
The
staff
were
friendly,
polite
and
welcoming.
We
were
given
three
menus;
a
sandwich/snacks
menu,
a
specials
menu
and
the
main
menu.
All-in-all
around
twenty
main
courses
which
included
3
vegetarian
and
5
gluten
free
dishes.
So
a
really
good
selection
and
choice
of
mains.
We
both
decided
to
have
the
lamb
suet
pudding
with
seasonal
vegetables
with
gravy.
We
were
then
given
a
pudding/desert
chalkboard
for
our
desert
menu.
Again
a
good
choice
of
about
six
or
seven;
almost
all
with
the
option
of
cream,
custard
or
ice
cream.
For
deserts
we
chose
the
apple
and
blueberry
crumble
with
fresh
cream.
To
finish
up
a
strong
Lilly
espresso
coffee.
A
relaxing
three
hours
spent
enjoying
the
Christmas
atmosphere
and
the
beautiful
log
fire.
Certainly
a
good
choice
for
our
dinner
and
somewhere
that
we'll
visit
again
in
the
new
year.
