We visited on a cold, dull and overcast afternoon just before Christmas. As we pulled into the car park the smell of the log fire was very welcoming. We booked to be on the safeside and were shown to a cosy table in the corner of the main bar. The fire was blazing and the Christmas tree lights were twinkling away. The staff were friendly, polite and welcoming. We were given three menus; a sandwich/snacks menu, a specials menu and the main menu. All-in-all around twenty main courses which included 3 vegetarian and 5 gluten free dishes. So a really good selection and choice of mains. We both decided to have the lamb suet pudding with seasonal vegetables with gravy. We were then given a pudding/desert chalkboard for our desert menu. Again a good choice of about six or seven; almost all with the option of cream, custard or ice cream. For deserts we chose the apple and blueberry crumble with fresh cream. To finish up a strong Lilly espresso coffee. A relaxing three hours spent enjoying the Christmas atmosphere and the beautiful log fire. Certainly a good choice for our dinner and somewhere that we'll visit again in the new year.

Brilliant find. Wonderful pub with great dining. Make sure you reserve a table. Gets busy. Excellent rooms and really comfortable. Superb breakfast.

Lovely country pub, food was great, really nice selection of both beers and menu choices, although it did take a fair while to arrive. The setting is beautiful on the edge of a wooded Valley. Staff were great. I suspect they've often been stung by non payers so have to be super careful, but they just refuse tabs, point blank. I do think the offer of placing our credit card behind the bar should be enough security for setting up of a tab, it was just awkward for our party without one.

A good traditional country pub and handy stop for some of the great local walks. Open fires, dog-friendly and nice food.

If you are looking for a stay kinda close to Cirencester for less than the prices at there, absolutely recommended. We got so much more than expected! An absolute hidden gem, so so lovely little inn in a atunning location, friendly staff and (unexpectedly) incredible good food with so many vegan / gf options! Really cozy, amazing service. The rooms are nothing especially fancy but it definitely gives you a more than pleasant stay. All of this with a really great price. Well done!

Lovely Sunday roast spoiled by Hooray Henry's at the next table rude loud and swearing (children present)that should have been asked to leave. The only criticism of the meal would be hot plates please.

Delicious food and an incredibly cosy pub feel. It’s so rare to get numerous roaring open fires in a pub but we absolutely loved the atmosphere and will be back!
