Pabst Mansion is fun detour from from downtown. It’s about a 2 mile walk from the Third Ward. The volunteers were very nice and informative. We did the self guided tour with the brochure, which was perfect. We really loved the craftsmanship, furniture, art, and fixtures which were from the house or the period. I highly recommend the trip is your visiting Milwaukee!

Our tour was delayed one hour due to weather (13JAN2024) but it was an amazing tour and home. Our guide, David, was extremely knowledgeable and fun to talk with. The level of detail and innovation in a home from the late 1800s is simply astounding. The history is extremely interesting.

It's a bit pricey, but the tour was well worth the cost. Beautiful mansion--and they are really coming along with the restoration--and an interesting story. Also some free parking. Guided tour lasted an hour and fifteen minutes.

Truly a unique place with an interesting history. It's worth the minor admission fee by far. Once we left, I learned my great grandmother worked there as a servant for the Pabst family.

The mansion is really pretty, we saw it while the Christmas decorations were up. I'm not sure if I'd go to see it without the decorations. Staff was very nice and drinks were good. My only complaint is that the tour place is not attached to the mansion, so you need to walk about a half block. I only didn't like this because the weather was bad.

This was a very nice experience. Well worth the price of admission. The tour guide was friendly, pleasant, and knowledgable. The tour was absolutely beautiful. We were able to see the mansion the was it was back in the day. The decor and craftsmanship was beyond fabulous! I would definitely recommend taking the tour of the Pabst Mansion if you are in Milwaukee, WI and have an hour to spare.

A great historical place to tour. Some dates have guided tour, others are self-guided. You may want to reserve in advance as they cap max people by time slot for covid reasons. Through early January they have it decorated for Christmas, too. Amazing art, architecture, and decorations. You can easily spend an hour going through the 3 stories. Worth a tour and donations.

This Mansion has been beautifully preserved/restored and is a true gem. Booked tours are well priced and well worth doing. The history of this place is very interesting. We loved our visit!

Pabst Mansion is a fantastic view into the luxurious lifestyle of the wealthy at the end of the 1800s. The restoration and care for the property must be the result of a lot of hard work. The story of the Pabst is one of the American Dream. Worth the stop.

We did the mimosa tour. The mansion was amazing. It felt like I warped into an episode of Dowton Abbey. Mary Anne was an incredible tour guide. Super knowledgeable and great personality. Great experience!!

The Twilight tour was phenomenal. This mansion is gorgeous. Detail, detail, detail. Very knowledgeable workers. We learned a lot tonight about the mansion, history of the family, while looking at the beautiful interior decor. Thank you

Very nicely restored mansion. Tour guide was very knowledgeable about the house history as well as the family history. Great tour! Woodwork on the inside is extremely detailed. Definitely recommend a docent guided tour so you don't miss anything.

We had a great tour with a really knowledgeable tour guide named Peter. He was very thorough and told the history of the mansion and family, artwork and other interesting details. The hour flew by! My only gripe is that signage isn't clear when you get there on where to park or check in. Typically, you end a tour in the gift shop but in this tour you check in there and it is in a separate building. But that detail is minimal and didn't affect our great experience.

When I decided for the kids and I to go here I had no idea he was a beer baron. I don't drink so I don't really care about those things. I wanted to go because it was an old, well crafted 20000 Sq ft house, and I am an Architecture and detailed craftsman geek. And it did not disappoint. I want to mention that this place is a medium on the price scale, and if you have children not used to standing nicely and being quiet for an hour + then this might not be a good stop. But if you are an adult looking to be both educated and entertained than this is the place for you.

We did a self guided tour in a little under an hour. Tickets are purchased at the gift shop in a nearby building and then you enter the mansion. It's 3 floors and we had a little brochure to help guide us. There isn't much more to it than a peek through an affluent historical home, similar to the Vanderbilt or such on a smaller scale. It's neat to walk through and see all the attention to detail and period decorations.

What a wonderful look back in time! Having such a “house museum” sheds light on what it was like living in a prior century! The first floor has almost all original artifacts. The art collection is stunning. The tour guide was so knowledgeable and friendly! You start in the visitor center next door and if you’re early they will show a short documentary on life in the era of the Beer Barons! Lots of cool little things to buy in the gift shop as well. This is worth the trip.

A beautiful historical monument of a bygone area. Tickets for classic guided tours or self-guided can be purchased online in advance. The docents are very knowledgeable and so informative, I would suggest the group led tour for the full experience.

Unfortunately, after visiting other great places in Milwaukee we came too late for the tour that day. However, we explored the grounds and souvenir shop. Very beautiful mansion with European character of the 19c beer king.

Great little piece of preserved history. Just know there have been multiple renovations and restorations. Does not deter from the experience though, and all of the rooms and furnishings are well enough preserved. Behind the scenes tour (2 hours long) is really the best tour you can do. This tour has lots of stairs though in tight areas, since you take servant pathways. Very cool to see that and the basement/attic. May come back around Christmas time, since I hear they decorate well.

I went on a guided tour of the Pabst Mansion with my parents visiting from out of town. My father is a huge history buff and this was like heaven for him. The guide we had was so informative and knew all the smallest details it’s seems about everyone who lived in the house at some point or anyone who interacted with the family. The staff are super friendly and if you go on a tour, make sure to look around for a dragon in the house, if you take a picture of it you get a little token for a free beer on your next tour!

The Mansion main floor and second floor are mostly restored now. It is quite ornate. We took the guided tour which is same price as self guided tour and glad we did. The Pabst lived in this house later in life.

Well worth the time to tour. The mansion is very beautiful. Our docent, Regan was very entertaining and knowledgeable. You can drink Pabst during the tour! 🍺 Available at the visitor center/gift shop

We did the Mimosa tour and it was fabulous! The room we’re beautifully decorated, the young lady that gave us the tour was AMAZING, and we were able to go back to the rooms when our tour was done to see them again and take pictures. I would highly recommended this holiday tour!

The Docent did a great job of making Pabst Mansion come alive as he shared relevant history and anecdotes of Captain and Mrs Pabst's life in Milwaukee. The tour encompassed all three floors, including the servants' work areas and the prepare area. Architectural details inside and out are breathtaking. The tour took about an hour and was well worth it. There is no need to buy tickets in advance in most circumstances.

Beautiful mansion! The craftsmanship is marvelous. The restoration of this home was done with such effort and care that you truly have to see it to appreciate it. Excellent tour guide. He really cared about the mansion and gave detailed information.

Visiting this mansion was an incredible experience. While it differed from the visit to Abraham Lincoln's home, it provided a glimpse into the lavish lifestyle of the wealthy during that era. If my memory serves me right, this house boasted all the modern amenities of its time. One fascinating highlight was their impressive collection of 3000 wines, carefully stored in their cellar. Unfortunately, Pabst's time in this magnificent residence was cut short, as he passed away at the age of 62. However, when you step foot into this house, you can't help but feel transported back to that era, appreciating every aspect of the way things were done. On a slightly negative note, the $16 ticket price per person felt a bit steep. Nonetheless, I assure you that the experience is worth it, as you immerse yourself in the opulence and charm of a bygone era.

Purchasing tickets online was easy and saved us time upon arrival. Check in was as easy as scanning my QR code. We took the self guided Christmas at the Pabst tour which featured a different theme in every room. There was no nook left untouch. The historic architecture and design were impressive on its own, but the opulent Christmas decor was just stunning. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. There were interesting facts in every room. Lots of reading materials if you opt for self guided tour so you weren't completely lost. A must see for any history, architecture or design enthusiast. An accessible elevator is available. Overflow parking, drinks and snacks in the foyer/lobby are some of the accommodations available. Would be a great tour to do alone, with group or as a family. Gift shop located at the Marq just west of tge mansion

The people in the house were so friendly and very knowledgeable. The Christmas decorations were gorgeous! My only issue was my own expectations: I thought, if we were getting a guided tour, there wouldn’t be so many closed doors. Storage? Empty closet? Office space? But I guess this was a Christmas tour - and that was totally awesome!

We booked the Behind the Scenes Tour and it was excellent. Our Guide, Peter Drenzek, was wonderful. He was extremely knowledgeable, easy to listen to, and obviously passionate about the Pabst Mansion and its history.

This is a must if you’re visiting Milwaukee or if you’re a local. It’s a trip back in time to slower days when Wisconsin Avenue was lined with majestic homes like the Pabst. I highly recommend visiting during the holidays, when it’s decorated as it was for Captain Pabst’s last Christmas.
