My
issues
with
the
Gurukul
Summer
Camp
2022,
April
15th
-
30th
are
as
follows:
1.
Bath
:
Whether
or
not
kids
play
outdoors,
showering
everyday
is
important.
Having
played
outdoors
every
single
day
in
this
scorching
heat,
kids
have
showered
only
3-4
times
in
15
days.
They
could
have
at
least
showered
in
the
evening
before
retiring
to
bed.
There
was
no
place
to
hang
clothes
when
going
for
a
shower
2.
Hitting
&
Language
:
My
son
has
complained
of
the
coaches
hitting
him
with
a
cane
&
whistle
on
his
back,
holding
him
by
his
collar,
slapping
him
for
not
knowing
Kannada.
The
coaches
were
Govind,
Manthe,
Aradhay
and
Arun
who
have
misbehaved
with
him.
No
one
has
the
right
to
raise
their
hand
on
our
childern.
It's
worse
because
they
are
strangers
and
children
are
kept
away
from
parents.
They
are
already
insecured
and
scared.
Language
used
on
my
son
:
I'll
Kill
You,
I'll
Slap
You,
Scaring
them
by
saying
You'll
not
go
home
My
son
has
been
sick
last
5
days
and
we
were
not
informed.
3.
Cooking,
Art,
Farming,
Journal
Writing
&
Touching
Earthworms
:
All
this
was
mentioned
on
the
Summer
Camp
Pamphlet
(except
Journal
Writing)
and
by
Susheela
during
the
Orientation
Program.
Children
would
have
been
engaged
indoors
for
some
time
at
least
this
way
and
it
could
have
been
very
interesting
&
enjoyable
for
all
of
them.
Journal
Writing
is
very
important
for
a
child.
They
would
have
penned
down
everything
they
did
and
how
they
felt.
4.
Bathrooms
:
Bathrooms
were
very
filthy.
There
were
cockroaches
coming
out
of
the
drain
and
in
the
sink.
There
was
vomit
in
the
sink
which
wasn't
cleaned.
5.
Outdoor
Activities
:
There
were
too
many
outdoor
activities
for
the
kids
every
single
day.
They
should
have
had
a
balance
of
both
Indoor
and
Outdoor
activities
maybe
on
alternate
days.
Kids
were
exhausted,
not
allowed
to
drink
water
whenever
they
wanted
except
once.
6.
Strength
of
the
Camp
:
Unlike
the
previous
year
which
had
30-40
children,
they
had
90
kids
enrolled
this
year.
They
should
have
had
2
batches
and
managed
it
better.
7.
Bedding
:
Sleeping
on
the
floor
with
Zamkhana
was
not
informed
earlier
until
we
attended
the
orientation
program.
They
should
have
provided
a
very
thin
mattress
so
that
children
could
have
rested
properly.
My
son
said
if
he
didn't
sleep
well
because
the
floor
is
so
hard
and
his
back
was
hurting,
how
could
he
have
energy
to
do
anything
the
next
day.
8.
Food
:
Mostly
rasam
rice
was
served,
he
didn't
get
an
extra
roti
when
he
asked
them.
Snacks
-
only
one
/
two
small
fruits
were
given
and
no
second
helping
served.
This
is
after
playing
outdoors
for
several
hours.
Over
all
it
has
been
really
tough
for
him
and
he
is
a
bag
of
bones
now.
He
is
tired
all
day
long.
