We had 1 additional day to spend in Mindelo and the dive center was very helpful getting us on next day’s afternoon dive. Dive boat & equipment is all in perfect condition while the team was very patient taking us through the steps again…so we felt very relaxed start to finish. Can recommend 100%!

Amazing diving school! We did our PADI with Felipa and she is the most patient and relaxed teacher you can imagine. On our dives we saw a huge manta-ray (although they are quite rare), two turtles, a school of barracuda's, quite a few small moray eels, a lobster, manta shrimps and a lot of other crazy fish. With Felipa you feel safe and secure at all times and she continuously points out when there's something fun to see. Lastly they also have the best between-dive-cookies P.s. also nice, it's just a 5 minute drive to the boat, and within 20 minutes you are at the first diving spot. P.p.s. the location isn't represented greatly on Google Maps, go to Oasis Hotel and ask for them

My wife and I went for a DSD and two fun dives with Filipa and her team and it was great. Everyone was professional, kind and caring. The equipment was good and functional. The divesites offered a lot of marine life and were not crowded at all. We enjoyed it very much. Highly recommended!

Did our advanced open water diver with haliotis dive centre and we had the best time! Fabio did his very best to provide great dives while taking into account the best and most safe circumstances. Would definitely dive with them again!

We went diving with Filipa and she was great! She explains it all properly and showed us all kinds of great places and some rare animals. They even arranged a boat and skipper because there own had delays with maintenance. They got quite far out for the divespot, just for the two of us. Equipment and location are good.

We went with Haliotis for two dives (half-day excursion by boat) and for a snorkelling trip with turtles. On both occasions, we had an amazing time, marine life in São Vicente is so rich and beautiful, and still quite "untouched" compared to many other places. It was definitely the highlight of our holiday! Filipa and Fabio are incredibly professional, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The centre is located inside a hotel, it's well equipped, and it's everything very well organised, from the transport to the equipment rental. If you are in São Vicente, this is definitely an experience not to miss (even if you don't have your diving license yet)!

Me and my Girlfriend went for a trip of 2 hours to watch turtles in S. Pedro beach. We had an amazing experience, with the Haliotis team and local fisherman. Filipa instructed us about safety and told us all about this green turtles. You Guys should try.

I had the chance to spend three beautiful and enriching days with Haliotis to pass my PADI Open Water Certification. From the first to the last minute, I really enjoyed the experience with Fabio and the rest of the crew. In addition to learning many diving skills, I had the opportunity to discover a marine ecosystem that is much richer, more colorful and varied than I expected. And cherry on the cake: we saw a Manta Ray passing just above us while doing some exercices... I am so delighted that I am already considering to come back next year to pass my PADI Advanced Open Water certificate.

Great dive center and great experience. Everything is orderly, the briefings are to the point and they let you feel at ease. The dive spots are nice. We spotted big stingrays, lots of moray eels, different species of lobster and a lot more. On the way to our first dive spot we spotted a nice pod of dolphins. The boat ride can be a bit bumpy due to big waves. I would really recommend them if you are in Mindelo!

Very friendly staff and reassuring dive instructors! Be prepared for a bumpy boat ride, as the sea gets really rough, but also some beautiful dives. We saw a pod of dolphins on our way to the dive site, and during the dive a lot of fish, colourful slugs, lobsters, muray eels and a giant sting ray.

It was a pleasure to do my advanced open water course with Haliotis. Fabio was a perfect instructor and i had also the enjoyment to meet the other people of the team. I can definitely recommend this diving center, you are in experienced and professionell hands. It was a lot of fun, thank you.

Excellent dive centre, highly recommended. Young team creates a great diving experience: safety, respect for nature, good equipment, good atmosphere. Filipa and Fábio are great instructors and very kind people, just like the local skipper. Lunch between dives could be improved (some fresh fruit besides the delicious cookies? 😁)

Professional, friendly and lots of fun! Did 6 dives with them as well as a day of instruction in the pool and it was flawless. Excellent dive instructors, skippers, dive sites and of course cookies. They are patient teachers, fun to hang around with in between dives, take safety seriously and most importantly respect the dive sites!

I went on four dive trips (two dives per trip) with Haliotis Mindelo, and it was fantastic. The crew is professional, ensuring everything was well-organized and enjoyable. I felt safe and had a lot of fun with the team - their positive energy is contagious! They made sure all divers felt comfortable, and their passion for diving was evident, enhancing the entire experience. The dive spots were amazing, with breathtaking underwater scenery and diverse marine life (including plenty of turtles, a nurse shark, lobster, frog fishes and plenty more). Each dive was unique and memorable, thanks to the crew's expertise and guidance. They ensure you get the most out of your experience. The equipment was in great shape, and the boat is well-maintained. There are plenty of different dive spots to explore, including a really impressive wreck dive. The dive snack on board is great too: addictive cookies made by a bakery! I highly recommend Haliotis Mindelo to anyone and hope to come back one day!

We snorkeled with Filipa and five sea turtles last week, out of the dive center in Mindelo. I will always remember this magical experience. The green sea turtles were not shy and we had plenty of time to enjoy them. We also saw two big rays skimming the sand below us. Filipa was attentive to us guests, making sure we had a memorable experience. The gear was good -- no leaks in mask and the wet suit and flippers fit well.

Had an amazing time, thanks to the lovely people of Haliotis. Very friendly, patient, a lot of knowledge, and gave me a feeling of being safe. I did a snorkel trip with them and my first introduction dive. It was all a magical experience ✨ Thank you💜 Visit them when you get the chance 😁

We went on two dives with Haliotis and couldn't have been more impressed. Everyone was so kind and helpful and took such great care of us. The rental equipment was in excellent condition and they set us up with individual mesh bags which was very convenient. The dives were gorgeous and we were given water and snacks during our surface interval. We were so impressed with the whole operation and really enjoyed the dives - lots of beautiful fish, turtles, octopus, nudis, scorpionfish, mantis shrimp, etc. Thank you so much to Fabio, Filipa, Pica, and Danny for a wonderful day!

Op 26 en 27 november heb ik hier 2 dagen gedoken en mijn vrouw 1 dag gesnorkeld. Een professioneel team maar ook met gevoel voor humor en plezier, bestaande uit o.a. Fábio, Danny, Pika en nog 2 mensen waarvan ik de namen niet heb onthouden. Alles was goed voorbereid, helder uitgelegd, goede apparatuur en daarmee was de bodem gelegd voor een viertal mooie duiken waarin veel te zien was. See turtles (if you don’t see them, they are no-see turtles 😜), pijlstaartroggen, morenen, krabben, slakken en veel mooi koraal. Dank voor de mooie ervaringen en hopelijk tot een volgende keer!

A very professional, efficient, and very cool team, trying to find the best spot of the day considering weather and ocean conditions. THE KIND OF PLACE YOU DON'T WANT TO LEAVE We spend one and a half week scuba diving with the crew from Haliotis diving center and it was a blast! We felt welcome from the very moment we walked in the little dive shop and met the instructors Fabiò and Philipa. Everything has been prepared for us in advance, we just had to jump in our wetsuit, which are in very good condition like all the equipment they have. We also had the chance to dive with Dani and Picka, the two Capverdian divemasters. They have the eye to always find interesting marine life and and the other to make sure you're alright and safe. Even in current we always felt in good hands and taken care of at any time. All in all we had an amazing time with this professional and fun diving team. We would come back and dive with them any time. Thanks each and every of you for making our holidays so unforgettable ! Jule & Malou

We went to Haliotis Dive Center based on Google Search. I wanted to dive and my four friends wanted to do snorkelling. It was a little hustle to find the right place in the beginning but once we asked the guy at the entrance of the Oasis hotel we were guided to the right spot. The communication with the instructors was smooth an stress free right from the start until the very end when we said our good byes. It was a pleasure to be part of the dive trip because dive instructors and boat crew were really friendly and they really like what they do and which is also important, they do care about the sea environment. On the way to the dive spot the sea was very calm, we were having a very pleasant ride and suddenly the boat crew saw something in the water. We made a quick U-turn with the boat and we were exceptionally lucky to see about 20-30 dolphins swimming along the boat and jumping out of the water. It was a thrilling experience since I haven't seen dolphins in the wild. I went for a two dives which were smooth and enjoyable with many fish to see. My other four friends went to snorkelling on the shallower water. And we were again really lucky that we saw a sea turtle. To sum up it was a great day for us with great people.

I did the Advanced Open Water course with Fàbio from Haliotis Dive Center Mindelo and it was great fun! The Staff were all very friendly and the instruction was good aswell as insightful. The marine life was exceptional and it is possible to see turtles, sharks and many other animals that you might not see in most places.

Direkt am Pool des "Oasis Grand Port" Hotels gelegen (durchaus empfehlenswert), ist die Basis für etwa 10 Taucher ausgelegt. Das Team kommt teilweise aus Portugal und ist teilweise einheimisch, Verständigung auf Englisch kein Problem. Praktisch ist, dass wir bei der Buchung der Tauchgänge gleich das Hotel mitbuchen konnten, und uns Haliotis am Flughafen abholte. Noch vor dem Einchecken im Hotel wurden uns die Abläufe erklärt, und wir konnten unsere Ausrüstung gleich auspacken und in bereitgestellte, nummerierte Netztaschen einordnen. Am nächsten Morgen um 8 ging es los: Anzug bis zur Hüfte anziehen und ca. 350m bis zur Marina gehen, wo schon das Boot und unsere Ausrüstung, sowie die Tauchflaschen auf dem Steg auf den Zusammenbau warteten. Das klappte alles reibungslos und wirkte eingespielt und gut organisiert. Am ersten Tag waren 12 Tauchgäste im Boot, sodass es sehr eng war. An den Tagen darauf war das nicht mehr so. Am Tauchplatz angekommen, wurden erst einmal Wind uns Strömung gründlich geprüft, gefolgt von einem ausführlichen Briefing (Tauchstrecke, Strömung, geografische Besonderheiten, mögliche Sichtungen, Dauer des Tauchgangs, Details zum Aufstieg und Einsammeln durch das Boot). Nach dem ersten Tauchgang wurden wir mit Bananen, Keksen und Wasser versorgt. Für das Wasser bekamen wir Alu-Tassen, die aus einem großen Kanister nachgefüllt wurden. Anschließend ging's zu einem weiteren Tauchplatz, danach zurück. Das Team half beim Spülen, und nach einer schnellen Dusche hatte das Hotel sogar noch Essen von der Karte für uns. Sehr viel Fisch bekamen wir zu sehen an unseren fünf Tauchtagen, darunter viele Muränen, außerdem mehrere Schildkröten, große Langusten, bei fast jedem Tauchgang große Stachelrochen, korallenbedeckte Felsen, Nacktschnecken, ein Wrack (Frachtschiff, ca. 80m lang und während WK2 gesunken) - und einen Walhai! Vielen Dank an Fábio, Filipa, Picka und Dany für abwechslungsreiche, unvergessliche Tauchgänge, jederzeit freundlichen, aufmerksamen Service und viel Spaß. Wir fühlten uns bestens aufgehoben.

Eine tolle Tauchschule. Wir sind zusammen mit unseren Kindern dort tauchen gewesen und waren sehr zufrieden. Alles sind sehr nett und kompetent. Wir mussten leider krankheitsbedingt kurzfristig unsere Tauchgänge verschieben. Dies war überhaupt kein Problem und es wurde es wurde sehr gut auf unsere individuelle Situation eingegangen. Auch unser Sohn, der einen Schnuppertauchgang absolviert hat war sehr begeistert und wurde super betreut. Wir haben uns zu jeder Zeit sicher gefühlt. Vielen Dank

J’ai choisi de passer mon open water dans ce centre de plongée et je n’ai pas été déçue ! J’ai effectué la formation sur 3 jours consécutifs car je ne restais que 4 jours sur São Vicente, c’était intense mais Filipa est très douce, bienveillante et patiente, elle va à votre rythme et vous aide à combattre vos peurs. Les tarifs pratiqués sont les mêmes qu’en Europe, mais vous aurez la chance de plonger avec des tortues et probablement voir des dauphins. Je recommande !
