Nice beach not too far away from the city center. Clean waters however entry to the water may be quite deep so better take care when getting in and out. Two cafe on the both ends of the beach. A sunbed could be taken in western part of the beach.

Beautiful and lovely beach in thr city, it's usually shielded from the wind that makes other beaches on the island less ideal for sunning and swimming. There are 2 beachbars, one of them does rental sunbeds.

Nice beach with two bar in back. In February Sunday was not a lot of people. One bar is renting sunbeds but not many. Take beach things with you

It was a very lovely beach. However now there is a desalination plant at its Northern end. It makes lots of noise and smells of fuel. Only a madman could have placed something like that next to a city beach. This has heavily degraded the attractiveness of the entire city as a holiday or expat destination.

Schöner Strand, fällt im Meer sehr schnell ins Tiefe ab. Blaue Farbe, Wassertemperatur ca. 18 Grad im Februar. In ca. 5 Minuten vom Hafen aus zu erreichen.

Toller Strand, sauberes Wasser. Einfacher Einstieg, breiter Sandstrand zum hinlegen. Am Wochenende musikalische Begleitung durch die Einheimischen :-)

The beach they don't maintain, it goes from 2 ft to 6ft in 4 steps. Dangerous for your kids. The riptide will take you out. The beggars are constant. They don't have any beach shower area because the nation is so poor the local citizens will use & abuse the facility. The mayor is out of his mind calling it a beach town. Resturants are horrible with flies every where. 1 out of 8 restaurants is worth eating at in the city. The shop keepers poison thier dogs, such people are worthless humans. Learn to neuter the dogs & not poison them. That alone disgusts me & sad for living creatures. These reviews I have read are & will disappoint you. Perhaps visitors come from poor parts of Portugal but if your lady can't accept flies all over her food then this ain't the place for you but the people are arm & beautiful if they aren't to beggars or drunks. 1 out of every 4 is drunk & destroying thier lines on local sugar cane rum. The Nation needs an Alcohol Annonymous program. This is tough love to help you make an informed decision & helps you manage expectations.

Ein wirklich toller Strand. Der weiße Sand kommt hier nicht natürlich vor, sondern wurde extra rangeschafft. Das Wasser ist klar und warm. Die Strömung ist zwar stark, aber händelbar. Allerdings gibt es wenige Ort für Schatten, weshalb man sich entweder selbst Sonnenschutz mitbringt oder eben nicht zu lange dort bleibt. Wir hatte außerdem sehr viel Wind, was das Aufstellen von Sonnenschutz nicht möglich gemacht hat. Der Strand ist fußläufig vom Zentrum Mindelos erreichbar.

Stadt- und hafennaher Strand. Baden, Schwimmen gut möglich, da er sehr geschützt liegt und der Wellengang gering ist. In der Woche ist der Strand sehr leer, außer es liegen Kreuzfahrtschiffe im Hafen oder am Wochenende, wenn auch Einheimische kommen. Perfekt um sich den Sonnenuntergang anzusehen.

Schöner künstlicher Strand, flaches Wasser. Wirkte sauber. Vom Kreuzfahrt Hafen in 5 Minuten über einen Gehweg zu Fuß zu erreichen. Es gibt eine Beach Bar, bei der man gegen Gebühr Schirm, Liege und Wi-Fi buchen kann.

A ilha toda é ventosa o dia inteiro. A água é agradável mas não tanto como no Sal.

It's better at the end of the day, about 5h pm. The water is fresher, and fewer people, less sun exposure, fewer people asking for money kkkk. Just enjoy it's on off the best places to chill in mindelo.

Wrong information . There is no subdivision named Matiota . That used to be the name of a beach around that area , that hasn't existed for decades .
