I would have loved to leave a good review but unfortunately cannot. Our check in time was supposed to be 3 and the concert we were attending was at 5. We wanted to be able to put our stuff in our room and freshen up but weren’t able to because the rooms hadn’t been cleaned. We asked to get a phone call when we were able to check in, which ended up being around 4:30. We weren’t able to go back to the hotel and said we would check in after the concert. We got back after the concert and we’re told our room had been given away. Fortunately they were able to find us a room but that took a little time. We’ve contacted the manager multiple times but have not received a phone call back. We are just dissatisfied that we paid around $400 to have a hotel room for less then 10 hours. If we knew that was going to be the case we would have gone a different route. The staff that night were very nice. I’m mostly upset that we still have not gotten a call back from the manager.

I had a quick 14 hour stay in Minneapolis and wanted something close to the highway and comfortable enough to check in late at night downtown. Doesn't have the charm of an autograph collection but it's a beautiful building with spacious rooms. *You can park on the street after 10pm for free. *Observation deck is closed *Elite Breakfast is served to your room (complimentary for Platinum members) *Super friendly and welcoming staff

This was a first ever visit to W brand for my fiancé and I. Previously I would always go for a different chain, but this time decided to give W a try! The experience was perfect right from the check-in. The receptionist, Nicole, was very sweet and accommodating. She upgraded us to a gorgeous corner suite on 26th floor with gorgeous views of the city - see pics! As ambassador members we got free continental breakfast delivered to the room every morning. The breakfast included two delicious pastries, fruit, a little bit of yogurt, orange juice and a pot of tea or coffee. Pretty good, not enough for 2 people, so we also added lobster Benedict to our order. It was nice to see Meredith in the morning as she brought in our delicious breakfast. I don’t know, there is some special magic to me in room service … :) The hotel has very hip bar on 27th floor and also a cute bar with a fireplace downstairs. Overall, great first experience with W! Looking forward to come back!

It had poor service. And the bar in our room was empty. It didn't have the promised bathrobes. And no microwave anywhere in the facility. No pool or pool tables. But other than that lacking, it is bar far one of the best hotels we've ever stayed at..

The stay itself was not unpleasant. The front desk staff were very polite and helpful. However, I didn’t receive service while I was there and so I was in the room for 5 days. I had just come out of the hospital and so I wasn’t trying to move around very much so I ordered in every day. Of course, the room is going to be dirty when I leave because nobody cleaned the room because I was in it all day so it was just the normal amount of food boxes and trash left in the room from 5 days. I got charged a $150 cleaning fee. I called the hotel and they the Director of Rooms, Ali, was extremely rude and disrespectful in how she handled our interaction. I explained very politely that I booked under the friends and family rate (I called Marriott International afterwards and they confirmed that I did indeed book the friends and family rate) and she said I booked under the associate rate. Then she proceeded to reach out to my friends property and got him in trouble with his General Manager when in reality, I had done nothing wrong. She also refused to revoke the cleaning fee as well when there was no damage or smoking in the room. I used to be a Marriott Employee and I’ve never been so disrespected by a Marriott employee in my life. I have had pleasant experiences at almost every other property. This is very distasteful and I would like to speak to the Director of Operations or General Manager about my experience. I have raised a case with Marriott International but I really just want to be heard in this scenario.

Beautiful on the surface, pretty underwhelming stay overall. We stayed Saturday night for a small staycation while we had things to do in Minneapolis. The main lobby area and front desk is beautiful, and the front desk staff were always helpful and polite. However, everything afterward was pretty disappointing. Our room was much smaller and didn’t have the same furniture than what we had looked at directly from the website. We ordered pizza that afternoon and left the box outside the door, and it was never picked up even after checkout the next day (almost 24 hours). When we got in from a night out we didn’t realize the restaurant/bar was essentially a nightclub so the noise was a bit much. We then tried to take a late night shower and the water never got hot. I assumed maybe it needed extra time to warm up but after 5 minutes it was still cold to the touch. While my husband slept in the next day I decided to make use of the gym, which turned out to be another disappointment. Two people were already occupying and it felt super claustrophobic. They advertise the Peloton on their website so I decided to give it a go and of course it doesn’t work. I know most people don’t stay in downtown to use the hotel gym, but I expected more for the hype. When it came to checkout, we used a cart to move our items to the car and the valet clearly saw me struggling to get through the door and just watched. I guess if you didn’t pay to park with the valet they don’t care. I might return to check out the restaurant when there’s less going on, but I wouldn’t stay again.

Awesome place. Service was great. Excited to go back for work in a month or two when the weather is nicer to me. Very comfortable, clean and professional. Parking was a bit tough but you’re in a large city’s downtown so you have to expect that.

Despite being part of the Marriott Bonvoy program for many years, this the first time I stayed in a hotel of their W brand, and the experience was great. Service was excellent during my stay both in the front desk and in the Prohibition Bar. The hotel is well-located, close to many eateries and attractions downtown. However, what most impressed me was the Foshay's design. I love hotels that have an extra care with their design elements and, in some of the major chains, it is hard to find something truly distinctive. Given the historical nature of the building, there are strong Art Deco elements everywhere. However, the interior designers were able to add many modern touches that look both glitzy and historic, while delivering a contemporary touch, especially with the use of multi-colored accent walls. Just the right amount of personality -- a little more and it would look pretentious. The rooms are also very well designed. The basic room where I stayed was definitely small (it is an old building, after all) but the use of the right furniture makes it look much more spacious. The restroom is very comfortable, and I loved the large rain shower, with the area covered with the same tiles on the walls and on the floor. Definitely a place I will return to in a future trip to Minneapolis.

The Foshay hotel, is a skyscraper in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Modeled after the Washington Monument, the building was completed in 1929. Since the building was designed to echo the Washington Monument, the sides of the building slope slightly inward, and each floor of the Foshay Tower is slightly smaller than the one below it. The interior of the building is a bit dark, it feels a bit like walking through Miami at night with the glow of the neon lights throughout the interior of the hotel. The masculine glam interior and decor mixed with the old charm of well maintained 1929 building makes this sexy hotel one of the most popular in the twin cities. The rooms are a bit small but that is to be expected with timeline of its creation, they are elegant and very comfortable. The suites provide much more room. The lobby bar is very popular, extremely comfortable, especially on the weekends and typically it is very difficult to find a table or empty chair at the bar. There are far too many amenities to list that this hotel offers, you will find everything you require and more. Take note of the unique aroma emanating throughout this hotel, it is something you won't forget and if you like it enough to buy the candles they do sell those as well. Cheers!

I give this 3 stars instead of 5 for this reason. My husband and I came to Minneapolis for his Grandmother's 90th birthday. This is my first trip to the city. I booked the hotel over a month ago. My husband and I have different last names and sometimes get confused on whose name is under. Upon our arrival to the hotel we were greeted rather hastily by the woman at the front desk. She asked us our name, and for our ID, right away. She then very sticky said she couldn't find us and in the same sentence asked for our confirmation number. As my husband was looking for the reservation she kept repeating herself that we were not in the system. As he stated to read the number he red 2 digits and she cut him off and said we didn't book it with them that wasn't their confirmation number. She then grabbed my husband's phone and started to scroll through flipped it around shoved it in his face and said that we booked it for the day before and that we were no call no shows. I was blind sided. Everything was moving so fast and she was now taking to us in such a condescending manner I was getting upset. I finally said to her to look it up under my husband's name. She rolled her eyes and did. She told me I needed to be better organized. Started to rattle off our room number and how to get there and stopped acknowledging me. She made me so mad I started to call around to other hotels because I no longer wanted to stay. The 3 starts is for the fun and elaborate decor. Nothing to do with the staff because we were never greeted or acknowledged in our 4 day stay at $690 total.

Great hotel well appointed rooms with spa like bathrooms and great views. Manny’s is one of the best steakhouses in the city with a lot of old school charm and over the top portions. Highly recommend!

This historical and classy hotel has great service. The bed and pillows were great. My standard king room came with a nespresso which was great. Everything was very clean. Lastly the service at both restraunts, the bar and the front were amazing. Will definitely stay again. The location downtown is walking distance to shopping and lots of good bars and food.

Held an Intensive here and cannot say enough positive things about the experience. Nina and the sales team were very accommodating and the welcome team was friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend the venue for any work related events or meetings. We hope to come back!

4 Star Hotel with cool room, spacious shower, and bathroom. *Shower soaps with pump handles weren't full (5 star hotels always fill before guests arrive) *I needed to ask for a small fridge. *Wasn't a book in the room defining hotel amenities. *QR code brought up Mannys Steakhouse menu. *Mini bar with drink prices but none in the actual mini bar itself. (Nothing really explaining how mini bar worked) *Nowhere to buy snacks. The closest is a Target 3 blocks away, which opens at 8 am *This W Hotel is losing a lot of money daily per room. *Hotel female staff is very friendly and attractive (just being real) *Really cool W in lobby with pics of local celebs, including my favorite artist Prince *Location is perfect. Just a few blocks from Target Center or US Bank Stadium *If management turns up the dial a few degrees, 5-Star potential is within their grasp

The service is excellent at this elegant, historical hotel. The pillows and bed were excellent. It was fantastic that my standard king room had a Nespresso machine. It was all really tidy. Finally, the front desk and bar staff at both restaurants provided outstanding service. Will undoubtedly return. Shopping, numerous nice bars, and restaurants are all within walking distance of the downtown center.

The hotel itself isn't bad and if you stayed you will be fine. My lower rating is more so it didn't feel the vibe or feeling of the W brand. The hip trendy vibe is only partially there in the lobby. The rooms are pretty small for a W as well, they are nice just small. Since this is a downtown hotel also expect your view to be looking into another building and vice versa. So if that not your thing, definitely not a right fit. The continental breakfast was very disappointing. It was like a fruit cup and plastic wrap danish taste from the local 7-11.

Nice place, small room, questionable service up front. Only here for one night. Room wasn’t ready although we were here well after when our room should be ready. Standing there with bags in our hand and didn’t offer to hold bags while we get a drink. This place is valet only so no other option for bags. Another CSR saw us standing there with our bags and offered service - just an awkward moment of - they screwed up and it’s our problem with zero effort to make things comfortable or right. Wasn’t much later some other guest was screaming at the same staff member that didn’t help us, so there is a theme. Bar was awesome, Kyle is awesome and super friendly. Great drinks and pretty cool you can order anything off the Mannys menu at the W bar. Mannys booked up for the evening but we were still able to enjoy some good eats. Good views from floor 21

In town for the National Bar Association annual convention. We had a blast!! Michelle was very kind and helpful. Asst. Manager Rahgeme Snider was absolutely amazing!! Going ABOVE and BEYOND day after day! He is an excellent manager and has a very bright future because he raise the bar for excellence in service and hospitality.

The hotel needs a refresh on their rooms, towels, etc. The pillows were too soft, my head just sank in, so it was like I didn't even have one. The staff was great & you can't beat the location. Overall it's a nice hotel but I was expecting more for the money I paid.

Absolutely wonderful hotel. The decor and ambiance are outstanding. The food at the steakhouse is amazing not just because of the taste but the portion sizes as well. Definitely treat yourself to this hotel if you can.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I definitely would. Let me start by saying the front desk girl said about 4 words to us when we checked in and had absolutely no personality or happiness for her job whatsoever. I made these reservations the night prior to surprise my boyfriend with our little valentines getaway. We get to our room on the 3rd floor (after requesting a high floor) and the windows are towards a brick wall….like literally cannot see anything anywhere, It was a dark alley with a brick wall. I felt like we were in a dungeon. I paid over $600 for the 2 nights and then get put in a corner with no view of outside? Craziness. There should be an option of this room for $75 a night as I could’ve stayed at a super 8 for that price with the same view. Then, we go to bed, and my sheets are disgusting and stained…one stain was red, appeared to be blood. The doors also slam shut so prepare yourself for little to no sleep. We go here for Manny’s, we won’t be back to this hotel. Id rather walk miles from a different hotel to go to Mannys. I will not be back.

Comfortable king bed and room provided a spacious shower, closet with many hangers, as well as a safe. Not that much drawer space for clothes. Such great service by the staff at the desk, as well as rapid room service delivery. Very convenient location in an interesting and historic building. Would recommend parking at a nearby surface lot or ramp instead of the expensive valet.

I was in town on work and got stuck here during a blizzard. The hotel overall is nice not the best W I have stayed at but still what you expect from the upper end marriotts. The building is old so the radiator in the room makes a lot of noise and the windows are small. The bed is very comfortable and the valet was top notch. The robes were old and worn (what you would expect from a roadside Sheridan). I had some other issues but Devon at the front desk solved all of them and was wonderful! Devon made this a 4 star from a 3 star for me. The building is very cool and historic and definitely visit the bar upstairs.

The room was relatively small. By itself, this isn't much of an issue, but be forewarned, if you are sharing the room with someone, there is no way of locking/fully shutting the bathroom door, nor any sort of active ventilation like a fan. There wasn't any sort of mini-fridge in the room - which was surprising - but they were quick to offer bringing up one the second we mentioned it was odd. Finally, the doors shut loud, so bring earplugs if you plan to sleep in. The blackout curtains work exceptionally well. Service was extremely friendly and accommodating. The nightlife on the floor level bar seems to be quite active on the weekends.

Beautiful Hotel, hotel staff where amazing people with great personalities . Helpful, kind, and courteous. The wonderful Expresso machine had no instructions nor a way to decipher what flavor was what flavor. The soap in which we were to use for a shower or to wash your hands did not have the best smell a little too strong for my opinion. Maybe something a man would like. The hotel staff made the experience wonderful I would definitely stay again. Thank you for the beautiful presentation of the 2023 New Year's bash.

Staff were very friendly but the rooms were not worth the price. The bathroom was nice but room design is very poor. I stayed in the “cool” king bed room and the layout is rather poor. All of the chairs are extremely uncomfortable. Tv is at a weird angle and pretty far away from the bed. When compared to the distance from the bed, the tv is rather hard to see and small. Had to request a microwave for my room and it took them over a couple of hours to bring it. I’ve had better stays at a Country Inn and Suites.

This is my first stay at a W and they set the bar high, with friendly, approachable staff, tasteful design (keeping the best attributes of art deco architecture but giving the historic building a modern flavor) and comfy bedding. The Prohibition Bar on the 27th floor has stunning views and tasty drinks.

The building is great and it offers a small museum with the history on the building plus great views of the city. The room was nice and spacious, has a Nespresso machine, and is well decirated and kept, although the plumbing is a bit noisy. The gym could be improved: a little small and underequipped for the category. In general it’s a good stay.

While I didn't stay at the hotel, I had a couple of interactions with the staff. They were generally helpful, and spoke well. But one particular interaction left a really bad taste in my mouth. There was a bartender who clearly looked like she didn't want to interact with the customer, to the point that she intentionally chose to look away, ignore a direct question, and basically force another member of staff to help out with a basic question. It was weird, awkward, and now I don't feel like entering the place ever again. Which is sad, cause I thought it'd be a great place to take my parents, and show them a view of the city. There could have been a racist undertone, but I chose to ignore it.

I have never stayed at this hotel but I recently did pay a visit. The best part? The observance deck is amazing! We got keys at the front desk so we could access the elevators and we went up to the 30th floor. You’ll find a small museum when you exit and then you can take the stairs up which will lead you to an exit where you can go outside and see a beautiful view of the city. It was a great place to take photos. We also made our way down to an area where we sat and ordered drinks. The main floor had a very cool fire place and live music too! Many things to do in just one building. The worst part? Parking is too hard to find and expensive so we ended up doing valet which was a little over $20 total. It is also more of a dark, fancy ambient so it won’t be everyone’s vibe. Drinks were also about $17-$20 each which may be too expensive for some but we were having a nice evening with a visiting friend so it was worth it for us.
