What a joyful gathering place! Families, couples, kids, dogs….such a welcoming space for everyone. Wide open lawns, blazing fire pits, outdoor sculptures, tasteful landscaping, plentiful sitting areas. And that’s before you even factor in the great selection of on-site brewed beers, imaginative pizza toppings, and delicious menu items. The pierogis were delicious! :)

Surly Brewing/pizza was absolutely spectacular, cheese pizza was so good with a great crisp to it, tasted delicious and was a good balance of cheese and sauce. I will say, little bit too much grease and I did not need that much Parmesan on it for sure. Nonetheless, pizza was so good and I definitely recommend! 8.8/10!

Food was excellent and the beer was exquisite. For those who enjoy dark beer I highly recommend the Darkness. Great place to hang out with friends.

Awesome pizza, and sweet atmosphere. It’s mostly self-service upstairs, so go up to the bar/counter to order food. We had the Walter White pizza. It was so good that half of it was gone before I took a picture. They serve nice new haven style pizzas.

We met up with a friend at Surly to catch up and to see her wedding venue in advance. The tap house was very large and open, and was open to outside as well. There was ample seating indoors and outdoors. Dogs are allowed at the outdoor seating. We were ID’d at the door and stamped before heading inside. They checked for a stamp with every drink order. I really enjoyed the beers I had and the environment. I’m really looking forward to the wedding being there.

It's become a destination and is quite impressive to see. Sadly the beers no longer hold up to their success. They have beers of all styles but they are honestly not very good. They have really gone incredibly commercial with few beers worthy of close to their hype. The facility is nothing short of beautiful. It's really large, indoors and outdoors, and is well decorated. The gift shop has a little of everything.

One of my favorite breweries in Minneapolis- or anywhere, for that matter. Beers were top notch. We loved sitting outside and that there was plenty of room even though it was busy.

Customer service is on point! Everyone is so nice. Big selection of food and second floor is a pizza. Gotta make sure you try the bacon apple cheesecake!

I really liked this place. Great beer, service and taproom. Nice selection of beers, something for everyone. Enjoyed sitting outside on the patio which is very spacious, where you can relax and enjoy the view. I’m not a huge fan of breweries but I’m looking forward to returning!

Crazy good beer and food that is “surly” going to exceed your expectations. Server was very knowledgeable about their drinks; that always makes it better. Great outdoor seating area.

Surly is by far the best and most accessible brewery in the cities. Great parking, amazing atmosphere, and fantastic beer selection. Their pizza up on the second floor is also the best I've ever had - it has unique gormet ingredient combinations and is very crispy. Highly recommend!

First time here and was blown away by how good their pizza is! Incredible. And their beer of course was great. So many choices for different tastes. My only recommendation for the kitchen is to get ranch for dipping. 😂 Can’t wait to try more unique brews!

It was okay. The pizza was good but nothing to write home. What turned me off the most was the unfriendly staff. The building is completely awesome!

Meet up with friends and I could not have chosen a better venue. Plenty of space upstairs on a weeknight as it wasn't too busy. Warm service though it's pay-as-you-go here. Beers were excellent, the meatball appetizer was insanely delicious and we enjoyed two pizzas. The white clam "Pioneer Hitchhiker" was beyond tasty. The Spicoli (sausage, radicchio, onion) was also fabulous. There's a lot of flavor here and it goes well with beer, beer and more beer. I'd say my only complaint is the parking. It was a pretty good walk from the parking lot to the entrance but they do have handicapped parking up front if that helps.

We stopped in Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy. Packed upstairs and downstairs with lively chatter and decent music and they also had a few people lining up for tours. I like that the parking lot is spacious and there is a big fire pit out front. I ordered the Pioneer Hitchhiker and it was pretty delicious, the only thing that was kinda confusing was the patio. Which I thought was heated so it would be open mid/late fall, but it was closed during our visit today. Also the THC drinks, which are only sold in a four pack, can’t be opened inside because of the law. I would of loved to enjoy it with my pizza, but I’m grateful to enjoy at home. Other than that we’d stop by again.

Pretty amazing place. Two menus, tons of great beer. Incredible views from the second floor. Great place to spend time, especially on a trip to SGDQ

Beautiful space indoors and outdoors at Surly. Tons of space to spread out. They have a pizza stand inside that makes great pizza. Beers are good. Definitely will return!

I've been here numerous times for food, drinks, trivia, and fun times! I've had dinner and breakfast here. Both menus offer variety and the taste is on par with the price. There's an upstairs area that serves pizza (which is also great) and that's where I've played trivia (s/o to Trivia Mafia). They have an expansive outdoor space that's great in whichever weather they choose to open it up in. We celebrated my girlfriend's birthday here in the rain since they had adequate covering and had a wonderful time outside. The drinks are also what you'd expect from Surly: great! This is my go to spot to take family and friends that are visiting. Even the ones that complain a lot seem to enjoy it, so that's 5 stars from me! Edit: Came here for the annual concert and I couldn't recommend it more. It was well organized and had plenty of food and drink options. The acts were tremendous as well. Will definitely be coming back!

Come to surly, go upstairs, get a pizza or 3. The clam pizza was decent, maybe could've used a little more clam. Yesterday's pizza was pretty good with shaved Brussels sprouts. The potato one was really good. I wished the slice of potato had been crisper but overall a delightful experience.

Surly has been on my list of pizza places that I needed to try for years after Dave Portnoy gave it the same score as Black Sheep which is also my favorite pizza spot. The place is massive first of all. I almost felt a little lost at first but if you follow the signs, then you will find where you need to go. The first floor looks like brewing and the second floor is where the pizza was. They have outdoor seating on both the first and second floor as well. Solid atmosphere in this place too. I burnt the roof of my mouth off on the first bite since I was so eager to try it out. Visually, it was stunning. Although, it was a tad oily and maybe could've been cooked just a little bit longer. The first slice was the best slice of all. They totally executed the razor thin crust and the outer crust was also soft but crunchy at the same time which is how I like it. They use a very distinguishable cheese blend with another cheese shaved on top. This cheese blend was totally different than any other pizza I have ever had. It was super flavorful and unique. I never really got a good read on their sauce but this pizza was absolutely fantastic. For the price of like 12$, the pizza is also massive. This is definitely somewhere I would want to come back to and experience more of.

Great beer, geat people and even better food. Oh, and their pizza? Possibly top 5 I've ever had. There's a good reason this Surly is one of the more popular breweries in the state. Check this place out now if you haven't already.

As I don't drink, the food menu is more important to me than the beers, and Surly's food was above expectations! There were more than great! I have nothing to say about their brews, but my husband said they were good too. This was the biggest and most crowded brewery I ever saw, and enjoyed their atmosphere a lot. Now, Surly has become one of the places I would want to revisit when I come to Minneapolis again. Highly recommend their mussels, I loved it!!

Went for dinner on a Wednesday night with a friend who is in town, this place is always packed! They dab your hand at the door after checking your ID, and the order system is all through QR code, including paying through the toast app, which is super convenient. There is a little store you can visit if you want to purchase merch. I had the French onion burger and it was pretty decent, but it does not come with fries, which is a bit of a letdown for the price. I enjoyed the rosé beer that I had as well.

We always love coming to Surly for the lively atmosphere, great food and beer. We always go straight for the pizza upstairs as it’s some of the best in the Twin Cities. We got the following pizzas: -I’m your daddy (Pepperoni, burnt honey, sweet and hot peppers). This is my go to and never disappoints -Clocks Ticking (compressed pineapple, jalapeño, prosciutto). Surprisingly outstanding. -I’m in Love (Honey Goat Cheese, Red Peppers, Arugula) All of the pizza were outstanding! We lasso got the spinach and artichoke dip which was rich, creamy and tasty. Oh, that’s right, they also have beer! Any Surly IPA satisfies but my favorite right now is Black Cherry Supreme Tart Ale, so delicious.

This place is huge. Plenty of space to be around people or get away from them 😅. Brought kids and had their fresh thin crust pizzas, definitely good. Beer wise, great selection obviously being a brewery. They have a West Coast IPA which was fantastic (cosmic chaos). Their Furious IPA definitely hit harder than a normal one. Great flavor but bold for sure. Merch was on point so we got some stuff for the road. Definitely recommend for a meet up.

So much more than awesome beer . . . great space, great service, great vibe. Could've hung out here all day (almost did).

Great place to get pizza! We ordered carry out and were delighted with it. Our favorite was the Tony 2 or 3. If you like thin crust, char, and great flavor, then come here! We will be back in the future.

Amazing brewery and beer garden, this place is huge, you can order beer at the tap inside or outside, staff is friendly and fast to pour beer, food is great, you can try several beers per season and they have souvenir store

Greats spot, better if you have a large group rather than a 2 person date. The pizza was good but the chopped salad was the star of the show! We’d come back just for that salad.

This place is overwhelmingly awesome. They have gone way above and beyond, and clearly very intentionally, to make this a community brewery experience. An enormous spralling campus of art, music, games and activities that invites college aged kids, to the elderly, to the entire family with the same enthusiasm. They have a huge gift shop with lots of beers to go, and enormous dining area with a great menu, huge outdoor seating with a stage, cornhole, grassy areas, fire pits, etc. And that's just the first floor. Upstairs they have a meeting hall and a pizzeria. The beer was fantastic. They have a huge rotating menu and we were lucky enough to catch it during Oktoberfest. Big ole mugs of beer are only $8 too! Bring your friends and family here and make an afternoon out of all they have to offer.
