👍 Well I remember back in the day there was water features that were on and worked now there's really no point in going in that building unless it's skyway access, that literally all it's good for now. People often mention building, Minneapolis,

Apparently there must be a new concept in mall design because all I saw was a bunch of big empty spaces and almost no humans. Maybe this is what Mpls. has in mind to house the huge homeless population, the same ones who they keep displacing when they raid the little shanty towns that seem to pop up overnight.

Parked our car for about 90 minutes while visiting City Center. Their parking rate was $35 for those 90 minutes! Call me crazy, but that's A LOT for a mere hour and a half. I would suggest finding somewhere else to park your car in downtown Minneapolis. Security officer wasn't very helpful either. The building also doesn't seem well maintained.

We had a nice time shopping there and met some wonderful people. The Thursday outdoor market was charming and we really enjoyed our time there. On a side note we went to Walgreens and we're helped by Louella and she is about the nicest person we met there. Be sure and check out the Mary Tyler Moore statue while you are down there but I'm not sure I'd be there after dark. The atmosphere changed after then and we didn't feel completely safe. Sorry to say that but it's just the truth. Take care and Safe Travels, Rick W

Incredibly sad to say there's really no point in even visiting anymore there's virtually nothing to see did you still have a decent food court across the skyway other than that most of the shops have pulled out which is really sad especially having grown up here and seeing what it used to be like and let's turn into.

Shadow of it's former self would give it 3 stars, maybe 4 if I was grading on a curve. Us few locals who haven't FLED before the riots even happened refer to downtown as "don't bother" for well over five years now.

One of my favorite building in downtown Minneapolis. Why? Because it's so damn beautiful. Recent renovations really made the ground floor pop. Nice shops and a YMCA located in the building.

Great store options but the people that shop here are uppity. They also looked at and treated me and a friend, who is also African American, like we didn't belong there.

They decided to close walk in access to their parking ramp at 7:45p on a Saturday (the QR reader doors on 6th were locked). Skyway access was also closed. Had to wait 20 minutes to sneak in behind another car entering the ramp so we could get back to our car.

Never parking here again for Vikings games. Used to be our favorite spot. Now we can never get out of the arm, long line, no one can get it to work, no assistance. Sitting here, again, for 20 minutes and still the 4th car in line at the gate. Ridiculous.

Gaviidae (gah-VEE-day) Common was largely abandoned as a shopping center nearly a decade ago; the COVID-19 crisis has only multiplied the retail woes in Minneapolis, and other than a two-story Walgreens, a coffee shop and a florist, there’s not much going on here anymore. But there sure used to be!

I AM ME, AND I’M OK – A SELF-AFFIRMATION Loving oneself is hard work. It seems that we are conditioned to do otherwise. But love is a choice, and it is choice you can consciously make. The question is, how?I have found these words, written to be very helpful. Read them, and start to own them yourself. I Am Me, and I’m Ok. I am Me. In all the world, there is no one else exactly like me. Everything that comes out of me is authentically mine, because I alone chose it – I own everything about me: my body, my feelings, my mouth, my voice, all my actions, whether they be to others or myself.I own my fantasies, my dreams, my hopes, my fears. I own my triumphs and successes, all my failures and mistakes. Because I own all of me, I can become intimately acquainted with me. By so doing, I can love me and be friendly with all my parts.I know there are aspects about myself that puzzle me, and other aspects that I do not know – but as long as I am friendly and loving to myself, I can courageously and hopefully look for solutions to the puzzles and ways to find out more about me.However I look and sound, whatever I say and do, and whatever I think and feel at a given moment in time is authentically me. If later some parts of how I looked, sounded, thought, and felt turn out to be unfitting, I can discard that which is unfitting, keep the rest, and invent something new for that which I discarded.I can see, hear, feel, think, say, and do. I have the tools to survive, to be close to others, to be productive, and to make sense and order out of the world of people and things outside of me. I own me, and therefore, I can engineer me. I am me, and I am Okay.

I was harassed by a member of staff, possibly a janitorial or security person, it was difficult to discern based on his behavior and uniform. I was yelled at and followed in an inappropriate manner, that left me in tears. I am still unsure what provoked him. Do not visit this place alone.

I used the Gaviidae Common only as an access point into the Skyway so as to avoid the cold outside temps on the way to my friend's bookstore a few doors down from J.D. Hoyt's restaurant. Jim & Mary Laurie bookstore was my goal and as far as I'm concerned you won't find a better used bookstore in Minneapolis! As for the common itself, it's okay but not like it was a few years ago when jewelery stores, clothing stores and similar businesses populated its environs. But then a great many things were better in the past as well. I'm certain that I speak for a lot of people who lament the passing of the food court! Oh well, c'est la vie.

Very pretty shopping area! It's in downtown Minneapolis near Nicolette Mall. A friend of mine had the grand opening of his new shoe boutique and store there. I highly recommend checking it out. He's a local artist and he emigrated to this country. His store is Edicion Especial. There's plenty of places around to shop and visit as well as plenty of places to eat.

Aside from housing a convenient two-storied Walgreens, it's not much more than a schmancy relic of a skyway conjunction.
