It’s “a place” in White Bear Lake. The location (odd location) you can call it, it’s in the middle of nowhere. It's trying to make it look like the original Vikings but there is no real Vikings in MN or even close to it. Looks like St. Paul/Minneapolis suburban folks who discovered the earth is no longer flat. Good discovery at last. The mead is honey based alcohol/wine. A more serious effort should have been made to have some reminiscent look and feel of the actual Vikings. Going half the way it’s not always something impressive. I only liked the “Yule” because the blend of the cranberry and orange is a very intense blend to make it noticeable. In small samples some of these different flavors of mead taste like cognac or other alcoholic drinks but most of these only exist and have no reason for it. The cranberry based one, it gives you a weird after taste but it’s as good as it can get. Other flavors are not that great in my opinion because you don’t get a vibe or an aftertaste. There are 23 flavors where some are kind of weak but I stick with “Yule”. It’s definitely good they have small samples to try it. The food there is not the greatest for the price. Other than that, it’s clean the workers are decent and it’s a good place but kind of far unless you live close by.

Lots of seating and awesome decor, they usually have around 12-15 meads to try. They do samples, flights, 4oz and 8oz pours and a variety of to-go options! Just moved to the Mead Hall see website and Facebook for Official Grand Opening but check them out in the meantime!! Seriously good mead!

The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. Great selection of mead with a wide range of flavors. Great spot for mead veterans and those new to it. I cannot recommended this place any higher.

I wouldn't recommend it. I like mead and I was really looking forward to sampling their menu but there's nothing I tried that I would order again. Out of 5 meads that I tried, maybe 1 or 2 were even decent. They were all syrupy with strong, mostly unpleasant flavors. The food is decent and cheap but there aren't a lot of options there. They've clearly put some work into the decor but the building itself is a little too bright and sterile to really evoke the Viking hall thing they seem to be aiming for. All in all, a disappointing experience.

Just a lovely place. Vikings vibe! Many different mead options, flights available and they allow you to try small sips for free. They also sell candles, decor, and mead for takeout. Staff is very friendly and informative. There are plenty seating options so you can bring your friends and play your favorite games. They even have a little play area for small kids. I’m so thrilled there is a meadery in our neighborhood that’s so well done!

Looking forward to going to the Meadery. Walking through the Meadery, One of the first room I saw Brewing room not a big fan plastic fermenters The Meadery had lots of windows and was very bright, need some shades. W.B.M. was full of Viking and Celtic Kitsch. No way did it remind of a viking meet Hall. Maybe a MN viking meet hall. One great thing about the meeting hall was the great trusses tables. I tired a sampler from dry to sweet. No real differences between the Meads, they were ok. Customer Service was Good. Funny thing the owner was there and was too busy eating his Kwik trip sandwich. (W.B.M. Food?) No time to greet the customers coming in. First time there, some what disappointed. To each their own. Cheers

I was introduced to mead in Cambridge, MA at The Meadery. From then on, I was a believer. It's my ideal adult beverage because of its sweetness. I'm not a fan of wine or beer, and hard liquor is just not a good idea for a cancer survivor like me. White Bear Meadery has an excellent t selection. If you like sweet, try the Wanderer. If you want something drier, give Valhalla a try.

We tried 2 flights of the small glasses to sample some of the varieties. (There are still many more to try when we get back there.) The pizza was pretty good. The decor is Viking-inspired and fun. There's a small gift shop area inside. Pretty friendly service. They had a live musician when we were there (a bit too loud for the space to allow easy conversation, but pretty good otherwise). I'm not sure how often they have live music.

Tried 8 meads and they were all delicious. The person behind the bar was really helpful when I described a flavor profile I was looking for in a mead to give as a gift. Absolutely will come back here. The interior decor was really neat, and I look forward to seeing it in the daylight because of the stained glass in the windows.

Josh and his staff are excellent hosts and offer a unique experience in their White Bear mead hall. The atmosphere is relaxed, cool, and inviting. They offer selections of cold and warm snacks, and of course, mead! I recommend the flights since there are so many choices to pick from, it is hard to just have a single glass. The meadery has a focus on local ingredients and quality. Don't miss checking this meadery out if you're visiting the Minneapolis area!

First time having mead. It was delightful they also have some decent food and lots of honey!!! The atmosphere was pleasant and maintained a Viking clean feel. The harvest host was over booked. They booked at least six RVs for the night which was a lot for the parking.

Love the place. Excellent atmosphere, great mead, delicious snacks. Very welcoming staff. We came with a group with Irish wolfhounds, after st Patrick's day parade. We were very well received... I have been here a few more times...still love the place. Rented Loki's Lair for my birthday yesterday. We had a great time. Several friends came with Wolfhounds and even a Berger Picard...all were welcome. Food, beverages, and service were, once again, excellent. And the atmosphere great, relaxing and fun.

Great place. Tons of attention to detail and passion have gone into the place with a thoughtful design, family friendly features and cool decor. Lots of different mead varieties to try, it would be hard not to find at least one that is up your alley.

Great selection of mead. The flight is a good way to try a bunch of different flavors. Awesome atmosphere with food and mead. Really felt like a Vikings longhouse.

Loved the flights of mead we tried! Enjoyed a panini and a pretzel, too. Really helpful and friendly staff! Great ambiance and a fun place to hang out with friends!

Great mead and local honey. Highly recommend checking out their new location and getting a flight of mead to try the many mead options available.

Definitely a cool spot, especially if you enjoy a good mead and that have lots of!!! Food selection, was just okay but it wasn't bad by any means though. The theme was pretty cool, definitely very Viking hall-esque! Kid friendly, they have a kids corner with foam axes, swords, shields, etc! We will definitely be back, and definitely recommend this place to those who love a good mead. Staff was also very friendly, clean restroom ls, etc!!!

Very cool space. Super clean facility and restrooms. Great selection of swag and last but not least, solid meads. I love the Dragons Fire, possibly the best mead I've ever had.

As others have said, awesome selection of mead, great staff, wonderful atmosphere, lots of food options, and a cool shop (stocked up on different kinds of honey (Aster honey!)). I want to add that there's a super cool kids area! Viking themed. Dress up, books, building blocks, a table with their own fur bench, chalkboard, and a TV if for any reason the rest of that fails. I love that its got a half wall and door and two tables right outside. My husband loved every one of the seven meads we tried in the flight. I will say I think I discovered that I don't like mead and I should've started off with just one 4oz pour instead of a whole flight, but they have great sodas for me when we come back. Our kids (2 and 4) did not want to leave. We also took note of the super cool Loki themed party room that's available for a very reasonable rate.

Came with a friend and my five month old! Not only was the mead great but the atmosphere was perfect for kids! They had a great play area!! This will be a go to for my Little Canada and White Bear friends with littles!

All the mead is great. There’s a flavor for everyone here! Nice area and good parking. They even have a patio.

The building looks cool, and there appears to be resident goats (fun!), but what are we missing? Despite the hours saying open (tried to visit today, Saturday, at 8:30pm) there's a bunch of UPS deliveries stacked in front of the door with a big sign saying "Coming Soon."

Great mead and a quaint place. While I loved the drinks, I was super surprised by the $65 charge for two flights. This is after a $7 credit was applied to our tab as we brought our hop passport. I’m not sure how this price came to be as no receipt was given. Update: Thank you so much for the reply and for the refund! What a great business

Loved this place! The inside is decorated like a Viking hall. There's tons of seating and it really leans into the theme. Would be a really fun place to play games. We all got flights and took a growler home. They have tons of flavors and some are really unique. They exceeded my expectations and we'll definitely be back.
