Kayla was the best nurse from the beginning when we arrived to the hospital all the way until she helped us to our car 2 nights later. I really feel like she went above and beyond for our family. She always answered any questions we had in a way to make us feel so comfortable, and was so patient with my daughter. She made sure my daughter was comfortable with everything and understood it before she tried anything during her labor and afterwards. We will always be grateful for how she cared for not only my daughter but her boyfriend, and their baby. She will always be considered as a honorary aunt to us. I think all nurses could really learn more from the way she's cares for her patients. Their was also another nurse named Kayla that was amazing also with how she was able to she keep her boyfriend calm during her delivery time and we always remember her for that also.

As unpleasant as the reason for my being in this hospital. The staff had no problems with being wonderful and caring people! My mother was on a ventilator. She had been suffering from dementia for years. The nurses were absolutely amazing! As tiring as 12 hr shifts can be, at no time was there any sign of fatigue. ICU is not a good place for anyone. These women have made it as comfortable as possible for mom and her family. Two of these amazing people went beyond what they were there to do. ICU RN Candice and ICU Nurse Debbie. RN Candice made mom a prayer throw and placed it on her the first day in ICU. Then asked if cared that she had. It was the first one she had made. This small jester of kindness was more than we ever expected in a hospital. RN Debbie,, made all the efforts she could to be of help in this process with mom. The entire staff of the ICU unit have made the situation a little more easier to get through. At this time,, mom's situation is looking dim. Only God knows what will happen. But our heart felt thanks go to the nursing staff in ICU at Wytheville Community Hospital. God bless you all! The family of Juanita Ellis

Went to the ER with chest tightness and difficulty breathing. The registration lady as super polite and kind to us. We were told that the rooms were all full in the ER so they were treating patients from the wait room and two small triage rooms off to the side. Not a big deal except there were people bleeding in the waiting room, one guy was laying on the floor. People in wheelchairs got no assistance from the staff when called back, they just stood there and watched as patients struggled to get themselves to the triage rooms. When taken back the first time with the nurse, Tracey, things were good. She was nice and helpful and listened to my concerns. They ordered some tests and then we saw the PA Sarah. She was probably one of the rudest people I have met in this entire area . She asked what my concerns were and as I was explaining, she kept cutting me off and rolling her eyes and huffing and puffing. I was trying to give her whatever info I thought was pertinent to my concerns, but she wouldn't even listen to me. Had recently been on a medication and my symptoms started there. She didn't want to hear anything I had to say and told me I simply couldn't catch my breath because it was cold outside. She kept cutting me off and telling me my symptoms were two totally different things. She would make hand gestures for me to "hurry along" it's what I was explaining to her. We were just a bother to her, and she made it known to us that we were! When you have a sign in your waiting room stating the hospitals vision of "providers who want to practice" having providers like Sarah treating people the way she does, your vision is definitely not reflected. The lady who did my x-ray, I believe her name was Tracy as well, was really polite. At the end of the appt, we were discharged with no answers. I followed up the next day with my primary and was told my symptoms DID in fact have to do with my medicine (the info Sarah was trying to dismiss) and nothing to do with my heart. Had she listened to me instead of being a miserable person who is bothered by having to do HER JOB, maybe I could have gotten answers. One main thing I noticed is no one wore gloves, taking blood, taking nasal swabs for Covid/flu/rsv, doing EKG's.... not once did they have gloves on. Would not go back to this ER, will make the trip out to Pulaski or Galax if ever needed again.

Wythe rehabilitative services is a great place to go for physical therapy. The staff and physical therapist were great to work with very knowledgeable and worked diligently to help me with my knee. The front office staff was very courteous. John Dutton was great and he worked with me each and every time I came to physical therapy to help me get my knee corrected. Everyone was professional. The facilities were clean and the front office staff knew their stuff. I would recommend Wythe rehabilitative services to everyone.

I delivered my son at WCCH and had a wonderful experience. The facility was very clean, the care from the staff was excellent, and the food was great. I needed a follow up ER visit a few months after delivery and my experience was once again positive, fast and the care I received was exactly what I needed. I highly recommend Wythe County Community Hospital!

Shout out to the staff and medical professionals at Wythe County Community Hospital. Heath had the bedside manor we all wish we could experience during stressful procedures. He put me at ease immediately by treating me with kindness and care, explaining every step before it occurred. Missy also was caring and comforting, showing that both not only performed their jobs as professionals, but also took time to make sure I was comfortable and understood my anxiety. It means so much when people performing needed exams make us, as patients, feel comfortable and less anxious by remembering that we are human beings with feelings, not just a number and task to check off the list. Thank you Heath, Missy, Dr. Villoch and all the staff for making my morning as stress free as possible.

The Women’s Center staff showed so much compassion and empathy towards me and my husband during every visit. There were multiple times I called and spoke with whatever nurse was on duty because something happened or something just felt off. Induction day finally came and it was go time. My husband and I were both complete nervous wrecks. The staff was phenomenal. They answered any questions we had and when it was time for baby, Kayla Roe was our nurse. She was able to keep me grounded when I was ready to give up. She is amazing, along with the rest of the staff. We decided to switch all of our care to Wytheville after a horrible experience with Ballad during our first pregnancy (that ended in loss). We will be forever grateful for the staff of the women’s center and Dr. Terry and his staff for taking such good care of us and getting this little one here safely.
