Have I been INSIDE the White Home... NO. Have I gone to a farmers market in front of the White Home... Yes. This place is an EXCELLENT event venue. It is also a historic landmark. I also once saw a camel here. You heard that right a camel. The camel seemed to be in a very good mood which is odd because they can be a bit cantankerous. Did the ambiance of the White Home contribute to the camels heightened state of relaxation?

Our wedding was at The White Home and it was perfect! The inside is rich in history and the outside is the perfect back drop for a southern wedding. The staff were all so helpful and helped to make our day better than we could ever imagine.

While I had an amazing time at my wedding [thanks to my family and friends], the planning period and post-wedding experience have been an absolute nightmare. We worked with Matt Starnes, who over-promised and under-delivered. During our first meeting, Matt assured us he would handle everything, including coordinating with vendors for us - he didn't. During the planning period, I had to personally seek out and hire all but one vendor because the referrals from Matt were unresponsive. To which Matt made no effort to help me get in touch. This was incredibly stressful. To top it off, his communication was inconsistent - numerous [and important] emails went unanswered. When I confronted him about that, he was extremely argumentative instead of simply apologizing. If you receive a quote for rentals from him, I suggest getting your own quotes from outside resources. The White Home forces you to use his rental company and he charges 2-5x as much as every other company. It's disappointing to know that other people have paid his ridiculous prices without shopping around. Even after a "discount", the price was still twice as much as another vendor we spoke with. Unfortunately, due to a short time-frame and a storm coming in on our wedding date, we had no choice but to pay for it. Another instance was, due to liquor being served at my wedding, we had to pay for an off duty officer to be present per the venue contract. After our wedding, we contacted the Police Department and they informed me that a request was never submitted for my wedding date, and there was no officer there that night. Again, when confronted, Matt was argumentative and would not take accountability for missing this important detail. In the end, many of my vendors would most likely not work with him again due to his attitude, and several guests told me that he was incredibly rude and unwelcoming. The next day we were told by Matt Starnes that the sink had been ripped out of the wall by a drunk guest sitting on it. After calling around to several guests, I found out that the sink was leaking all night as a malfunction due to the property not being inspected properly prior to my wedding. My 8 month pregnant guest was wiping the floor when it fell missing her feet by a few inches! Matt should be happy it didn’t fall on her feet, but instead he yelled at her in front of a group of guests and questioned her as if someone that pregnant and sober would be able to sit on a sink. I have several email chains I’m happy to share if anyone needs further information. What he also fails to mention is that $400 worth of my paid for alcohol “went missing.” Matt made no effort to help locate the missing items. He told me “he had done everything he could” but when asked what he actually did to help he had no answer. When confronting the bartender they asked me to not tell Matt they spoke to me because he told them not to talk to me. All items were allowed to leave with one person and Matt did not follow direction or ask permission, so that is also a breach of contract.

This is a magnificent home, venue and historical landmark. Jennifer was so warm and welcoming. She connected us with a tour of the property and allowed us time to really take in the details of the home. This is a dream location for events. The staff were all very professional and sincerely love caring for this home. I can't wait to go back!

Whew! Where do we even begin!! We went into this wedding planning process excited but absolutely clueless with zero idea on what to expect or how to manage the planning process. We knew we wanted to get married at a venue similar to a plantation house in Charleston with the traditional southern vibes, but given the size of our wedding we were wanting and the logistics of a "destination wedding" just weren't in the cards. We came across the White Home in Rock Hill (our home town) and we knew during our first meeting with Matt and the team we could bring "Charleston" to us. And that he did!!! Within the next week, we signed a contract and had a date set. The venue was the perfect setting in downtown with a vast outdoor area which ultimately serves as a blank canvas for Matt and his team to do their "thing". Fast forward through many planning meetings, phone calls, picture inspiration blog sharing, etc., he truly made our dreams come true and far exceeded any expectation we could've ever had. Him and his team were always prepared for any planning meeting with design options, cost options, and layout ideas to ensure he was transparent with each decision we had provided them authority to make (which was many!). I never questioned or waivered on any decision made about our big day over the 9 months we spent together. We entrusted Matt and team with majority of our vendor recommendations from our florist, to the caterer, to the band, photographer, etc. as they only work with the best of the best!!! There really are no amount of words that could ever show our appreciation for him and his team for all they did to make our wedding day perfect (including carrying one flower girl down the aisle!) The home was the perfect back drop to the entire evening. The tent, the lighting, the decor, the bar (my fav), seating areas, tent layout etc. was all truly spectacular! Their attention to detail, organized approach, and flawless execution truly made our wedding dreams come true all while being stress free. Our families and friends are still talking about how it was "hands down" one of the best weddings they've ever been to, months after! Eternally grateful - The Wallaces!

A truly magical day surrounded by family and friends as we celebrated our marriage in the presence of God at the Historic White Home in Rock Hill, SC. Our wedding day, October 1st 2023, was perfect. A gracious and sincere thank you to Matt Starnes and his team who calmly and collectively orchestrated every fine detail to perfection.

The White Home is a historical home located in downtown Rock Hill. I attended a tour of the home. It is historically restored to its original status. I have bought several beautiful articles from the Gift Shop. The proceeds are donated to support the White Home.

The White Home was the perfect setting for our daughter's wedding! The home is beautiful inside and out and was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Matt Starnes was invaluable as the day-of coordinator, and I honestly don’t know how we would have made it through the day without him. He was amazing every step of the way, anticipating every need and sometimes having it met before we even asked! Matt took care of every vendor, handled every issue that came up, and made the day virtually stress free for us. I would definitely recommend The White Home for your event, without hesitation!

The White Home is a wonderful wedding venue and has a great staff day of to take care of anything you need. We could not have dreamed of a better day! It rained on the day of our rehearsal and they were very accommodating to help move things inside.

Not only is the White Home beautiful but it is also functional for catering staff. Matt was lovely and I personally had the best time as a part of the staff for Rockhill Pride 2023. The DJ's rocked the house, it was decorated so nicely and the show was AMAZING! Keep up the good work and thank you for directing everything so effortlessly ❤️

Very cool home and property, enjoyed the history. Loved the wood floors. The scale model of old Rock Hill and the train set provide a unique look into the history of downtown.

The White home was our venue for our April 2021 rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception. Full disclosure, this property is special to our family, as they have worked (and continue to work) with Historic Rock Hill to preserve and restore the property. The property is gorgeous, with beautifully maintained grounds and landscaping. The house itself is a beauty, with full-width front porches and plenty of southern charm. The inside has been restored an acts as a museum for both the property and Historic Rock Hill. The house has 3 bathrooms on the ground floor for guests, and dedicated suites for the bridal party and groomsmen to get ready on-site. It has on-site parking for the event, with overflow across the street if needed. It is also within walking distance of downtown Rock Hill, so you and your guests can enjoy Rock Hill without needing a car. We worked with Hospitality Butler events to plan and organize everything. (15/10 We definitely recommend!) We held our rehearsal dinner outside on the back lawn with lights strung through the trees and food served buffet style. We'd originally planned on having our ceremony the next day outside on the brick patio and our reception on the back lawn, but the Spring weather had other ideas. We still had the ceremony outside on the brick patio, but under a tent, with additional lighting, which added to intimate feel. It was absolutely perfect. Our reception and happy hour were moved to inside the house and allowed everyone to explore and enjoy it. We might be a little personally biased, but you should definitely take a look for yourself. We're pretty sure you'll agree with us!
