The service was excellent! The portions were big and the food was good! The pancakes are huge. The prices are also really good!

Cute place. Nice bakery. Service was great. Food was average. I had an omelet with hash browns. Nothing special... a hood basic breakfast.

My children and I tried Stacks for the first time today and WOW, this place did not disappoint! We only waited maybe 20 minutes and I liked that they had an intercom so we could wait outside and still hear when they were ready to seat us. Our server was so polite and attentive. The manager checked on us and made sure everyone in the restaurant was okay. But the main star was the food! OMG! So plentiful and delicious! Our food was piping hot, the tea was sweetened perfectly, and I had plenty of coffee, which I love! I will be taking my family here when they visit NC. Definitely worth the 30 minute drive for us!

Was craving good food and service and Stacks did not disappoint! The server was very nice gentleman, respectful and genuine. We had a Reuben, Steak Sandwich and stuffed French Toast and all were awesome! Even the coffee is better here! Thank you and we will visit more often!

No matter what you order, it's always more than you can eat. Everyone enjoyed their food (though my rice had a few hard pieces that had me chewing gingerly) and as always the staff was nice and the food came out very fast. Wait was only about 15 minutes, but can be more than an hour some Saturday mornings.

Stacks has great service and food. Great home cooking. Java Jeff's coffee served here and they give you a carafe.

After looking through Goggle to find a breakfast spot to eat at. While our car was being services, we came across Stacks. We pulled up, and the parking lot was full, and I thought it would be a wait. Oh, no, there was no wait and plenty of seating area in different parts of the building. With it being busy, you would expect a little mess, but not they were all working together. Love it! The manager was even constantly scanning the floor and helping the staff as well. Our server Chanita was definitely spot on making sure we enjoyed our breakfast time. She had that same energy at each table. I wanted to try one of those specialty drinks I saw posted on the wall. Chanita kindly said we no longer offer those drinks but gave me another option. Half coffee/ half hot chocolate with whipped cream, oh Yea, it was yummy. I'm calling it the "Chanita Morning Rush" she came up with a solution to keep me happy as a customer. That's what you call good customer service. Now that Big Dad Skillet was a beast, all the best breakfast meats all in one dish. That country ham was light and not too heavy so they knew how to prepare it. I highly recommend it. I must say this mom and pop restaurant is gem you never will forget. I just wished I lived closed by. They even had a loud speaker on the outside so you don't miss your table. I loved everything about this place.

Arrived Saturday morning around 10:00 and had a small wait time, nothing serious. We ordered a few skillets. The Barbacoa special skillet was great. Shredded beef had tons of seasoning, and the bed of hashbrowns was generous. Eggs cooked perfectly. The big daddy skillet was packed with breakfast meats, cheese and my eggs were firm white and running yolk! The stuffed French toast was savory, and a little sweet. The cream cheese filling was not over powering at all. Coffee was fresh and light. This is definitely a hidden gem of a place. Just great experience, large portion, and excellent quality.

The staff were extremely welcoming, friendly and the service was excellent. I had the Stack’s Lumberjack with eggs, pancakes, bacon and English muffins. I also had freshly squeezed orange juice. My food came out quick and it was amazing!! I will definitely be stopping here again when I’m back in town from Boston!

Myself and a friend stopped by for brunch. It was busy and we had a wait time of 15 mins. We got freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee for drinks. My friend had south of the border omelette and I had stacks lumberjack which had scrambled eggs, French toast with whipped cream/ blueberries and bacon. Food was delicious and the service was great.

The staff is so kind and helpful. It is a 30 to 40 minute wait on Sundays. Come before 11am! The food was good. We got the Bad Daddy skillet and Lumber special...can't remember the exact name of the pancake combo. Prices are very reasonable and affordable. Parking can be tricky. We got lucky and got in right when someone left. The menu includes lunch and kids options too so it's good for everybody. I would recommend if you want a good breakfast place in the area and have time to eat.

Our food hasn't even arrived yet but the customer service is the best I have seen in a long time. Our waitress Yolanda was super nice and happy, and even took my little brother up to the front counter to show him the desert options, and even asked if he wanted it warmed up. She just made the whole experience so great.

Excellent breakfast! Even the regular toast was good! Excellent service as well! One suggestion would be thinner or smaller or maybe silver dollar size pancakes for kids.

This is a popular breakfast spot in the area and is always busy. I love the sausage links and their house baked bread makes awesome toast. Service is always prompt and friendly. Look for a spot at the counter if your party is small and you don’t want to wait. Hash browns could be crispier, so if that’s your preference be sure to ask!

Awesome place with an absolutely amazing ambiance. Warm and welcoming atmosphere with great service. The whipped butter was the best and it went with everything. Scrumptious and mouth watering food. The sausage links were cooked perfectly and were juicy and delicious. We will definitely be back for more.

No thank you. Raw tomatoes served on my sausage gravy, dry biscuit, basically an entire salad bag of spinach on my spouses eggs Benedict, dry hashbrowns. Everything is bland and I had my hopes up from things I've heard but there's a reason they serve too much. It checks every box Gordon Ramsay said to stay away from :/ Why did my waiter tell me his mom belly dances at 67? Just odd.

everything was great, i love that they use challah for their french toast

  • 4/5 Tom P. 2 years ago on Google
Staff was nice. Reasonably priced. Parking was kind of difficult as it was very busy but the wait wasn't too bad. Coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice was fantastic. Florentino Benedict was meh as it threw me off having no English muffin and the hollandaise missed some flavor. I like my Shredded potatoes when fried a bit longer with a nice outside crust and fresh inside. Mine were mainly all soft. Chocolate pancakes were pretty good with a well balanced chocolate. Biscuit was soso and the sausage gravy needed a bit more kick or flavor of a breakfast sausage.

Just great! Delicious breakfast and oh-so-friendly service! No crowds at 6am though by the time I left the place was filling up on a Saturday. I had the corned beef hash plate with eggs, biscuits and hash browns. All were excellent, and the jug of coffee was much appreciated. I can see why this is one of the most popular breakfast spots around.

This was my first time at Stacks so I'll get straight to the point. The food is absolutely delicious! I love the fresh produce and ingredients used. Its like haveing a home cooked meal. The staff and service are friendly, attentive and personal. They take the time to know you it makes you feel like family. The atmosphere is communal, and fun. It's a cozy place great for families. I'm definitely putting Stacks on my top spots list.

What a gem!! Incredibly warm welcome from the front door, impeccable service, delicious food. We tried a little bit of a few things. The stuffed french toast, veggie skillet, and of course the turkey sausage and scrambled eggs. Everything was perfectly cooked and absolutely scrumptious!! Definitely worth a return trip for sure!!

This was our first time eating here and everything was great! Miglena was our server, she was attentive from the moment we sat down. She was very friendly and pleasant. The food was delicious and the serving size was surprisingly more than we expected. I ordered the French toast with strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream, and you will see from the photo, we definitely got a large portion for the money. We highly recommend Stacks, you will not be disappointed!

The food was absolutely delicious, we got the Western Omelette, Chicken and Waffles, and something else we can't quite remember the name of, but can definitely remember the taste! The service was absolutely wonderful, our server David was fantastic! Very friendly, took good care of us, and got our food to us quickly! The atmosphere is so fun and the staff are absolutely amazing. Wonderful place for us to visit on our vacation, can't recommend it enough.

What a cute quaint place to grab a meal! Service was awesome from the time we walked in. Everyone so friendly. I got an omelette with a mini pancake on the side instead of toast and both were so delish! I would go here more if my work schedule allows since not too far from home, but they’re closed when I get off work, but either way I look forward to my next time I can make it.

Stacks in Matthews, just outside of Charlotte, was a 4/5 experience. Food: We got the Chicken Philly, the Chicken Waffle and a coffee. The Chicken Waffle came with a fried chicken breast with a sunny side egg on top, along with a waffle. Everything tasted pretty good; the honey on the side was a nice addition. The coffee was the usual diner coffee. The chicken in the Chicken Philly was a bit too dry and could’ve been better. Service: We were seated promptly since we visited on a Tuesday afternoon, and the server was quite attentive, and polite. He cleared all our food-related queries patiently. Atmosphere: The atmosphere seems quite communal. It seems like a neighbourhood diner that people frequent often. Stacks is located in a strip mall, and parking is available. I can imagine it might get busy on weekends, and parking might be tight then. I’ll be back to try more of their dishes. They’re open every day from 6am-3pm.

I have been here enough to know not to come in to eat on Sunday unless I want to spend 45 minutes in line. We called our food in, they were amazing at following up since its been a solid year since we've been here I forgot my dish and they made sure I had the correct lox plate. Sweet tea, on point, and I am coming back for their sweets for sure.

I love Stack's. This place has fantastic challah bread french toast. If you've never had it, go try it here. They are the thickest slices of the most delicious sweet bread and smothered in butter and served with warm syrup...omg! SO GOOD. They also have some of the best coffee you can have in Charlotte. This place more than satisfies the New Yorker in me. It's a family run restaurant with a large variety of menu items and they have a separate bakery, all good stuff. You will like this place, I'm certain.

Greatest bread, you can buy by the loaf. So clean, no preservatives, you have to keep in the fridge. Make french toast at home.with bread but Stacks makes a huge French toast breakfast that is fantastic!

I've heard great reviews for this place. Unfortunately every time I have come it is always busy. Not gonna lie I was having a crummy day, but it became so much better with the food my friends and I ate here. I had the Stacks Lumberjack, my friends shared the French toast and Salmon Eggs Benedict. Everything was absolutely delicious. You ever have a chance to try this place out, I would definitely recommend it!!!

  • 5/5 Darrell R. 5 years ago on Google
In the area for a concert and saw this place had good reviews. However, I was not expecting this place to be this amazing. Amazing customer service, amazing food. I had a South of the Border with bacon omelette, grits, sausage, and a whole wheat waffle. The menu looked to good to make just one choice, so I made a few lol. This place is definitely a favorite of mine. My favorite breakfast place on the East Coast. Serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. Most definitely a one stop shop kinda place for all types of amazing food.

We absolutely love Stacks kitchen and sad to say we will not be back. On our last visit, we sat in a booth and apparently there was bleach in a solution that they cleaned the seats with. So glad to see they are sanitizing and taking this pandemic seriously. I went to take my daughter there this morning for breakfast as we wanted to spend some quality time, so I took my wife's jacket and the shirt I wore to show the owner and explain the situation. He was immediately defensive and honestly a bit rude. I did not raise my voice but simply explained that it happened at his restaurant. He asked why it took me a month to bring it back and said you would notice bleach spots within minutes. No one goes in assuming that is going to happen, so why would we be looking for that. I was doing my best just to bring it to his attention, but it was met with defensiveness. I decided to walk out and find another local place to support. Disappointed.
