First time in vail and we absolutely lucked out with this accommodation. The room was cozy, spacious and comfortable for the two of us. The ability to sit on the back porch and take in the mountain views and listen to the stream was unforgettable. The gondola was also visible from the patio and was just short walk from the room. Coffee, teas, hot chocolate and ice water available in the lobby was another plus. We will definitely return and stay here again.

Great place with nice amenities and cozy rooms! The little touches like the lights on the trees, the lobby decor, the fireplace and the ambience of the lighting around the hot tub at night make this lodge so enjoyable. You wouldn’t even need to go outside the hotel to enjoy yourself! Only wish is that the fireplace/amenities were open longer than 10am-10pm. There were several times I wanted to use them but couldn’t and I’m sure I wasn’t the only one.

We arrived after a 5 hour drive to find the complimentary parking lot was full. We sat in our car for 10 minutes on the phone with the hotel asking what to do and the best they told us was to park in the free lot 10 minutes away and walk back. We weren’t stoked on that but it seemed that was our only option so I ran our bags up to the room quick so we didn’t have to walk with them and realized there was no air conditioning in our room. In July. On the third floor. It was extremely hot. I went to the front desk to ask about the A.C. And she was rather rude when telling me about the box fan option. I feel like 200$+ per night is a lot to spend on a room that doesn’t provide a pretty basic amenity. Also- there is a wooden “barn style” sliding door to the bathroom with no seal and two inch cracks on either side leading into the bedroom. Not everyone is comfortable going about their business in front of the person they are traveling with. Lastly, I went to look for a welcoming packet with information about the property, pool, amenities, restaurants, etc… and there was nothing to help us out with our stay. Again, I find this to be a pretty basic accommodation that was left out of the room. Not very impressed all in all.

Nice ski-in/ski-out resort experience. Nothing can beat the location. The staff is nice and accommodating. Great view! The hotel needs to be booked a head of time. Will definitely go back again.

Staff was friendly and accommodating, the location is perfect, we did not drive the entire weekend as there was great access to dining and shops and the bus route was very close. The bed was very comfortable, we had a lovely view, the room was cozy and we can’t wait to stay again.

In our opinion, Lion Square Lodge-South is the absolute best hotel to stay in while in Vail. The location and view of the mountain, gondola and creek are incredible. The pool, 2 hot tubs, El Sabor restaurant are amazing. This was our 3rd year staying there; we will be back!

What a find! We walked out the door, picked up our skis from storage and the gondola was mere steps away. Our room had everything that we needed and we had daily maid service. The outdoor hot tubs are fantastic and there was even a happy hour on Friday afternoon. Parking for our car was also included. I can’t wait to return next season!

Great condo! Convenient location. My kids loved the pool and hot tubs. The condo had everything we needed. Highly recommend and hope we stay here again!
