Very pretty, should be free to enter as it's a church. However costs 3 euro which seems reasonable but then it's 5 euro for another section and 7 for the next. I really hate this way of monetizing of a church. Make it clear at the beginning and make a combo ticket. In the end I declined to do the bits that cost extra money as I just think it's money grabbing and that's the worst part of italian culture I've come across, when there are hidden costs. I also remember that Jesus got really angry at similar money practices in his day. To be clear I don't mind paying 3 euro, probably even 10 might be ok to go in a cool place and see art, but when things aren't up front thus is less cool. And I also think churches should be free to enter as they are in most places. I wouldn't have minded if the bit I had done was free then I pay something to go up stairs for example, but paying both... the whole thing doesn't seem very Christian in my opinion. Rant over

The church and museum are nice, but they're not as impressive as the Doge Palace right next to them. If you want to see both, start by visiting the church first and then go to the Doge Palace.

The museum costs an additional €7 which you pay for after entering the Basilica. I think it's pretty worthwhile. You get to access the terrace, overlooking Piazza San Marco. There are enough interesting things to see to justify the entrance fee. Also there's no queue and not crowded at all.

An amazingly wonderful museum located inside one of the nicest cathedrals you’ll ever visit in your life. This is an incredible place with an incredible history and museum. It’s absolutely worth your time to visit St. Marks, you won’t regret it, I would definitely recommend checking it out and buying the pass to see everything.

Suggestion is to come in a group tour. Entrance is inside the basilica and can be quite confusing. The mosaics in the basilica are 24k gold. There’s a great view of the square from the lookout point next to the horses on displayed outside. The original genuine horses are in this museum, kept safe from the elements that threatens to damage them. Definitely worth a visit.

Calling this a museum is misleading. Its an exhibit, not a museum. There are probably 10-15 pieces of restored / preserved art pieces at max. But I do recommend paying the extra 7euros to enter this museum for two main reasons; 1. to view the original Horses of the Hippodrome of Constantinople. This quadriga has a fascinating history and is a must see imo. 2. gives you access to the terrace of the cathedral. you get some splendid views of the city from there.

Quite beautiful. Make sure to wear long trousers and to cover your shoulders. You can't bring your backpack inside, you need to leave it in the luggage room two blocks away!

Honestly nothing too special. It’s free to go in but lots of added pricing for special areas. Also cover shoulders or you’ll need to purchase a 1 euro shawl before you enter.

Great meusem make sure you the Rick Steve's any guide. You have to pay for some of the portions of the church for the treasure it's 2 and another portion to see the wall is 2 and if you want to go to the top to see more which you should it's 5. Expect like lines for all 3 of the activities.

St. Mark's Museum is an artistic treasure trove that transports visitors through time. Its awe-inspiring collection of religious artifacts, intricate mosaics, and historic relics offers a profound glimpse into the cultural heritage of the past. Navigating the hallowed halls feels like a journey into history itself. The museum's careful curation and detailed exhibits provide a deep understanding of the significance of each piece. While some displays could benefit from more informative descriptions, the overall experience is immersive and enlightening. The breathtaking beauty of the mosaics is truly a sight to behold, a testament to human craftsmanship. St. Mark's Museum is a must-see for anyone seeking to connect with the spiritual and artistic legacy of bygone eras.

Overpriced museum mainly with religious artefacts. Worth of visiting only due to horses stolen from Constantinople years before. Apart from that nothing special. From the balcony it possible to take a picture of basilica.

Very ornate and beautiful cathedral that is free to enter. Though I would suggest going online and getting a skip the line ticket if you are going at a busy time (three euros). The ceilings have beautiful decorations with lots of gold paintings. But my favorite part was the floors and the elaborate designs in them.

The basilica itself is closed. It’s a nice museum and ok for 5 but could definitely have been combined with one of the other museums. One thing I’d say is that the balcony view is definitely amazing 😉- gives you an aerial view of St Marks square.

Amazing place to visit, most beautiful church I have ever been to. Free to enter but charges to see the Pala D'Oro massive gold screen, and to the St Mark's museum which is a definite must, especially to see the 4 horses and to visit the balcony to get amazing view of the square below. Incredible!

(Translated by Google) A great place to see the inside of the basilica from a different perspective! You can touch the almost miraculous mosaics, look at the faces of the saints, feel the atmosphere of the beginnings of Venice's splendor! On the other hand, a view of the square, the clock tower, the campanilla! Well, wonderful steeds brought from Constantinople, supposedly made in antiquity by Lysippos! (Original) Świetne miejsce aby zobaczyć wnętrze bazyliki z innej perspektywy! Można dotknąć prawie cudownych mozaik, przyjrzeć się twarzom świętych, poczuć atmosferę początków świetności Wenecji! The museum itself is pretty good but what's really great is being able to go up and get views of St. Mark's Square. A definite must if you are in the Basilica already. Look for the stairs to go up and is definitely worth the extra fee.

(Translated by Google) It may seem like a fallback given that the church is temporarily closed due to restoration, instead it gives you the opportunity to see it almost entirely from the inside, from the raised platform .. The highlight are obviously the horses of 2x00 years ago, but also the entrance with high water it is not a small thing. You can see up close the internal mosaics, some illuminated song books and models (Original) Può sembrare un ripiego dato che la chiesa è momentaneamente chiusa causa restauro, invece da modo di vederla quasi tutta da dentro, dal piabo rialzato.. Pezzo forte sono ovviamente i cavalli di 2x00 anni fa, ma anche l'entrata con l'acqua alta non è da poco. Si possono vedere da vicino i mosaici interni, alcuni libri di canti miniati e dei modelli

(Translated by Google) The Museo Di San Marco is housed on the second floor of the Basilica of San Marco, located in Piazza de San Marco 30124, in the Historic Center of Venice and access is via the Church itself. The museum has a huge collection of art collections of Byzantine and Renaissance styles with canvases, mosaics, lace, tapestries and sculptures, but the main attraction are the original sculptures of the Horses of St. Mark, Greek Hellenistic sculptures from the 4th century BC. That adorned the Hippodrome of Constantinople before being transported to Venice. It is possible to appreciate replicas of these horses at Logia dei Cavalli, an open balcony of the Basilica in St. Mark's Square, the place also has a terrace that offers a privileged view of Piazza de San Marco, the Pier, the Palazzo Ducale, the Belfry of San Marco, the Grand Canal and the Island of San Giorgio.

(Translated by Google) The visit to the museum alone is worth the visit to Venice, however the management of the entrances is unspeakable; in fact you cannot enter with "voluminous backpacks", remove voluminous adjective, it is enough that it is a backpack and here already the first disappointment, but there is no deposit service, therefore many people queue to be rejected in front of the entrance . I had never seen such a thing.

Of course, if you are going to enter they do not let you in with bags or backpacks that are a bit large, they make you leave it in a slogan, entering a street next to the basilica. You can access this museum after you visit the temple, remember to bring a kimono or a big pashmina, Italian’s are very serious about the dress code inside the temple’s, no shorts or open shirt, the land that you go you must show respect to their custom.
