Massive pub on multi floors with multi bars and rooftop. Live music, many large screens for sporting events and good food at fair prices. We visited on a quite afternoon and enjoyed our food with a good musician playing a series of crowd pleasers. Can't ask for more.

Really nice atmosphere. Lots of room inside to relax with a beer or order a meal. Visited in afternoon and enjoyed the happy hour offer on drinks £2.50, Guinness £3. I'd imagine a great place in the evening too.

Good for the footy, just wish they would close windows as it was chilly and Guinness in plastic glass as they had no branded ones and not allowed to serve in say tetley glass. At these prices you'd think they would serve it correctly. Staff great and good atmosphere and music 🎶

last night. went to mcooleys for the first time in Matthew street. This women working behind the bar, dark orange hair, half up/half down. She scammed me and failed. £43 for 2 drinks. Um, no. She tried to say i ordered about 7 drinks, i was sober at this point. No i did not, she kept saying i did after i said i didn’t, as well as my friends saying i didn’t. Very rude, attitude, no sorry, just dirty look and to go to her friend on the bar to talk about me and laugh. The bill was then down to £21, absolutely disgusting service. Make sure you ask to check how much before you pay. Tip jars behind the bar full of £10 £20 notes, definitely scamming people to pay more to keep to yourself. Taking advantage of drunk people.

Went here for my best mates leaving do. Great atmosphere bar staff on the ball serving drinks quickly. Dj with great selection on music. Security staff not over the top and really quick and polite in not letting everyone get over the top. Defo great night here

Great club. But security needs behaviour and rules correction sometime they let you in without even seeing your I'd s sometimes they refuse you entry for no good reasons. That too in same night. Lol bouncers need education.

Bad experience Refused Entry. Discrimation. Wont be visiting this bar again. Another customer lost. During Covid I was refused entry to the bar because staff said i was on my own. Staff said it was government guidelines. I never heard so much rubbush in all my life. I have been to many bars on my own and no problems. No such advice given by government as it would be discrimatory. The boucer refused to let me in despite visiting the bar in the past. Looks like the bar is more about making money from groups and not interested in single customers as they take a table. Bad experience.

The food is very good but the music is a little bit too loud.

Great bar! set over 3 floors Inc roof terrace, Live Music, Live Sports, Pool tables and Shuffle board..(so addictive!) Decent selection of drinks, good menu. Popular with hen and stag do's .

Went there at around half 2 and asked one of the bouncers if they were still serving with my ID in my hand, (haven’t been to this pub before) and he pushed me so obviously I was confused and he was just very annoyed with me and didn’t let me in, I think he confused me for someone else. But bouncers are so rude and aggressive for no reason.

IF YOU WANT FOOD, YOU WON'T GET IT! We went to McCooleys and went to order food and drinks at the bar but we was told that it is table service and a member of staff would be over to our table to take our order. 10 minutes later no one had come over so I went to the bar again to try and order some food but was told that someone would be coming to our table to take our order. Again 10 minutes later, we still hadn't ordered our food because no one had come to our table. I approached another member of staff who requested that someone came over to our table to take our food order. 15 minutes later, no one had come to our table! 50 minutes after the first time of trying to order food at the bar, we finished our drinks and left!

Rude staff on front door! disgraceful manners from front door staff! A party of 7 refused at 6pm.on a Thursday because you're female staff on door had an issue with us afte she had followed us into the slug and lettuce swearing and threatening us her badge should be revoked shame on her! Again disgrace!

If you're looking for a fabulous, lively night, with amazing live music, this is your place. It doesn't matter if you're 18 or 80, the staff always make you welcome. The bar staff are second to none. You never have to wait long and they're always lovely and friendly. The security are sensitive and professional. Thanks for a great night!!

Fab live music!!! Atmosphere was great. Best Irish bar I have been too in Liverpool. Was dark however and tables weren't cleaned etc more of a nightclub feel

Great atmosphere, whilst being pretty busy afternoon time, massive inside with 3 floors and loads teles (big and medium size) which are spread over all 3 floors. It also has pool table area which is well laid out. Staff are friendly, can imagine it to be packed on football days and weekends👍

Went on a hen do the match was on the oub was rammed. The atmosphere was electric! The only thing I can say is that we had to wait about 15 mins to be served which was understandable, the guys outside were fab and looked after us. If you want a decent day drink/night get yourself down. I'll be back definitely 👍

Great venue with plenty of screens for sports and lots of pool tables. Reasonably priced drinks, however the food was very disappointing and left much to be desired. I ordered a chicken box which had the equivalent of a mini fillet cut up very small which was placed throughout a box of chips and sauce accompanied by crispy onions. my bro ordered a burger which was very dry and burger bum was burnt. Food aside decent spot for some drinks but would go elsewhere for food should I return.

Having a lovely drink with a friend tonight- went to the toilet and a member of staff entered with his uniform on and what looked like yellow kitchen gloves ...he Did his business and left without washing his hands!! If this is the standards of the employes during covid or any other time that its abousolutly disgracefull!

I love this bar, cheap drinks and always a good atmosphere here. Often have live singers and always show major sports event on the many TV screens. Really spacious though does get really packed on a weekend. Security are friendly and polite and bar staff are great, always keeping calm when often they work under a great deal of stress.

Loved it there, it was so spacious + there was ao many tvs 2 watch,I have never been there 4 the match but it is an ideal place, everyone will get 2 c a screen, loved it

We Had a vodka red bull and Kahula and coke..... worst drink ever. Poured out of a jug !!!! And it was flat..... definitely not worth £13, and left them both :( very disappointing. Toilets - no locks on doors :(

Went to McCooleys for the first time last weekend wasn’t too bad, the staff could’ve been better, waited over 5 mins at the bar to order my drinks, the staff gathered in a group and seemed to be having a conversation just in their own world really, but luckily enough a another bartender came straight to me and took my order she was really lovely( black girl with long reddish braided hair with curls, absolute gorgeous girl) she was everything a member a staff should be towards customers, she was really engaging. Overall it was okay enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, but the customer services could’ve have been better from the rest of the staff. also think her name was Aisha not too sure it was pretty loud😅

We had only stopped for food, and it was really good! We got the burger and the spice box - loved the coleslaw. Live music came on as we were leaving which would have been real fun to watch. Large place and good atmosphere!

Went with family, 12 of us (8 adults, 4 kids. Aged 4, 6, 11 and 16) over from Dublin. Wanted to go here for dinner.. met by a very rude security guard! Singled out the 16 year old, apparently he was the only one needed to be over 18 to eat there! 4, 6 and 11 year olds could eat but not the 16 year old.. You lost out on approx. £500 over this awful security guard! It’s great yous must be able to afford to refuse family’s eating and spending £500 approx.

Brilliant friendly atmosphere kids allowed in best stop for refreshments after a long day's shopping in liverpool city centre food was amazing and reasonably priced fed the whole family for under 50 quid definitely recommend it to any 1

Beware of what you are charged in here. It would appear that even though they have their prices advertised on a menu which contains both happy hour and normal tariff prices. what they actually charge is quite a bit more.

Shocking £12 for 2 bottles of Estrella on a Saturday night!! over crowded and some nugget wanting to fight all night !Full of tourists and day trippers willing to pay London prices in Liverpool. I don't normally leave reviews but the rubbish were putting up with in Liverpool lately is a joke!

Some place in 4 levels catering for most needs I'd argue. Lower levels appear to be more music while upper floors have TV's for sport. Will return

As a part of my Sperm Donation World Tour of the UK, I come to the rock'n'roll heartland of Liverpool, where there is so much Beatlemania living on around here, but Monday night Forest vs Burnly was on, and this venue was massive had some guy playing acoustic there, only let down would be with so many floors and areas you would think one small section could have the commentry on. In saying that, a great bar would love to come back when it is more packed.

An absolute gem of a bar, situated over 3 floors and includes a roof terrace. Great selection of drinks,food looked amazing too. Staff were really friendly and helpful

Great place to have a breakfast in. Not alot of atmosphere as only afew others in. Big place with loads to do. Sport on telly, pool tables and some other game. Breakfast was spot on lovely.

Philippines cold lager in Irish Pub sounds great. Nice atmosphere and perfect location

We were exploring Liverpool when we saw a sign that says rooftop terrace. It was a sunny day so we wanted just to enjoy in the sun with a pint of beer. This place is huge. It has three floors, on every wall there's a big one or two tvs, and it has music all the time. Staff is very kind. We decided to go for snack box and nachos. Snack box was so delicious and worth the money. With the nachos i never tried chilli con carne so i asked if i can have it on a side just in case i dont like it. I usually dont eat nachos because they are always messy. This portion of nachos is something i never had before. I do believe its something you will not eat anywhere else. I think the nachos was either homemade or something you can't find it in the store. Chill con carne was very delicious, and the guacamole was tasty aswell. Actually all the sauces were amazing. They put enough sauce that you need so the nachos were not drowning in sauces. Everything was perfect. If you go to Liverpool and you want to enjoy in delicious food and nice atmosphere this is the place to go. We went back for a night out on a live music.

We visited twice, breakfast one morning and pool and a few beers the following night, the staff that on both occasions were young and very unhelpful and none of them could change the channel on the television. Breakfast was very small and not worth the 12.50 a head. I will give it another go but not too soon.

Always people about and good service at the multiple bars throughout. Good selection of beers to suit what you feel like. Plenty of areas for the sport and been acoustic live music on at the times I have visited.

First British pub I’ve ever been to where they wouldn’t let you order paint at the bar – they had a sit down then we waited for 15 minutes until no one ever came and we finally walked away. It’s the most unfriendly pub I’ve ever been to I highly recommend you avoid this tourist place at all costs.

Had a fantastic breakfast and a brilliant atmosphere when I watched Liverpool v Ajax there that night

The food was poor this time. We both ordered buttermilk chicken burger. It was dry, overcooked and in 2 layers of batter (cooked twice?). Chips OK but gone cold by the time waitress had brought the mayo we had previously requested. On the good side, the place was clean, staff were pleasant.

Food was impeccable and served within an expected time frame. Slightly difficult gaining attention to order more drinks but staff worked exectuoanlly well due to the Covid circumstances.

A fantastic place to go on Mathews street liverpool. Great music massive place would definitely recommend this place to all ages.

The music and atmosphere was amazing. The drinks are not to expensive. Tge staff and bouncers are friendly. It also doesn't take to long to get a drink. They also have several floors with more bars so if one bar is busy you can head to another no problem. Overall I recommend visiting for a few drinks!

Very poor customer services, Michael the "manager" was very angry due to myself drinking only coffee and water, he was vocal about the fact that I was apparently drunk...as a care assistant I was drinking coffee due to being on shift the following day, not because I was "drunk". This really ruined our hen party event that we were attending there. The food was OK, the non alcoholic cocktail that I made was lovely. Just a shame the power crazy Michael ruined it all and left a bad taste.
