Loved this grade 2 listed building and the roasted coffee was top notch. Service was excellent and the scones were delicious. I tend to read other reviews before posting. I have noted many owners who do not offer replies to positive or negative reviews and this is one of them. I would see a negative review as an oppurtunity to improve my service offering which would hopefully have a positive impact on the bottom line.

Had Farrers breakfast - 👍👍 Whats more is that the coffee 1819 blend is superb!! I like my coffee plain black with bitterness and this hit the spot! No photos as i was enjoying too much and forgot to take.

We had an absolutely stunning & delicious (vegetarian) full afternoon tea here. Very tasty sourdough bread. We shared a sandwich with hummus, avocado, roasted red peppers and greens & chilli jam, which was very nice and creamy with just the right hint of sweetness from the jam. Alongside a cheese and red onion relish sandwich which was also very tasty, especially the relish was top notch. Most of all we were in love with the herby cheese scones, which also had that tasty relish. Also the plain scones were very nice. Lastly, the caramel and almond slices were also great. We were served by a very nice lady who repeatedly came to check on us and top up our teas. Thanks so much for the lovely tea, team Farrer!

Cute, cosy cafe and deli. I had a lovely milkshake here, and the cakes looked very tasty. They stock lots of nice coffee, tea, and gifts too!

A great way to step back into 17th Century Kendal by calling into this grade II listed Coffee House. Although the day is a washout ☔️ a friendly welcome awaits all customers. Although I only called for coffee and cake, there is an extensive daytime menu catering for all needs. An absolute pleasure to be back here 👍🏻

Cool cafe in the hot weather, great choice of coffee and tea, the iced Americano was particularly welcome. Good choice of food on the menu, friendly and well informed service. A great family business.

This place is like a tardis inside, with the shop on two floors, & the restaurant seating on two floors & toilets on the top floor. Definitely not easy to get about if you have difficulty in mobilising or in a wheel chair. Unfortunately the high chair was absolutely dirty, which required scrubbing with spray & a cloth, before putting our daughter in. For drinks we chose to go for a flat white & a hot chocolate. Both tasted great, definitely some of the best drinks hot drinks we have had recently. Whilst waiting for food, a lovely member of the public sat on a nearby table, but unfortunately a rude member of staff came to move her, due to her not noticing the sign upstairs to be seated, but to be fair to her I didn’t even notice this, so maybe the sign could we more prominent instead of it blending in with the surroundings! For food, we had 5 Spice Butternut Squash, Walnut Quiche & a Turkey, Cranberry & Brie Sandwich, both tasted great, definitely one of the best quiches Ive had. One of thing to improve is the sound coming from the downstairs pot wash/staff area, as we heard staff having a moan about a rude table!

Visited for lunch, a party of 3. Think we got lucky as we got a table straight away, and there was a queue when we were leaving....which shows how good this place is. There was plenty to order from both drinks and food menu. I had halloumi bao buns, which were delicious! The staff were great and the place is lovely, didn't realise how big it was until I climbed the stairs to find the toilet. The decor is lovely, and it feels so cosy, with a lovely atmosphere.

Stop off here for a coffee break and wasn’t disappointed. Good covid controls. Friendly and helpful staff. Huge selection of coffees and Teas to enjoy inside or to takeaway. We had a Cumberland sausage bun, it was delicious. If you’re in Kendal this is a must see, try and buy. The store is fully stocked with wonderful gift ideas. The shop was founded in 1819 and rich with history. I found the sales ledger of bygone Times very interesting.

Absolute go to if you’re in the area! The food and drinks are fantastic. The scones are some of the best in the area. The daily specials are innovative and TASTY. The staff are friendly and the building is delightfully quirky. And you can do a fair amount of your Christmas shopping in their little shop on the way out. Win - Win!
