I had overall high hopes coming to visit The Marsh. My family have recommended it to me on a few occasions. Unfortunately, it didn't meet what I was led to expect though. After being seated, and placing my order, it took nigh-on fourty minutes for the starters to arrive. I ordered calamari, and it came overdone/rubbery, and was served with unwashed salad. We then had to prompt the waitress again after another wait between courses, which shouldn't need to be done. The service was slow, despite the building being half empty. Furthermore, don't go for a roast. I had the turkey, which was dry, and was given 3 types of potatoes. A roast shouldn't be overwhelmed with that many carbs. Two roasties is a shambles, to be then given a mass of new potatoes and mash. Give customers the option if you're going to offer all three. I sadly won't be coming back to this establishment, and won't recommend it to friends or family.

Popped in over the Jubilee weekend for some lunch and a few pints with my wife and our dog. The place was a bit quieter than we expected, but not an issue. Ordered a spicy chicken burger and for my wife, a turkey BLT with sweet potato fries. Both were served quickly were spot on taste and presentation wise. Loads of it as well, could have shared really! Beer prices are typical of the 'better' pubs in Cleck and there's a good range. Additional entertainment was provided by a local scroat who decided to peddle his dodgy wares around all the customers both inside and out before being chucked out by the Landlord. Prompted some laughs and cross-table discussions. Overall a good experience at the place. We've been before and we'll be back again.

I don’t know what all the fuss is about with this place, it really isn’t anything special. Decor and staff nice, seated and served pretty promptly even though they were real busy as a Sunday so I assume their busiest day. Pricing is very fair, some may say cheap and as the saying goes, you get what you pay for…. In my case, a plate full of bland food. Our table order consisted of creamy garlic mushrooms, soup and mozzarella for starters with Sunday roasts and beef baguette for mains. Watery soup and mushrooms that resembled the taste out of a pasta n sauce kit. Roast were terribly tasteless with what seemed like packet beef that had been cooked to death, even my dog wasn’t keen with what I took him home. A lot of full plates upon clearing up. All in all, rubbish unfortunately. Below average food.

Went for a meal here.. Unfortunately they didn't have any steak.. So I had belly pork very nice, very good table serve from the young lady, nicely decorated pub, good outside area under cover & exposed... Got quite busy for a afternoon.. All in all good friendly service from all, good atmosphere... 👍

What a place! I was part of a booked party, and the service could not have been any better. They were organized and well-coordinated. I understand the stress they were going through, but bravo to the serving staff and especially to the kitchen team. I totally understand your stress! Absolutely amazing job! If you guys don't get a bonus for the service you pulled off, then something is wrong. Top class and bravo!

We visited the Marsh pub as we had been there before. The staff are welcoming and always pleasant. We ordered the food which took a while to come but once it did it was well worth the wait. I would definitely recommend this pub for atmosphere and good food.

Just had the most amazing Sunday lunch at The Marsh Pub Cleckheaton. The first time we have been here but it wont be the last. Quality food, beautiful meat, large portion and the food is served hot. Value for money and highly recommended. The staff are really lovely and polite. Cant say enough!

Nice pub with a good selection of ales from The Snaith brewery. The restaurant is situated in a conservatory type building. The menu is extensive and reasonably priced. I have dined here numerous times, and have never been disappointed. If you want a good satisfying plate of man food, look no further! There is a Senior Citizen menu too.

Brilliant!!!! We got 2 starters and 2 mains for the very reasonable price of £36. Both courses were Fantastic. Definitely recommend the garlic mushroom starter and steak burger. They also did us a bowl with some mash and gravy in for our 8mnth grandson. Nothing was too much effort. Highly recommend 👌

Nice pub, pleasant atmosphere, nice staff and the local 'blonde' ale is very good. Given it two stars because of the above. The food, however, was poor but cheap. Ordered the roast of the day from the Christmas menu. Should've been described as 'roast of yesterday'. One slice of meat cut into two, I wasn't fooled, nowhere near enough veg, (3 sprouts, 2 small sprigs of brocoli and some thinly sliced carrot). The meat was dry, as was the single roast spud. Ample boiled spuds. And then there's the Yorkshire puddings ×2. Only ate them 'cos I was still hungry. Dry, dense and tasteless, not made any better by the tasteless gravy. Had to cover them in tomato ketchup to get them down. The price was very cheap so, I guess my expectations were too high, but there were so many great reviews I thought the journey was worth it. It wasn't.

A great pub serving the best Sunday lunch in West Yorkshire. This isn't a soggy veg carvery - the food is fresh and beautifully presented. Book, it's well worth a trip.

Good food, nice pub for a family to go to. Portions are HUGE! This is great for adults but if you have a child under 10 they will be getting a MASSIVE plate of food. The kids menu needs reworking with better options for small kids but the food is lovely!

I only saw the dining room, to be honest, and the rest room. T'was all very clean. The meal was filling senior roast dinner. I think a good time was had by all my remaining family who were there. It was good to meet together again. Only rated 4****stars cos I didn't see the rest of the facility's.

Good food and reasonable prices. More attentive staff needed for serving food, when we visited there appeared to only be one waitress working and it took a long time for service.

Only been a couple of times since the refurb but the food both times was spot on. Had the roast on a weekday and really good food for the price. A lot of older generation in for dinners as they offer discounts so a nice atmosphere when we went and lovely smily waitress. Will definitely be going back.
