Soon to open a cosy sitting area upstairs - this brilliant little independent shop deserves all the local love you can give it โ™ฅ๏ธ UPDATE June 2021 - Ginger Whale now has a cosy sitting area upstairs so you can eat in. We visited for the first time today after being wooed by the photos of their lovely food on Instagram. They certainly did NOT disappoint! A cake choice to die for, gin heaven, and delicious food to take away. The caprese toastie was one of the tastiest I've had (and I've eaten plenty insalata capreses in Italy), and my mum had the cheddar and caramelised onion chutney toastie which, she assured me, was also divine. They have an unusual - but fab - choice of artisan foods, condiments and deli snacks, and a back room filled to the rafters with both local, and small batch gins, rum, vodkas, and liqueurs, amongst other alcoholic delights. I was persuaded (by myself) that I needed to acquire two large bottles of gin liqueur, justified by the fact it was my mum's (not my) birthday. Ooops! Another joyous thing about Ginger Whale is their inclusivity: what a fabulous, friendly team they have working there. This might've been our first visit, but it certainly won't be out last.

Great little deli with a whole host of โ€˜shop localโ€™ products on their shelves and serving the absolute best hot chocolate and brownies when you need a catch up with friends.

On my bike riding some of the trails around Gomersal I just happened to pass this fabulous coffee shop and just had to call off. A brilliant cappuccino was created by the girl behind the counter and some carrot cake consumed. Excellent looking forward to a return visit.

Why have I not known about this gem of a Delhi/cafe ? ! I visit my elderly mum and brother in Birstall and Birkenshaw every week via Leeds. Always asking mum 'is there a nice cafe anywhere around here?' Now found the perfect place. Easy roadside parking. Lovely friendly greeting, the nicest coffee I've had in ages ( I like good coffee) We had avocado on toast but mum was already perusing lunchtime menu for 'next time'. On leaving I was perusing the cakes to go with future take-away coffees! Its not for those wanting a belly buster fry up, plenty of those around anywhere. It's perfect for what we want, an independent, personal friendly Delhi with nice atmosphere and excellent coffee. It will be our weekly treat . Thankyou. Jane and Meg

Great coffee. Small menu but food looked lovely. I just had an almond croissant and it was very nice. Venue is very pleasant n staff very friendly. Only drawback is steps to first floor would a bit tricky if you had any mobility issues.

A lovely little gem of a shop, me and the Mrs popped in today for some peonies (priced at ยฃ12) and ended up spending ยฃ52!!! There are just so many lovely goodies we wanted to try. The mushroom pate is well recommended and I will be popping back for the duck and chicken pate very soon, I hope its just as good. Great service and friendly staff make for a very welcoming visit, (the first of many I think).

Always pass this place when they are closed ๐Ÿ˜ข. Finally here when they're open๐Ÿ˜. Sold out of everything ๐Ÿ˜’, so they must be doing it right. However my pork pie and chunk of cheese, was excellent ๐Ÿ‘. Hopefully it won't be too long before timings coincide and I'll have lunch ๐Ÿฅ—. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
