The Hop Monkey has turned The Whitehall from what was a fairly average pub to an amazing local gem. Newly refurbished, it has a lovely little outdoor terrace to catch the sun, alongside a conservatory featuring table football, and then a nice mix of seating inside the main bar. Also a shout out for nice women's toilets! 🙌 Best thing is the drinks selection for me; a great range of craft, cask and local beers including some decent lager/pilsner. By far the best range in the local area. They also stock a really good wine and spirits range though - perfect for bringing my non beer drinking friends and family!

Wow what a first weeks reopening totally different, modern classy and the choice is out of this world to drink, the toilets are amazing and so up to date and also get to go head to head on the table football machines 2 nights of fantastic entertainment with a singer and a band and not to mention Dave and doddy the new owners well done if you want fresh class and a nice local environment where everyone talks and laughs then the new hop monkey at the Whitehall is for you we love it family and dog friendly highly recommend

Newly opened real ale pub selling up to 10 keg and 10 cask ales. Weekly quiz on a Wednesday night starting at 8:30pm. Live music on most weekends. Real fire- the pub is always warm☺

Not posh a real locals pub but friendly enough and great if you want to watch the footy

Nice to see some new life breathed into the place, and an interesting range of beers. We visited with my partners mother who was once a regular and lagers were a bit strong for her however, and the seating options could do with a rethink. The narrow perching benches and tall barrels in the back room weren't very comfortable, where as the three tables with upholstered benches proved popular all evening. Thanks to bar staff who brought over a padded stool while we were sat in the back We'll be back for another visit, but crossing our fingers for a comfy seat.

Good different beers etc and nicely done out compared to before. Also cheaper for a couple of the beers than other local places

The Hop Monkey is a great place. Nice people and the Staff are lovely. Definitely worth a visit..... different Ales and Ciders with different strengths. They also have different bands on. The pub is nicely done out and plenty of nice seating in the outdoor area. Once you have tried it you'll be hooked.

Fantastic selection of beers served by friendly staff. Quiz nights (music) on a Wednesday are always brilliant. Love a bit of Dollar…”who were you with in the moonlight…” 🤣🤣

A pub I never thought would re-open has re-opened 10 times better than the pub it was before. Very refreshing in a struggling industry. A real mecca for real ale drinkers with good staff.

Dog friendly pub and great beer selection, 8 to choose from. Lady behind the bar was very friendly and helpful. Some may say seating needs sorting. All in well worth a visit.

Superb people and a great atmosphere. Whilst the decor is not 5 star, everything else is. The Wednesday pub quiz , including a free raffle , free domino's pizza slice and a whole evenings entertainment for a pound. Please please support this place , as it deserves to be incredibly successful.

Fantastic dog friendly venue for real ale connoisseurs, with an extensive array always available. Also, serving wine, lagers, and spirits, you can't fail to find a decent tipple. The modern interior and real fire and fabulous staff provide a cosy atmosphere at any time.

Absolutely spot on ale pub. I recall visiting here when it was just called The Whitehall. That visit was enough to deter me forever. But I thought I'd give it another chance, and really happy I did. Great selection of beers from friendly staff and a great atmosphere too. Keep up the excellent work 👏👏
