So, this place is phenomenal. The place is well done with plenty of awesome touches. The service? Excellent. TY Emily F. The food? We didn't have the pretzel, the bread or the goat cheese appetizers, but they looked really good. Like, really good. The pizza was excellent. I had the Rhett Butler sans mustard. What an unfortunate condiment. Regardless, what a great sandwich.

This was my second visit to The Old Goat. We came on Sunday with a group of five (and a high chair) for brunch. We were told it would be about a 45-minute wait, but only waited about 15 minutes for a table, which was nice. We expected a wait, and considered the food well worth it. The service was excellent, and she did a great job managing all the tables upstairs as well as handling the long wait for food, which was a little over an hour after we sat down. $5 bloody marys were decent, unable to be "extra spicy" as requested, but good for the price. $3 for coffee = SO WORTH IT! It is rich, delicious, and excellent! $3 upcharge for fries? Definitely NOT worth it. I didn't order them personally, but the tiny crispy things my companions got were lame. I assume it was due to the long wait for food, but if you're charging $3 extra for fries, they should be pretty darn good. Both agreed they were not worth the extra charge. I ordered the whisky brisket biscuit. I had expected more of a sandwich, but I guess I should have known it was more like biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was MASSIVE, and pretty much out-shined the gravy, which was thick and mildly sweet. The brisket was hard to find in the mix, and the one piece I did find was only ok. Of the two fried eggs, one was over cooked, one was perfect. The ratio of biscuit to gravy and eggs was way off; it is SO massive. It lasted two meals worth of leftovers, but I needed to make my own eggs and sauce to accompany it. The hot sauce I ordered to spice things up a bit was a personal portion and quite good. Wished it had been around for the bloodies! I was able to try two of the sandwiches, the spicy chicken and the grilled cheese. Both were really great, and although I didn't get to taste it personally their take on French toast looked awesome and was supposedly delicious. 😋 Overall, we had a very nice experience and if we went at a less busy time, I think we would have given the food 5-stars. Will be back.

Great food, good vibes. I got the Charley chicken sandwich. It was bangin'. We asked them to surprise us with whatever salad they wanted to make. I do not remember what he said they were, but those too were delicious!!

First time here for lunch Saturday. Atmosphere was very cool and had piano music to enjoy as we sipped our drinks. My husband ordered the Great Gatsby which was nade with gin, raspberry liqueur, lime juice and club soda. It was quite refreshing. For lunch I ordered the broccoli cheddar soup. What arrived was a smooth emulsified, cream base coup exploding with flavors. My husband had the green cuisine. We split the board of education and highly recommend getting this charcuterie board. You won't be disappointed. We left very satisfied and will definitely add this to our list of favorite places to eat.

Their jalapeno shrimp pasta is simply amazing - creamy with a flavorful kick to it. I highly recommend their bubbly brown as well. Their bread is served warm and fresh. Pizza sauce was a little blend.

Had lunch outdoors with my daughters here at the Old Goat, and we all loved our entrees. Creative touches on classic dishes. Service was a little slow but worth the wait. It was great to see this new restaurant as part of the revitalization of this neighborhood business district where I grew up 50+ years ago.

I was disappointed just because I had high expectations for this place after reading other reviews. We got the deviled eggs with three eggs for $10 the cauliflower appetizer and brussel sprouts appetizer. They were ok but nothing special. I got the rueben after seeing it raved about on someone else's review. It was probably the worst Ruben I've ever sadly. There was hardly any meat on it (but it was bunched up to look nice for presentation. it was essentially a bread sandwich and was incredibly salty. And also it was $19 with a handful of chips. The atmosphere was amazing however cool music and vibe and great decor.

Fantastic!! Possibly the best Rueben Sandwich I've ever had... and I am a bit of a Rueben aficionado. Cool atmosphere and great service.

Just a glorified Applebees. Worst brick oven pizza I’ve ever had by far. I’ll eat almost anything but I definitely left over half of it there. Jambalaya was good though. …and they served me two warm beers… sent the first one back and didn’t finish the second because I knew I already had to hassle the waitress about the pizza

I came to Michigan for the first time ever. My friend highly recommended this restaurant to me, and i am an ohio resident. I came to this restaurant and to my surprise the establishment is wonderful. It has beautiful music and wonderful good food. The service here is very professional and peaceful. I had a wonderful gentleman. His name was JT. He serviced me and my friend, and he recommended the feature. we tried out the feature, and it was Devine. I give this place a perfect five stars and will definitely return back here to eat again. The experience was wonderful 😁🙂😊 the service was really fast and the food was very delicious the menu was really cool also and wasn't too hard to choose from.

The Old Goat is off the beaten path (meaning not downtown 😉), yet very easily accessible and quaint. They have plenty of offstreet parking behind the building. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating. I loved the Live Entertainment, which consisted of musicians playing an upright bass, piano and electric guitar. I enjoyed a very flavorful delicious meal consisting of their 10 oz. grilled sirloin (cooked medium rare), charred asparagus, smashed yukons, roasted mushroom and balsamic caramelized onion with thyme bordelaise. The steak was cooked to juicy and tender perfection. The yukons were both crispy and fluffy in texture. The vegetables get my chef's kiss. I also enjoyed the shared appetizers (oops...not pictured) of the Deviled Eggs (the flavor of the week was Caprese) and Pretzel Panther.

Some of the best service I've received in a long time! Michael guided us through the menu, helped make selections & offered suggestions on wine pairings. He was everything an excellent server should be. Food was delicious & live music was even better! Keep up the good work!

We went on a Tuesday evening, it was very busy. They had a person playing the piano, it was loud, and we all had to talk loud and lean in to carry on a conversation. The food was great, except the homemade fries were too hard and crispy for my liking. The server was great. She kept us happy with refills and asking how we were doing, very friendly.

We arrived to this restaurant at 1:15 pm today and it was not too busy. The lunch crowd was gone. The interior is absolutely beautiful. We love the goat theme, the magnificent chandeliers, the open kitchen. The restaurant and bathroom are clean and well-maintained. I ordered Pick 2 Combo: vegetarian curry soup and Caesar salad ($15) with add-on chicken ($6). The soup was so salty it was inedible. I do not understand why the chef did not taste his masterpiece. The salad was ok but the romaine lettuce was wilted. For the establishment of this caliber this quality is unacceptable. The cheetah root beer ($5) was delicious. My husband ordered a jambalaya ($22) and the primary flavor was salt, the flavor was undeveloped.

Good place, great beer (it’s Grand Rapids). The pizza is good and sandwiches are amazing. The Jambalaya was interesting, not bad but definitely not a jambalaya, a menu name change would make the dish amazing…if it that makes any sense :)

This place has great atmosphere, plus we loved listening to the jazz band during our visit (Sunday afternoon). There was about a 45min wait for the table. The food was really fantastic and the wait staff was super accomplished of my diabetic grandmother that needed to eat ASAP after being seated. However, only 4 stars because the service was really slow and they seemed understaffed. Also, really appreciated the baby changing table in both the women’s and men’s room.

Nice little place with cool and quirky decor! Good menu selection including a good beer menu. ADA friendly! Pepperoni pizza was really good, definitely enough to fill you up! The soup salad and sandwich combo option is really nice for the picky eater.

Chefs kiss to Old Goat - it’s so good! Old goat offers traditional comfort food with unique twists. The atmosphere is so inviting, cozy, and eclectic. Our service was also great. Usually they have a live piano player which really adds to the vibes. Pictured the bubbly brown cheese app, sweet treat salad and charley apple chicken sandwich - all fantastic. Update: I went back and it was still great except for the salad. Everyone got the sweet treat salads since they were so good last time, but unfortunately they didn’t come with any candied cashews and the topics were slim pickings. Not sure id try to get that again. Otherwise everything was great.

The atmosphere was warm and chill. It wasn’t loud at all, only someone playing the piano and light chatter. Our server was friendly and attentive as well! Food was so good that we finished our meals before we remembered to take a photo. Would recommend stopping here for some good eats!

The food was good. I ordered the chicken sandwich that they have. The chicken was a little dry but adding a little bit of their house ranch made it much better. The fries were good and the service was good as well.

Great find in Grand Rapids. We stopped for lunch and had a good experience. I’d like to return for dinner to see if the food is just a little better. Food was good and fresh, but it seemed to be lacking just a little “flavor”” to get the full 5 stars. Their selection of ciders was pretty good though. For our appetizer, we ordered the charcuterie board.
