Cute hostel, met a lot of really fun people. Unfortunately the location is not really ideal, it's a 30 min walk to the main square and most shops/restaurants. The bigger issue though is that I stayed in November and the room was UNBEARABLY hot and muggy despite outside temperature being quite good. "AC" was set to 25C at night when outside was 21C. Asked to turn it down and got told no. Bed was also not very comfortable and sheets were really worn out. For these reasons I would not stay again and can't really recommend.

Great hostel, with extremely friendly and helpful staff. I love the design, almost like each room is a little house built around the central lobby square. The chill area/kitchen/etc. is well designed, open plan, and social. The bathrooms are modern and clean and the beds are comfortable. All in all, a pretty winning hostel. It's about a 20-30 minute walk into Valencia centre, but bus links are easy to access. Reception is more than happy to help, either in person or via WhatsApp.

Incredible place! The personal and volunteers are really nice and always there to help if needed. The rooms are clean and quite. Beds are comfortable. And the shared space is exceptionally cozy and is THE place where you will meet amazing other travelers. I highly recommend!

I stayed here for the Valencia marathon ‘22. All I can say is that I loved my stay. I instantly met some great people from all over Europe also doing the run. Felt as if I knew them for years when I left. The kitchen was perfect for cooking and storing your own food. The rooms were great with your own secure locker for bags and curtains for privacy.

The best hostel I've ever had the pleasure of staying at. Clean, comfortable and private when needed, but the heart of this place is what makes it really special. Staff are excellent and friendly, and the common room is social, but relaxed. Karaoke night was a blast. It's like staying at an old friends house when in town. I wish I was here longer, but will absolutely be booking here again. Great location, super cool neighborhood and easy to get to transportation. A must stay.

I had such a great stay at Cantagua. It's a rather small, very sociable and homey place. It's very nicely decorated and equipped. The center point is the common area with the reception, kitchen and dining area and various seating areas. My room was spacious, clean and the bed very comfy with an adjacent bathroom, which was huge and very modern. Breakfast was basic, but since there is a kitchen where you can also store things, you can top it up with your own food. The only negative thing I can mention is it was pretty chilly in the common area. It's one of the coolest hostels with a fantastic vibe I have ever stayed at. The neighborhood is a also really cool and not as touristy as in the old town. Highly recommend it!

Hostel, Location: This is one of the nicest places, I’ve stayed so far. The neighborhood is quiet, clean and close to the city center and is surrounded by many cafes, restaurants, etc. The bathroom area could have been a bit cleaner and nicer. Common area: The common area was my favorite place because of how well it was maintained, its coziness, and cleanliness. Staff: Just wow! What a bunch of kind, warm-hearted, and nice people. Baptiste, thank you for the nice gesture, man! It was a wonderful experience and highly recommended!

This was my first hostel experience and it was nothing like I imagined it could be. Here is a calm, relaxing and comfortable hostel. The staff are friendly and helpful. Although it may look out of the way from the city centre's older districts, it isn't that far and personally I found that I headed back toward Ruzafa for dinner and drinks in the evening anyway. Looking forward to staying again.

Rooms are big and airy , bathroom same. The hostel has different service and organises different activities. The location is well connected and in the neighbourhood there several pubs and restaurants. Just the street where is located lived very loud and intrusive people

Lovely and approachable staff and volunteers, clean rooms and areas, safe to leave your personal items under your own lock key and friendly atmosphere and great boho interior style.

Amazing experience for my one week stay! First time traveling to Europe and I did it solo. Made my time in Valencia unforgettable! Met so many amazing people and enjoyed every minute of my stay there.

Absolutely incredible stay at Cantagua. I meant to stay for a few days and ended up staying 2 weeks! It’s a very cozy and chill hostel, with an open community space that makes it easy to meet other guests. They also provide daily tour suggestions and recommendations for places to see in Valencia. We ended up having dinner nights with the volunteers where we could language exchange. It was such a comfortable place and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a chill and social hostel

Friendly staff and great location. There is an option to join the hostel’s WhatsApp to have the daily update of what’s up in Valencia. The hostel looks clean and the beds are comfy. I like the privacy from the curtains for your bed and the lockers under the bed come with a lock! I only stayed a few days but I will return :)

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in - met wonderful people, had a great time. Very social. Also very clean, staff were constantly cleaning the place. Fab recommendations everyday re: gigs, activities etc. Everyone at reception helpful and friendly at all times - especially Baptiste, his recommendations were always on point, this man needs a pay rise!

One of the best accomodations I’ve stayed so far. Such a beautiful place, extremely good located in a quiet neighborhood but in the heart of the city (lots of restaurants, bars and shops around). The bathroom was super spacious, the room as well and everything was super clean and comfy. Not to mention the insanely beautiful and cozy common area in the middle of the place which was the central point for everybody. The staff was super kind and helpful and I loved the idea with the whatsapp group for the guests as well the activities. It was a wonderful experience and I totally recommend it!

Visited 11th to 18th January 2023. This was the best hostel, I don't think anywhere will beat it. Staff/Volunteers : These people are AMAZING. The most lovely people I've encountered. It is like living with friends, I didn't even view them as staff or volunteers. They are like family. We went out to party one night and they were so amazing to party with. I think I cried a little when I had to leave aha Location : Amazing location, safe area at night and during the day(as a woman). Not too far from the centre (15-20 minute walk). Cute cafes and have a few vegetarian friendly places near the hostel itself. Subway is only a 10-15 minute way as well but it's very walkable city. The hostel itself : Room- I stayed in a mix dorm with mixed gender. This was okay as they had privacy curtains and a curfew. Bring ear plugs (like you usually do) as some people can snore loudly. Beds were comfy. Mini table and charging plug so you can place your important belongings and charge phone. Luggage storage under the beds, you will have your own key to get into. Very secure. Two bath rooms + two showers , shared sink. Only problem was some of my hostel room mates liked to take long showers so was left with cold water to shower with. Not a staff issue, just a people issue. Lounge Room - They had a room to chill in which is where reception was and also where the kitchen was. They host events nearly every night but have a WhatsApp group chat for events in the city. I went to good jazz bar nights and met some amazing people thanks to the WhatsApp group. Kitchen - Kitchen pretty basic. Only had hobs, which wasn't a issue. They provided you with pans, pots, cutterly ect. They also had box and a fridge you can store your food in. Which I think was a great idea. When you leave they put your food in a free food box which other people can use to reduce waste. The people: Lovely people, different ethnicity and life background and ages. I was solo travelling and was able to meet people here to go out with during the day. Event nights made it easy to make friends and interact. Everyone tried to speak English to me which is nice, and I tried to speak bad Spanish back to them. Other: If you have a late flight like myself and need to check out and have no where to put your bags they offer a free bag storage. So you can ask them to store your bag safely while you spend your last day exploring or getting last minute shopping. I would really reccomend this place and I would like to come back here one day, I didn't explore the full city itself. Even a week of staying you will have plenty to explore and even miss some things. Gracias Amigos

The only minus in this hostel is no windows in the rooms. And AC works at night hours so if you wake up late it can be pretty warm in the room. The reception staff is amazing!! Baptist is the best!🌟

Amazing week in this cosy, clean and friendly hostel. I could even work from there the whole week without any problem. The lobby is nicely decorated and the set up is perfect to connect with the others. Above everything, the staff is next level. Big shout-out to Baptiste, Nacho and Solène who have been ultra friendly and helpful. Will come back for sure!

First time solo travelling and staying in a hostel, and I couldn’t have picked anywhere better! The rooms are great, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere / organised activities made it really easy to meet other people.

Easily one of the best hostel I've ever stayed in. Room is clean and comfy. Bathroom is nice too. Everything is designed so that the travellers can easily meet each other. They make sure we always know what's to be done in the city, depending on what we are looking for and the different events that are happening through their advices and the active whatsapp group. Special thanks to Baptiste who has been super nice and helpful!

Great experience in this hostel. The staff is friendly and always approachable, the beds are comfortable and clean (and have curtains which is very important), and the place itself is cozy and has its own vibe. As for the guests, I met only nice and open people in my few days there so it's easy to socialize if you want. Definitely would recommend this hostel to anyone staying in Valencia.

The coziest, homeliest hostel ever. With its friendly staff, small size, and beautiful common room, there’s no way that you’ll feel lonely here. It also has great amenities and privacy when you want it. Best of both worlds!

I never had such a good experience with a hostel. The people in Cantagua felt like family within a split second. This is mainly due to the cozy environment, the beautiful owners and the great volunteers! Not only because of the city, but also because of Cantagua, I felt in love with Valencia. I would love to go back!

The hostel is well located, staff was nice and helpful. There's a very chill vibe, all rooms are connected by a common area, which I found it great, specially to socialize with other travelers and staff members. The rooms and bathroom areas are neat and clean. Would recommend the place 100%. Thanks Cantagua !

Had a very pleasant week in Cantagua Hostel. The hostel is small, cozy, has friendly staff and is in the hip neighborhood of Russafa. Meaning there is nice restaurants and bars around. Don’t expect a ‘party hostel’ since it closes his common area at around 11:30 and expects their guests to be quite after. Book on their website and get a complimentary breakfast with your stay. 🍳

This hostel was everything you could ever want from a hostel! It had great facilities, the kitchen/social space definitely one of the highlights. You could be cooking one minute and sat taking to some incredible people the next. The staff were very friendly, offered suggestions of things to do, and even have a WhatsApp group to post suggestions or answer questions! If I could have scored this hostel higher I would! Great value and just an amazing experience!

I have stayed in many hostels and usually I don't write reviews as most of them do an OK job. But Cantagua was a great hostel which made me write this review. It was a small hostel which made the stay great and they have a common area in the middle which makes meeting new people easier. My room was really comfortable and the locker was large enough to fit two big bags. Also, the bathroom is within the room which avoids the reason to carry your key / key card when you have to use the bathroom. They organize a lot of events via their Whatsapp group and also provide tips on things to do in Valencia. Neighborhood looks a bit rundown compared to the city center but I felt quite safe. Baptiste in the front desk was really helpful & Awesome. I would definitely stay here if I am back in Valencia!

I love this place! It has a really relaxing atmosphere and the people are cordial and thoughtful. I only stayed for 2 nights, but if you stay longer the saying they placed at the entrance “enter as strangers, leave as friends” will definitely become true!

Such a lovely hostel! I am sad that we couldn’t stay longer cause I really enjoyed my time here. It’s a smaller hostel which I liked cause you get to know more or less all the people who are staying. The common area is so cozy and nicely decorated so it felt like I was in my own home, kind of a family vibe. Staff was always nice, polite and helpful. They gave us recommendations on where to eat/drink and what to see/do. Hostel is super clean which is not always the case in hostels so I really appreciated that. Rooms are also nice and each room has its own bathroom, only thing is that there are no windows in the room but there was always fresh air from the common area. To sum up, I highly recommend this hostel and I really hope I will be back!

It was my first time staying in a hostel, and i was thoroughly impressed with how modern the fixtures were, how warm the welcome was and on the whole how comfortable it felt as a hostel. I would recommend to friends staying in valencia or people looking for a stop overnight. Also the lovely touch of a free breakfast if you book through their own site is a very nice and much appreciated. It is important however to remember it is a hostel and not a hotel so i would recommend eyecoverings and earplugs to ensure a restful night sleep. The only downside is if you are coming by car, the parking is shocking but google does warn you of this, but you can park along the main road into the city and its only a 10 min walk...which is what i did and no problem.

Located pretty close to the central bits and bus links taking you everywhere you need to go in Valencia. Pre stay communication was too notch with them sorting out a late check in for us. Easy in and out, comfy beds with luggage storage and en-suite showers. Nice little communal area to chill in. They were very helpful with little details as well. Highly recommended!

Small, cute hostel! Some things could be improved though: The fridge is a mess, no space to put anything. Same goes for the washing baisin in the rooms: 20 toothbrushes sitting there that I'm pretty sure people left at some point. I would like some more signs with the rules, reception times, etc. We tried to check out at 7:30 but noone was there. Also, we were waken up both nights ~1AM by people having a loud conversation in the room or slamming doors, one night three people checked in at 0:30 and were very loud for an hour, singing, slamming doors, taking showers, etc. Again - maybe signs would help a little bit for people to stick to the dorms' quiet time 10pm. If you like to sleep and get up late anyways, this is the hostel for you.

It is a very nicely designed space and the people working there were super nice. However, I do want to share that the one and only space were you would be during the day was more like a coworking space than somewhere to hang out. Many of the guests were actually working and therefore there wasn't much space to just chill or talk a lot as you always felt like you were disturbing someone. This also meant that quite a few went to bed early and got up early in the morning. If you are looking for a hostel to have great vacation away from work, this isn't your best choice.

  • 5/5 Dandan L. 2 years ago on Google
Honestly, this is the best hostel I've ever been to so far. The interior design makes you feel super cozy and home, the staff and people there were just amazing and I've made loads of new friends during my 2 weeks stay there. Every evening the staff goes out with the guests so you actually never feel alone. Highly recommend this hostel for anyone who's interested in meeting new people and having a high quality stay in a clean hostel with privacy space inside the room.
