I respect and appreciate Dr. Mace and Betty for the work they do. Dr. Mace is incredible. However, the ladies at the front desk are despicable. They ALWAYS HAVE BEEN. (Not sure why other reviews praise them, those front-desk ladies must pick and choose who they want to be nice too). I've been going to Dr. Mace for about 9 years since I moved to KC. Dr. Mace has done SO much work on me that it is hard for me to imagine starting at a new dental practice. Not once did I fall behind on paying their bills until about a year ago or so when I was in between jobs (COVID, anyone?) and got sent to collections. I paid that bill. Today I called the office to schedule an appointment and got told that they do not schedule patients again when they have been sent to collections. How heartless? That it is "office policy" but they do not even have that in writing. I asked them to send me an email with their office policy but got told they couldn't because it is not in writing. It's unfortunate that great dentists lose patients that they've been seeing for years because of their awful front-desk staff and random as-hell "policies." If you want to put up with moody front-desk staff, by all means, go here. Dr. Mace is worth it, which is why I put with them for years. Otherwise, I am sure there are plenty more incredible dentists with equally great and nice staff in KC. (Make sure you ask for a copy of their "office policies.")

Our whole family loves doctor Mace and his staff. The office is clean, parking is easy, and everyone is really nice. And gentle! I’ll never need to look for a dentist again. Recommended.

Immaculate lobby with a warm getting from the staff that set the tone for the time spent here. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff that had answers for all the questions I had. Dr. Mace was very thorough in the examination and explaining how he would be performing the procedure. His professionalism and demeanor calmed the anxiety my daughter had coming into the office visit. I highly recommend Westport Plaza Dental Associates and will be a patient for years to come. Incredible dental practice with considerate staff and thoughtful dental team members! I have been going to Westport Plaza Dental for over 15 years and have seen a variety of staff and I’ve always been treated with respect and taken care of. I’m so thankful to be a patient at this practice! It’s evident they strive for excellence and to put their patient’s best interests first. I’ve moved around the KC area and still drive 40 minutes to see them!

Love these folks! I've been using this dental office for years, and they are perfect for what I need. Lexi and Dr. Scott have taken great care of me. They genuinely care about their patients and always make sure I know what's up, as well as all the options available with pros and cons. I needed some serious work done with them a while back, and I felt totally informed and in control every step of the way, never pushed into anything or rushed along. I've always been someone who dreads dental appointments, but the staff at Westport Plaza has really changed that for me. I feel better about my dental health now than I ever have before. Thank you!!

My first visit as a new patient was a great one! Dr. Mace is terrific….engaged but relaxed as well. Alexis did my cleaning and was thorough yet gentle - she was great. . The front office was extremely helpful in getting me in finally as my work schedule changes frequently. Highly recommend!

I could not have asked for a better Dental facility. The fact that they address your issue(s) and explain the process to restore the issue(s). It's so calming that one can just relax and allow the process. The atmosphere is very friendly from the entry of the desk, to the office staff, the assistants, not to forget, Dr. Scott. They all give such great care and respect to the client(s); for they are just one happy family working together for the purpose to serve. You will smile entering and exiting. Frequently receive angry emails about bills I need to pay. It’s always months after the service and they say insurance didn’t cover something but I have no itemized bill or explanation. They used to have people working with insurance who could accurately assess this but now I always have to pay extra and that seems suspicious. Also at my last filling they dripped chemicals down the back of my throat repeatedly and numbed such a big area into my throat that it felt like my throat was closing and I could not feel anything for hours after. It was pretty awful and not normal. Bottom line this practice is not as good as it used to be and I’m not returning.

Westport Plaza Dental Associates does Great Work, I leave with a Brighter Smile every time I visit. I would Recommend them to anyone !

Dr. Mays is always great, and I really appreciate his demeanor. Brandy was also wonderful today in doing my x-rays and cleaning--very professional and started the visit early. I had missed my last visit and I did not feel shamed which was great. I feel really lucky to have them providing my care.
