Absolutely spot on. It didn't take more than 90 seconds from walking in to be seated. Another minute and our drinks were served. Great food, but the real highlight of this place is the staff. Efficient, attentive in a best way. You can feel when the vibe is right and all the cogs in the machine works just right. One of the best pubs in Essex, they won some awards and I think, those were well deserved.

Great Sunday lunch. They have changed the starters and dessert, which are quite fussy to go with a roast. Atmosphere and service was up to its usual lovely standard

We were only passing after viewing a local wedding venue and I must say that everything about this pub was fantastic. The food was 10/10, the staff were friendly and attentive and the garden and inside were lovely. The menu also had lots of great, different options. Will be back here again even though we do not live very local :) (below are brie and pesto fries, pork belly bites and crispy chicken wings)

We had amazing food and service yesterday on our first visit. Food was above and beyond expectations and the two ladies who served us were cheerful and chatty. Would like to see real flowers instead of fake, but we will be back very soon. Infact I'd consider moving nearer 😊

Great Essex pub with nice food and countryside surroundings. Also dog friendly, which is a bonus and good walks close by. I have visited many times, and every time i come away thinking how much i really love this place. It's not only good food but good value too. I can see why it wins awards as it really does stand out for a lot of other places.

What a fantastic pub! We travelled over from London after hearing a glowing review from a friend. We arrived as a party of 7 which included our 91 year old grandma, my dad who has a brain injury and a baby. The staff could not have been more accommodating and allowed us to go through the staff area so that they didn’t have to walk far. The service was impeccable. Polite, fast and they were even interacting with our baby. What can I even say about the food? I always have to slum it as a vegetarian with a sub par roast but this roast was delicious. Definitely the best vegetarian roast I’ve ever had. The nut roast was flavourful and delicious - something that is rarely found. The others thoroughly enjoyed their meat and said that it was tender and flavourful. Even the 91 year old who complains about absolutely everything couldn’t find a fault in her fish and chips. I am not usually a dessert kind of girl but I couldn’t resist after seeing the menu. I had a sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was fantastic. My mum said that the pineapple upside down cake bought her back to her childhood! Great all over and we will certainly be back :) xx

Been here twice in three weeks now and both occasions the food and service have been great. The roast had a nice range of veg and sides and the meat was superb. Tonight's Seafood platter was lovely and again, great portion size. Staff was friendly and the owner came and said "Hi" which was a nice touch to.

We dined in today for Father’s Day and as always the food was stunning, great attention to detail and timely service. The staff are always friendly and we’ve never had a bad experience here.

This pub was kind enough to hold a fundraising event/quiz night for my place of work. Stunning country pub in a beautiful location, lots of spacious rooms and above all, the friendliest staff and most welcoming atmosphere. We raised a great amount thanks to the generous locals - and their hospitality was outstanding. The food was delicious and I will definitely be returning here very soon. Would highly recommend. The menu was great! So many choices to choose from! I've tried the halloumi burger and the chicken ceaser wrap! 100% my favourite 😍 Staff were so professional and down to earth! Such great team work and they made me feel very welcome! I recommend this place to anyone and everyone! I will be going again 1000%

What a brilliant afternoon! Sunday roast filled us up and left us rolling out the restaurant. Parking too with an overflow car park for peak hours. The food was superb and the service was impeccable. Would reccomend the cauliflower cheese with the roast if your a cheese lover like myself as you wont be disappointed. Lashings of gravy and a massive Yorkshire pudding. Desert menu looked great but was left so full up after starters and mains that I gave it a miss. Next time though the sticky toffee pudding looked right up my street.

5 Stars are not enough for this lovely pub. It's tucked away in a lovely little village. Our most recent visit was to a party there and the staff were brilliant even when they're mega busy. The young bar manager is a brilliant friendly host and the food is great. Dog friendly too.Can't wait to go back.

Lovely and welcoming. The chef must be 5 star creating delicious Sunday roasts with a truly home cooked detail. On one of the hottest Sundays the pub was cool enough inside to enjoy our food. Will be back very soon, handy overflow parking as gets busy. Thank you all for making our visit worth while.

Visited here for a Farmers Market held in the car park, brought some cake from @Cupcakecharls, tried some cheeses and sausages on sale too, great small market in aid of the local school

The white hart is lovely welcoming village pub. Friendly staff, very nice outside area. Had a delicious meal (seafood Tuesday) of shellfish. Enjoyed everything about it. Highly recommended.

I visited for a Sunday roast with some friends and we were all very pleased. Food was fantastic, the service was lovely and we really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere outside. Absolutely loved the citronella incense brought to the table to keep wasps etc away. Great idea! Will definitely be recommending to others.

Love this pub, the food is top notch, well presented, great value for money. I highly recommend the fish and chips, cooked to perfection. The burgers, Lovely. The place itself has a great atmosphere and I want to say a big Thank-you to Carla for making me and my Mum feel so wecome. All the people who work there deserve a Thank-you as well. 10/10

Excellent service and excellent food. The pub itself has a very warm welcome. The food is excellent value with the quality being exceptional. From burgers and pies to amazing sandwiches. I had the pork belly sandwich which was sublime. The service was also excellent and felt waited on hand and foot. A little gem of a pub and a must visit for anyone in the local area. Would highly recommend.

Come in for lunch I had the wild boar burger and my partner had the ribs. Both looked and tasted amazing the burger was so tender and juicy. And my partners ribs literally fell off the bone she said the best ribs she's had for as long as she can remember. The staff are so welcoming and polite and couldn't be more helpful. The bear garden perfect on a sunny day like today will definitely be returning on a regular basis... TRY THE WILD BOAR BURGER!!!

We went to the white hart for my 40th after reading some really great reviews. Was not disappointed, the inside was very lovely and the food!!!!! Well if you are looking for somewhere to go for Sunday roast can definitely recommend. Our starters were lovely, roasts were so tasty and the desserts were incredible. 'The egg and chips' looked so real, but also tasted amazing. The pineapple pieces being the winner and the brownie. Highly recommend

Our waitress Tammy made us feel very unwelcome and we all felt awkward! Food was very average this time which is a shame as we booked The White Hart to celebrate our child’s birthday. We was regulars for dinner as the food and service was always great but after this visit we wont be returning
