Came
here
for
my
birthday
in
my
hunt
to
try
and
find
a
decent
Indian
restaurant
in
Surrey,
after
reading
some
glowing
endorsements
of
Dastaan
on
Reddit.
After
having
some
difficulty
getting
a
table
on
Saturday,
came
on
Sunday
instead
and
it
was
still
very
busy.
The
menu
is
quite
limited
if
you
want
a
chicken
dish.
There's
no
obvious
option
for
a
medium
spiced
dish,
so
I
asked
the
waiter
for
his
recommendation
and
got
a
mild
version
of
the
already
mild
Butter
Chicken!
To
top
it
off,
he
only
brought
one
even
though
we
ordered
two.
Why
would
two
people
only
want
one
main?!
To
be
fair,
it
was
rectified
by
one
of
the
other
waiters,
who
seemed
less
interested
in
rushing
us
in
and
out,
thankfully.
The
Paneer
Tikka
starter
was
very
good
-
really
tasty,
but
the
Butter
Chicken
main
was
disappointing.
Some
pieces
of
chicken
were
a
bit
tough,
and
there
wasn't
a
great
deal
of
taste
either,
although
I
do
prefer
spicier
dishes.
The
naan
breads
were
just
OK
-
nothing
special.
For
dessert,
we
had
pistachio
kulfi,
and
it
was
probably
the
worst
kulfi
I've
ever
tasted
😭
To
top
it
off,
we
were
charged
for
a
bottle
of
wine
we
didn't
drink
and
the
waiter
who
messed
up
the
orders
then
seemed
to
be
very
suspicious
of
us
pointing
it
out,
even
though
neither
of
us
drink
and
only
had
coke
bottles
on
the
table.
After
corrections,
the
meal
came
to
around
£70,
so
fairly
reasonable.
Despite
the
disappointments,
I
still
ate
everything,
and
didn't
have
a
bad
belly
the
next
day,
which
is
mission
accomplished.
But
as
an
experience,
it
wasn't
worth
the
one
hour
round
trip
to
sample.
