Breathtaking river made a deep blue from granite in the surrounding hills! This is not for the idle adventurer. This place can be very dangerous, the descent to the river is very sharp and steep (more than 45 degrees frequently) but the reward is worth it. Lots of deep blue swimming pools litter the valley floor which was exposed when caverns above collapsed millions of years ago. Exposed drape and stalagtite formations adorn many of the brooks that run into the river. BE CAREFUL diving into any pool as you must be certain of your return route and any pool you cannot see rocks in/the bottom of may be up to 20+ feet deep. DO NOT go on a rainy day as the river level rises and the ascent becomes treacherous. There is no signal in the middle of valley where the best Cascades are, and help is 2+ hours away (an hour for someone to leave and get help and an hour plus for rescue services to arrive) BE SAFE enjoy and don't litter please!
