Definetly worth a visit. The views from the top were gorgeous and I loved seeing the guns, they were really cool. The history and little museum was interesting. I liked that you could just walk around the park at your own pace. Was only $10 entry too, spent about an hour walking around. There was a gravel road to get there around 15 minutes but manageable in a 2wd and worth the drive over
Very interesting visit to learn Fiji’s part in the past wars. Would recommend if you’re travelling to/from Nadi & Suva/Coral Coast. Would only need 30-45mins here!
This is the second ww2 battery site we visited while in Fiji, it is well preserved and and being kept in good condition. There are lots of photos and stories about the site at the presentation site. Being able to go back in time so to speak and connect with a site like this from the war period is quite interesting.
The views from here are incredible. Be aware, the credit card machine does not always work so bringing cash is highly recommended. Great place to get a view of the Fijian countryside while learning a bit about it's history
Very well maintained clean a historical site lots of information available on site easy walking around great views scenery
A great mini museum to learn about Fiji's involvement in world war 2. Not only is the view from the battery out to sea amazing but it is not often you see a gunnery still intact with the surrounding grounds of each cannon well maintained. The museum building itself is well displayed and the staff are very informative on how Momi was developed. Not much else out there up in the hills except the spectacular views. Would be a fantastic location for a cafe or restaurant. The location is isolated and all worth the trek out along the rough unsealed roads. Entry is $10 for adults and $6 for kids.
Oddly enough, Coastal gun batteries were generally positioned to give a fantastic view. This is not only helpful for firing large explosive projectiles at hostile shipping, but also makes for fabulous spots to visit and take wonderful scenic photos. Momi Battery is lovely, has a brilliant little museum with charts and photos and is generally a great place to visit.
Excellent spot if you are into WWII history. Be careful on the gravel parts of the road in and out. Keep away from the edges, they are very soft.
