Yesterday was by far the worst experience I've ever had at this establishment. I first came here 3 years ago. I quickly became a regular for weekend stays and dinner. At that time, my favorite server was EBONY. I recommended this place for my brother's birthday celebration. I spoke so highly of the Wilcox despite my last TWO lack luster experiences. Yesterday was a train wreck. Our reservation was at 11:30. Our party ordered cocktails and starters. Having Frequented before, we assured that while the bar is slow, it’s worth it (craft cocktails and all). Our starters arrived before our cocktails. Cocktails arrive incorrect. Service was very slow. We find ourselves with a new waitress. We had no idea. We order our entrees and get through the rest of our meal understanding todays climate and they’re likely understaffed, etc. Communication clearly lacking amongst staff, the assistant GM attempted to compensate where others lacked. I am appreciative of his attentiveness. Unfortunately, all understanding went out the window when one of our party overheard other staff saying “their reservation was at 11:30 why are they still here?” As we wrapped up payments, another waitress proceeded to interject and escalate a situation that had no need to be taken further. Said server threatened to call the manager, whom had been lovely to us thus far... why? I really wish they would take the time to train their staff, especially considering their restaurant’s price point. Given todays climate, it saddens me that my table of minorities didn’t feel welcomed. Do better.

We went there for dinner. It is such a beautiful property. It immediately feels comfortable as soon as you walk in. It smells old which we loved. It's beautifully decorated. The bar area is very nice. Easy to see why The Willcox is rated so high!

The Wilcox Hotel in Aiken, SC is nothing short of exceptional. Every time I stepp through the doors, I am greeted with warm smiles and a level of hospitality that is truly unmatched. The attention to detail in every aspect of the hotel is remarkable. The beautifully designed rooms provided a perfect blend of comfort and luxury, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The impeccable cleanliness and thoughtfully curated amenities made me feel right at home. The dining experience at The Wilcox was a culinary delight. The chef's creations were not only visually appealing but also an explosion of flavors that left my taste buds craving for more. The staff's knowledge of wine pairings further enhanced my dining experience. What truly sets The Wilcox Hotel apart is the staff's genuine care for their guests. Every request was met with enthusiasm and a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure my stay was unforgettable. The Spa and pool area are a must as well! Hard to find better food for dinner or Brunch anywhere else. They have excellent chefs here! Wonderful service. Rooms are clean and spacious. Pool area very nice. Sometimes parking is a problem but they do have Valet parking. Love this place! A bit pricey but we save it for special occasions.

For a place that prides itself on customer service, i received the opposite when calling to ask one simple question. Luckily, i was met with a rude employee on the phone before i completed my check out for a $1700 (approximately) getaway for me and my spouse. I was wondering if a certain package was compatible with the room i was wanting for the weekend before Valentine's day and when i called i was cut off and told "call tomorrow we are closed for a private event" and hung up on. Will definitely be taking my business elsewhere. I understand being closed for a private event but I am having trouble understanding why that would prevent someone from answering one simple question that would have taken less than 2 minutes to explain. Like i said, i was lucky to have this bad experience before spending a decent amount of money with this locally owned business.

We picked this place to have our youngest wedding (~75 people) several years ago. It was perfect then as it was the other night (~25) for a private celebration. What a great location - walking distance to DT Aiken.

We met a friend for brunch. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. I had a bloody Mary that was just the right balance of alcohol and spice. We had the triple stack pancakes, shrimp and grits, avocado toast, and eggs Benedict. I had the avocado toast, it included smoked salmon and two poached eggs, with a few arugula greens. I would definitely have it again. The server was personable, but very professional. I look forward to going back.

My wife said it best, from the first moment we entered the lobby from the rain, the Wilcox wrapped its arms around us. The cozy friendly bar, excellent restaurant, pretty rooms with the comfy beds, and friendly staff made our stay memorable. That doesn’t even touch on the unique and historic equestrian town.

Special dinner here almost surpassed expectations. The steak was perfect, veggies fresh and crisp. Our server was attentive, smiling, and professional. Lovely evening in a unique atmosphere.

As someone who grew up in Aiken and has traveled around quite a bit, I would say the Wilcox exceeds all expectations. We arrived around 8:30 for my 21st birthday dinner and, while there was a complication with our reservation, the manager and staff were very accomodating and made my father, sister and I feel very welcome. I saw a few of my high school classmates working there as well which added to the familiarity of it - shoutout to Olivia and Thomas!! Our server, Bruce, was outstanding in every way. I can confidently say he was one of the best servers I’ve ever had, anywhere. He’s thoughtful, warm, very knowledgable, and as charismatic as they come. He recommended the Pasta of the Day, which was a beef stroganoff type dish, which Bruce was able to provide for me although previously thought to be off the menu for the night. It was absolutely incredible. Its only comparison can be a pasta dish I had in Venice, Italy. The kitchen staff are going above and beyond to provide guests with even more reasons to return. I will never forget the incredible time I had here tonight, and I just want to say thank you to Bruce and the manager for allowing us to make these precious memories together. He even gave us a cute little strawberry ice cream to share on the house! There’s no question we’ll be back to celebrate our next big life event. Simply the best.

Compete with a pool, great dining, and spa this is the best place to stay while you are visiting Aiken or to have dinner as a local! The bacon was thick and juicy that delivered with each savory bite. The shrimp grits melted down the streak of my throat. the service gave me a warmth in an otherwise cold world. the espresso martinis were… aight.

I had been invited to the Wilcox for dinner a few days ago. Its a beautiful hotel. Everyone was friendly, the dinner was perfect. I was very impressed with our waiter, Emanuel. His presentation was very appealing. Very knowledgeable of the menu and food being served, courteous, and respectful. I couldn't commend him more. Thank you for such a pleasant experience and having Emanuel is truly an asset and compliment to your establishment. Darryl

My wife and I stayed the night here after our wedding. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. We were greeted with champagne and warm smiles telling us “congratulations!”. We got checked in and they had left us a sweet surprise and card in the room. How thoughtful and generous that gesture was. The room was wonderful. Excellent furniture and decor. Such a lovely, cozy ambiance. Is there a paint chip here or a wallpaper mark there? Yes, but that’s what makes a historic hotel like this feel unique and beautiful. The room/bathroom had everything we needed included the most comfortable bath robe I have ever worn. The next morning we ordered breakfast and had it brought to the room. Nothing better than breakfast in bed after all. I didn’t think something as simple as breakfast could be elevated in taste so much but these chefs have found a way to do it. Even something as a simple as toast was elevated to a superior level in taste. The breakfast was delicious. Afterwards we went downstairs for a couples massage. I have never been so relaxed in my entire life. The massage therapists here are true masters of their craft. They were so personable and explained what they would do and asked if we had any requests. It was excellent. After the massage we sat down for lunch a a wonderful table in the corner of the lobby surrounded by large windows. The lobby is so inviting and clean. The lunch was superb and the butternut squash soup is an absolute must have. Perfect for the season/weather. All in all, I cannot thank the Willcox staff enough for making our wedding night and next day as special as it could be. They went above and beyond repeatedly and without being asked. You truly made our wedding day that much more memorable. Thank you!

Wow what an amazing place! Easy to see why it has won so many awards. The building is a work of art with impeccably appointed rooms. The staff brings back service and luxury of a by gone Era to modern day. Do not miss this place if possible.

The Wilcox was a wonderful place to experience the lovely town of Aiken with a southern charm ombiance. Comfortable rooms with excellent food and extremely friendly staff. The chocolate bundle dessert was so amazing! The lobby and restaurant area are so very comfortable and well appointed. The pool area was so relaxing with the waterfalls running in the pool. Wonderful landscaping around the hotel. Discovered the best clothing shop just steps away from it. Affordables Apparel was the best clothing store we visited. Thank you, Aiken, for a wonderful visit.

We have not stayed in this hotel but whenever we are anywhere near Aiken we always eat in the restaurant. It is beautiful with a lovely mellow Southern vibe. The service is excellent. The wait staff are friendly and the food is reliably very good

I want to start out with the positive, which was that the staff and the overall place had a cozy bed/breakfast feeling. Staff was exceptionally friendly, and showed good old fashioned southern hospitality. Gina, and Katy in the dining room were charming and very helpful. We were traveling with our dog for the 1st time and had come all the way across the country with him. The problems were with housekeeping, they forgot some hand towels and didn't replace our shampoo/toiletry items. When I went down to the front desk to ask if they could just give me some replacements, the front desk said they would be brought up. When we returned to our room later that day, there was clear bag filled with clean fresh towels, and mini shampoos/conditioners etc. like just dumped there. They didn't bother to even put them away on the shelves- just left a clear maid's bag in the middle of the bathroom floor. The pet friendly room 301 was roomy and set up well, however the large king sized bed had a HORRIBLE mattress that dipped in the middle! I mean really obvious! I know they were aware of it because they tried to put a feather bed over the mattress to alleviate the problem, but both my husband and I woke up each of the 4 mornings we stayed there with a sore back! Also on that bed, was a blanket with a hole in the corner. It just seemed like with all the competition in town for a high end Inn, they would have paid attention to those details. If management/owners are reading this- It's time to spring for a new mattress for room 301!

This is our absolute favorite restaurant in Aiken. The food is amazing. I am gluten free and have a few other allergies. They have many things that I can safely eat and are so accommodating to change something if needed. Our waiter Bruce was fantastic as well. He was so friendly, answered all of my questions, and suggested accommodations to make it allergy friendly for me. He was the best waiter I’ve had in a very long time. We will definitely be back and ask for Bruce.

Lovey and comfy cocktail lounge. The drink prices are better than average. The ambiance and service is great. A couple of dinners that I had there were merely fair in flavor. Otherwise, I do recommend The Wilcox!

I had never seen the Willcox until the other day when my friend Mary Watts invited me to lunch as I was returning from a Georgia funeral. We buy ads in her magazine for a client. What a charming and most delightful place! The Willcox is a destination within itself. I wish I could rate it a 7! Lunch was above scrumptious, as the New Year's soup was at least equal to the shrimp and grits. We were only there for lunch, but based on that and touring the inn some, I was captivated by the service, the history and the enchanting ambience. The warmth, sincerity and Southern hospitality was well matched to the imposing magnificence of the inn. Mary and I truly enjoyed every minute there.

We stayed here in May when we prepared to close on our home and also used the stay as our baby moon. We absolutely loved it here. While we had heard from others that it’s not really kid friendly we found it to be anything but that. The front desk lady was so sweet to our boy. The other staff was incredibly kind as well. Our room was spacious and clean. We loved all the antiques and trueness to keep this hotel a true time piece. We recently went back with our four sons to celebrate our oldest birthday. Our dinner was fabulous and again the staff was great, accommodating and left us wanting to come back again! Thank you Willcox for being this now locals favorite! ♥️

The building is beautiful inside and out!! Nice comfy chill lighting, beautiful wood through out the bar and restaurant area, and the staff were all really great! The food on the other hand honestly was mediocre. The prices were a bit higher than Applebee's prices depending on what you ordered. The worst part of the experience was how friggin long it took to get our meals. It seriously took 45 min after we ordered to get our meals.... the long Island iced teas were spot on though!!!

One of the best meals I have had in a long time, definitely the best in the area. Bruce made the evening about as great as possible, fantastic service and personality. Everything he recommended was simply amazing and “out of this world” as he described. We will definitely return and would recommend to anyone that wants a fantastic evening and amazing food.

Beautiful hotel with wonderful hospitality. The Wilcox exemplifies southern sophistication. I stayed here whilst looking for a house and was just a little sad having found a house I would not be enjoying my stays here any longer. I was so well looked after and as a single traveller found both staff and locals very friendly. The restaurant food is excellent and there is a great atmosphere at the bar in the evenings. Aiken itself has much to offer, particularly if you are an Equestrian. All in all, I can highly recommend a stay at The Wilcox.

Very impressive hotel. Extremely clean and comfortable. Everyone working there were professional and friendly. Once we were checked in, the host, while escorting us to our room., told us of the history of the hotel. What a wonderful touch of class. The free breakfast is in their dining room and the chef prepared only once the waitress took our order. No scooping out powdered eggs here! There are many shops and restaurants just blocks away. The area feels very safe. We walked just 5 minutes away for a great lunch at "Whiskey Ally" and then back again after dark to dine at the "Fuse". Very enjoyable walk to the restaurants and shops and back to the hotel. I highly recommend The Wilcox Hotel. We can't wait to return again in the future.

The Willcox Hotel is quite the Southern gem. We served as wedding photographers at this location and had an incredible experience. The whole place is beautiful, the staff was very helpful, and the food phenomenal. Aiken in general has beautiful corners, and the Willcox is located at the center of this charming little city.

Two of us went for dinner this week. The lobby area was pleasant and welcoming. Our server, Austin, was friendly and attentive. Food was great. Will certainly go again. Try the cheesecake for dessert!

For a company that prides itself on providing the best customer service and hospitality, I can say it did not live up to expectations. I booked a massage two weeks out for my wife's birthday. This was a major part of her present because she works long hours and deserves the treatment. I confirmed multiple times with the young lady on the phone the appointment day and time. Fast forward to the day, we show up to the main lobby and the spa concierge cannot find our booking. She was nice and apologetic but ultimately nothing was offered to squeeze us in or explain why the booking was missed/bumped. We were ultimately offered to reschedule and a spa pamphlet. I was floored. My wife was understably embarrassed and I did not want to cause a scene to the diners so we left. I called for the manager and left a voicemail but no action was taken. I understand they are busy and to them it was considered a small mistake and likely not much of a loss to their business. To me it was an important planned part of my wife's birthday celebration and to her it was a missed opportunity for some much needed pampering. I am not saying you will experience the same service we experienced here but I would consider looking elsewhere to treat your loved ones.

WOW!! WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! It was our anniversary and happened to fall when we could stay at The Willcox for jazz night. We stayed in an absolutely gorgeous suite. Dinner every night could not have been better. Our waiter, Tristan, was 5 star as well. Our entire experience was perfect and we cannot wait for our next visit. It's truly a special place. Thank you for a grand memory!

Boutique Hotel with fabulous halls/rooms. In a historic building. Great roof top bar with nice seating outside not feeling cramped. Good cocktails. The inside portion of the bar has a tendency to be a bit loud although they do have seating on each side of the bar inside as well that is a bit quieter. It was the customer voices "in the area" that were loud. Restaurant on main level nice food choices.

We loved coming here over Valentine's Day weekend. They had a wonderful set up in the room for our dog and a welcome basket with dog treats, a dog pillow, and dog bowl! The bed was luxuriously comfortable and the room had everything we needed including a mini fridge. Definitely go to their restaurant too, excellent food and service. Was too cold to swim but love that they have a saltwater pool.
