Kimberly Reischl is the most distasteful person I have ever met. She has no integrity and this is the first step in reporting how she treats her staff and guests. Her attitude is disgusting and she treats employees poorly who have been with the company for +10years. Obviously there is no loyalty to the employees with her in charge. If you're considering donating money to this non-profit think again and donate it where it will be appreciated and where they treat the employees with common human decency. The companies that sponsor the events don't even get the proper advertisement and she lacks management skills. If you cannot politely handle staff and guests then you should not be putting together events or coordinating anything. It looks like she lied on her resume because she lacks organization, basic communication skills, and basic team management qualities. The worst part of the experience was that I was blackmailed and told if I reported how she treated guests then I would be reported myself and not paid for services. Disgusting

The gardens are beautiful towards the end of June but felt mislead about admission on their website. It says free to visit just call ahead to check if there are any events, which I did and was told it was a great time to visit. Drove pretty far, turns out you can visit but you must pay to take photos. Would be nice if that info was updated under the garden section on their website.

Pros: The property is absolutely gorgeous and the gardens were so nice to walk through at the beginning of August. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very large in the Dowd Suite. Spacious room. Nice amenities in the bathroom including safe, bathrobes, and more. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Upon checking in, the front desk attendant immediately noticed we’d need a cot and had one sent to our room before we even got there. Great location in an upscale neighborhood. Cons: I understand this is a historical building, but our room was very musty smelling. Interestingly, the hallways, reception, conservatory, and our bathroom smelled fine. It was the room itself that was difficult to be in because of the smell. Carpet is very run down & stained and needs to be replaced. Upholstered furniture also very stained. Patio ended up being a shared patio and other guests on the property in the room next door were using most of the patio furniture so we were unable to enjoy sitting outside our room. Hot water served at breakfast was lukewarm at best. I had to go upstairs to the hallway water dispenser to get hot water for my tea. The upstairs touchless water dispenser was difficult to operate. If you didn’t have your hand/finger JUST SO hovering over the sensor, it kept shutting off. There were three of us in the room but we only had enough towels for two. On the day we arrived, the bellhop ended his shift at 3 pm. Check in isn’t until 3 pm. I’m not sure why the hotel wouldn’t have someone on later for guests checking in. Maybe it was an anomaly? For a hotel of this stature and price, I think there could be more attention to the little details.

The staff is outstanding. I felt like royalty with each staff member. Breakfast made to order and the fruit was fresh and ripe. If you like a firm bed, bed will be perfect. I especially liked the pillows.

Staff was super friendly and accommodating, the house was superb and very clean. Honeymoon vibes. Gardens even in the winter we're to die for. Highly recommend a night stroll through the gardens and around the neighborhood, very beautiful.

Beautiful historic home in the heart of Charlotte. The grounds are immaculate and open to the public - anyone can wonder around, you don’t need to be staying at the hotel. Definitely worth a visit! Ask the front desk for a map of the property. Great spot to spend a couple hours of an afternoon! Tons of gardens to explore.

The Mansion and gardens are exquisitely maintained. The staff was super attentive and courteous. Our King room on the 3rd floor was beautifully appointed and decorated the bedding was top notch. The also provided very comfortable bath robes . The bathroom was spacious and the towels and complimentary toiletries were also very nice. What was really amazing was breakfast served in the solarium. A great breakfast menu with delicious choices. Portions were very generous and included juice and coffee. We plan to visit again. A perfect stay!

This place is just absolutely gorgeous. Attended their music in the gardens series and it was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Since It was raining the event was moved indoors but that was ok because in or out the whole place is beautiful.

The Duke Mansion is the perfect place to plan any important get-together. The event spaces are so sophisticated. The garden surrounding the property is a lovely backdrop for any occasion. The kitchen serves up a delightful spread, whether that’s the complementary breakfast or catering for your event. We had a wedding with most of the guests being out of state. This was a stunning venue that met an unfathomable number of needs for our big day. I couldn’t have imagined a better venue. Also, Katie was our point of contact. She handled all our needs speedily and with class.

Lovely and charming. We stayed one night for our anniversary. The staff is friendly, the property is full of history with beautiful gardens. The breakfast was very good. We took a walk outside the property and it was great to have such lush greenery all around and so close to Uptown. If we will have family/friends in town, we will recommend this place to everyone we know. Great find and gives a perfect feel of Southern Charm.

Our favorite spot to come visit the gardens. Architecture is beautiful and gardens are breathtaking. You can enter for free and walk around.

Had a great time in Charlotte and picked this inn as I was proposing to my girlfriend and she loves gardens. Even though it was raining, it still provided a great atmosphere and we loved our stay. The room was great and the bed was probably one of the most comfortable I have slept on if you like soft beds. We had heard so much of the breakfast served here but honestly I wasn't that impressed as the biscuits were so hard and the sausage had no flavor to it. I would still come back and stay and would love to see the gardens in the spring/summer months.

We stayed for my husband's birthday. So much history in the mansion. Great location within walking distance of a few wonderful restaurants. We will definitely come back!

I had out of town guests for the weekend. As a special treat, I took them to the Duke Mansion for breakfast. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast service and food were great.

We went for music in the garden. The sound system was not working, so we missed a lot of it, but it was still nice to get out and enjoy the garden.

What a beautiful bed and breakfast. This place has such a rich genuine feel. The mansion itself is beautiful, the gardens are absolutely stunning and the breakfast could not have been better. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom clean and our room was so quiet! The staff are so kind and accommodating. Duke mansion is in a prime location. We could not have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

As wedding photographers, Duke Mansion is always a pleasure to shoot at. The property is clean, well kept, and just stunning for photos. The staff is wonderful to work with as well, and we can’t recommend them enough.

Spotless, well maintained and good sized historic yet modernized room a mere $10 or so lyft ride from the stadium to watch the terps beat nc state at the mayo bowl. Price competitive with other nice city hotels, with the fantastic breakfast helping to make it rise above the rest, along with unheard of free parking

It's been an honor to be a banquet server with the staff here. The place is gorgeous, but the team makes the dreams come true. Whatever the occasion, this staff has the gifted hand.

Very beautiful hotel/mansion. Very friendly staff and nice and quiet environment. Enjoyed the gardens. Loved the scentiful rose garden and yard. We had our team meeting there and it provided a very homely environment.

Was a grand place and every one was very friendly. Love the history but our room was very plain compared to the rooms in the photos you see in the advertising. They are very lush and ours was very nothing. My price was the same as the very nice rooms.

Spectacular grounds and gardens. Breakfast was excellent. Sraff is friendly and helpful. We stayed in the servant's quarters on the 3rd floor by choice. While the room was small it was well appointed and comfortable.
