Our first visit here - but not our last!!! The fish was among the best that I have ever had - and the staff was even better than that. Top it off with phenomenal live music and a great atmosphere. Top that all off with the fact that it is family friendly. Can’t wait to come back.

**second trip here, we sat at the bar, the bartender was a little cold, but still pleasant when dealing with people, the mushrooms were still out of this world delicious, my husband just did a bowl of chilly and i tried the daily special of a burger in a wrap. It wasnt bad, but probably something i wouldn't order again. The drinks were good. Maybe we will give it another try one day******* We have been past this place many times and finally decided to stop and check it out. The bartender was very help, and super sweet. Made us special drinks even though they were from the past holiday. Then our waitress came and took our order, I asked what the soup of the day was, she said she didn't know but would go ask. She never came back to let us know. We ordered the stuff mushrooms and OMG they were out of this world delicious. We continued to wait for our waitress but she was standing around having fun with some of the other waitresses. So I went back to the bar to order another round of drinks. Our food was good. Drinks were great, bartender was wonderful, waitress not so much! The place looks like it provides some great entertainment. We will definitely come back to give it another try, but this time we will sit at the bar.

Smokey Joe's is a frequent stop for my family and I, my sister went to school with the owner's daughter and it has since become a regular stop for us. Always good food and good times. Our waitress Shelby did a really good job today! Thank you πŸ‘

The food was delicious. We got the BBQ stuffed mushrooms, brisket flatbread ,burnt ends plate, and bread pudding. Brisket was tender, and the bark was amazing. Fun atmosphere as well. Will definately be going back.

I usually don't leave online reviews but today I decided that I will. Today I placed an order at Smokey Jo's which is roughly 10 miles from my house. I ordered chicken fingers and burnt ends and selected the option to have them tossed in BBQ sauce. Shame on me for trusting that the order was correct and not checking the bag. I get home and low and behold there is no BBQ sauce. I can see if they some how forgot to cook them in the sauce. But they didn't have any BBQ sauce on the food or in the bag. So I almost let it be but then I noticed that some of the chicken fingers had been fried with no batter. I order burnt ends office and no that there is a process to smoke them accordingly but these were some of the crappies burnt ends that I have come across as of late. I called the restaurant to voice my concerns. The young lady who answered the phone says "oh we have a new cook in the kitchen, would you like to come back to pick up the BBQ sauce. Well of course I don't want to travel 20 miles for BBQ sauce, not to mentioned they should have been tossed in the sauce when being prepared. The young lady didn't offer to make any ammends so I requested to speak to a manager about it but then they put me on hold for 20 minutes. You can clearly hear someone pick up the phone every few minutes to place me back on hold. I'm usually willing to chalk it up as a bad restaurant experience but in this case I felt as if they were totally dismissive. I expect to be treated better when opting to spend my money with an establishment especially when I choose to skip over so many other options, and tipped the staff for the carryout. With that being said be sure to check your food and play at your own risk but I will not be returning.

This place always shines with its BBQ menu (duh) but I was so impressed with the special touches "my cousin Vinny" added for St. Patty's Day. NOTE: this is the ONLY place anywhere near Monee that has great Guinness on tap regularly. The corned beef and cabbage was a heaping portion, the smiles of everyone diving in was a testament to the flavor. There was a green drink others ordered, garnished with a bright orange slice to mimic the colors of the Irish flag. The servers reflected the high spirits of the revelers. Live music with no cover several times a week, along with musician-curated house music makes it a place to love.

Had a craving for a good burger. Husband and I each got the mushroom swiss cooked medium. Burger was thick but completely dry and flavorless except for the char taste. Son liked his chicken cheddar wrap. Onion rings were pretty good. They no longer carry the strawberry avocado salad on the menu that was the only option for a vegan family member. Definitely a let down for 3 out of 4 of us. Order was ready on time on a Saturday night.

It’s hit or miss with this place. Usually my ribs are very good and falling off the bone . This time it was dry as if they given me the bottom of pan old ribs. Not good at all. Mostly bones and no meat. The sides are always decent. The kids meal are good too i oils rather have had a kids chicken tenders than this meal

Smokey Jo's is consistently better and better. Very good food all the way around and a wide variety. Their BBQ has really stepped up. I'm a big fan of their rib tips. They're big and meaty and cooked to perfection. Service is generally very good and the bar has some great entertainment and an awesome patio in the summer. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, or drinks. These guys nail it.

The place looks really cool, went there with friends. I got the brisket platter, and man that was the driest and most grey 5 thin slices of brisket I’ve ever paid $16 for. Coleslaw unfortunately had no flavor. Potato salad was good. Service was great. They were super attentive. I was surprised that they even let that leave the kitchen.

I would gladly give this restaurant 5 stars for the food if it weren't for the $11 8 ounce beer on the menu. No prices and no pour sizes. Waitress failed to inform us that the beer was $11 each. We would've gladly made another choice if we had been informed. A Three Floyds Ale that was pretty good but not $11 good. The killer smoked wings, BBQ and brisket chili have had us taking the 45 minute drive about once a month. This experience will ensure a good long break from visiting Crete. People who work hard for their money should be well informed of their choices on your beer menu.

I placed an order for three slabs of baby back ribs to go. Two slabs of ribs were fine but the third slab of ribs was burnt to a crisp black and charred. Totally un edible. I contacted Cory the manager and she told me that I had to bring the food in so they can inspect it and refuse to offer me any compensation for the uneditable ribs. She said that this was company policy. I can’t believe a restaurant would make you bring in bad food in order to get compensation. Terrible customer service. Stay away from this place. Do not order any takeout food.

The food is absolutely awesome! The restaurant atmosphere is very unique, music oriented bar night life. They have outside patio seating and a wall of windows that open to the patio area providing a unique feel and openness to the seating area with lots of natural light. Old and young enjoy the menu and their in house smoked meats.

Maybe above average for dinner but breakfast was so-so. I had the cornedbeef hash and was not impressed. I know it was homemade but it is my personal preference that the hash be put through a grinder. After all it is a hash. The beef and potatoes were just too large for me. It is a texture thing. The bacon was excellent though and my companions were good with their meals. The portions were good sized. The waitress did reach across everyone breaking up conversation on several occasions.

Would gave food 5 but when kit hen staff questions server why a customer wants to know how fresh brisket is and server tells us they wouldn't tell her I went w a pizza instead. Kitchen staff should never question server when asking for a customer. Drinks were fabulous and joes is getting better every week..loved our server she was a hoot and we talked bout smoking n bbq the whole time as her family big into it as I am, her dad has 3 smokers n I just got my 4th. So unfortunately no 5 star on food do to a cranky cook..

Quality food and unbeatable prices in this nice little bar/restaraunt setting. I did see that they had darts. They also have a patio. I sat at the bar and order a drink and some food, both came out with no issue. They weren't too busy when I was there. Very casual place

Really fast service. The brisket sandwich was phenomenal. Just enough char, not overly fatty. Great flavor. The nachos are huge!! A meal by themselves!! Definitely add the brisket pieces.

Came here to watch the bulls game and eat some good food. The bbq platter was just big enough for two people to split. They were out of the brisket but let us substitute the burnt ends no problem. The live band was also playing a good show!

We love Smokey Jo's! The food is delicious, the servers are attentive, the drinks are "full" and the entertainment is always hopping no matter what the genre. It really has become our "place" for lunch or dinner and even sometimes breakfast (when we aren't at Woods Corner). We really love the fun, hometown vibe! They even do their Queen Of Heart Raffles to help support those in need and are a great place to have a little get together or event. We have been to quite a few there and it's always a great time! The only complaint we have is that there sometimes is not enough parking due to them being on the corner. They do their best to accommodate with the area across the street and behind the building but sometimes it fills up quickly.

I just want to say "Thank you" to all who helped in making my Mom's 80th Birthday so special!! The Service, Food and just everyone being so helpful and accommodating. ( Excellent staff) I must mention the meatballs were amazing!! A special "Thank you" to Cindy the manager for being so helpful and how efficiently she helped me plan the party with her great suggestions. We highly recommend Smoky Jo's for the food and excellent service!

Enjoyed breakfast with a friend on the patio on a beautiful morning recently. The food came out quickly and was very good. There aren't a lot of options on the breakfast menu (dieters may find their choices limited to nil) but they seem to do what they do very well. The service was professional, prompt and friendly.

My friends and I stopped in after a LONG night shift, for the first time. No hyperbole. I've never been somewhere that was so welcoming. From the time we walked in, it was clear it was OK for us to be here. Throughout our meal, we were engaged by a gentleman that showed genuine concern for our stay, and comfortableness. I take service very serious. I believe in giving credit where it is due, and in this case it is DEFINITELY DUE. 3 Cheers. Keep up the good work! I will return for sure!!!!!
