My fiancé and I share the same sentiments as Sean from a previous review regarding the abrupt cancellation of a block of rooms, in our case just two weeks before our wedding. We secured 40 rooms for our guests, only to be notified abruptly about the hotel's extended closure for non-emergent renovations. It was only the day after explaining that they are in breach of contract that they verbally told us it was an “emergency.” The management, especially General Manager Kathy, who apparently has 30+ years under the Marriott banner, showed a shocking lack of empathy. The ordeal added unnecessary stress and incurred extra costs for us. Their attempt to remedy this gross oversight? Merely transferring our reservations to another hotel, trying to convince us that we were getting free breakfast even though it was complimentary, and offering us points equivalent to a single night's stay in a basic room. This was disgraceful. We were left with no choice but to escalate the matter with Marriott Corporate. I would strongly caution anyone considering a stay or event here to think twice; the management seems ill-equipped to handle even basic crisis management.

As many others, my fiancé and I were part of the group whose wedding blocks were cancelled on shortly before our wedding(one month). Our 90 guests and us were left to figure it out as they had thrown us at another hotel that could not accommodate us in the same way we had originally booked. We received this news Thursday 8/24 via email and never even received a phone call. We had to call on Sunday 8/27 to let them know we had booked a different hotel and they told us ( we have it in writing) they would pay for our shuttles and our room. Tuesday, 8/29 we received an email stating they actually could not do that unless we booked at another hotel of their liking. It took them 5/6 days to find another alternative to the hotel that couldn’t accommodate us but were ready to blame us when we booked a different hotel( Kathleen Evans stating “you were given the choice on hotels”) NOT ONCE WERE WE PRESENTED WITH OPTIONS AND IN FACT NOT EVEN CONTACTED UNTIL WE CONTACTED THEM. It’s a shame that this “business” would even allow us to set up a wedding block with them knowing their circumstances. I have yet to receive an apology and in fact when speaking to Kathleen she hung up on me without ever apologizing for the abrupt cancellation. Sorry excuse for a business and a gross management staff with no basic human empathy.

This Hotel canceled my entire Wedding block 5 days before my wedding without warning. It has displaced my entire wedding, vendors and guests. They were very unprofessional, and kept repeating that they were all losing their jobs instead of helping my fiancée and I. Marriott corporate has yet to help me. As I am typing this I still do not have a place for my Wedding block. If this hotel ever reopens I would never recommend this place to anyone. I always thought Marriott had higher standards then this.

As many of the other reviews mention, this hotel canceled an entire block of rooms just a month before a wedding. Things happen but the staff was nothing but rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful. They told the bride at least it wasn’t her venue or her dress. Don’t expect a nice experience if you book here.

Cancelled a whole block of rooms two weeks ahead of time with no compensation aside from a refund. Think the emergency renovations are related to the mold problem discussed in other reviews. Caused quite a hectic rescheduling for wedding guests traveling from out of country.

I couldn't be more disappointed with this hotel or Marriot in general. I had 30 plus rooms booked for my wedding in October and I learned through fire and oak that the hotel was actually going to be closed by the time my wedding came !!! The staff didnt even have the courtesy of calling me and when I did finally get in touch with sales AFTER A WEEK she (Kathleen Evans) was nothing short of nasty! it didn't stop there! Kathleen Evans promised me she'd figure everything out and even sent an email to all of my guests ensuring that they were booked at the Hilton, this was false! I had to immediately make contact with Hilton seeing as all of my guests thought they were booked there when I wasnt even contracted yet with the hotel. This a experience has been an all around nightmare. I have contacted corporate also and have yet to hear back about my claim ! Once again I am very disappointed with this experience and can assure you Marriot will be my last pick for future hotel stays.

Would not recommend staying here at the moment because they have a mold problem. We are located next to rooms that have sealed doors with plastic and I saw two guys in hazmat suits go into the room next to mine. Very noisy fans in the hallways. & I even wiped mold off of our AC unit in the room & there are water leaking marks on the shower ceiling. No bueno. (Check photos) side note: the pool is never open and there are no microwaves in the rooms only fridges. I will say the beds are really clean though….

If you pay over 200/night to stay a few days would you expect your room to be cleaned every day? I did. When I asked why it was not clean I was told that it was Marriott's "policy" to clean the room every 3 days. As we still deal with the effects of COVID, making sure a building housing so many people is clean should be priority number 1. In addition, I don't know what was wrong with the heater/air conditioner but it sounded like an outboard boat engine. My friends who were also staying at the Marriott had to have their room changed due to their television not working. Between the service, stains on their carpet and other issues I think this hotel has seen better days. Next time I'm in the area, I won't be staying at the Marriott.

Would leave 0 stars if possible. We booked a room for a wedding which we will now not be able to attend due to having Covid. While we understand our room was chosen as non-refundable, the hotel has been of absolutely no assistance. We were not even trying to get a refund, we were asking for a credit for a future stay. Two separate employees informed us that the non-refundable policy was a “corporate policy” and had nothing to do with the hotel itself. After calling and speaking to corporate, we were correctly informed that it is the exact opposite: it is the hotels decision. Apparently, as per the assistant manager, “Covid is not an exception for a rebate for the advance deposit rate.” So if someone has covid, you’d rather punish them for keeping your staff and guests safe by not using the room? Now, the hotel will keep our money for a room we will not be using AND charge someone else for that same room. The policy is a joke and the employees we’ve dealt with have no customer service skills or cares. Email listed on their Facebook: comes back as undeliverable. Ask an employee to forward you to the managers voicemail, you get sen to different voicemails (not the managers). Open a case and get told the manager will respond directly: manager doesn’t even make a call. Message them on Facebook: no reply. Garbage customer service. The front desk has trouble routing calls and also has trouble remembering why you called as they lay the phone down for 15 minutes. The manager is shockingly terrible with customer service; does not return calls, does not proactively make calls unless you go through corporate for a response, etc. While corporate told us on two separate occasions that the manager would reach out to us, the manager never did. We had to call corporate back to find out what the managers response was as she not ONCE called us. Total joke. Our entire experience has been terrible, except for the corporate workers who have no affiliation with this hotel. Everyone from this hotel has been less than helpful, understanding, or putting the customer first. We will never stay at this hotel no matter the occasion as they have not been understanding, they have made zero attempt to assist in any way, and I guess would rather have guests with Covid than work with said guests. I’d sleep in my car before ever staying here. Just awful. But, hey, they’re making the money.

SO GREAT! We used this hotel as our wedding block and made several visits since the big day and it was all worth it. Despite the changes in personnel, there were detailed notes about some of our events (taking place at the hotel) and room blocks which made it very easy. It was a busy weekend in October but the hotel staff did a great job with all of our requests, being responsive, and ensuring all were taken care of during our events and stay. A big shout out to Eric A and Ashley J for all of their time and energy spent making sure everything was perfect. They were available for every call and every question and put us at ease. This was the perfect spot - close to the venue and great location for guests to grab a bite or shop around if needed! Rooms were also of great size and clean!

Had a signed wedding contract for rooms which we executed over a month ago and our wedding is two months from now. My fiance and I get an email that they're terminating the contract. They made no attempt at providing us other rooms or anything. Instead the email just says hey you can book at one of our sister properties. Somehow it's now my responsibility to call a bunch of hotels and try to get another block? If they reached out and even made the slightest attempt at getting our block moved somewhere else it would be a different story. Completely disgraceful.

We had a hell of a time at the airport with a late flight, a damaged bag, and a tight connection. United offered a hotel stay, and we chose this property. We are so glad we did. Checking in with Michael was a breeze. He was so patient, friendly, and understanding. We were squared away in no time. He even helped us order pizzas and applied our meal vouchers. That was so nice of him. The rooms were comfy and spacious.

Disappointed, I should have stayed at the Hilton down the street. The pool is permanently closed although still listed as amenity. No microwave in rooms like every other Courtyard. Anyway the lobby and the people are nice

One of the best hotels I've stayed at. Pleasant staff and ran really well. Shout out to Eric and Michael, go to them if you need any help.

Went to Fire and Oak for dinner. Beautiful inside, high ceilings, great lighting. Food was wonderful, Mussels Fra Diavolo was fantastic. But the acoustics was awful 😖, it got extremely loud as the evening progressed.

Not great. Wi-Fi is worse than dial up. Images won’t load in browser that’s how bad. Tv also has trouble with consistent signal. My 2nd stay here and last time was same. I brought the issue up to concierge and she wouldn’t acknowledge my complaint only said haven’t heard that before. Right. The bed sheets had holes in them and the mattress is stained. Even though I had to walk a city block to get to my room and the hotel looks at least half empty I had noise above me to deal with. Don’t think I’ll be staying again

For the most part, we had the usual, pleasurable, Marriott experience. However, their remote for the TV was replaced 3x and still not working properly. Also, the coffee station could have been stocked better. On the bright side, the bathroom and bed were excellent, and we enjoyed having the sofa in the room (very comfortable).

Well maintained hotel and clean.! The manager was welcoming with high greeting and has all answers around the area which is very helpful for me and everyone. Happily I do recommend this hotel.!

I'm a Marriott bonvoy member. I have stayed at this hotel on previous occasions. Typical Marriott dependability, however, on this last visit this month I was disappointed to see a $10.00 parking charge. The hotel has plenty of outdoor parking around their property that they share with no one. I have never seen it full. Park and enter the hotel and check in. I have stayed at other marriott hotels where a charge of $20-25 is typical but the parking is valet or a public parking garage. I asked about the new parking charge and management said it's a new policy. They never stated it at check-in, just appears on the bill. My complaint is simple. In today's economy with gas, essentials, food, utilities sky rocketing this hotel recently attaches a $10.00 parking fee. The optics are awful. just raise the room rate.

Was charged $100 fee AFTER i left. Incidentals for what? I do not smoke in the room and did not leave a mess? i even left a tip for the cleaning staff. UPDATED EDIT: Your response is inaccurate. I have the bank records to show the withdrawal was after my check out. Please contact me directly and i will show you the proof i have. Check you records, i have mine.

I had a good stay here. Check-in was fast and friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable, I slept great. Subtracting one point because charging for parking at a suburban hotel is kind of scummy, especially since it was difficult to even find a space. Still, I would stay here again.

Nothing to complain about, nothing that stands out either. Very clean, very nice hotel. Marriott is good with me. Service is always polite and prompt. Location is great, right near the parkway. Plenty of food spots near by as well.

It wasn't the greatest stay. We came here for a wedding. The hallways were super dated. We were put on the third floor across from what looked like the cleaning room but it had a giant hole punched in that door and was a terrible eye sore. No blow dryer in the room. When we called the front desk and ask if they could bring us one they said yes but never did. Lastly, we were super thirsty but when we mentioned there was no water in the hospitality room (which I thought was supposed to be stocked with simple things like that) they made us buy water instead of providing us with some. The hotel didn't even have an ice maker... on any floor. We checked. Didn't seem very accommodating or welcoming. The hotel room itself was fine but I was very unimpressed with service.

We booked a room block with Kathy Evans for our company event (we are a remote company and get employees together once a year) at the Courtyard by Marriott. Kathy was fantastic and responsive in setting up the block and addressing any and all of our questions and needs! Our employees had fantastic things to say about the hotel and staff and their experience added to making our event a memorable one for everyone! Kudos to Kathy and the staff at the hotel! The hotel is connected to a GREAT restaurant/bar (Fire and Oak) which our employees loved as well.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Cancelled an entire wedding block without properly notifying the bride a month before the wedding. Once they were contacted they blamed and lied to the customer. I can’t believe they have stayed in business this long especially with Kathleen Evans in management. Stay away for your sanity and your wallet.
