😠 Do not come. Worst experience ever. My appointment for blood and urine test was 7am and I had to be fasting. Arrived 10min before and had to wait in the corridor until they opened the door after 7. It doesn’t matter at what time your appointment ClicSanté was. You just have to take a number and wait... People often mention hospital, staff, time, doctor, appointment, hours, wait, doctors, emergency, waiting,

Do not come. Worst experience ever. My appointment for blood and urine test was 7am and I had to be fasting. Arrived 10min before and had to wait in the corridor until they opened the door after 7. It doesn’t matter at what time your appointment ClicSanté was. You just have to take a number and wait. Finally I was at the counter at 7:25. The lady told me I have to make a hospital card somewhere else and I have to take another number when coming back. Learn from LaSalle hospital, any counter was able to make a hospital card or at least let people know where they should get a card when the make appointments on ClicSanté. Imagine you are pregnant, having morning sickness, cannot take your meds, low blood sugar and holding your pee for the urine test, and running around in this depressing hospital. I don’t know how their doctors are but I’m very disappointed at their administration.

Worst servive ever! I was the only one in radiology and the nurses were talking as well as the secretary.... I guess they cannot do their job, just talk about how their friend was doing something and taking pictures of her on the screen. Btw... the lady and the man welcoming everyone in urguences were super rude. If I need a person to come with me because of my personal issues and my condition it is none of their business... they refused even when I explained that it was personal and the doctor knew about it...

The building and equipment are falling apart, trash litters the floors, bugs hover over the flickering lights and you'll freeze in the waiting room before you're seen by someone. The staff are practically non-existent. In 2 hours, not one person was called into an examination room. 10 people just sat there, and 4 ambulances dropped patients off so they could wait in the main room with everyone else. The hospital seems to be run on a skeleton crew, who will ignore new patients waiting at the registration desk or triage until they blatantly ask for help. I'm assuming the staff hope you'll just leave. On the topic of staff, other waiting patients had to wheel elderly or disabled patients into their examination rooms; as the same staff who knew the patients were in a wheelchair would simply call the name and forget about it. It's a bit insane and I can't see myself coming back here if I have a choice. Cheers, Lee

I only have good words for hospital care. The staff is dedicated and caring. Don't trust the comments about emergencies, they are bad for all hospitals in Quebec. Once taken care of, everything is fine and the care is professional.

Dr Tohme, operated on my sister in law, both knees and both hips. She walks extremely poorly now, either with a cane or a walker. She walks like the A and We mascot !!Does absolutely nothing at home, besides knitting, colouring, no cooking, nor cleaning. How can I tell her to do anything, she has a cane in her hand!! I tell her to do her exercises, if she was doing them right, she wouldn't be over weight and she'd walk properly!!

Went there in the middle of the night in acute pain from a gallstone attack, and was lucky to meet a triage nurse who had experienced this pain. After a 3h wait, she promptly gave me pain killers and even let me sleep a few hours on an exam table. Speaks to the humanity of the place, but also to the tragedy that is healthcare in Canada.

Security need to get off their high horse. Threatening me, screaming at me all because I was wearing (and had new in the package) KN95 masks rather than cheaper medical masks. Probably doesn't help that I am from out of province and don't speak good French. Find a better hospital.

I was brought in for a medical emergency at 4 AM and from the very get go from Triage one I was well taken care of with a lot of care and respect and I want to thank each and every staff member of the hospital for giving a 100% despite the stressful environment and making sure I get the best treatment possible. Special thanks to doctor, Dr. Michael Awad Roula and nurse Zahir Touati and all other nurses, the paramedics, orderlies thank you for being the angels that you are ❤️ the hospital itself is well maintained and equipped very well with the necessary resources. Despite my limited French I felt heard and they made efforts to speak to me in English. I was treated like a human and not just a case number. Thank you!! 🙏

Sitting in the waitng room going on 9 hours now, with a broken foot. It's ~3 hours since anybody in the waiting area has even been called into a room. The bathroom in the waiting area hasn't been cleaned the entire time I've been here and is disgusting. Trash overflowing from bins. Trash on floor. Floor sticky. Edit: Left after 11 hours of nobody being directed to a doctor, couldn't take the pain of sitting in a cramped waiting room with a broken foot any more. One nurse in 11 hrs checked on me and brought some ice. Mostly they just took attendance every 3 hours to see who hadn't given up yet. Going to try my luck at a different hospital tomorrow. A city like montreal can't be THIS bad accross the board, can it?

I went to the blood collection center with an appointment to take blood. The directions to the hospital are very clear, there is a super nice volunteer at the entrance to help people find themselves in the right place. It was super quick and efficient, I really appreciate this efficiency, because it's really very difficult to get a blood test appointment provided by the government these days. P.s: Parking is easy and practical, it's metered like the rest of Montreal and you can pay with the same parking APP.

This hospital used to be very good with the emergency room. However now it’s horrible! The staff, a security guard and nurse in particular were YELLING at people! Saying things like “if you won’t stay in your seat you can go home!”. People are here because they are sick/injured and you need to treat them with respect! You cannot yell at someone because they went to use the bathroom! Unacceptable! I will be making a formal complaint but I wanted to add a review to warn people.

I had to come in the Urgence in the middle of the night and then many days following for recurring appointments. Triage was fast and well done and I was attended to relatively quickly compared to past experiences. One of the days I was waiting, the security guard, Roberto, was very helpful and kind, and he made the wait easier. I've had to get a lot of tests done in the past week and they all happened very quickly and the doctors were very helpful.

They kept me on emergency for over 10hrs with difficulty to breath only to tell me at 7am that the doctor arrives at 8am. They are rude and they speak to you like if you owe them something. Everyone who came into ERA ended up leaving because no names were ever called in 10 hours. I dont even know what kind of system is this or why does this even makes sense. I am scare of getting sick in quebec. Its a nightmare and full of corruption. Sad how we keep giving away our salaries and cant even get attention at ER. Nonsense

I am infuriated with this place and how they treat vulnerable elderlies. I have encountered many good doctors, nurses and PABs but ... there are a few PABs that need to be removed and never be allowed to work in a health or social service sector ever again. Some of the PABs are mentally childish with a bully like mentality. Resulting in negligence that leads to either reduced recovery or death of patients. The hospital needs to reevaluate and be more selective of PABs because at some point they will get hit with multiple lawsuits with how the "BAD" PABs are treating the hospital's more vulnerable patients. I've also encountered one nurse that provided me with false information which I quickly confirmed with a doctor who was thoroughly disturbed/concerned by what I relayed. So for anyone who loves their grandparents. Please do not send them to this hospital. If they have memory issues they will be mistreated.

I took my wife on an emergency. After nurse check up and blood test, they made her wait 4 hours with heavy bleeding. After 4 hours, they asked her to go to the doctors room. She waitjng there for another 30 minutes. She couldn't bear the pain and we had to rush her to private hospital. Québec health care system needs to have a humane touch. I've lived in many countries, Montreal is the only place where a patient has to wait for over 4 hours in emergency. Why call it Emergency.

As someone who works in a hospital, I was disappointed to have had multiple encounters with the ER security where he was rude and unprofessional for no reason. Even when I was talking to him in a polite and calm manner, he showed no compassion and no patience. My family is going through a difficult time and we are vulnerable therefore the least they can do is be a bit more understanding of that. I have read other comments having the same experience and hopefully, they will make a change for this because it is not acceptable.

i have spent over 2 hours trying to get an appointment that my father was asked to make after receiving a letter for a cardiac ultrasound. I have been given 3 phone numbers who all transferered me to someone else and then an email no that was not legible at all, and no satisfaction at all. What a mess this hospital has become. All the modernization with no access. I was not even able to get from the main hospital no an email address the gentleman told me HE DID NOT KNOW WHAT AN EMAIL WAS. That says it all. Very disappointed.

One of the best place to get evaluated health wise. Very courteous people and very thorough and trust worthy. Since I started visiting I don’t remember having a bad experience from the front desk customer service to triage and then to seeing the doctors. You don’t need to wait forever and every thing you say matters. You are seen as a human and not just a case to be solved. Thank you to all the beautiful and approachable nurses who are so courteous and caring as expected but not seen everywhere. Many thanks to the team that make the hospital a working progress

Seen many hospitals, this is by far the worst. The staff is very rude to patients, no respect in the way they communicate. One should obviously not expect the courtesy of a private business, these are mostly lazy and miserable public servants that are to comfortable and not worried in losing their jobs, but a bare minimum should be the requirement. Health comes before anything, and sadly we are obligated to make contact with these disgraceful peasants.

Doctors are nice but doctors aside, no one in the staff can speak English. Some are understanding and work with you but most just brush you off to another place. I guess it’s another courtesy of Quebec’s brilliant policies. I was given the wrong address and sent to a place 10 minutes away from the hospital. If you can help it, go to the Jewish General or somewhere else.

My experiences have been good and bad. The staff should have a better knowledge of English. Some doctors are very helpful and very nice, but their are some who are just rude and think your wasting their time, if your symptoms are not life threatening.. Courtesy and compassion should be important in a hospital. They need to work on those issues. Also m doctor's secretary fax them a paper for a test, and they didn't have it in the system, which means I had to call and do this myself and email the information from my doctor again. I work and have no time to do their job, they need to be on top of things.

I come here very often as someone young having a lot of tests done for stressful illnesses. All the doctors I've seen have been very nice and helped me feel informed and been understanding I am stressed and anxious about my appointments. I also have gotten seen very quickly when at the ER (for potentially life threatening things mind you not a cold, but at other hospitals I've waited hours when here it's usually half an hour). Technicials usually are kind as well, especially one lady I had for an MRI at night. She was extremely kind and reassuring throughout the appointment despite how scared I was. I wish I remembered her name, but I hope everyone could have her as their MRI technician! 😊 The one and only thing that's been a bad experience so far is nearly every single blood test I've had here. I've been on time, polite (if anxious and socially awkward perhaps) but every time I sit down visibly nervous I find the nurses I've had seemed annoyed with me. I'll clench my hand by accident out of stress and the nurse will in a frustrated tone tell me to un-clench. Sometimes I don't hear them properly the first time (I am autistic with auditory processing issues) and instead of politely try and repeat, they will become more frustrated with me and repeat the same thing louder and not look at me the whole appoitment like my stress is an annoyance to them. I understand they are under a lot of stress and a blood test "shouldn't" be a big deal, but I wish they understood they have patients going through very scary treatments who maybe need a bit more patience than others. I've done around 30 blood tests in my life as someone under 25 and having them done here has always been the thing I dread the most for my appointments now. Despite all my treatments and specialists being at the Verdun Hospital I might start scheduling my blood tests elsewhere.

I have never really had a good experience with ER in Canada and didn't have high expectations when I walked in to Verdun hospital. But right from the start, the security, nurses, doctors and admin staff were very polite and courteous. They were also very efficient with their service. I was attended to very quickly and manage to have my tests completed. Thank you for your wonderful service :)

I had a blood test appointment at Verdun Hospital. It's the first time I went to this hospital so I have to get Hospital card then go to section G for blood test. The whole process took less than an hour and everything is smooth.

If a person can actually be seen, the services may be pretty decent. It has been almost two months since my Verdun Family Medicine Dr. sent a requisition to Radiology. After multiple in-person visits to Radiology following-up I continue to be told they will call me for an appointment nearly two months later. Tax payers are paying infinitely too much for even the Clic Sante domain name as the site never seems to work. After going to the Hospital to schedule an appointment with Hematology, the Inscription gave me a sheet to call between 13h and 15h to make an appointment. Which I did. When arriving to the Verdun Hospital External Clinique Intake for the appointment following day, it took nearly 10 minutes to find the Inscription once my number was called as it is tucked-away in a corner with no sign. Once speaking to the person at Inscription I was told there is no Hematology at the Verdun Hospital. So I was sent back to where my Dr. is at Verdun Family Medicine. Which as I do not have an appointment there, sent me to security to be able to direct me to Hematology. Lo, and behold - an established sizable hospital as Verdun Hospital DOES HAVE a Hematology Department. Upon arriving at Hematology, they claim to have no record of the appointment. As there is no working internet connection to waste my time checking Clic Sante. And I cannot call about my appointment/ scheduling an actual appointment until 13h to 15h, I was given no choice but to leave. I probably should have passed by Radiology again to have them again tell me they would call me (been almost two months), and pass by Inscription again. Where I could not only explain to Inscription that yes, there IS a Hematology Department at the Verdun Hospital and where it is.... But also explain to them that there are most likely nurses, Doctors, and a LOT of very frustrated patients fed-up with this nonsense at the Verdun Hospital too....

You can definitely tell that people are overworked and tired, yet most of the professionals I encountered shared enthusiasm and upheld a positive, uplifting environment. I definitely had great experiences with the staff in the external clinic, the radiology teams, all nurses, aswell as the emergency team (special shout out to Roberto, this security guard really helped swerve around the sad, unfortunate event of being in a hospital into a heartwarming, somehow fun experience). You may have to wait a little long at times, but Im just greatful for being cared for by such generous and kind healthcare workers! (Also, not leaving. the place with over 100k in debt). The health care system isnt perfect, but I think that they’re doing one hell of a job with all that is on their shoulders.

Doctors and staff are indeed very nice, however it’s a shame that they don’t manage time , priorities or meals well! On two separate occasions that I am aware of my grand mother was given wrong meals that were meant for other patients and when we told them they couldn’t figure it out, then they tell you that an individual has to be out by 10 am , they must be picked up, well I have bee here since 9:45 am and it is now 11:24 am and they are waiting to book her an appointment before letting her out. They have known since yesterday that they were releasing her and they planned nothing for her release and now can’t tell us when she will be released!!! Seriously I then no some time and priority management classes should be assigned to some administrators. they don’t care if an individual has transport or not as I will need to be back at work and they don’t want to agree to calling her for that appointment. So now my 83 yo gran is left without a lift!!!!

Our daughter was in a fire and had smoke inhalation. She was in the ER with wonderful care for 2 days and then 6 in ICU. She is a bilingual Anglo but had amazing service on both languages. To be in ICU is scary enough but not having to worry about communication, even better. Wonderful wonderful staff!!! Should be 5*****

Don't go here for life threatening injury or illness. they usually treat you like garbage if you speak English these days and wait times for even serious issues is hours long even if your the only patient the worse though is in the ICU we brought my mother in for breathing issues with her lungs due to her being a heavy smoker but other than that she was pretty healthy but the next day she was hooked up to a life support machine for her lungs without us even being informed. They kept changing her meds to see which one would work like a blind test as if they didn't know what they were doing and it took them 4 times but they took too long on the first meds and whenever there were any changes they did not notify us until we called them for updates and while this was going on out of no where she started having new issues for no reason like she now got liver disease and than she started to bloat in her stomach with fluids and after that she had a blood clot in her shoulder that they couldn't remove cause she was now bleeding in her brain and again we didnt find these things out till we showed up or called them and they even admited it was all from the constant meds. Than there was this rude doctor that was assigned to her who kept talking down to us like we we childeren and pushing us to take her off of life support right away saying she was not responsive and no longer there mentally even though till even the last day we had with her she responded to us with shaking her head as a no and even gave us back kisses when we kissed her onthe cheek. She even kissed me on the cheek twice cause she was unable to the day before and i misremembered something when talking about the past and she shook her head to to correct me. We told this doctor that doctor he ignored it and kept giving her sedatives and saying she was no longer there mentally and if she did make it she would no longer the person we knew as if he didnt wawanwawant us to find something out from her like if they treated her poorly but there was only one doctor that agreed with us saying she was there but wasn happy with the doctors and the sedatives are what make her unresponsive. We even asked my mom if she was being treated well there and she shook her head with an angry face. When she passed away in the morning we grieved and while I was alone in the room grieving I heard at least 2 or 3 nurses mocking me in the back doing a waah waah sound and giggling about it. they didn't see my mom as a person only number that was taking up space from one of their rooms in the icu. When talking to a friend who also lost a family member there he thinks the doctor that was rude to us was the same one that his father had before he died and he states that him and a lot of people call this place the butcher shop. also we asked them for papers showing the meds used and the issues that she had but they avoided giving it saying we would have to wait a week and we would receive them. once it was that week that's when they kept pushing for us to allow them to remove her life support and we asked for more time they kept guilt tripping us about how we should do it sooner. If you don't want your loved ones to die from mistakes that doctors make and pretend it isn't their fault make sure to avoid this hospital. This place should be investigated for malpractice and neglect of their patients and take care of their patients. probably even be shutdown before thinking of adding new wards when they cant even take proper care of people. Update: I files a complaint with the hospital on the doctor when i made this review and 2-3 months ago i received a call back from them and all they could tell me was things happen so please dont blame them. then they offered a one on one chat with the doctor the berated us so he can berate us more. again do not go here for any critical health issue and if a family member was brought to their ICU request for them to be moved to another location. I wish i did that around the first month she was addmitted but i didnt think the hospital would have done this.

I would give this hospital a 0 star rating if that was an option. The doctor at the emergency today just completely disregarded everything I said, barely evaluated me properly and she just sent me home without providing any further testing. Not to mention I left the hospital in severe pain and now I don’t know what to do and will have to go consult elsewhere. The doctors there clearly do not care about helping their patients and don’t take them seriously. Extremely disappointing and will never go there again. Do NOT recommend unless you’re looking for a quick fix with less wait time and you don’t care if the doctors treat you bad. Maybe you won’t wait as long as other Montreal hospitals, but the quality of service? Disappointing on another level. Actually completely useless. Unless you have a physical injury they can clearly see with their eyes, they probably won’t do anything. The doctor I saw was also extremely rude. Have some empathy and respect for your patients. Why become a doctor if you don’t even want to help people? Just stay home then. Avoid at all costs.

This was my partner and I's first experience at the emergency room of this hospital, and I was thoroughly impressed with how quickly he was seen, tested, and admitted for observation. We arrived Sunday around noon for my partner's severe abdominal pain. By 1:00pm he was in a bed in the observation area where he received medication to manage the pain and an IV with fluids. By 7:00pm he was cleared and we were sent home. All of the staff at the hospital were very polite and answered all of our questions (for reference, we are both Anglophone but we speak French fairly well, and were able to get by with a mix of Franglais). Un grand merci!

The most awful experience in my life…no information about the waiting time while in the meanwhile they charge you 1300 dollars, been waiting (and still waiting) for more than 7 hours for just a 10 minute check. Absolute disrespectful behaviour and no customer service at all! What a scam!! Not even in third world countries they treat patients in such a disgusting way. You are an absolute disgrace and should shut you down for your horrible service and criminal attitude

Hands down the worst hospital in all of Montreal all. They do not respect pronouns and refuse to use chosen name. Even came in with papers stating my name change and they refused to do it. Waiting time is well over three hours. It's dirty and most dispenser are empty. Just the worst place ever. Do not waste your time coming here.

None of the walk-in clinics would see me same day, so had to come here. Obviously the wait was way too long because my condition was minor, but that’s expected from an ER. All the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the doctor who saw me was very attentive and got me the prescription I needed within like 10 minutes or seeing her.

I was brought in by paramedics to the Verdun Hospital to emergency after suffering a slump from heat stroke I have never had such wonderful attentive care at a hospital before: Immediate, competent. But most impressive of all, the humanity and caring they projected. My appreciation to the medical student, Jennifer. And my deeply felt appreciation to the emergency nurse, M.... who expressed his passion for working in emergency, and his great pride that the staff felt like a team with the doctor. i came in at 5pm. Dismissed at 11 pm I hope I never again have to be taken to a hospital. But if I do, my order - if I can still speak - will be clear: TAKE ME TO EMERGENCY AT THE VERDUN HOSPITAL!!! claire bernstein

ER times are alright if you get there early in the morning. Good staff, everyone is quite on point. Got my issue resolved fairly quickly and with professionalism. Roberto the security guard in the ER - very friendly and helpful, mans made our day. Grazie mille per l'aiuto!!

The fastest hospital in Montreal. Nurses are amazing and empathetic. Doctors are great. I would like to thank Dr Browning and Dr Wu for the follow up and the dedication. These are the best doctors I have ever met!

They are well organized. Waiting time in emergency room was short compare with other hospitals. They follow covid protocols.

I went there for the first time, the doctors were cute and I didn't have to wait long, it's a good little hospital

We arrived at Verdun Hospital around 4:00pm at Triage. I hurt my leg by accident at work. My foot is swelling with bleeding. I'm sure at Triage, nurses put me in Priority 5. They didn't call me but they called 6-7 people who passed at Triage after me. Until now it's 4:05 am, I'm still waiting. They didn't call anyone from 10:30pm last night. This is a worse hospital. 😫 😡😡😡. Whole night just waiting no see doctor!!!

This hospital offers great health services. It is very big and very clean. Also it's located near the metro station De l'eglise. The bus number 58 and 61 are near too.

Death hospital!! People die there due to unprofessional staff!! Stay away!! 2nd floor full night staff full devils!! Grand mother died there cause the nurse said they didn’t know she had breathing problems plus she was on a 45 min break when she had problem and the private care did not help at all!! Which then the worst karma!!! Grandmas vitals were perfect !! It’s was the staff that killed her!! Bad karma to all of them!!

Heard from colleagues that this hospital is fast in ER, so I traveled all the way from west island to Verdun. And the travel is worth it! Can't believe it, I only spent 2 hours here for ear infection. They are incredibly fast!! Recommend this hospital for ER

The worst service I have ever encountered. I took my 6m old baby into emerg (as recommended by the lady from 911) because of an allergic reaction and he never let me finish answering any of his questions. He cut me off each time and then got mad and said I should be more specific ?Seriously? I would if he’d let me. He then proceeded to tell me that doctors will not want to see my baby, because she’s a baby. The rudest receptionist I have dealt with in my life.

Very bad service. Whats the point of going in emergency if you have to wait for more than 4 hours for your turn . A person have little sickness will be more sick by waiting and waiting. The waiting room is also not comfortable. Interesting thing is even the staff doesn’t know when your turn comes up. Very disappointing service and bad management. It’s very difficult for the person going there for treatment.

I recently had minor surgery done at the Verdun Hospital. This was the first time I've had any kind of surgery so I was quite anxious before the date and more so on the day of surgery. My experience was way above what I expected. From the moment the doctor said I needed the surgery every process was professional and timely. From booking the appointment, going through Preop and finally the "big" day. Every department I dealt with, admissions, prep, pre-op, surgery and finally post-op the staff were informative, friendly while always showing empathy. Kudos to all surgical team, the doctors, nurses and support staff. You all made a stressful event as pleasant as possible.

The best hospital emergency services you'll ever get. Have been to several others including CHUM, Montreal General, Jewish General and Saint Mary's but every one of those had 10 times worse experience. Here the nurses are caring cuz it's not as busy as the other. They are affectionate and well equipped to calm you down if you are anxious or uncomfortable. Hats off to the nursing team in the ER, bless everyone of you there!!

I came to ER at 1:10 pm and left at 4:50. Wait time is fine. Doctors are really nice and professional as the rest of the stuff. They did all necessary verifications. I’m more then satisfied with service.

i used to go to Hôpital Fleury where they make you wait 16+ hours at the emergency room and this was my first time at Verdun Hospital yesterday where we waited 3.5 hours to get treated at the ER. Needless to say i’m pleasantly surprised and will continue to come here. The staff was nice and we had good service. Even if it’s a little detour, i totally recommend coming here.

It's been since about 2017. At first I had trouble finding the office area for Dr Curnew. When I asked most spoke in French with less than several in English. They were kind enough to show me where to go or even walked with me so I wouldn't get lost., Once I did I had to wait awhile to be seen 😃 The nurse's we're kind and helpful. Dr Curnew is the best. He was kind, polite, and caring .I had the stellar block done by him over the two years and his staff nurse called to check on on how I was doing to relate back to Dr C. I was impressed 😃I highly recommend him 💉 thanks ☺️

Often come here for blood tests. Nurses are the best (almost always get my veins on the first try) and it goes pretty quickly. Shout out to everyone who contributes to that department: you guys are awesome!

😠 If there was an option to give 0 stars for this, I would have given that. I was in emergency department in September, last year. I explained the situation to the doctors as well as nurses in that department that I do not have a medicare at the moment but I have applied for it and showed them the con...

😠 Probably the worst experience of my life at the emergency room. First of all, the conditions are terrible. The nurses/staff members are super unkind and rude. 😠 Was in ER for 16 hours (2:30 am- 6:45 pm) for a fractured wrist. Wasn't allowed to sit on the floor and had to sit on the uncomfortable, small plastic chairs. 😠 The emergency wait room is absolutely dirty, with the high traffic this hospital has during a pandemic you would at least expect to see someone making sure the area is clean and maintained. 😠 The people working in the emergency room are vile, nasty and abusive towards patience. They put up signs that they don't want verbal abuse...they're the ones abusing people.
