Do not give birth at this hospital.. do not let the reputation fool you and stay away. After the worst delivery experience, they discharged me without any checkup even though I could barely walk. finally turned out they had left placenta which got infected and almost killed me within 11 days. After I went back, could barely walk and had to bag for blood test, while they were convincing me that I had delivered a big baby and it was absolutely normal the way I was feeling. Very long story short.. they figured out what was happening, they finally admitted me to the hospital, started antibiotics but the nurses were unable to poke me properly and after torturing me with needles I developed thrombosis on my right arm, unable to extend my hand fully and to even hold my baby, now injecting myself with anticoagulants every day for 3 weeks. The amount of negligence and unprofessionalism that I came across at this hospital.. just unimaginable. Not sure about the rest of the hospital but birthing unit is just full of students, nurses and residents.. no way for you to see the actual doctor unless you’re dying. The whole time I felt like a lab rat for students to practice on. Please for the sake of you and your baby.. just avoid. They were supposed to call me for a follow-up ultrasound appointment in 2 weeks.. it’s been a month now..

Like how everybody their is bilingual and very nice doctor and nurses! I went to emergency, waited in the waiting room for 25hours to finally see a doctor and after that it was really fast pace. Was in there for total 28hours because i was put dead last in the line cuz my emergency isn't urgent enough compared to the other patients when i completely understand but the fact that almost every body that came in after me was already all gone and out of their within less than 15 hours. Was mentally crying sitting there. Just wished they added more doctors. (Keep in mind my family doctor is on vacation and needed fast appointment because I was in pain)

Sadly is the same service everywhere if you go to emergency because are not real emergencies but in this country with no private hospitals and not enough doctors where else do you go if you want to consult a doctor without appointment? Wait, just wait and continue waiting, average time: 8 to 12 hrs

UPDATE: The MUHC called me and handled everything over the phone, and got me an appointment a few days out at a clinic not too far from my house. Great experience until I was yelled at. I went in to the adult's emergency at just before 7AM, waited for nearly an hour until I was triaged. Triage nurse was super nice, but informed me that with my condition I was a P4 priority and another P4 had been waiting 29 hours. So she was going to have me re-oriented to a clinic near where I lived. Unfortunately for me, and many other patients, the system for re-orientation was down for all of Quebec. I waited an hour to see if the system would come back online, but it didn't. At this point I told registration I was going to leave and maybe come back next weekend, to which they informed me I have to tell a triage nurse so they can remove me from the system. I waited like 10-15 minutes for a nurse to emerge from triage. When a male nurse emerged I raised my hand and said "excuse me", very calmly, to which he yelled back "NO! YOU TAKE A NUMBER!" and slammed the triage room door in my face. I laughed, tore off my bracelet, and left. Everyone else there was so nice and respectful, except the gatekeeping triage nurse. I get that it's a stressful environment in which a lot of people are overworked, but there's signs all over the ER about being respectful, and that should be a two way road. While I was there I did hear nurses repeatedly apologize to patients for being terribly understaffed and lacking equipment. So I feel for them, and wish them the best. Can't let one sour apple ruin it for everyone. I'll probably be back, because my options are limited, and because I am on a CT scan wait list with no ETA. Hopefully next time a major aspect of technical infrastructure doesn't fail province wide.

It was the worst experience ever in my life, service is slow and doesn’t worth a penny of the taxes we pay. U should definitely do your prayers before going to ER because you actually might die and your turn didn’t come yet

Really nice view from the room I was admitted to. Food is actually good and you have choices! Also having a room to your self and a bathroom/shower is amazing. It makes you feel like you’re not in a hospital.

Terrible experience in the waiting room. Waited over 12 hours with a cancer patient in need of urgent care was only seen briefly by a nurse after 8 hours of waiting and me going to inquire to see if we could get some pain medication. Others in the waiting room were in clear need of assistance - I do not blame the nurses or doctors. I blame the hospital, it’s hiring practices and the organizations financial decisions. Why have such an artistic looking hospital with the newest designs and such but have loads of empty rooms, over worked/underpaid nurses and not enough staff to fully assist patients in need. I’ve never seen such a sight for sore eyes today in the ER and the hospital needs to do more to find staff and actually do what it’s there to do efficiently.

I was told by my dentist to go to the hospital as soon as possible because of an abscess and spread of infection (my face is extremely swollen) and I was laughed at by the triage nurse for Coming to the emergency for this issue . even though it was recommended by my doctor and dentist due to my complex health issues I deal with as-well as to this complex issue. Not only that but I was told my partner could not attend the wait with me even though I cannot push myself in a wheelchair and they are fully vaccinated yet almost everyone else in the waiting room had someone with them. While I tried to wait I passed out twice in the 3 hours and no one helped me. I no longer felt safe there.

Second time at the ER here with my wife. It’s a kind of joke what’s happening. I can understand priorities and we’re still waiting after 12 hours. My concern is that after 6 hours nobody from the ER it’s been called to be seen by a doctor. Either there’s no doctor either no one’s give a damn. When she asked for a painkiller (after 1 hours) she’s been asked to get another ticket for that. Crazy…

Nurses(not all, especially the ones in emergency) service, wait time, all are horrible. Terrible experience at the time of my surgery also. I came here for an ectopic pregnancy at 8 am and i was told that the surgeon will come at 8 pm. And I had to sit on the chair for twelve hours to wait for the surgeon to come with an excruciating pain. The next visit after 6 months when i was pregnant and started spotting but by the time i was seen by the doctor in 14 hours i already had lost it. Never going back to this one.

All staff was really nice, caring and sympathetic. The ER was really over capacity today but I got in at 12pm and had bloods + saw doctor within 2 hours. I was deemed high priority and it’s shows because people who arrived earlier/at the same time as me never even saw a nurse or doctor when I left 12h later. Meaning if you’re not being seen, your case is non urgent and you probably are in the wrong place. The only complaint I have is that they lost the first set of bloods they took which then put me 5 hours behind. But once they took the second set, they were pretty fast. Other than that, they were pretty fast for the amount of people in the ER !

There should be a ZERO star. I am not satisfied at all by this hospitals services. Follow-ups are terrible. I was referred to a general surgeon at Royal Victoria Hospital and was visited at April for gallbladder stone. During this visit the surgeon mentioned that the radiology report is wrong and sent me back to the radiologist to correct it. After having them corrected the report, all I was doing was to call or see if they have received the report our not. The secretary was not responsive by phone , so I had to get done in person twice. They told that they not received the report; since I had it in my email I asked even I could sent it to their email directly or not. They told we don't use email, you have to go out of hospital and fax it to us!!!!(Which year do you live in? here it is 2022). I went and faxed it. Since April there is no news of them. I called them couple of times and they tole if you have faxed it we have received it and will contact you soon!!!! All I wanted was to plan my surgery before handedly , and all they do is not caring and letting patient suffer to the point that they need to go to ER in a killing pain. I don't even want to start about it's ER service that is a long story by itself.

Nurse in er extremely rude to my friend. My friend and I are both nurses so it was especially disturbing since we were taught how to treat our patients. Saying “Are you sure you’re not just hungover” (she did not drink at all) and making other snarky comments…. Extremely unprofessional and sad to hear. She left the ER crying without being seen by a doctor after waiting for hours.

Worst experience of my life. Was pregnant and had to go to the emergency for some spotting. Waited 15 hours. They were passing people that came after me , before me. I asked them why? The receptionist said that my human life and my fetus life were not considered important. Finally they brought me in a private room, no blanket, no pillow. Did an echo, sent me home, told me everything was fine, except for the fact a had a huge fibroid. 4 weeks later had a miscarriage for unknow reasons. When I asked the gynecologist at the Royal Victoria if it was possible that is was the 10 cm fibroid in my uterus. He answered me that they don't have means to investigate unless I had like 3 miscarriages. They don't care about people there, they just want your medicare. If you ever had a chance to see what they actually get paid to see a patient, you would be mortified about the service your getting. Not normal.

Every time I speak with the staff at the emergency room they was always very kind to me and trying to make sure I was fine! Sure it is the emergency room and I know I will wait, so I bring what I need for the 12 hours stay. Sadly some patients was hard on the staff for no good reason. I know you are tired but it not hard to say hello, please and thank you...basic human skill. They have to deal with that every day. You, only went you are sick. Please be nice to hospital staff. Ho and I almost forget, the biggest expense for my emergency stay was 10$ for the parking ticket. I am just happy they fix my problem and don't have to take a mortgage to pay my medical bill like it would in the US.

I hate this place. Ohh my good saw waiting room chair. Here the waiting list is very long and single chairs are occupied. All looking very tired and strained to us. I have entered the hospital at 4 o'clock and I am running out of patience now, my turn has not come. I had been vomiting and having stools for two days but no one cared.I really really rude person in a triage.

We were poorly treated by the security at cafeteria today, we truly understand and respect the route of the hospital in one person per desk. Today is the first time I had lunch at cafeteria after a scan, we certainly not aware of this rule and got advice by security. As we looked around, apparently, there were multiple desks having two people sitting together. For some reason, the security guy keeps picking on us and he even threatening us that he will kick us out. We asked me why only us but not other people. He lied and said I don’t see others. I asked his name, I strongly feel that it is a discrimination. And I am really surprised that there is such an professional individual here in this hospital.

The most inhumane staff I’ve ever encountered. Incompetent doctors who sent my father home after being hospitalized for 3 days over there ( they didn’t even give a room, he was put on a bed in the hallway) for a severe infection. They kept moving him from one hallway to another. After going back home he felt sick again so I brought him back immediately only to be completely ignored and asked to wait. Waited for 5 hours watching my dad who’s over 75 in severe pain. Decided to leave and take him to st. Mary’s where they treated him like a human and took care of him immediately. Please avoid that horrible place ( I wouldn’t call it a hospital)!!

Helped me get over my fear of colonoscopy. Because of a previous colonoscopy from another hospital that was very unpleasant to say the least, I was scared of doing another colonoscopy. I was actively avoiding it for years. However, due to recent health complications, I had to get another one. And this time, I could not have imagined a better experience. Waiting for some time in the waiting room is to be expected. However, the staff were super friendly, knowledgeable and chill. A lovely black lady even put on music with her speakers for the hall. She was apparently the DJ of the ward. lol. While I was laying on the bed waiting for my turn, it really helped me relax. When my turn came, I was nervous but the sedation was done so well that I was fully conscious for the procedure but felt little discomfort. I was able to hold a normal conversation with the staff, even joking. Before I knew it, the colonoscopy was finished. I recovered by dozing off a little from the remaining sedative, and a short time after, I was free to go. By far the best hospital experience I've ever had. It actually helped me get over a trauma that was haunting me for years. I now look forward to doing colonoscopies at this hopital. That's how good the staff are, from the doctors to the nurses to the other helpers. Thank you so much.

The Emergency center is totally a MISSED! When you arrived, the lady in the Triage asked you very basic health issues' questions and sent you to the waiting room for at least 6h. Nobody called or asked: "how are your symptoms?" Nobody cares! Then, they called you and locked you in a room for an extra 6h (no water, no food, nobody came to see you. This is like putting someone in a PRISON room. During this time, a resident showed up and went through the summary and asked: "Did you have a urine test? They should have asked you to provide a urine sample after your arrival." It seems that the Triage did not do their job properly. After we've provided the urine sample, they instructed us to leave it in front of the toilet in the corridor and returned to wait in the room. Two hours later, I went to the toilet and discovered that my sample was sitting at the same place UNATTENDED for hours. HOW IRRESPONSIBLE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO WORK HERE! At the end, the doctor only prescribed some pain killer and sent us back home. Two days later, we ended up at another Emergency room: Hôpital Pierre-Boucher. This hospital is the completed opposite of Royal Victoria Hospital. Where we've received extremely attention cares from the Garda guards to any workers here. They are so gentle and really care about anyone in the room. Every worker is helping someone in the room, especially, someone with a handicap, on a wheelchair. I saw a man asking if he can provide a sandwich or juice to an old lady. I saw a lady helping an old lady in a wheelchair to go to the toilet and getting her dirty clothes replaced. They don't have to, but they did and these simple actions really touched me, deeply! There were a lot of actions here. They kept us updated every two-three hours. They informed us of the next steps. No one felt left out here! This is the best hospital in Quebec and should be a model to follow by all emergency room in Québec.

they don't even deserve a zero 🥵imagine people pt. with STROKE they couldn't recognize a stroke !!!!! despite that I told them its maybe a stroke ! pt had to wait from 7 am to 12 o'clock until the neurologist came to react too late!!! almost killed him. whereas a stroke pt in the poorest countries get treated within 20 minutes max !! pt now lives with disabilities because of their careless and negligence! and personally I dont trust anymore and i'm still shocked!! the health care system here is scary! when I told the story to other health care workers in other countries they were really shocked! no excuse for live threatening accident such as stroke which really the least skillful Dr. should recognize it and react quickly! not only this they refused to admit the catastrophic event , and provide a stupid justification! no respects for people lives !

Everyone in the waiting room took over 12 hours before seeing a doctor. Don't waste your time here. Go somewhere where the doctors care. I wasted 17 hours in the waiting room eating only vending machine food. Walking out at 7am with a wrecked sleeping schedule and 0 answers. Yup after waiting all night for a doctor, he gave me a chest xray, and 10 blood tests only to be told: "sorry, we don't know what's wrong with you. Try somewhere else." Oh and to get the results of the blood tests/chest X-ray, I need to wait 30 days. I'm in severe pain in my abdomen, and I collapse asleep every day from something. Are the hospital staff overworked or incompetent?

Like every other hospital, there’s a super long queue for outpatients here as well. Just that the initial attendant was kind enough to tell me on my face that it will need more than 24 hours to attend on my case and asked me to attend a private clinic. PROs - 1. Clean 2. Several departments so mostly you’ll find your need here 3. Very conveniently located, right beside Vendome metro. CONs - 1. Couldn’t find any direction to the outdoor/emergency at the entrance (It’s at the basement and I had to ask people to get there) 2. Wait time might be a concern

My rate is basis my birth experience. I had a scheduled c-section at 8 am (first operation for the day) and I was there since 6 am to get prepared. However, it got postponed multiple times for various reasons and I eventually got into the operation room around 5:30 pm. Other than the delay of my operation, everything else was great. The hospital is clean, the staff and nurses are friendly and helpful. Special thanks to nurse Jenna at the postpartum section who was very caring and supportive.

You need at least a post doc to be able to pay the parking ticket by credit card.... or the darn machines just don't work. For all the cash you're raking, install a user friendly pay machines at the barrier This review is not related to the staff, who was great.

Very nice, friendly, **BILINGUAL** and hard working staff at this hospital. The Emergency triage and communication protocols are very efficient. Comfortable chairs in the waiting area, clean washrooms, vending machines with hot coffee and cold snacks, beverages, and a food court near by with fast food options. I came here for chest pains and they were very thorough, running intense set of tests to rule out every possibility. In the end it turned out to be anxiety related issues. Although the wait times are long and I spent better part of the day waiting between tests, they are doing their best to accommodate all patients comfortably

They just taking patients randomly or may be by their emergency rate like which is more important and which is not . . . I never recomend this hospital never ever to anyone . . .

Having suffered a car accident went there. They put the cervical collar and asked me to stay still on the bed and avoid moving. 16hrs later, migraines, flus and several minor cases passing before me. Saw small cases coming and going and didn't get to see a doctor. Hell of a pain on neck, column and knee. Full dizzy and no consultation! 16hrs hours. Impolite nurses and staff. Avoid this slaughter house!

I thought this hospital was great until they cancelled my surgery 2 days before. I know there is someone who really needed my spot, but I am just as important as what they are. I certainly hope its not going to take forever until they re-book it.

Writing this review only as a VISITOR. Visited my friend who gave birth and spent almost 12 days in this hospital. The hospital is massive, yet easy to navigate. Proper signage in English and French everywhere. Very clean and well maintained. The nurses were friendly and attentive. Parking is underground and multilevel, free for the the first 2 hours and after that $6.25. There are a lot of restaurants and coffee shops and a few gift shops as well. Based on my friends’ experience, I’m glad that when care is really required the government does provide the best quality of doctors and service to the patient. P.S - Hope whoever reads this review as a patient or friend/family is reassured that everything will be fine!

Triage is a real disaster in the emergency room. I arrived by ambulance. I waited 5 hours and I still hadn't gone through triage. I had to receive several nursing care, the service is really two-tiered where you come across gems or it's horror.

I had a scheduled c-section here, twins. My doctor was amazing. Most of the staff in the operating room were amazing too. One in particular should have stayed in her lane. I asked my husband to record everything, EVERYTHING, because I was going to be strapped to a table and would not see much. When they took the twins into the adjoining room I told him to go. I went back to watch the recording, a few months later, and I hear a nurse berate my husband for recording. How dare you to presume to know why he is doing anything. Or to pass judgement.. your job is to ensure your safety, my safety and the safety of the newborns. He was doing exactly what we discussed. Exactly what i had discussed with my doctor. On top of it.. my post partum nurses were nothing to celebrate. One overnight nurse in particular, when she checked my babies blood, she was the only one they cried with. She was aggressive and rude. I wanted to breastfeed and not formula. She pressured me to give formula. When I asked to see a lactation consultant she denied my request. My shining light was a nurse who helped me learn how to use the pump and encouraged me. With her help my twins gained weight and we were discharged. My second pregnancy I went to a different hospital. It may have had less technology, but an overall better experience (also a scheduled c-section section). I expected far better. This was just before covid, so covid burnout isn't an excuse here. I will not recommend any of my family give birth here. Go to st. Mary's or Lasalle.

One of the worse hospital experience of my life, and I hope this review could be helpful if you don’t know which ER to go because you’re stressed and uncomfortable in hospital like me, I really regret my choices of hospital. I was told by the neurologist I saw and my home care nurse to go to the ER. I choose to go to this hospital because I heard the MUHC have a good Lupus program. I spent the whole night in my wheelchair with my orthotics on because they didn’t want to give me a stretcher. I have bad pressure sore as a result. Here’s some of the things that the doctor said…Cancer patients are really sick (pointing up high) and lupus patients can wait (pointing down there), I’m fat and should take less opioids and apparently my nurse and neurologist don’t see sick patients in their practice that’s why they both told me to go at the ER, and my family doctor is a bad doctor…..he told me I should have gone to an other hospital and you can be sure that would be the only advice I will follow from that doctor and will never come back. Days after my visit I still feel bad and think about what happened, my nurse, doctors, boyfriend and relative are at least there to help me and I am grateful for that because I felt really alone with that experience in my mind

My girlfriend and I frequent this hospital for our soon-coming child and although there wait times, things progress well with friendly staff. But that's at the regular part of the hospital. I'm writing because I got a viral infection and needed antibiotics, something hospitals have been prescribing for a long time to people who get sick, I see this as something relatively straightforward, get viral infection, see doctor, get tests, get prescription, although I guess since COVID it's gotten more complicated. But the kicker is they put the blood test in the urgent care. To begin; I saw a nice greeter to the hospital named Beckie who when I explained I wasn't dying but I wasn't getting better, that I shouldn't be occupying seats of actually dying people, she agreed, pointed me to the chest and lungs section. I went there, it made sense, they should be able to help, i already had my xrays from the queen elizabeth hospital, should be fast. Very friendly staff meets me, tells me I have to go to urgent care before I can get a doctor in that section because the queen e said to go to urgent care? I went to urgent care. The triage nurse Eduardo was very nice, did his thing. I waited 7 hours, there were at least twenty five people there before I arrived who still hadn't been seen, one who had been seen 4 hours into my wait for her blood test and then just went back to waiting for the results. There was an elderly man with bad knee that left, hobbled out, cuz he knew he wouldn't be seen (I know cuz I spoke to him), there was a woman with broken face who was stressing hard because she couldn't smoke cuz of the pain who'd been there 30 minutes before me- and she's trauma. That's a higher priority than viral infection blood test. When I realized how long she'd been and was going to wait, I realized I'd not be seen for at least another 12 hours- IF nobody else comes in with higher priorities. And I just left. There is no service here and management has issues. If you are missing resources in a specific area, don't send every little problem to that specific area. There's an area dedicated to blood tests, they must have passed hundreds during my wait, take each not-dying urgent care needing a blood test, send them to the blood test area with a urine container and see other doctors. They'll get served quickly, and that's the point of urgent care. Guy with busted knee couldn't see any specific area of the hospital for that sort of injury? Mr. Broken Foot neither? There's no doctor in Montreal's Super Hospital that can't take pressure off of the urgent care ward so people with actual urgent care needs can be cared for? There's not two nurses out of the entire mega hospital that can cover for missing urgent care nurses for a shift? I feel like urgent care is a teenager's messy room corner where they just throw everything they don't feel like dealing properly. But after 7 hours of listening to one elderly man yelling "wellooo" from a gurney they kept moving around, even if i'm dying I'll make the trip to a different hospital. Edit: I added a star because the very nice staff reached out to me to find out if my symptoms were the same or improving seeing as how I'd left before being seen. Very responsible action! That is one positive thing I will emphasize; the staff have been exceptionally welcoming and nice despite the apparent nursing shortages, and that does make a difference.

I came here with a family member for an appointment. It wasn't easy to get a free parking. The staffs are nice and I want to thank them for their work. It seems that ER side is bad. I also noticed that the hospital seems very empty. The gov needs more staff in hospital for public healthcare.

I just called to try to make an appointment for my mother for her thyroid problem. Her doctor gave me an paper with the recommended doctor to see at this hospital. But his written style make it hard to properly read his family name. Once I reached the receptionist (who didn't gave her name), she simply said there is no such doctor with that family name and she asked me for what problem, I said it for her thyroid. She simply hang up the phone without trying to help more.

The staff of the hospital are good but the follow-up policy is very poor. Even a month after being discharged, no call or follow-up appointment. Even after voice messages were sent, no response from the hospital. That is too bad.

New review on August 19, 2023: I apologize and have updated my review from 1 star to 5 stars. I wrote from anger and emotions during my family member’s death. To be honest, there was nothing Royal Victoria could do to have prevented this. Certain things in life are coincidental and cannot be explained. However, the doctors did the best they can and they even allowed my deceased family member to stay for a few hours and not have them transported, as my father was driving back from Toronto to Montreal to see them… this is a great hospital, the surgeon who was to have performed the surgery was well educated and experienced. The nurses were very nice and answered any of our questions, especially the main nurse who kept the body until late night just so my father can see one last time. The hospital, not once, said “no” to any of our questions and allowed us to visit exceptionally off-hours. This was my life’s most painful memory but also, some of the most humane and empathetic from a hospital that must see many passings… thank you Royal Victoria team and please continue to save lives. I have a large respect and have changed my perspectives in life after witnessing this sort of thing for the first time. It is thanks to you and your team of professionals who have the courage to do what they do each day. I commend large respect for your team after dealing with emotions, tragedies and mentally scarring events. Old review on August 14, 2023 during my family member’s passing: Very poor and terribly managed hospital. I lost a dear very close family member due to Royal Vic not coordinating between the general hospital and their own hospital during my family member’s transfer. Upon questioning the doctors, they couldn’t answer why they did certain things. In short, no accountability and full negligence on their patients. Writing this review at the time of my close one’s passing.

I have been here in the ER since 1130 am and I am still waiting to see a doctor; it’s now 1110 pm. It’s amazing that the service is so bad and extremely slow. Most walk in clinics will do only tele-health and some of the websites to book appointments on the Government Medical Appointment Scheduler does not work. Patients have little resources to get medical attention and so they end up at the ER. This is crazy?? Not only is it unsafe; it is inhumane. It is time to prioritize patients health care and access to medical care now that the pandemic is stabilizing. I know the staff and doctors are over worked but the government must improve hospital services including decrease waiting time to see a doctor.

I received excellent care for several years from the emergency department and the breast clinic. All the staff there are my heroes!! Keep up the fantastic work!

I am sharing an experience where a family member was brought in by ambulance (on more than one occasion), I don't know how waiting in emergency is but my brother received great care both times at this hospital. The nurses and doctors seemed stretched thin but did the best they could. They quickly ordered tests and were prepared in case extreme measures were required and they very kind to me. We've had an experience with a different department at this hospital where they were disorganized but I can say the emergency department was on top of everything.

The staff is professional and have very tough jobs; I feel for them. BUT there is a serious shortage of staff and it leaves patients completely abandonned in the ER. I have been waiting for 12 hours to see a doctor for a racoon bite and still haven't been seen. I have seen numerous elderly hurt & sick people come in and wait for hours until they couldn't take it anymore and left back home. It breaks my heart. I have been asking for a blanket since I got here (the AC is very strong) and no one is able to give me one in 12hrs time. It's a miserable environment and I wish never to come back again... I hope I can leave soon.

Worst!! Waited 20 hours not seen by the Doctor. Decided to go home because the nurses told me that some waited for 36 hours. I don't know if that waiting time is still acceptable.

The 1 star should be zero, but directed to the overall quebec healthcare system. Shame on quebec! A family member is still waiting for over 24 hours at the ER center.

My overall experience has been impeccable and memorable, as a patient or visitor which I have been multiple times. However, I’m appalled by how poorly managed and disrespectful the volunteer department was towards a volunteer at one of the entrances. Whatever May have happened, that volunteer did not deserve to be spoken and treated with zero respect at one of the entrances. Disgusting! This speaks so poorly of their staff and how little they respect or acknowledge the volunteers who are putting their free time to help others in the midst of a pandemic! I sincerely hope that this review raises a concern for the hospital management staff. I would sincerely advice to think twice and put in your kindness and time to volunteer elsewhere that you’d be respected and appreciated.

When someone like Denis Gaumond can't be bothered to sign and send off duly completed paperwork for staff to be paid, and incomplete information is given as to why it hasn't been paid out, this creates trust issues with pay. People leave and have reason not to come back. Insufficient seriousness is put into ensuring that patients can be served in either languages as per their own policy. This issue appears to be systemic, across MUHC sites with the worse offenders being their short term or contractual hires such as security guards which put both staff and patients at risk if each of them do not speak both languages. How many more healthcare professionals need to be physically or verbally abused because of this? What corrective measures will taken to ensure that all staff are able to speak both languages? How will you hold the contracting companies accountable for providing staff that actually fulfill the requirements sent to them? I'm guessing nothing, because it was like this even when there wasn't a shortage of labour, so no excuses. Management shrugs their shoulders and just says they asked, never what follow-up they did, what measurable or demonstrable improvements they've made. CA Ulley also incompetent, please tell the patient who does diabetes research for a living that came in at BG 3.9mM that they are hypoglycemic due to a "post-timbit crash", please also ignore the volunteer paramedic having carted the patient in. Michelle Lion(?) should have clued into why there was no response from such a patient 1h17 later, if the purported visit to the waiting room was actually done.

Went in at the children for baby in emergency. Turns out he had bronchitis and fever. All the nurses and residents were super alerte even on the night shift and very compassionate. Doctors were great. Thank you for your help and time 🙏🙏❤️

Worst hospital ever. My wife almost died because of a big mistake from the part of various "professionals" well... she gave birth cesarean. 3 days following her childbirth, she started having stomachache, nausea, vomiting and she couldn't eat anything. We spoke with doctors nurses. They wouldn't discover her real problem. Childbirth sector says it's a virus. Emergency "ileus" a stomach stress. We tried convincing them it was a "peritonite" they wouldn't believe. We gave up on them and went to "cite de la sante" in laval to have her recovered. She was really in a bad shape. They were more spontaneous and through examination it was confirmed it was a peritonite. She had to remain a month in the hospital taking intravenous antibiotics because of royal Victoria hospital mistake. My daughter could not be breastfeeding because of the antibiotics. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

The waiting time in ER is crazily long, the nurse is absurdly rude, said to my face “You really have a bad health history, huh? “ I waited for more than 8 hours because of sudden vision loss, and no one ever called my name to receive treatment. They simply told me to keep waiting. There’s another single mom in the waiting area who has waited for more than 12 hours and she had to left her children at home. What is the point of so called emergency ? If you don’t think my case it’s an emergency, then why refuse to discharge me or transfer me to another hospital? I assume that they probably would say everything is done to reduce the wait time, but apparently nothing has changed at least till now. Don’t go to this useless place.
