    I moved fro Vancouver to Montreal for my job. I am shocked to see how horrible the medical care in Quebec despite the higher deduction on provincial taxes and health care that they cut from my paycheque. I hope the one year here in this shixhole pass quickly so I can go back to British Columbia!!! This Montreal is for the Canadian salves not the citizens

    I had Robotic surgery done on April 28th, spent a total of 5 days. The Surgery went perfect, everyone from ICU to post op 3rd floor were caring and professional. And get this.. The food was actually very good ! Another great experience @ ICM, on Friday 06/16. This place exemplifies perfection. A great big thank you to Dr that drained my lung with precision & humor, as well as nurses that took excellent care of me. I love you all but don't want to see you again. BBQ at my house OK, but no more hospitals.

    This hospital is a joke. I have been waiting for an urgent surgery for almost 6 months now. I have no idea how this hospital works. But this is unbelievable. I had to go to an emergency, because I wasn't feeling well. I saw three different doctors, they all said the same thing, it's an unusually long wait for a heart surgery. And yet I'm still waiting. And my condition is getting worse. I would love to know how their system works if they have any system at all. Who goes first? Obviously not an urgent case. But to be honest I don't even know if I want to have a surgery at this place after this . How can I trust this place with my life now? And to the person who answers the comments with the same line. Please don't even bother. That won't help me.

    Came here for a blood test and the staff were really quick and efficient. They were also extremely gentle with me and treated my arm with respect. They were friendly and it was obvious they enjoyed their work. The staff work with great synergy.

    The lady told my mom why she wear a hijab. My mon told her its her religion. The lady says maybe in your country but not in mine!!!🤬

    Doctors have no respect for patient being cared for. They discuss matters of the patient detail in front of him. They told him to his face your going to die, this not the correct way to do things. Talk to the family member in private, not in front of him. I don't recommend coming here VERY BAD EXPERIENCE.

    Had trouble breathing yesterday Never was attended to like this in my life I did spend almost 7 hours there. The place is spotless. Very professional everyone. Blood work done X-rays. Scan. Best medical service

    What’s wrong with the doctors at the Emergency? I had chest pain, went there, they seemed annoyed that I chose that hospital. When they saw that my pain was not necessarily caused by heart, they refused/couldn’t explain the plain despite being doctors. I get it, you’re a hospital that deals with the heart but the patient who’s having pain in the chest doesn’t know about what’s going on. Why would I donate money to a place that treats you like you’re an idiot for showing up. If I enter the ER, it’s cause I’m feeling extremely bad and it’s an emergency, just do your job, respect your oath and stop acting like patient is wasting your time.

    Left 5 messages for a call back to book a follow up for my husband. He was due for a follow up with internist Dr. Perusse in July, no one called. His meds were only prescribed for 6 months and now they are finished. The pharmacist at Jean Coutu as well called the hospital for a follow up and they gave the pharmacist attitude because she was calling on a Saturday, they said we see a note for follow up in July but they forgot, they gave her a number for me to call back on the Monday. I called the number on the Monday and got attitude as well and they transferred to this doctor's secretary, another voicemail box, left yet another a voice message and still no call back!! Do we show up in person?? Unacceptable!!

    I cannot say enough about Dr. Lena Rivard....she literally saved my life. I have lived with arrhythmia my whole life, but in 2012 I suffered from life-threatening tachycardia. Dr. Rivard performed the 1st procedure on me, which works in 90% of cases like mine, but sadly, I fell in the 10% for whom it did not work. I had to have a 2nd procedure, which was relatively new at the time...Dr. Rivard explained very clearly what the risks were, as well as why she felt I was a candidate and I trusted her implicitly! Ultimately, after zapping me a record 47 times, she was able to eliminate my tachycardia and saved my life! I am followed every year to make sure that my health remains stable. Recently, I contacted her with concerns about my Father's health. Although it was not her area of expertise, she referred us to the members of her team that were specialized in that area. At 82 years (young), my father received a triple bypass and valve replacement that enabled him to continue living his best, most active life! Dr. Rivard is an incredibly competent, caring, compassionate surgeon. If you are lucky enough to be her patient, you are in extremely capable hands! I have read some negative reviews about the staff at the hospital... I spent 3 weeks there and my Dad was there for a month. I found the staff to be extremely competent, caring and friendly. Hospital environments have been extremely difficult during covid, but I applaud the professionalism of the staff at the ICM

    Excellent staff. Upon my arrival Kate, wonderful nurse to me in and took excellent care. All staff may I say have also a great sense of humour. They put you at ease immediately. Can’t say enough. Thank you!!

    Bad experience during my heart surgery, most of them (including nurses) can sometimes only communicate in French and this is really hard for English speaking patients. Naturally nurses cannot explain properly in english what they are doing / giving to you!! I know this is a common scenario in Quebec, but as a health institution, absolutely not acceptable. Also I left couple of messages to followups with doctor, I don't know why no one replied back! Might be because of English message they don't understand !!! Don't take it light, a heart patient could require advice from the doctor after surgery anytime and this is a responsibility for the institution to call back.I called the ext 2522 and its always goes to voice message to left messages but no one replied back! Royal Victoria is far more better than this. Not recommend this hospital until you have no options left! Two stars from me only for doctors, they are good fortunately.

    The admin staff is incompetant. Diane Zghaib and Sylvie Mireault in the HR department are unfair when it comes to screening candidates for job openings. They continuously ignored my emails. Discusting and a bad reflexion of the MHI

    This is by far the best hospital in Quebec! I presented with mild angina on a Thursday and was given an angioplasty on Friday afternoon! The doctors are top notch and very professional and the staff are warm and welcoming and very integrated. I feel safe there and well cared for....amazing place!

    I would like to wholeheartedly thank the entire staff of the Cardiology Institute for the wonderful care provided to my conjugal partner. He underwent a Ross procedure for heart surgery. From the bottom of my heart, I thank once again the cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons who performed the surgery, nurses, ward attendants, and all other staff for their outstanding care, understanding, and humane approach to the patient—I lack words to describe all these wonderful people. Once again, thank you all very much from the bottom of my heart! You are amazing! <3

    Very bad place to work. They don't give opportunities to grow and learn. My friend got a job there and she just graduated from school. People judged her by saying she asked too much questions and that she was supposed to know everything as she just graduated. Very unfair for new employees. There's a lot of hypocrisy in the hospital and favoritisme.

    Called to know if I can drop my appointment request in person. The receptionist transferred me to an automated message for faxing it and never answered if I could come drop it in person. If that's the kind of service they give to people when you call, can't imagine the rest! I'd rather have an heart attack at home and die than deal with people who don't want to work.

    I’d like to take the time to speak about the rude service I received by the lady at front desk in the blood test department today. I present myself without a hospital card or appointment as my own SISTER came and did the same a couple months ago. I explain to the lady (reddish hair and glasses) that I did not have an appointment and she then asks me the most irrelevant questions and begins to tell me that I need to book an appointment and that I don’t have a hospital card. I then explain to her that my sister came a couple months ago and they made her a card and took her blood tests without any issue. She then tells me I cannot SPECULATE why my sister came, as if I don’t know my own sister’s whereabouts and reasoning for coming. She then looks at me and asks who the man is next to me which was my boyfriend. Once again as if there is any relevance to my blood test appointment. So I leave and go ask someone else for help because this lady was just rude and no help at all. Another lady finally helped me and told me to just make a card with the lovely lady & then they explained to me nicely how they’d rather people make appointments . Which was no problem. They made me a card and brought me back to the room where the rude lady was. She then calls me back to inscription and tells me “ u know I didn’t mean to judge it’s just don’t start telling all your friends about coming here” WHAT IS THIS A PARTY ??? All I wanted was a blood test done and go on about my day. This lady was so incompetent and so unhelpful I’ve never seen this in my life. Absolutely unacceptable. I did my blood tests which took 10 minutes and that’s it I don’t understand why it had to be so hard for this lady just to explain to me to go get a hospital card made and come back. She was trying to send me home. For no absolute reason when they had space there was ONE other person In the waiting area.
