This place is awesome. The staff is super courteous and helpful. The ambience is so warm and welcoming. We came here on a rainy and cold evening and the food just hit home. Everything was so delicious and simple. Five stars. Tried the Moscow Mule, Sangria, Eggplant Bharta, Braised Tofu Curry, Seasonal vegetable curry, Chocolate Brownie, Orange cake. The portions are good and the price is great. Ps. Find the awesome notes in the small drawers on each table.

The place is closed down. Google maps should reflect that instead of directing people to this restaurant.

A MUST GO when you visit or if you live in Montreal. The entire experience is well put together, reasonable prices, and most importantly delicious vegan food! I had the spinach pastry with cashew cream, burrito, and brownie. All items were delicious! The staff was friendly, atmosphere a vibe in itself. Highly recommended!

We went to the Place des Arts location and it is reservation only. We called the Milton location and they got us a table right away. The service was amazing with Rory, the food to die for and overall an awesome atmosphere! My sister was visiting from L.A and fell in love. Said she will be back just for Lola Rosa. I used to go to the Parc location but Milton is the bomb... Will be back soon because I kept craving the nachos since Saturday 🤤 🍠🍪🍔 We had the nachos, the Hemp burger, the cheesesteak and the brownie. 🍹 For drinks, we had the mango sunrise. Just Waouh... Everything was excellent! The portions were huge.. I don't know how I squized the brownie in but I did and it was 100% worth it. Even if you're not vegan, go try it... It's amaze-ball... I promise 👌

I had dinner at Lola Rosa on a Sunday night and absolutely loved it! The restaurant itself is quaint and cozy and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The Moscow Mule was one of the best I’ve ever had! The Bolognese Lasagna was well worth the 20 minutes it takes to cook! And I couldn’t pass up the brownie with ice cream with an espresso for dessert. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Street parking. Heart of McGill ghetto so lots of young minds. Friendly staff. All vegan menu. The much raved nachos deserved the hype. The vegan cashew cheese was decadent. Generous portions with lots of legumes so there wasn't room to finish my main meal even though it was delicious. Alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks available.

Celebrated my birthday here, and it was perfect! The service was wonderful, the staff was kind and welcoming. The place was so homey, cozy and cute. Everyone loved their vegan food and drinks. I had the curry, and my friends enjoyed the carrot tartare, vegan lasagna, savory salad, tacos, and the delicious tofu with fried vegetables—highly recommend it. The cozy atmosphere, with hidden letters in the tables from previous guests, makes it a unique experience. I'll definitely come back! As a bonus, they offered strawberry coulis with the vegan cake my friends brought for my birthday, and it was a perfect combination. Thank you for making my birthday so special ❤️🍰

We loved everything, one of the best vegan restaurants we’ve been to (or even the very best). I want to live in Montreal, just to be able to come here anytime. We had the chili and the special, miso mac and cheese.

My first dine out in Montreal is here in 2019. The meal after my phd defense was here months ago. Now it may be the last meal in Canada because I am going to leave. Time flies and I will always remember the beautiful experience in Montreal and the food here.

I was hesitant being a non vegan when we walked into this restaurant but it has an immediate relaxing atmosphere. The menu sounded very interesting and we ordered nachos to start. I can tell you that those are amongst the best nachos I've ever eaten. I only realized after a few bites that there was no cheese which makes sense. My lasagna was also very delicious. It had interesting flavours of chickpeas and other things I couldn't place but enjoyed. Our waitress was very friendly and fast. I'm glad I didn't walk out after hearing vegan. I felt adventurous that day and it paid off. Highly recommend this place. Especially the nachos!

We arrived late (our flight was delayed) after 14 hours travelling from the UK. The team were SO kind! Rehydrated us without us once needing to ask for more water and such friendly service. The food was AMAZING - I forgot to photograph the nachos: best I've ever eaten and 100% vegan. Sadly we were too full and tired to reach dessert. Thank you Lola Rosa for the perfect dinner after a long haul day.

My 4th visit and it never disappoints. Haven't been since 2018 and I was thrilled to discover they're fully vegan. I had the burrito and enjoyed some of my husband's nachos. Simple and delicious. We shared the brownie dessert and it was tres magnifique!

A bit cramped, but ambience was there. Prices were good for the presentation and portion sizes, especially the seasonal soup. Staff were also kind and accommodating. The food tasted terrible and I got super hungry 30 minutes afterwards, but I assume that's the nature of being a vegan restaurant.

First time eating here and I wish I lived in Montreal!!! We are visiting for my wife's conference and decided to try Lola Rosa. Was not disappointed! We had vegan poutine and it was incredible!! My wife and I are going to try making this back in Florida. I had the burrito and it was wonderful. My wife had the braised tofu and vegetables. The flavors were incredible! We shared the lemon pie and chocolate pie. Both were delicious

This place has a really cozy vibe. However, the sadly don't offer the same stuff that they do at the main location near Place de arts. I got icetea, the salad and brownie with ice for dessert. The icetea was a bit of a disappointment, it had more so a fall feel to it(it had hints of cinnamon), the it didn't even look like an icetea and definitely didn't taste like one. The salad on the other hand was really good and filling and so was the dessert. The service was quick and friendly as well. I would surely go back but not not for the icetea.

I was excited to come here for brunch after reading the reviews and the menu, but I didn’t find out until I got here that they don’t have brunch. Need to update the website. I got the spanakopita, was okay, maybe too big and too much pastry part, but was still pretty good. Also got the cheesesteak and it was okay. Oh well! The staff was pleasant and the little notes in the drawer were so nice to read.

Love the ambient environment of the restaurant as well as the interior. The restaurant staffs were amazing and super friendly. The price seems reasonable considering the quality of the food and the service of the restaurant. As a Bangladeshi food lover, my taste buds always look for something spicy and hot and I was touched to see the 'Aubergine Bhorta' which I used to eat a lot back in my school days. I was a bit disappointed as the recipe I used to eat contain a lot of Green chilli with a small pinch of mustard and tomato. I can understand the restaurant needs to cater a variety of foodies, so they need to adapt the spice level. No complaint for it. But I would request to keep some green chillies so that we can add it to make our food more hot 😉

Love the place.. one of the best vegan restaurants in Montreal.. the ambience is great and the people are really warm and welcoming. We really enjoyed the food. The Tunisian stew and the black bean and sweet potato burrito were an absolute treat. You should definitely try the mango flavoured mocktail.. it was so refreshing.. definitely must try this place!

Lola Rose in Montreal is a true culinary delight. The nachos and Dirty Tea I tried were simply fantastic. The nachos were loaded with flavor and made to perfection. As for the Dirty Tea, it was a refreshing and unique beverage. What truly stood out was the excellent customer service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience, making us feel welcomed and valued. Lola Rose combines great food with exceptional service, making it a must-visit in Montreal.

One of the best vegetarian food I have ever eaten. I’m an Asian, we have our own masalas, and I used to think nothing can match that. However, this place is the best place to dine in if you are near by. Only complaint is the waiting time. We waited for 30 to 49 mins for the food and the restaurant was not that busy. There was a French speaking waiter. He communicates little in English, but he can suggest best dishes, and he was good with servicing the food too. Overall I’m happy.

I've dinned in before and ordered the large ceasar and have loved the portion size and taste. Tonight I ordered the large ceasar to share as a side with my partner and there was hardly enough for 1let alone 2. Also there were no capers which I love and expected. Very disappointed and Uber won't do anything to help. 23$ for a few bites of salad is not ok.

I've been coming here for the last 4 years and everytime the food and service has been spectacular. The nachos are so unique and full of flavor, I would recommend everyone to try it. The Milton branch of Lola Rosa is definitely better in terms of food and service than the Place des Arts one, speaking from experience of visiting both on several occasions. Vegan food at its best

Nachos to write home and wax eloquent about. Veg curry was out of this world! Side note: Can never get used to North American portion sizes! How is this a 'half' plate mate??! 😂

Cute small hotel. As a vegetarian, eating in a pure vegetarian/vegan restaurant is a challenge during travel. But Lola Rosa came for rescue. Very tasty vegan food. Bhaingan Barta though served as appetizer , very close to Indian Bhaingan Barta taste. We had tofu bowl, sweet potato wedges as well. All tasted great. Staff were very courteous and pleasant. Would definitely recommend.

Great food. Went there yesterday around 4.15 pm.We loved the tofu & flavoured rice. Staff is very kind & attentive that’s what gave our eat out a special touch. The server was all alone when we arrived soon the tables filled up. Even then she made every customer comfortable & served with professionalism. I wish I knew her name.

Been coming here for almost 8 years. First time back after the pandemic, service was great as always but I didn't know they changed from Vegetarian to Vegan a year ago. I was pretty disappointed with the nachos since there was no cheese (vegan cheese, not the same) The lasagna always had a delicious melted top of cheese on it omg it used to be so good and this time it was like nothing was there. Nothing against vegan food but I wish they would say it on the menu or advertise it more. I wouldn't have ordered anymore after the Nachos if I knew.

After hearing about this cafe for years, it was actually underwhelming. Very casual, we went for a weekend lunch and it was empty. I got their lasagna and Caesar salad and it was delicious but definitely tasted “vegan”, not cheesy. It used to be a vegetarian restaurant but has recently gone vegan. I love vegan restaurants and eating vegan substitutes, but this felt underwhelming. I would definitely go back and eat again but wasn’t really worth being on my Montreal bucket list - would only go back if it’s convenient, wouldn’t go out of my way to visit. Also it’s a really short menu, not a lot of choices. My friend got vegan nachos and they really weren’t great, the cheese sauce was bland and overall the whole dish was bland. I thought it was a vegetarian Mexican restaurant; that’s what I was told 10 years ago but it’s clearly no longer the case.

I've eaten at two Lola Rosa locations. This one was small, full of young university students and really LOUD! The food was okay but not amazing! The location on Parc Avenue was bigger and at least when we went, much less noisy. The food was much better at that location though it was a while back when the restaurant was vegetarian (not vegan as it now is) though we ate vegan both times. It's a great place for a younger crowd and I'm glad to see these young educated kids eating plant based.

We ordered bhaigan bharta, soup of the day, chickpea salad, small nachos and pepper beer (my husband tried for the first time and loved it). Everything was delicious and even small nachos can be shared amongst 3-4 people. Service was good too.

Loved this place! The service was really nice and the food was just as good. There were so many options and even though all of the food was vegan I couldn’t tell the difference as a vegetarian! We got the half nachos, cheesesteak, hemp burger, and tofu with rice. All four dishes were flavorful and delicious, but my favorite was definitely the nachos. Overall, a lovely place and highly recommend it!

I’ve been keep on coming back to Lola Rosa in the last 6 years. It’s always excellent food (except for a brief period during COVID where it was take-out only), very healthy, and great staff. Maybe try avoiding peak hours due to the wait. They have cute drawers where you can put little scripts for the future customers to read. The only thing I’d change is larger portion size (or at least the option to increase the portion size).

Trash. If this is the best vegan spot in the area, Canada is doomed. The blackened tofu was way too hot. The rice was dry AF. Look at the pictures.

  • 4/5 Annabelle L. 1 year ago on Google
Ate the vegetable curry and it was really good, perfectly seasoned. The grilled tortilla was perfectly charred and paired really well with the curry and basmati rice. Curry is by no means authentic to Indian curry, but it’s in its own league of “western curry” styles. It’s served with vegetables like long beans and firm tofu, and sprinkled with spring onions. The service was good and the ambience too. Pretty decent prices, my meal with a Roobois tea came up to CAD29 inclusive of tips. It’s also a very quaint quiet restaurant that stands out among the buildings in the area.

The lasagna, spanakopita, and even accompanying salad were all amazing. The service was excellent and the notes in the table drawer were great entertainment! I wish we had tried the desert, but we were just too full. Big mistake. 10/10 would recommend!

I’ve walked by this place for years but have never gone in. Too bad because it was a really good meal. I really enjoyed the braised tofu and legumes dish with cream of coriander. The price was good too. I highly recommend. Plus, it was gluten free.

Amazing comfort food and such a chill and cozy atmosphere. I love that it's vegan as well! The perfect place for students living in the Ghetto to grab a bite to eat on a cold day. Really cute restaurant, the waiters are really nice and thoughtful. Without being too expensive the dishes are really really good. Be careful though when they say it's spicy it is really spicy. The portions are pretty big. There's usually always free tables at noon even thought it's sometimes is full on the evening. Definitely recommend.

This restaurant is a great vegetarian restaurant. It has a good variety of dishes from mexican to Italian to american. That is a big plus because there is something for everyone. So we got nachos (small), which is still a big portion. They were very good & filling. The veggies burger was next. It had good flavor. It would better with a mayo based sauce. Also would love if they served fries with it (baked fries to be healthier). The final dish was the lasagna. I personally am not too big on lasagna in general but this one was good & had lots of melted mozzarella on top. For dessert we got the brownie with the vanilla ice cream. It was divine. Our son who never eats that combination.....destroyed it!! Service we excellent. I highly recommend eating here if visiting Montreal.

Lola Rosa always has the curry that I crave and it is always so good! There is added sweetness from the raisins, protein from the tofu and the seasonal veggies always keep me on my toes. Lola Rosa never disappoints. The portion for the curry is perfect and the bread is always warm.

My mom and I went for lunch, and were so glad to have arrived at 11:30 when they opened because wow did the restaurant fill up. We shared a small salad (which was huge and gorgeous and delicious and full of veggies), I had a hemp burger which was okay - though it was generous and came with wonderful salads, and she had the tomato pie which was amazing. I highly recommend this bustling spot for salad and quiche (I've also had their lasagna in the past and it was wonderfully cheese and creamy)

Best vegan food spot in Montreal hands down. Every ingredient on the menu was clearly crafted with care! We ordered 4 items (nachos, a burger, the chilli, and a desert which i forgot the name) and all the dishes tasted WONDERFUL (even by carnivore standards!!). My vegan friend was mind-blown at discovering this spot. The girl waitress there that was super knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all our questions about the ingredients. Will definitely be back!

Lola Rosa is a FANTASTIC place for cozy and satisfying plant-based meals in the McGill ghetto. It's a vegetarian restaurant but there are tons of (clearly-labelled) vegan options that I want to try. Their dishes are all colorful, vibrant, and simply but beautifully plated. The portions sizes are generous but not excessive. I also love the reasonable prices (expect to spend around 18$ including tax and tip). The interior is small but the decor is cute and homey. Honestly, this just may be my new favorite restaurant in Montreal! I had the vegan burrito stuffed with sweet potato puree, black beans, corn, and red pepper, and topped with salsa and creamy avocado-lime sauce + rice & salad. Many people recommended the Lola Rosa burrito to me, and they weren't wrong! This is probably the best vegan burrito I've ever had.

The food is good, and the atmosphere is friendly and cosy. It is great for students since the location is at the centre of the McGill Ghetto. The menu has a diversity of oppositions, but I tried the “ragoût tunisien” and the “Tofu braisé and the légumes sautés”. I enjoyed the ragoût more; I found it was richer in flavour. The price isn’t too bad, particularly for the service. I definitely believe some of the options on their menu are better than others; I would recommend it.

I have been to Lola Rosa on many occasions and let me say, this place rocks! As a non veggie/vegan person i have to say the first time I came I didn't even know the nachos were vegetarian. the food overall is amazing no complaints. I also quite enjoy the little drawer or notes attached to each table, its fun to sit and read them while waiting for food.

Very cozy restaurant with great staff. Always super friendly but due to COVID has shut down for long periods of time. Really miss coming in and grabbing a quick bit to eat. One thing is that their is limited space in the actual restaurant so make a reservation since it's very popular! Very good vegetarian food though.

Always reliable for cheap and cheerful vegetarian food conveniently close to the McGill campus. Some of the fare is on the bland side, but you can't go wrong here. Good selection of beer on tap as well.

A great place for a high quality vegetarian/vegan dinner. Excellent tastes, friendly service, and relaxed atmosphere make this a 'must" for veggies looking ea good evening. Often a mix be of local University students and staff, the mood is energetic and laid back at the same time. Whenever I am in Montreal, I try to stop here too enjoy chef's special. You should, too!

The hemp burger was the best burger I've ever had.
