The steak was cooked perfect! All the food was delicious and the service was also great! They also gave us an ice cream cake as it was my birthday! We went at 6pm and it was not too crowded. I recommend making a reservation before you visit this restaurant!

What is NOT to love about The Keg? This was our first visit and I am already looking forward to the next! The food was amazing, but the real gem was the service provided by our waitress, Sydney, who was phenomenal!!! Nothing but high praises from us both! She knew her stuff, was informative, spoke clearly and not so low so we couldn't hear and she was attentive throughout the meal but not overbearing! If I must make one negative comment, it's that the bathrooms were slightly disappointing - perhaps time for a reno?

The staff are very friendly and the food was absolutely fantastic. Can't remember the last time I had such a fantastic steak and baked potato. Portion was large and arrived piping hot. Also enjoyed the ceasar salad. Portion was huge.

There's a reason this place is the best! Tastiest and juiciest steak I've ever had, plus the best baked potato by far. Not dry and bland at all like other places. They even offered complementary champagne since I was celebrating an anniversary (Just make sure to note when making reservations)

The prime rib is a must! So is the lobster tail, it melts in your mouth like butter, moat delicious I've ever had. The tuna tartar is amazing and so are the sizzling butter shrimp, we didn't care for the Neptune mushrooms, the cream mixture combination was just off, otherwise absolutely fantastic meal and ambiance, our waitor Eric was fantastic, like having an old friend around helping you find the perfect meal to eat, just absolutely great experiance and atmosphere all around.

Overall the service, food, and atmosphere were spot on! I’d recommend going more rare on your meat order though. All of ours were cooked more than what we ordered, but the meat still was fantastic! The tuna tartar was the best dish we had thought. I’d highly recommend eating here.

I visited The Keg for the first time ever one weekday evening and I was greeted by friendly front of house staff who got us seated at a table within a few minutes. Our table waiter was pleasant and took time to go through the menu with me. After deciding on our dishes there was a fair bit of wait time between the appetizer and the main, there seem to have been a shortage of workers on the floor. The blackened chicken was terribly salty (I am sure it would have had good flavour if it wasn't for the amount of salt used) The BBQ ribs was not that flavourful either, but the mashed potato, fries, was good. The corn biscuit was too hard but has a decent flavour to it. The Atmoshere was dimly lit which was nice, but even though it wasn't noisy, the sounds of dinnerware breaking (more than once) was enough to ruin the ambiance. The location is nice, but for the price and quality of the food I personally would not be eager to visit again.

Had a great time today trying this place. The food was delicious, drinks was great and waiter was very friendly and kind. Definitely coming back again to try more food and maybe I’ll get dessert since this time I was full from the drinks 😋

Came here as a treat to myself as my last meal before I head back to the states. Dominic was the bartender/server and was very kind and attentive, also made great drinks! The food was also delicious and well made. I needed a bit more pepper, but its just my personal preference. Definitely a great meal to end a wonderful trip! Cheers!

Walking through the little streets of Montreal, and feeling hungry, we walked into this restaurant that looked well located and had a wide variety on their menu. We were in the mood for burgers, so we ordered that along with a Caesar salad as an appetizer. The service was top-notch, they brought us warm bread with a delicious herb butter. The selection of drinks and beers was on point, and we loved what we ordered (Moscow mule and an IPA). The burgers were really good 👍 and the prices were quite reasonable. I totally recommend it!

A must try steakhouse in Montreal, not only the food is amazing but the service and ambiance is friendly and cozy!! Compared with other steakhouse , the Keg indeed stand the first place in my list. The price point is similar as other quality steakhouse ~ 140$ for 2 persons with full meals ( Rib steak and Filet mignon) and wines. Baked potato is extremely yummy, must be the best baked potato ever. Don’t forget to treat yourself with their signature desserts - Billy miner pie Highly recommend!

Nice steak 🥩 restaurant at old Montreal. Ordered the steak with lobster 🦞, lobster was cook nicely. Not too old. The onion soup was so so. It’s nice to have different choices for the sides if you order a main dish.

What a delicious experience! Steaks aged and grilled to perfection, great appetizers, fresh salads and decadent deserts will keep you coming back to check off all the items on the menu. The decor is relaxed and the bathrooms are clean. Our waiter Antonin made our birthday visit memorable. Merci!

10/10 Love Montreal This place was amazing. Our Waitress Abigail (I believe) was polite & told us about the special’s. She made it easy by serving us in English. Since our French is not so good. Yet we try. The history and atmosphere of this building is perfect for special occasions and is worth wondering around. The food was cooked to perfection. I enjoy mine well done. No pink, cooked through and still had juices and not dried out. I was told the escargot was amazing. I didn’t try it. Wine selection was large. To top it all off literally. The Stanley Cup was above us at another function which was part of the NHL Recharge/Draft I believe. Overall it was an incredible experience. I recommend to all...-Dw

Went there for anniversary, which they were aware of and congratulated us, thank you! The table was not ready when we arrived but they were very polite about it. Ordered onions soup for appetizer which was extraordinary, full-bodied and full of flavour. Main course steaks were a thinner than expected and a bit on the dry side, so I suggest ordering one level below your desired doneness. Mushroom rice was the best accompaniment to the steaks both in terms of portion and taste. Chocolate cake for dessert was very rich and delicious. The waiter was attentive and helpful. Thank you keg!

I love the steak here at the Keg! Since I'm on a keto diet, this place is perfect for me! Plenty of seating space both inside and out. The staff is polite and friendly! The atmosphere outside watching all the people go by is so surreal. Will definitely be coming back!

I am a loyal Keg diner for 40+ years having celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, special occasions and regular dining in numerous locations coast to coast but this location is an unfortunate exception to the usual enjoyable and satisfying experience as this restaurant is the absolute worst. The management here would be the obvious problem as the server we had tonight was either totally inexperienced or just poorly trained which completely ruined our first night visiting Montreal. The beer taps were apparently broken tonight and the suggested canned IPA beer was terrible and undrinkable. We received only one order of escargot as the waitress somehow assumed we were sharing. We ate solo waiting forever for another appetizer. The waitress was so inattentive that we weren’t even able to order our entrees or order a different beer as she spent too much time engaging in lengthy conversations with guests at other tables completely ignoring us. There was never any sign of a floor manager to appeal to for assistance. As our impatience, frustration and temper grew we were ready to walk out but finally received and paid our bill including the two full undrinkable beer and returned to our hotel in a bad mood. Thank you management and server for ruining our first night visiting Montreal. Coincidentally we had dined 6 nights ago at the Toronto York Keg location and posted rave reviews after experiencing an excellent and exceptional dining experience.

Steak was perfectly prepared, and burger well stacked. We enjoyed our drinks and appetizer before dinner. The service was great(by our waiter Gregory). From our table by the windows, we enjoyed the Saturday afternoon strollers in old montreal.

Sat in the lounge Feb 15th for a 9pm reservation. I wish we remembered our server’s name but he was wonderful! We were sat on time, in a booth, which I asked for in the reservation notes. $150 for rib steak, 14oz prime rib and sangria pitcher before tip. Quite pricey to me but I don’t go to these type of places, I was given a gift card, so maybe that’s on the cheap end of steakhouse prices? I’ll leave that for you to decide. I’d definitely go back if given another gift card (or if I had the money to spare) and I must say it was the best steak I’ve ever eaten! Perfectly rare throughout, verging near blue rare close to the bone which is my preference. Their steak knives are incredibly dull though, pretty difficult to cut with. Sangria pitcher was huge and strong for the price. My partner liked the prime rib but said he preferred the steak I ordered- from trying the prime rib, it was a bit dry and I wouldn’t really recommend it if you’re craving steak. However it was the last of that size for the night, so it’s probably better earlier in the day. The red wine sauce was great. Again, our server was absolutely fantastic and made sure the kitchen had the prime rib in the size we wanted. So in short, if you’re comfortable with the price, I’d recommend this place.

My favorite Keg to date! My friend has a mushroom intolerance and not only did the waitress ensure that this was passed onto the chefs, two managers came to check-in with us and re-assure us on the avoidance of cross contamination. It was truly impressive! The food was also cooked to perfection from our drinks (margaritas, espresso martini, Caesar), appetizers of roasted cauliflower and mains. Will definitely return, even for a drink in their bar/lounge section which has a very nice ambiance and vibe too.

Had a group dinner here. The service was great, fairly fast given how busy it was on the Friday night and the server was super friendly/accommodating of my groups requests (for example, he took a photo for us and packaged our leftovers nicely to go). However, the food was, at best, alright. I ordered a mixed green salad (hard to go wrong there) and the blackened chicken. Found the chicken to be fairly dry and the seasoning/sauce was too bland. The middle part of the chicken was dry and had no flavor. Also, the mashed potatoes weren’t creamy and still had the potato skin mixed in. I’m assuming that’s an intentional choice but it’s sloppier and less tasty than what I can make myself. Finally, the broccoli was also poorly prepared in my opinion; it was too soft/overcooked and had no flavor. Once again, even the simple olive-oil baked broccoli I condiment with just salt and pepper at home is better. Given the pricy menu, I expected a lot more from the entree. I understand The Keg is a steakhouse, but I don’t recommend they offer a chicken dish in the first place if it will be such a letdown. Onto dessert: I was very delighted by the $10 crème brûlée, and their famous ice cream pie was delicious as well. My simple cocktail was also great. It was primarily the actual food that was disappointing, otherwise had a nice experience.

Great service, they always check on the clients if they need something and they explain well the choices in the menu. For the food....great food, you can't regret. The only thing you could regret about old Port, it's all this orange cones, takes you double of the time to get there.

My first time coming at The Keg Old Port. Most used to the one at Rene Levesque. It was a good experience. We went for our end of year dinner. Meat was tender and the waiter did a great service from beginning to end.

My mother-in-law and her husband invited us to dinner to celebrate My Husband’s birthday. They told him to pick the restaurant of his choice. He was really craving meat, more specifically a good steak. We had been to Keg before but it was our fist time at this location in the Vieux-Montréal. We asked for a special seating due to the occasion and they gave us the perfect spot with street view. The service was very attentive and excellent. We really did appreciate the suggestions of the waiter they were right on point 👌🏽 He was kind enough to take us some nice pictures 😊 The ambiance was delightful and the food was divine 🌟 We had a fantastic time. Let me tell you he was really happy he opted for this restaurant 😁 Price was is what you’ll get in similar restaurants a little bit higher because the overall quality is also better. We highly suggest you make a reservation prior.

What a wonderful way to celebrate an anniversary , my wife and I were celebrating our 39th wedding anniversary and when we sat down we were greeted by a hostess with 2 glasses of Prosecco and wished a Happy Anniversary . Our waiter Felix was simply amazing and we had a wonderful meal ended with a great dessert which we shared . Atmosphere of Old Montreal and the restaurant you can't beat. Thank You we will definitely be back .

We ordered the steak and shrimps And the steak and lobster. It was fabulous. Everything was tasty, well cooked, we asked for medium rare steaks and they were cooked to perfection. The steaks were mouth watering as well as the seafoods. Thw waitress was so warmly welcoming and the way she served was definitely professional. Will be back for sure 😊

We went there as a big group, our waiter was the best honestly! I don’t remember his name nor is it on our receipts but he went above and beyond to make sure we were all seated at the table, gave recommendations and delivered with care! I took a New York au poivre, tasted amazing, fill of flavor and the potato was up to the expectations as well! I definitely recommend 😍 The only downside about this location is the parking availability… gotta make sure to be there at least 30 min before your reservation to find parking (on weekends)

This meal was just deliciously unreal!!! The drinks were refreshing, I’m still thinking about the crispy fried cauliflower 😍and lastly the lobster tail & steak was just perfect! Service was 10/10, would definitely come back!

Last night we went there(my and my wife)every thing was perfect but when we ordered 2 steak and ask to be medium-well both of them, after 25 minutes they bring them and unfortunately for me was completely well-done!but the taste was great and manager said sorry about it and gave us one dessert for free. I think they are professional but they should put more attention in the kitchen when the restaurant is busy. Generally they make best steak in Montreal and I can suggest them to everyone.

After Vieux-Port Steakhouse unprofessionally did not take my reservation down. Proceed to there page to read my experience. I was able to get a reservation last minute. We went and we were approached by Jimmy. Jimmy the man that is taking care of business. And took care of all are needs. He was able to get us a table outside then it started raining and he was able to get us table inside. Right away a waitress professionally took care of us from checking on us and bringing our food within 15-20 mins after our drinks. We had amazing time. Thank God Keg was next door. My baby and I came from out of town we decided to Go out for dinner. Imagine getting dress up and reservation is cancelled because someone didnt take there job serious. I will not be making any reservations to Vieux-Port Steakhouse ever again. Keg was the best choice that night.

I hope that management reads this. I have been a long time customer of The Keg. We were there yesterday and requested a table. Apparently they had close off the patio an hour ago because the forecast called for rain. However, there was no rain. Indoor dining was full and they told us they couldn’t accommodate us, while it was obvious that there was lots of room on the patio. Apparently they turned away many customers. I suspect that the employees would rather not work and still get paid. Tragic, cause many customers were turned away and some, including myself, will find alternatives to The Keg for our future business.

Asking for vaccine passports. Avoid at all costs. They are supporting unjust discrimination and segregation under the guise of medical status. Too bad keg. Was with half a dozen regular customers who will never step foot in your restaurants again.

Where should I begin the atmosphere " intimate and relaxing " or the host " Nicolas " who was super nice and helpful. Then comes the food it was superb. I had the prime rib and it was juicy and deliciously tender, cooked the right way. It's just a matter of time before I go there again hopefully soon.

06/18/23 We came here after the race on a Sunday night and well parking was impossible which made us late. If you're new to the area be sure to plan ahead and be prepared to look for free parking. Walking in you had the option on to sit at the bar/lounge or in the dining room. We opted for the dining room and we had Yoan. We started with the Baked Brie and the Garlic Cheesy Toast. The Brie was outstanding. The pesto was so flavorful and fresh and the spicy jam that is served with it was out of this world. The garlic cheesy toast is an absolute classic and the fresh garlic is really complimented on there it truly left us speechless at both appetizers. There is also fresh bread served with a savory compound butter that is at perfect temperature and was also very good. Unfortunately that's where things took a turn. We waited 35 minutes for our entrees which comes down one of three issues. They either are understaffed, the front of house sat everyone down at once or they really got held behind. Either way waiting 35 minutes for 2 steaks is inexcusable BUT! we were treated by Yoan very respectfully as well as the manager came up to us and apologized many many times and I must say the customer service really saved this for me as I will return next year for sure. They are great people there especially the manager. The ambiance is also perfect I might add even at the lounge. Moving on to entrees we had the 22oz prime rib and it is truly incredible. Especially with the red wine jus. Absolutely perfect. I had the 12oz peppercorn sirloin. Unfortunately it came blue. I don't appreciate receiving steak that was carelessly sent out by the kitchen as they knew they were behind on food. Nonetheless it was fixed and it was perfect medium rare as asked and I must say it is super flavorful and tasty. The whisky sauce is incredible on the steak and it really compliments it well. Garlic mashed potatoes was incredible and worth getting. Unfortunately I wanted to have desert but with the timing from appetizer to entree I was bloated by the end so I didn't feel like eating desert. The manager comped us on half the food we ordered which we appreciate and again I will be returning at this location despite the mistakes that had happened. I truly recommend this restaurant even though I didn't have the best of service their customer service is top notch! Garlic Cheesy Toast: 5/5 Baked Brie: 5/5 22oz Prime Rib: 5/5 Peppercorn Sirloin: 4/5 Overall: 5/5 for customer service being top notch!

Friendly service, good portions of steaks. For none steaks eaters there's nice salmon fish dish and a lobster dish which is okay and fairly expensive for 2 lightly seasoned lobster tails. The escargots was really good!

Great service here all way from the reception to servers and everyone at the bar. Lots of place inside and some outside right on St.Paul street, great for people watching. Despite it being in a tourist location both food and drinks were up to typical The Keg standards.

We sat at the bar for some dinner and drinks. We ordered a bottle of wine and started with some calamari for an appetizer. They also brought out some bread and butter. For our entrees, we ended up just sharing the bbq chicken and half rack of ribs with an added side of the mushroom rice. The calamari breading could be more crispy but the chicken was juicy and cooked perfectly. Our overall visit was great but I’m taking one star off because the service ran a bit slow.

Great experience here! Our server went above and beyond, she checked on us more than 10 times to ensure we were all taken care of every step of our night. Steaks were amazing specially the tip sirloin with lobster, and prime rib. We also order salad, escargot and the garlic cheese bread was very good. Overall extremely satisfied!

The Keg was simply awesome! From the moment I made a reservation for me and my girlfriend to the time we left it was a great experience. Sat at table, had fantastic bread with an interesting multi cheese butter that was very unique. After that, apps came out. I had the cheese bread which was fantastic 15/10. It was cheeses on a French baguette almost like a flat bread. So good. The girlfriend had the escargot, she loved it. Very unique in flavor, and totally delicious. For dinner the girlfriend had the French onion soup... Fantastic! & baked potato was out of this world. I had the steak and lobster. They were both unreal. The lobster was so juicy and fresh it tasted like they just caught it out of the northern Atlantic. For dessert we washed things down with the apple crumble, it was delicious! Fantastic service, great price, beautiful waitress, great experience. Thank you The Keg! We'll be back hopefully soon! As the girl says "it was one of our best meals" in 2 years dating. And we're foodies too!

Good steakhouse, located in the old town. Nice setting, comfortable seating. The meat (filet mignon) was excellent. The blue cheese "thing" that came with it was not. Service was ok.
