Amazing place to visit if you live in Montreal or just visiting. Old Montreal buildings and modern city activities make this place unique. Fancy restaurants, street food and fun things to do. Only 2 reasons why I gave it 4 stars is: No parking if you are not willing to pay a lot or find free spots. Overall prices for activities are way to expensive. Make sure to have at least 100$ per person to enjoy little things here and there.

September 2023 5* River front side of Montreal is beautiful as there are many activities. There is science centre building. You can enjoy food and local shopping. There is boat parking and ferry area. You can take public ferry to visit the places. Also, you can enjoy the wheel ride.

It’s always fun walking in the oldport streets, with the stone pavement and gift shops, all the restaurants and bars, street painters, locals and tourists who enjoy the neighborhood and street shows, music, dancing, and all fun stuff. You feel like you’re on vacation for a couple of hours.

I am a Montrealer. The path from my home to Old Port of Montreal is one of my favourite walking routes. Around the old port, throughout the year, no matter day or night, sunny or foggy, there are always beautiful natural hotspots and European-style urban street views to enjoy.

The port is really nice for a walk and sightseeing. There is a lot of activities for kids like the giant ferrous wheel, small train, pedal boat etc. The streets are really nice and European looking. Parking is a bit of trouble. There are a lot of restaurants where during the lunchtime can be really busy. You can find Middle Eastern, French, Italian and American speciality places here.

A must go if yoj are visiting Montréal. It resembles a historic European vibe and whole atmosphere is extremely touristic, loved it so much. So much eye catching photo spots, the streets and building are vintage. There is also a lot happening randomly, street performers are always doing something. Walk walk and walk, you are bound to love this whole place.

Excellent place to walk around with so much to see and do. The ferris wheel will give you the perfect view of the area. There is food trucks right along the water and some neat sea can shops. This is a great area to walk around as old Montreal is right there.

Best place for all kinds of activities, the ferris wheel spun us 3 times, it's heated, roomy and you can't feel a thing, so fun. The bathrooms are so clean and very modern, lots of stalls and sinks. Skating is great, fun music, heated area to lock your stuff while skating around. Great experience overall.

Nice skating rink in the winter. Crowded but beautiful at night. More expensive than we are use to (we don’t normally pay to skate as we have free options back at home) but it was worth it for this one time experience. I would do again and I would recommend it if you are looking for a unqiue winter experience in a city.

Great stroll in a beautiful city on a sunny day. Fall's crispy air, beautiful views and historic surroundings were a perfect combination for an easygoing afternoon. We enjoyed the art stands, souvenir shops and scrumptious food.

A very beautiful and lively place for a walk. Several souvenir shops and establishments to suit any taste. You can take a ride on the Ferris wheel and there's an adventure park with ropes. Near the Ferris wheel, there's a catamaran rental as well.

The Old Montreal Port is a captivating blend of history, culture, and charm. From cobblestone streets to stunning waterfront views, this area offers a delightful experience for visitors of all ages. The architecture alone is worth the visit, with beautifully preserved buildings dating back centuries. Walking along the cobblestone streets feels like stepping back in time, with each corner revealing new wonders to explore. The waterfront promenade is a highlight, offering picturesque views of the St. Lawrence River and the iconic clock tower. Whether you're strolling, biking, or simply sitting and soaking in the scenery, it's impossible not to be mesmerized by the beauty of the surroundings. The Old Montreal Port is also home to a variety of attractions, including museums, galleries, restaurants, and shops. Whether you're interested in history, art, or cuisine, there's something here for everyone to enjoy. Overall, a visit to the Old Montreal Port is a must for anyone exploring the city. It's a place where history comes alive, and every corner tells a story. Don't miss the opportunity to experience this charming and historic gem.

Its a nice place to walk around with your loved one(s). A bit crowded in places with tons of photo opportunities. If you're craving a snack while walking around you're in luck as you can find almost anything from ice cream to cotton candy. There is plenty of parking on the water for $25. The restaurants by the water have a great ambiance created by the DJ.

Must visit this place in summer if you are in Montreal.Attractions include Board walk with shops, food trucks, paddle boats, zip lining, high and low ropes course experience(tickets are available on the spot and line ups are not crazy long usually. Public parking lots are located nearby and charge max $25-$20 per day but you won’t regret it after you explore the place. The parking is cheaper in the inside streets parking lots. After exploring the old port attractions, go across the road walk around. There are more shops in the nearby allies that you don’t wanna miss. There are self-cleaning washrooms located near the old port area that look like an elevator. The washroom are free and get sanitized automatically after each use.

A bit chilly next to the water with seagull's frying around only think we concern was we don't want to get bird bomb :D I got tons of picture and its worth walking.

Looking for a nice place to hang out after work or a small picnic spot? Old port is the perfect place! It's a pretty scenic place with lots of fun activities to do like zip lining and the Ferris wheel. You have the churros, the ice cream, the popcorn and many other stuff to try.. the local markets have some unique things to buy! came with my friend here and we spent almost an entire day enjoying this place!

The Old Port of Montreal, known as Vieux Port, is a must-visit destination. It offers a charming atmosphere, historic landmarks, and a range of activities. You can enjoy leisurely walks, boat tours, and delicious food. It's easily accessible and hosts festivals and events throughout the year. Overall, it's a captivating place with something for everyone.

Good place for boat escapades, grande roue, food trucks, cirque du soleil, zip line, TELUS imax, walking on the boardwalk.. Great restaurants in Old Port like Terrasse William Grey or Bordel, or you can dine at a more resonable price in any restaurants situated in place, Jacques Cartier. (Allow at least 2 hours of commute or restaurants dining on fireworks nights) There are also bike paths, pédaleau & bike rentals, and lots of souvenir shops... My only critique would be the traffic and especially the expensive parking!!! 35$ is wayyyyyy too expensive, especially when you spend 140$ on bateau-mouche experience for 1 person dinner ... Lastly, like always, there are constructions everywhere 🚧 🙄 😒 ... Montréal is like that, and I believe it refrains from tourists from visiting us or from having a good experience !

It's not difficult to see why the Vieux-Port or the Old Port of Montreal is a crowd favorite. It's one of the most successful conversion of what was an industrial waterfront into a playground for all. Visit at any time of the year for guaranteed fun. The views towards the city are spectacular, especially from the port's elevated walkways. In my opinion, watching the sunset from one of them is one of the most memorable views that Montreal offers.

  • 4/5 Elio Di M. 3 years ago on Google
Visiting The Old Port of Montreal is a MUST. I suggest picking up a bite to eat and visiting close to sundown, when the views are at their best! This location is also beautifully illuminated at night! A simple walk in this area can make for a great day-trip but there are several activities available such as Zip-Lining (20$), skating, and taking a ride on the Ferris-wheel (20-25$) which can potentially make this trip a little pricey! Finding parking on the street can also be a challenge so expect to pay around 20-25$!

Although the tourism industry is suffering a great deal during this Pandemic, the locals are appreciating these unusual moments of calm. The wintery colorful scene shines through without distraction. This is such a rare moment...take it in before things get back to normal.

I love the old port. It's by far the most beautiful neighborhood in Montreal. It has the some of the best restaurants, cafés, and bars in the city...and even the country. Lots of activities, and things to do, both for tourists and locals! I've lived in the area for over 6 years and I never get tired of walking around and enjoying the sites and beautiful architecture. 💕

Old port area is welcoming and refreshing. Good place for strolls and walks. Most food trucks were closed but juice shop, churros, ice cream parlor were open. There is a bridge going to the river view as well. There is a Zipline option for enthusiasts and a La Grande wheel giving a view of the city around it. Staff was friendly. Covid protocols were followed including checking the vaccination passport/IDs. There are small shops as well for jewelry, tshirts, Heena tattoos. Next to the area is the food lovers hotspot with plenty of options to choose from.

I didn't know this place exists but I remember I think I lost my way the first time I tried to find this place then I overlooked on it to visit this place until my friend who is a local insisted to go. No regrets. I was here in Sept 2019. Wow guys! This place looks extremely boundless. Especially that view of the St.Lawrence River. Most of the stalls are already closed. I casually walked around here and took pictures of this view of the Le Grand Roue de Montreal observation wheel and the river while observing people in this cool fresh air.

  • 5/5 Jason M. 2 years ago on Google
A great way to spend the day! Cobblestone streets, plenty of shops to browse for treats, souvenirs or essentials (umbrella, sweater, maple syrop - yes that’s an essential!). Ride above everyone on a zip line for $20. Cross the walking bridge to the big wheel aka La grande Roue ($70 for a family of 4) or rent a paddle boat. Otherwise you can simply grab a cold drink, put on your sun glasses and check out the vendors along the waterfront!

An iconic part of town, a must visit if you are coming to Montreal, we didn't eat during visit but expect same quality and pricing for any downtown restaurants, many restaurantshave their menus outside to make it easy, both English and French. Recommend you plan your visit there things for both kids and adults. The sky wheel adds an extra view of the town but at 30$ adults can be much. Parking in the area is moderate about 22$ for all day. Great shops and walking path to get that perfect euro style pictures. A gem away from euro and a piece of Canadian french heritage. There are other things to do in Montréal this is just one of the many things you can do. Enjoy.

Enjoyed a walk along the Vieux-Port (Old Port) de Montréal riverfront during a visit to Montréal in early May 2023. A lively area with green space, a trail/promenade and activities both locals and tourists to enjoy. There are many historical landmarks along the riverfront. I love coming to the Old Port. There is always something to do. What I hate is big crowds. Guess what? Best time to come to Old Port is when it's raining. I visit the Old Port Tower. It's a must do. If you are not afraid of heights, do it!!

It is a nice port , and waterfront area, we got out early in the morning and that's when we were able to capture these pictures. Later in the day it is extremely busy. Lots of people, many on bikes so at times it was a bit chaotic trying to maneuver around all the walkways and roads when walking around the old Montreal area. I was surprised that most of the roads are open to vehicles which made it hectic when you weren't sure when to cross in the old historic areas.

One of the best tourist attraction in Montreal and a must visit for any tourist and even for the local. A historical site filled with activities such as the Zipline, SOS labyrinth, the giant Ferris Wheel, the Cirque du Soleil, the Montreal Science Centre, tons of local shops and more. The Notre-Dame Basilica is quite impressive with its magnificent stained glasses and Gothic look. It's worth a walk even during winter with its public skating rink. It's the best location for an amazing view during the International des Feux Loto-Québec. The place is literally filled with amazing coffee shops and unforgivable fine dining restaurants. Bottom line, the Montreal's Old Port is majestic, historical, festive and cheerful.

Visited this place on a rainy day. A lovely place with a number of food options and activities around. Rode the La Grande Roue de Montréal, which is the highest observation wheel in Canada. It is a 20 minute ride and costs 30CAD for one adult. Overall a lovely experience.

Nice place for a walk. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR. It is crowded. Parking is 35 dollars minimum. There are plenty of restaurants, terrases, museums, art galleries, etc. Make sure you bring comfortable shoes.

Went in Vieux-Port de Montréal with friends. Near midnight we tried the grande-roue. View is amazing, a little pricey for a $30+ ticket. Well, everything is pricey today. It is what it is. For newcomers, worth the price. For people living around Montréal, it's okay I guess, but not worth it if you already tried.

Enjoyed this place. There are a lot of activities in this area. You can do zip lining, you can participate in a treasure hunt activity, etc. There's also quite a few food trucks that serve a wide range of food, deserts, and drinks. The view is magnificent and breathtaking.

Rue Saint Paul, This place was the most exciting part of the tour. The European atmosphere, historical and vintage structures, art galleries, markets, food joints, patios and so much stuff to look around. Loved hanging around this place. The Port Vieux was also the best to hang around in the evenings. Old Montreal is the best tourist spot.
