Great local farmers market that is fun to walk through with many little shops/vendors to explore and to buy great quality foods. Everything is fresh. There are seating areas to sit and enjoy the foods that you purchased. So much fun to explore and to spend a few hours in this place. All of it except for the plant area is undercover.

You can find many fresh fruits, seafood and meats, or great flower. Even tho the prices are a bit higher but they really have great quality than in the supermarket. And when you walked tired, there is a pizza place, such I place and a bakery.

Nice farmers market selling fresh fruits and vegetables. They also have butcher shop, bakery and cheese shop in the market. We also enjoyed some gelato in the hot weather. Theres a food court that offers variety of things. Overall great experience.

We were visiting Montreal for 4 nights in October. Took a trip to Atwater on a late Friday morning for a local and laidback vibe and in search of specialties for ourselves and gifts to bring back home to NYC. Such a lovely marketplace filled with fresh fruits and veggies, butchers, cheeses, baked goods, jams and jellies, syrup, honey, flowers, pumpkins, spices, and much more. The free 90-minute parking lot was so convenient. The highlight for me was eating the delicious apples we picked up from the market earlier while walk along the canals nearby. It was a great day.

Excellent downtown market with very fresh produce cheese pastry and all sort of things. It's too bad that not all tourists are aware of this market as establishment like this one are not available in many many North American cities. This is very compatible to the St Lawrence market in Toronto on slightly smaller scale.

I love this place! Amazing choices. Very friendly vibe. The large store at the entrance selling all spices, syrups, bitters, vinegars, oils etc you can imagine. Pizza place is the best!!!

Nice farmer’s market in Montreal! There are a lot of vendors selling fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, cheese and so many others! The prices were good given the high quality of the products. The market is also located next to a river so it was relaxing to be able to stroll around outside. Onsite parking also available

Year round open farmer's market offering fresh produce, breads and other local specialties. Indoor shops include those offering gourmet local Quebecois foods, such as wine, vinegars and oils, honey and other delicacies. Several options for a meal as well. Easy to park on local streets during visit.

This is our local farmers market but so much more is the Atwater Market. We love this place, it’s amazing. We have our favourite merchants and still have more to discover in the small but quality market. Set alongside the Lachine canal with all the hip shots close by as well. I will keeps updating photos and upgrade my review in the near future.

It’s a lovely market and I really recommend visit during summer because it will be much more vivid. Besides I strongly recommend the yogurt in a cheese store. So much flavor and yogurt itself is iconic!

🥖My first time visiting Marche Atwater, it’s clean and tidy! Love the small restaurant outside the market. Good vibes and have lots of seating outside. Highly recommend if you are looking for fresh vegetables, great steak, good pasta and garden flowers! 🧡🌸🪴

Today I visited the bakery inside the market and the atmosphere in general is very pleasant. just that the staff has a horrible attitude, they looked at us in a very rude way and made us feel bad .

Yet another gem in Montreal's Saint Henri neighborhood, steps from Lionel-Groulx subway stop and right on Lachine Canal, this all year farmers market on different end of the city is bountiful of fresh food, produce, meats, cheeses, pastries, pastas and all you need for a great meal. Loved it, also loved the benches right behind at the canal to savour some of the great food available outside the market at one of the foodtruck booths.

Smaller than jean Talon. Same lovely fresh foods flowers and shops in center to purchase sumptuous foods. Bought best eclair framboise ever! Tried some food stalls which were bustling and excellent. Too many bees 🐝 all over to enjoy for me. Ate a few bites and ran.

One of the nice outdoor farmer's markets in Montreal, with many restaurants and specialty food shops. I bought a little cactus plant at the nursery across the street. Take a stroll over the canal while there.

Adorable neighbourhood farmers market. Especially in the summer, with awesome outdoor booths. Perfect place for groceries, date and family gathering. Fresh cheese, flowers, corn and other seasonable products are all available at Atwater. Outdoor pumpkin sale during the autumn too.

Great selection of produce, local goods, and food stalls. It can get quite crowded if you go on a weekend, so I’d recommend wearing a mask when you’re outdoors as a precaution.

Pretty, varied, aromatic... BUT SO EXPENSIVE! Prepare to salivate but leave frustrated. It would seems that reviewers have all been to the same place alright... but also on the same budget! Yes, you can find almost anything, from staples to curiosities/ imports, rare meats, poultry and seafood/fish (prepared in delicious ethnically diverse ways): there is A LOT, and quality, at hand. Which is all good and well is you need to buy a GIFT, but if it's groceries you're going for, beware! Apart from local farmers offering fresher produce than the supermarket at decent prices, if you are mid to lower income, you're in for a surprise! An advice is, leave that credit card at home and bring a cash amount you're comfortable with. And if something tickles your fancy but goes over budget, you can always go back: we always need fresh items, right? Allows for time to think if you really need/can afford that extra item. Because they say "our eyes can be bigger than our stomach", but in this case, "bigger than your wallet" fits even better. If you wonder why this place almost gets all 5 stars... it's really in the eye of the "purse holder", I think.

A lot of merchants under the same roof. You can buy freshly homemade pies, all kind of flowers and herbs shops during the summer. Maple syrup products from differents stalls. A Premiere Moisson bakery shop with places to sit down to eat a good fresh pastry out of the oven or a tasty sandwhich. There's also a very good pizzeria right in the middle of the market. There's a good amount of shops like: the cheese shops, fishmongers and numerous artisanal butcher's shops. It's not as big as the Jean Talon market, but there's many food stalls you can find at the end of the market with picnic table to sit down. An excellent way to end your visit at one of the best public market in Montreal.

Beautiful market full of interesting foods. The maple syrup is reasonable. Wish I could have bought more things, but going back to Ottawa. A good selection of cheese, meats, maple syrup and honey. There is a chocolatier there that make small disks of chocolate with a thin layer of maple syrup...to die for. Enjoy!

One of the coolest markets I’ve been to and something Montreal is and should be proud of. So many vendors inside and out with amazing products. It’s a very high end area and it’s amazing but the prices seem very affordable for most things. Highly recommend stopping by here for groceries or even just a cafe!

One of the best places to have breakfast, go for a walk and get fresh, yummy fruit. The croissant framboise was very unique, different and delicious some of the grilled cheeses have spring mix spinach and almonds which give them a nice twist, the brioche bread is just exquisite! and if you are looking for soup to go, try the mushroom and bacon or the squash one, both are absolutely delicious. The bakery get pretty busy on Saturday morning, there's free parking and bathrooms in the premises.

Nice place to buy some original vegetable, fruits and meat! People are friendly and you can enjoy with some other shop who sell some french fries, cocktails, etc.

I had a great time at this location! Good variety of markets, and a very cold indoor area that was nice for a warm day to check out other vendors. Unlike Jean Talon, this market had more options for cooked meals which was appreciated. There was a vendor doing Pad Thai that turned out excellent. I wish I could remember the name of the place because the server and the quality of the food was wonderful. It's at an area at the end of the market that's outdoors and has a tented area for people to eat meals. The lady who waited on us was very pleasant and the cooks immediately greeted us when we came up to order which was nice.

Marche Atwater is a pretty decent market to buy fresh produce, breads, cheese & meat. The prices are great and the vendors accept card payments on minimum spend. The only downside in my point of view is that I couldn't find eggs here but otherwise it's an absolutely great place to stock up for the week. It's easily accessible by public transport too - approx 6mins of walk from the Lionel Groulx metro station.
