Nice square to sit and listen to music year round with views of Notre Dame Cathédral. Be careful of pickpockets. In general, relaxed atmosphere with tourists and workers passing through, reading a book, eating a snack, etc.

Such a lively area. With cobblestone ground work and beautiful old atmosphere with a fountain in the centre. Buskers may be found here.

Beautiful monument in a busy and popular area. The monument is located in parkland directly between the monumental Bank of Montreal and the Notre Dame Basilica of Montreal. In addition to the design of the church (outside vs inside), the French-English love-hate relationship is also discussed in two other statues.

Simple and effective square in front of the Notre Dame Basilica - acts as a great meeting place or place to sit (benches under trees and often musicians)

If you want to see the best historical sights in Montréal from one spot, Place d'Armes is the place to be. Surrounded by the important buildings built in different styles over a long period of time, and graced by the twin towers of Basilique Notre-Dame de Montréal, this lovely square is the focal point of the city. And right in the centre stood the Maisonneuve Monument, commemorating Paul Chomedey de Maisonneuve, the founder of Montréal. At the foot of the monument, four more noticeable persons or race from Montréal are celebrated: Charles Le Moyne, Lambert Closse, Jeanne Mance and Iroquois.

The Monument to Montreal's First Governor at Weapons Square is flanked by old buildings. To the south, the Notre Damme basilica from the 19th century and the National Bank building, and to the north, the Hotel and the Bank of Montreal. The monument is visited by many tourists, and the square itself is also interesting. In summer, various cultural events are organized here, we will hear speeches from people of different political options, or the sounds of a guitar. Thus, the square has its own charm and history.
