You can enjoy some stunning views from this wheel. Definitely worth to take, although quite pricey and stops quite frequently to take other passengers in. Otherwise cabins are very comfortable, air conditioned

Beautiful views. Great experience. It is a must do if you are first time in Montreal or never been here before. It is quite pricey if you with tou whole family. Line is pretty long, so it might take 20 minutes to get in. We did 3 rounds. Kids were happy.

Really cool experience on this thing. The views were absolutely amazing, and we ended up getting fireworks through our second and third spins. Really enjoyed the ride and would definitely recommend to those who are in the area. The tickets were a bit pricey, and the AC was “broken” so we couldn’t get the fan to turn off after we got into the car. This made for a pretty loud ride.

We had the best time, great views of the city and a gondola all to ourselves. Just silly fun but perfect, the line wasn't bad and the whole port area was lit up for the holidays and just a perfect way to kick off the evening.

Absolutely beautiful. The colors spinning give you a hypnotizing feeling. I love it especially during freezing weather because you can see the Ferris wheel reflection on the ice. It’s a landmark in Montreal so it’s a must see if you are visiting. The street level view is fabulous. It doesn’t make it to 5 stars because it isn’t always available to ride, when it is it is a bit expensive. Parking is complicated around old port so plan ahead of time if you’d like to visit it. And the experience could be nicer if the skies are clear so you can see the whole city. Bunch of dinning options around, great place to explore on foot. La Grande Roue de Montréal is an absolute must-visit attraction that offers an unforgettable experience in the heart of the city. To truly appreciate its magical ambiance, I highly recommend going after 9pm. As the sun sets and the city lights begin to twinkle, the Ferris wheel takes on a whole new level of enchantment. The panoramic views of Montreal's skyline, especially at night, are breathtakingly beautiful. The illuminated landmarks and shimmering St. Lawrence River create a captivating backdrop for a romantic evening or a memorable outing with friends and family. The queues are usually shorter during this time, allowing for a more leisurely and immersive experience. La Grande Roue de Montréal after 9pm guarantees an enchanting and mesmerizing journey that will leave you with cherished memories.

Very nice experience. Even though it is somewhat expensive, the whole experience lasts around 15 minutes. You get 3 turns in total, which gives you plenty of time to soak in the entire view. We were lucky to go there during sunset and got the sunny day followed by the sunset view.

Stable ferris wheel that goes around 3 times for $30. I like the temperature control inside. I went during the day but I think it might be better to go at night.

Excellent value for the money and the view from the top is breathtaking! We came here on a Friday at 5 p.m. Only a few people were waiting in line to purchase tickets, and we could get our tickets and breeze right through the entrance without waiting. We go around in circles three times, and it has air conditioning, which is a huge benefit given how hot it was that day. Good enough to allow you to savor the present moment!

The views of the downtown were pretty good, the views on the other side were not that great. However, the ride is worth the price and we were able to stay on it for a decent amount of time. I liked the fact that every group/family was given their own pods.

Best time to ride is just before sunset.. you get to see the city in sun light and during sunset with the city lights.. the best of all together .. why do to spend 2 tickets to see it during the day and night while u can do so just at the perfect moment

Remarkable experience the night was the best for me. The colours the view of Montreal at night was magical. The cabin is air-conditioned and heated if needed. You are protected from the weather so great anytime to visit. The heights you go you just dont realize how high, but adjust quickly when you look outside. Near and far the sky is a glow at every angle.loved every minute.

Great view of the city at night. We got to go around 3 times which, at approximately $27/ticket I appreciate. 2 people per cabin. Closed concept. Temperature controls in the cabin. Great time. However, the cabins and seats were not cleaned between guests and I would worry about this considering we are in a pandemic.

Beautiful way of spending a few minutes of your day. You can enjoy a lovely view of the old city and the waterfront. It's s bit pricey, but they do some discounts, like for seniors. We had a lot of fun. Recommended!

September 2023 5* Visited the place with my little one. They had enjoyed Ferris Wheel at Niagara Falls but Montreal is very different as you can enjoy the city on one side and St. Lawrence river on other side. You can already see some fall colours but October should be better. You can take the full cabin if you are family of 4-6 members. On Friday, the staff were allowing couple also in the single cabin. In one ticket, you cover around 4-5 rounds and can enjoy the view. Seats are comfortable and cabin is spacious. Night time will offer different view but both views are amazing.

Good way to see Montreal- looking down - on cold days -20C it has heaters and I believe in the summer it runs AC. It’s probably amazing for a sunset

Went during Christmas time. The line was not long. Ice-skating outside was lively. The view was very beautiful. Convenient coffee shops, right outside, with pastries, and other light meals you can buy. Included some videos took during the ride. We decided To walk around after the ride and it was also very nice . Water front view was very nice even during winter time. It was a different sight to see with a partial of water is frozen.

Worth the money for the views and ride. not only did we go once around but a couple times and opposite sides. We went during the week and there wasn’t much of a line up, the wait was rarely quickly. The price was also Reasonable. Highly suggest going

Absolutely love this ride. The view from both sides of the gondola cabin is mesmerizing and breathtaking. Especially at sunset, the sky painted with beautiful colors and the view left you speechless. we visited on a rainy day, so it was more of a romantic experience for us in the air for 30 minutes, as we were only a few visitors on that day and most cabins were empty so it's 1/2 persons they put on each cabin. Basically each cabin has been designed to carry 8 passengers at a time. You can control the temperature inside the cabin as well as the volume of music as per your convenience. End your ride with a hot cup of chocolate at the cafe next to the exit gate.

Amazing experience !! You get Stunning views of Montreal. Visited there on a weekday, no queues no waiting. The cars are so comfortable. You get 3 turns, it moves slow, giving you enough time to take pictures, videos. Tickets are also reasonable. Highly recommended when you are in Montreal. Kids super liked it ❤️🥳

A must visit place when in Montreal. Especially at night, the place is filled with people and food trucks. It’s a fun place to bring the whole family. For tourists, it’s place for Instagram picture taken to show to your friends and family back home. Along the river bank, there are many bike rental racks where you can just rent a bike for a small cost and ride along the the bike path to see all the beautiful night scenes of Montreal. Additionally, there are many restaurants around this area too if you don’t like the trunk foods. There are all ethnic foods including French, Greek, Asian and Mediterranean. In the morning, you can get some good croissants and pastries in Old Montreal just couple blocks from here. We had good breakfast here.

Very nice experience. I payed for the vip cabin, it’s a 4-seat cabin with temperature control and glass floor. I recommend to make online reservation so you can watch the sunset around 7 pm. Great views of the city.

It goes 3 rounds which gives you plenty of time taking pictures or enjoy the view. I was trying to catch the sunset but unfortunately the ticket office was too slow - only one window open for nearly 20-people-lineup . Buying tickets online could be a fast way to get in, but MTL passport holders have to go to ticket office.

The Grand Wheel is a great way to get up high and see the city from above. The position along the water gives a great view of beautiful Montreal buildings and also Gilles Villeneuve circuit. Worth the money as it’s quite a long ride as well

Loved this place. Best place for pictures and nonetheless for amusement. My family and I loved it so much that we kept snapping pictures for a long time at all angles. Loved the view of the bridge and river. Nice place to see people doing the zip line adventures too

Great attraction! Be sure to buy your tickets online as the line to purchase tickets will get long throughout the night. There are no reserved timings, but the line does move fairly quickly. The view on top is breathtaking! There were about 2-3 revolutions which is nice to take in different sights each time.

Great view of the city. The wheel covers 3 rotations which gives ample to enjoy the view and snap some pictures/videos in an air-conditioned booth. Pricey for a 10-15 min ride though!

I visited on 3/21/23. It’s a great view of the city and river. Not much happening on the ground due to it being cold still but it looks like it has a lot of fun shops which open in warmer weather. Ticket was 30.00 per person, you go around three times, ~20 minutes. Lots of room and they are temperature controlled.

Fairies wheel in Montreal isn't bad. Would be nice if the weather is better. I don't know how many rounds we were in the wheel at least 3 rounds. The cabin can take 5-6 people but we are 3 so has more room. Even the faires wheel looks very high from far but when we were actually on the top we still feel it wasn't that tall. We love the experience anyway.

So cool to have a huge view of all of Montreal. $25/person. Great views. You can see the various buildings and churches. No better place to see the town. Probably even cooler at night. I guess we will just have to do it twice a day! Ice skating during the winter.

Yes. This is definitely a must try experience when visiting the old port of Montreal. At 60m high, you’ll have an expansive and amazing view of the city and the river. The cabins were clean and have climate control which is a great plus. You can also manually control the temperature settings to your preference. The staff were helpful. Let me say though it is not cheap but it is totally worth it.

After doing this in the dark I would recommend visiting during daylight. It's still pretty at night though. It actually seems like you get quite a while up there. I have visited similar experiences in other cities and it went by quickly but this felt like a good amount of time to have a look around.

A very memorable activity that is accessible to all. 360 degree views of Montreal. The best part was that when we first got on, we thought it would be only one time around. However, as we approached the bottom, we went around again, then a third time, giving us lots of time to take pictures from all angles. Climate controlled to make it comfortable. Team was very friendly to guide us during the experience. Well worth it!

I picked a not great day to be there, so keep that in mind, however it was the only free day I had for sightseeing. I got the VIP ticket, for the upgraded seats, which were very comfortable. However it was quite a walk for me from where the Uber dropped me off at the gates. I have limited mobility, so for most people this will be a non issue. It isn't really that far, but for me it was long and painful, and the weather did not help. The gondola was very cold, as it blew cold air at maximum speed, so that made it even colder. There was no sound in the gondola explaining what I was looking at, but that was fine. Overall, I think if I had been there on a nice day, and not had such a hard time walking, it would have been lovely.

So beautiful at night. Parking was the same as the cost to ride the Ferris wheel. Zip lining was cheaper. Stores were costly too. Typical of tourist spots but the energy was exciting and the views were gorgeous.

We didn't have to wait a line. The ride goes 3 rounds, and does not take that long. It was a great opportunity to see the river and the city view. It is a bit expensive for the time that you spend there though.

  • 4/5 Liane V. 5 months ago on Google
Really nice to go on a weekday when there's no lines and you can have an entire car to yourself haha. It was just under $30 for maybe 20 minutes? We did three whole rotations so you can really take a good look at every side.

  • 5/5 Miranda B. 2 months ago on Google • 21 reviews New
Overpriced in my opinion but definitely worth doing at least once. The views are amazing (I went at night but I’m sure it’s great during the day as well) and the cars are really comfortable. If there’s not a long line you should be able to get a private car with whoever you’re with (there’s 8 seats in each one I believe). The wheel does at least 3 turns so you have plenty of time to enjoy the view - it’s not one of those super quick Ferris wheel rides.

  • 5/5 Anahi F. 5 months ago on Google
I got to ride it by purchasing the MTL passport ticket, it was a nice experience and the ride is longer than I expected. You have a very nice view from the port and the city, recommend if you are going with your family or a date.

Such a fun time with the family visiting this lovely attraction. Going on the giant wheel offered amazing views and a one of a kind experience that I am very glad we got while visiting Montreal. The weather was perfect in late June and the scenery was gorgeous.

Great view of Montreal. Little pricy but would definitely recommend it. I would probably do it in the evening next time You can now have your own cabin so even more enjoyable when you don't have to share with strangers. We would definitely go back.

Such a neat and relaxing place to visit. I feel like I am back in the US again. The customers speaks English. Buy your e-ticket online to avoid the line. There will be no dates to reserve and pull a Karen. Go before the expiration date of when the ticket is purchased. Tickets for individual is about $30CAD for three rounds of the ferris loop.

  • 4/5 Satish Kumar T. 8 months ago on Google
Not very great as the hype.. But it's fine, an experience of its kind. Maybe the pricing can be reduced, I saw many of the cabins were empty. So I think by reducing the price more people will visit.

La Grande Roue de Montréal is an absolute must-visit attraction for anyone seeking awe-inspiring views and a unique perspective of this beautiful city. From the moment I stepped foot into the gondola, I knew I was in for an unforgettable experience. The height and slow rotation of La Grande Roue allowed me to soak in the beauty of the city from various angles, providing ample time to appreciate the intricacies of its design and the dynamic blend of modernity and history. The contrast between the bustling city streets and the serene river flowing nearby created a captivating visual contrast that showcased the diversity and charm of Montreal. I highly recommend a visit to La Grande Roue de Montréal to anyone looking to witness the city's beauty from new heights. Whether you're a local resident or a visitor exploring Montreal, the mesmerizing views and the sense of wonder you'll experience aboard this Ferris wheel are simply unparalleled. Prepare to be amazed, captivated, and inspired as you ascend to new heights and witness the vibrant tapestry of Montreal unfolding beneath you. La Grande Roue de Montréal guarantees an extraordinary experience that will leave you with cherished memories and a newfound appreciation for this remarkable city.

I wouldn't recommend going to this place at night as it doesn't offer much to see or do. However, you can easily locate the j'mtl sign nearby, which can serve as a landmark. While there was a small queue to purchase tickets, the real challenge was dealing with the crowd to get on the ferris wheel. If you're looking for a more enjoyable visit, I would suggest going during the day

  • 5/5 Alicia A. 10 months ago on Google
Worth a visit. You go around 3 times, making it easy to look in every direction. Each party/group was placed in their own gondola, which had temperature controls inside to keep us comfortable. You can see a lot on a clear day.

This place is awesome. Nice place to walk around in the evening. There are tons of food trucks and other types of vendors. And of course, the big ferris wheel (which is always fun). Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Worth the money! The views are nice whether it is downtown side or the water side. We visited in Wed evening and there was no line. There were just 2 of us in the pod that accommodates 8 and we got 3 revolutions. Plenty of time to enjoy all possible views and take some cool photos! 📸

Amazing view of the city for the famous landmarks. I didn’t find it worth the cost though and the windows weren’t glare proof and clean. Could be due to Covid19 But overall views were clear and amazing. Smooth ticket lines and they group you well taking your choices into consideration. Highly recommend it.

Great views of the city and over looking the ice skating rink in winter. Six or eight people can fit in one car, and you can count on three or four rotations. It takes about 20 min. I was there in the winter and there was no wait. In the nicer weather it us more popular and long lines may develop. There is street parking that is free for one hour or lot parking for a fee. When you exit, you'll go through a gift shop/Cafe. The best hot chocolate is here.

Goes without saying, " a must vist place". Situated very close to Old Montreal Port one should include this in their bucket list. Very nice view of the city scape specially on bright sunny day but can lit up your mood by its 360 view at any time. I will try to visit once again at night time...🤔
