The greenhouse section of the botanical garden is amazing. There different sections inside the greenhouse with different type of plant. Very well done.

Montreal espace pour la vie (Space for Life) is a trio consisting of the Montreal Botanical Garden, the Insectarium and the BioDome. I have visited all the three and they are amazing. I am not fond of seeing the insects, so I could have skipped that but the Botanical garden and the Biodome are just awesome. Biodome is a unique experience in which one can see all different climates, the Tundra, the Tropical, the Rainforest and animals living in these climates. It's enjoyable for all ages. The garden is huge and very beautiful too. Great work by the Space for Life creators and the team.

Absolutely appalling. Far too many birds are crammed into tiny, bare cages. Most have no toys and only dowel perches, which are bad for their feet. As far as I can tell, the budgies are kept on a seed-only diet, which is terrible for their health. And many of the bird supplies (toys, food, cages) for sale were outright bad for birds. The owners clearly don't know or care about birds and should be ashamed of themselves.

For those with an interest in nature, this complex has three different offerings. I have been to two of them and found them both great. The botanical gardens are enjoyable even for people who do not have a big interest in flowers. The centerpiece is a Chinese pavilion that is truly beautiful and there are lots of peaceful places to wander and enjoy a leisurely walk. In the autumn, there is a lantern festival in the evenings that is really nice. There are usually Chinese lantern sculptures as well as installations that feature timed lighting effects and music. The biodome is fantastic for anybody who wants to see animals. It recreates three ecosystems and allows you to see a variety of animals in a simulation of their natural environment. The penguins are a big crowd-pleaser. The recreation of our region's environment includes some otters who are frequently playing and fun to watch.

I spent 5 solid hours at the Botanical Garden during a perfect weather day and still did not finish. It is a magical place with an open and willing staff to answer questions. The pictures speak for themselves. I will definitely return on my next trip to Montreal.

We visited the indoor portion - absolutely beautiful. My son has a hard time with over sensory activities; but this was perfect. We all enjoyed the different sections and the plants were amazing.

It was incredible. So many beautiful and strange plants, colorful flowers. Bravo to the people who take care of the gardens. And the Bonsai trees were amazing! I will definitely come back April or May to see the blossoms.

Can’t even think of the right words to describe how beautiful my experience was here! My boyfriend and I came here on a whim, as I always enjoy checking out nurseries and plant shops when traveling. SO happy we came in! Only a portion of the museum was closed off due to weather/temperature, but we were still able to go in most of the greenhouses. Pictures do not even do this place justice. You can see the care and knowledge that goes in to each of these greenhouses and all of the plants in them. I will definitely be visiting again next time I am in Canada.

If I could rate this guys a cero I would, horrible service, staff just unfriendly, totally rude, I understand that somedays are hard than others but wow! You guys need some therapy, if you are not into plants don’t even bother, and if you are a tourist they will kick you out for taking pictures, yes! You are not allowed to take pictures even if there is not any sign about that anywhere, specially a guy called Eric, stay away from him, a complete unpleasant person

8 rooms featuring a unique ecology + 1 special surprise room (which changes every so often). Each room is very well laid out, and the plants all seem to be very well taken care of. Plus the special room is interactive. Very inspiring and fun place to visit!

Beautiful place. Somewhat disappointing. There was a picture of this beautiful female statue similar to the one at Lake Eola in Orlando. When we got there, we were directed towards the garden. Once we oooh'ed and awe'd we asked for the exhibit that we came to see. We were told that the statue has not been there for 10 years. No money back. We left feeling disappointed.

Came in to get puppy food, as I work close to the area. Unfortunately, they only had one type (one company). But the responding staff, a gentleman, was very kind and helpful. I wish they had 1 or 2 more varieties as to dog/puppy food.

They sold me sick fishes. They were sick since the day I bought them. I saw it. One with red spots et one with rotten fins at a severe state. All my other fishes are fine!I I even have babys. I sent pictures. They didn't want to do anything for me when I complained. Very dishonest!!! Look at the fish in the tank. They are sick!!!

(Translated by Google) FALSE: Cross-country skiing enthusiasts, the Montreal Botanical Garden offers you a circuit of three kilometers of groomed trails, on which you can practice your favorite winter sport! From sunrise to sunset, set off on the snow-covered paths that cross the Arboretum. For an extended circuit, the trails communicate with those of Maisonneuve Park. In reality, the tracks are icy, dangerous in short, not maintained as I noticed this morning January 19; the garden seriously fails in its mission to promote its attendance and yet patrollers in polluting cars at great cost to walk the paths but never a ski patroller there are even branches on the slopes. Sad to see so much neglect and contempt for Montrealers.

Nice garden, but what google shows as images (the figures made from plants) was only a temporary exhibition which is not in Montreal anymore. Had I known this, I wouldn't have paid 22 dollars for a botanical garden which differs very little from others

The website isn't super clear about the fact that everything is pretty well closed. Showed up was told by someone who works there to walk around the building the wrong way. Then was told by someone else that basically everything was closed then arrive at the one thing open wait in like for 30 min in the sun to find out that you pay extra for the night show (we arrive at 12 ) we aren't planning on staying for the night show, but have to pay for it anyway. Left because who wants to pay extra for something they aren't going to. Pay $20 for parking ... Didn't do anything there. If this had been better advertised this might not have happened. Just a warning to call ahead and plan accordingly.

  • 3/5 Rebecca T. 4 years ago on Google
They have some great shows/movies but I expected them to be longer for the price. Both the ones I saw were only roughly 20 minutes. Not a lot of activities or exhibits but I think part of it is currently (late 2019) under construction. If you can get a combo deal then I would say it's worth it.

Don't bother buying a passport. Any interesting shows, like Pink Floyd The Dark Side of the Moon will sell out in under an hour and then you have an expensive package that is pretty worthless.

Resident in the Montreal Botanic Garden, the museum is a one block walk from a metro stop making for easy access via public transportation. Like the garden, the museum is spacious and quiet although the quietness might've had something to do with the time of year of our visit. Nevertheless, our visit was pleasant and calming on a bright, crisp, sunny day.
