Visited the Biodome for the first time and it was a fantastic experience. It was such a great time looking at different animals. They are so adorable. The space is very well structured and there is a lot of walking involved so be prepared. Some sections are way hotter as the temperatures are maintained such for the animals. So its a challenge to walk around with heavy winter jackets. My most favourite were the Penguins & Otters! A must-visit with family & friends!

This place is perfect for families with kids. The animals are amazing, the territory is clean, well maintained, and organized. You get a special brochure with the description of the animals in each section. The building is not too big for the kids to get tired. The nice bonus was the cafeteria. There are tables where you can eat your own food. There are even microwaves that can be used by the visitors. This place is really kids and family friendly! Make sure you buy the tickets in advance.

It’s one of the best experiences in Montreal I’ve ever had! It’s totally a fun time with friends. Looking at the structure of the Biodome from the outside in the maps, that aerial shot gave us goosebumps to visit at any cost. It had like four sectors inside, one is tropical, arctic, water & regional I guess. Everything is interconnected. Charge is 25$ I guess. Parking is not inclusive, you have to take a parking spot somewhere in the stadium and park there, parking would be another 25$. So, yes you can have fun if you are into animals. Stadium access is not available for us as it’s under renovation. But overall it’s a one time visit and good experience. Have fun.

Amazing experience. Lots to see and totally worth it. We loved the penguins the most and went at feeding time which was interesting to see. The Lynx and otters were close seconds. The app didn’t seem to do much for me and wasn’t worth the download unless you want to learn more about the animals. I was very hot throughout most of the visit, unclear if because of temps inside for the animals or because there were a lot of people, or both. Would recommend dressing light. I liked how open it was.

Montreal Biodome is one of the greatest legacies of the complicated Olympic Games of 1976. The city plunged in huge debt which took years to recover, but left beauties as this place, which for sure is worth to visit, especially if you have kids. You'll appreciate various ecosystems. It's a pleasant place to go!

Wonderful, simply wonderful. Cafeteria has great healthy choices. Nearly all the animals are on full display and they seemed to be quite active. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We found that it took us about two hours to go through with lots of time taking photos and trying to pick out all the birds and animals in each environment. You can tell that a lot of time and effort went into the renovation to make each environment as realistic a habitat as possible. I particularly was wowed (and surprised) by the tunnel constructed of real ice. I would definitely come back and go through this again, I am glad my wife made sure to get us tickets during our tike in Montreal.

A very popular attraction so it pays to go early, especially on weekends. It's smaller than I expected and you can easily speed through in less than an hour if you don't savour the moment. Lots of variety in the regions with some good animals. There's also a cool learning area at the very top of the building.

An awesome experience. Friendly help from workers. Various animals. Tropical creatures are exciting and lots of fish species. A must see spot for wild life lovers. Fun place for kids to hang out and for animal knowledge.

Such a great visit and had the run of the place. Super clean and very considerate and friendly knowledgable staff. Very accommodating when visiting other family of museum sites. Such a great experience with the four domains, different climate, and animals insects and fish! Would highly recommend!

Great experience for us 💙 The architecture was so incredible and unique. And we love the minimalist interior design here! So nothing to complain about the building. However, we hope that if the animals could be more diverse. It only took us one hour to go through Biodome, with over half an hour looking at the penguins. They were the most interesting here. Overall, Biodome is worth visiting at least once in MTL. A little bit disappointed but really cool! 💙💙🦜🐿🐒🌿💫

Awesome experience for all ages! I’m from Rhode Island in the US and $22 per person is a really good deal. You get to see a good amount of animals in the tropical forest, but my favorite section was definitely seeing the penguins in the arctic environment. The structure from the outside is visibly appealing with a cool view of the Olympic Tower. The staff was very friendly and the metro station is a short walk from just outside the grounds.

Exciting and fun experience observing wildlife in their habitats, even for adults and not just kids. I went there on weekend we didn’t had to wait at the entrance for tickets but may be because of the Christmas season. There were decent number of people inside. You get to enjoy different habitats. It’s not very huge. You can easily cover within an hour of time even when you would stop at each species for some time. The ticket is $23 approx but they have student discount and can get for $16. They have paid parking space. But the parking cost is $25 which is a bit absurd. But still would recommend visiting this place.

One of the best place to visit. I loved it. They have four different type of eco system for different animal needs. It was fun. I’ve never seen penguins in my life and it was really fun seeing them there. Overall it’s a great place to visit with kids and family. Loved it 🤩.

September 2023 5* Visited the place with my little one and they really liked it. We visited on Saturday morning but you can buy ticket on site. It will take around 60-90 minutes to see the full area. The biodome has 4 areas to show 5 different ecosystem in North America. You can see animals, birds, fishes and penguins. You will need to walk inside the place so it is better to take strollers for little one. All area are interconnected. Washrooms are located outside. There is good food court near the exit. The food was fresh and delicious. You can also buy items from gift shop.

It is very hard to describe what it's like today. It has been freshened up but it has less of everything. They have to repopulate the biodome. If you've never been there (and have kids), then yes, it is nice. Nice elevators, bathrooms, nursing area for moms, and new jellyfish tank. However, those of us who had visited the Biodome since 2001, are somewhat disappointed. There are less fish in the aquarium, less penguins, less birds, you name it. There used to be a basement area with insects and self discovery things for kids. Also, a huge souvenir area with good prices. I saw a lot of wasted space on the top floor. Now, the best part were the 3 lynxes. I have mixed feelings...because I used to love going there. Maybe I had higher expectations.

Fun experience observing wildlife in their natural habitats. We spent two hours watching a variety of wildlife. Animals were active and seemed healthy. Staff was friendly. Not crowded but plenty of visitors on a Tuesday morning. Parking at $25 is absurd. A family of four admission was $68. If not for the high cost, it would be 5 stars.

Great for indoor activity in Montreal. I haven't seen 80% of the animals in the Biodome and it brought me back to being a kid. 😊 make sure to book your tickets ahead prior to going. If you wanna take a chance and book there, go earlier in the day just to be safe. I guess it depends on the season too but the first time we went after Christmas, we were there around 2pm and all slots were full. Basically sold out for the day. Great for kids and family and even just friends! Lots to see, lots to learn. I immensely enjoyed the penguins and the fish 😍

Definitely worth to visit! I spent 2 hours for my first time visiting, and my favourite is the Antarctic lands where you can watch the penguins. Forest is the largest and you could find some surprises on the tree is you are really patient over there. I like the idea where the new Biodôme is coming from and would highly recommend!

Go see the renovated Biodome. It's quite different from before with new surprises and an interactive section for kids upstairs where you can view all the biospheres from above. The nursing room is between the Biodome and the planetarium - worth knowing 🙂🙂

Who doesn’t love seeing animals. The biodome is location in Montreal’s east end right beside the ever expensive and rarely work it Montreal Olympic stadium (not bitter at all) Here you will find different ecosystems and the animas that call that area home. It’s both educational and fun. During the pandemic its mandatory to book a time slots. Accessible by car, bus and metro (subway)

Great escape from the Montreal cold. Amazing to see essentially a zoo take such great care to make proper environments for the animals! Felt like I was on a nature walk than an indoor zoo. Just be careful walking into the jungle biome in full winter gear! The humidity caught me by surprise! Also caught a raccoon feeding. Very cute.

Went over the weekend and had a great time. They did a great job with the renovations! Each section had its own climate so that it felt like you were travelling to different places, from the heat of the safari to the cold of the polar regions. As always, I loved seeing the penguins the most! The place as a whole has stunning architecture and design too, it’s phenomenal to walk through. I removed one point because I didn’t like their new self-guide system. Instead of having descriptions and pictures on the walls, it’s an interactive experience where you have to use the app and the physical guide they give you doesn’t have info, just images. I would have loved to have learned more about the animals and their regions without having to download an app.

Parking was easy but you have to pay for it. Some ongoing construction work outside which is quite noisy. The place was really crowded for a Monday morning but I enjoyed my visit. It is clean and there are some very fascinating animals there and my favorite...the penguins 🐧. There were snakes 🐍, monkeys 🐒, parrots 🦜, fishes 🐟 and lots more. Children are allowed, food and drinks allowed too. There are enough picnic tables outside, eateries/fast food, there are lots of places to eat inside also. The giftshop has souvenirs too. I recommend a visit.

Tickets were pricey for what you actually get to see. My spouse and I went on Thursday and it just seemed very rundown. We were so excited to finally go, I bought tickets in advance because 2 years ago we wanted to go and it was sold out for days at a time. Very few animals, one exhibit was just raccoons. Staff were somewhat knowledgeable.

A must visit if you love nature. A beautifully transformed place from an Olympic stadium. It has 5 different sections replicating different environment, to make it suitable for the species living inside. Kids would just love this place.

Nice way to spend a few hours with the family especially if it's crazy hot outside. You get to see and learn about nature and animals for each ecosystem and you can take your time enjoying it. Well done and maintained, facilities are clean and has easy to follow paths. Certain areas can get crowded and people or kids get a bit pushy but otherwise an enjoyable time.

The Montreal Biodome is a cool place to visit. It's great to see different kinds of places from nature all under one roof. But, it gets really busy. So, it's a good idea to book your ticket online or get there early. Walking through it feels like a quick trip around the world. But sometimes, it gets a bit crowded with folks stopping a lot to take pictures, which can slow you down. So, if you don't mind waiting a bit and plan ahead for tickets, you're in for a good time. The Biodome is a fun way to spend a day, learning and seeing new things, even if it gets a bit crowded.

Wow this place is great. You can truly spend a good amount of time here. We got the passport which allows you to go to the other places like the botanical garden & planetarium, etc. It's good for a whole year! A family of 5 (2 adults & 3 children) was such a deal. Will be back to explore the garden in the summer.

So many animals! They have very spacious and comfortable enclosures.I admired them for giving the animals good living conditions unlike other zoos and ecotourism museums . The environments they replicated were very accurate and showed people how we should protect our environment.

Loved how different places were close to each other, parked it once and covered Biodome, planetarium and sports center. Unfortunately the Olympics park tour is closed till Sept 2024.. Maybe next time. Biodome itself was nice, different habitat for different animals.. Small but worthed.. Other places, not sure if I'd pay for the ticket again.

Great experience to discover Canadian nature, especially with kids. Just a small note that there are time slots allocated to the tickets so if you buy from the venue you might not enter right away- best to buy and book tickets in advance. I would say the ticket prices are reasonable, considering all the effort to maintain the facility. Each section has its own environment to best suit the animals and plants (temperature, humidity etc.) which makes it feel like a sanctuary.

In the context of the COVID-19, I feel like a couple of things need to be addressed. 1) between every ecosystem there is a metallic curtain on the door which every guest has no choice but to swim into to go through. They should be removed temporarily in favor of something hands-free. 2) All the signs were removed in favor of the phone app... Absolutely NO ONE knew about it. I kept hearing people complain they had no idea what they were looking at, and the reviews on here confirm what I'm saying. Please tell the staff at the entrance to inform guests of the app! P. S. the app is unusuable on Huawei phones. 3) It still felt a bit too crowded, keeping 2m distance was impossible in some areas. I think too many people are being let in per time slot, or people are coming early/staying longer (which by the way no one is checking.) 4) Why are you offering tickets at 5:30 if the tour is supposed to take 90 minutes?

Such an underwhelming experience and an absolute waste of money - $21 for visitors outside Montreal is a lot. If not for the cute beaver or the macaws, I might have just walked out. The exhibits looks nothing but empty. Especially the sea exhibits. They could definitely do much better than this. Worst of all, there was no information near each exhibit in the venue. We later learned about the app we could download to learn about each species in the exhibit. Wouldn’t recommend this place!

after long time renewal is finally ready..I spent a great time with my 6 years son. online ticketing due to covid visit is limited. book online and choose the day and hour availables. the only thing I didn't like was it's become interactive for descriptions you will have to use your phone for explanation of animals and plants....me I prefer old style with info panels near to each species. not too long tour either......

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately, I am disappointed with the result of the renovations. The mezzanine is a very nice addition. However, animals are absent and the digital shift with the obligation to read information on the mobile application is less practical. Always trying to find the information on such animal or such vegetation. Strange to go to the Biodôme to finally spend all my time on my cellphone ... The central atrium with the white walls up to the roof could benefit from a beautiful mural to beautify the place.

A fun place for people of all ages to visit! The animals are a delight to see and the exhibits are beautiful all year round! For those with children who require a changing station, beware that you may have to go a bit out of your way just to find one as not all restrooms have a changing station. The food court only serves vegetarian and vegan foodstuffs. As one who is not usually the biggest fan of these kinds of food, I found them quite tasty and would definitely recommend them.

Very impressive building with 4 completely different biomes for the animals. However, one can easily see everything within one hour and many of the enclosures seem a bit small for the animals. For example the lynx and the raccoon were always walking on a fixed route around their enclosures which did not seem natural or healthy. Similar behaviour could be seen with the penguins. I expected more for the 23 CAD entry fee. Kids will have fun there though.

Especially good if you're with kids or high. As an adult it doesn't take long to go through (about 1-2 hours max) and hence becomes not so worth it. Guides along the way point out information which is cool. Definitely look up the schedule in advance and buy tickets in advance so you're able to enter at the time slot you desire - they limit it so it doesn't get too overcrowded. Construction June 2023 makes it hard to get to the entrance

Great way to spend a rainy day. Sort of a cross between a botanical garden and a zoo. The Biodôme is an indoor experience that has multiple mini ecosystems - from polar Arctic environment to the humid tropics. Experience includes a restaurant and gift shop. Accessibility friendly, and close to public transportation.

22.75 dollars to see the cute nature inside. The best indoor place to enjoy if the weather isn’t good outside. When i went, it was rainy and we parked the car in underground parking and enjoyed the lil zoo type atmosphere inside. It takes u to various continents. My favourite was the South American. I saw piranhas, anacondas and poisonous frogs and many more. Artic area where you get to see penguins and seals.

A decent nature center in a box. Good place for children to learn about the different environments that species on this planet live. The tropics environment is well presented and illustrated with some finesse. The st Lawrence and maple forest does a good job showing both fauna and animals of the area. Others need work. All areas need improvement in presentation, as many animals were placed behind the cages without any information about their habitats and where they came from.... Parking is so confusing. There is no signs to show where to go from the parking lot. Staff could be more helpful in directing people where to go. The ticket scanners should do a better job in admitting people to the park. It is no excuses making people waiting to get in the park if they already purchased the tickets..... Food options are limited. The gift shop is bare with so many high priced items. Over all, this place offers a good outlet for the children and families. Too bad, it is poorly managed. It is one of the worse managed venue in Montreal.

Before really thinking on buying tickets, I thought this would be another typical museum. But then my family already bought them. So I went anyways. But!! Looking at the building physically from the parking lot really brought good impression! The area is clean (well maintained), building itself look pristine! Going in, the inside part of the building is so clean as you can see from the pictures. I always check the washroom first (don’t know why). They even have a sink in the disable stall! They have nursing room for mothers, and lockers (maybe for their workers). Another thing that I thought/expected was the scent! Boy did this museum blew my mild! NO BAD ODOUR! Even though it’s indoor! I love the freezer area as well! Penguins we’re awesome! Altogether, I am glad my family of 11 went to see the place! I am glad this facility is helping animals who can’t go back to the wild. Keep it up! Hope to see this place again! I’m from Vancouver!

Such a great experience and fun for all ages. You walk through 3 different ecosystems and see all the animals and how they fit into their ecosystem. There are staff members available throughout to assist with questions or to share some more information with you if you’d like to hear. The trails are mostly accessible aside from 2 aerial walkways that have stairs and no ramps or elevators. But you can see these areas from down below so it does not take away from your experience. There is a vegan restaurant in the food court that sells delicious food, snacks and drinks to replenish you after the walk. And the gift shop is one of my favourite places. I want to buy everything in there. They have such a great selection of toys and gifts. An absolute must see if you’re in Montreal!

Certainly! I had an incredible experience at the Montreal Biodome! This place is a true gem for nature enthusiasts and families alike. The variety of ecosystems under one roof is astounding, from the lush rainforest to the icy tundra. The attention to detail in recreating these habitats is impressive, and it feels like you're truly stepping into different parts of the world. I was captivated by the diverse wildlife, and it's a fantastic educational opportunity for all ages. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate, always ready to answer questions and share interesting facts. The Biodome also offers engaging activities for kids, making it a perfect family outing. Don't forget to visit the penguin enclosure – it's a unique and heartwarming experience. Overall, the Montreal Biodome is a must-visit attraction that combines fun and learning. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Montreal. It's a memorable journey through the wonders of our planet's ecosystems.

The attention to detail in recreating these natural habitats is truly remarkable. From the lush rainforest to the icy Arctic, every exhibit is beautifully designed and meticulously maintained. The diversity of plant and animal species is astounding, and I learned so much about our planet’s incredible biodiversity. It would have been nice to have some information about the animals in the exhibit without having to ask a staff member though, maybe having it posted on the walls. What makes the Biodome even more special is the educational aspect. The staff members are passionate and knowledgeable, eager to share their insights and answer questions. It’s a fantastic place for people of all ages to learn about the importance of conservation and environmental stewardship. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the penguin exhibit. Watching these adorable creatures waddle and swim was a delight, and it’s an experience I won’t forget. Whether you’re a nature lover, a family with kids, or simply looking for a unique and educational outing, the Montreal Biodome is an absolute must-visit. I can’t wait to return and explore these incredible ecosystems all over again. This place deserves every one of its five stars!

It's was a nice activity with the kids they really enjoyed the days. A good 1 hour will be enough to visit everything. The price is pretty decent. Will definitely recommend 👍🏻

What a fantastic experience. So glad we came here with the kids during our montreal visit, nothing like this in Toronto. We saw penguins and the different environments (tropical, maple forest, arctic) that have been replicated to showcase the true habitats of these creatures is just remarkable. Commit atleast 90 minutes (we spent 3 hours including snack time) to the visit and there's enough walking to get the kids tired so do bring lunch or snacks.

Went for the first time in many years, was very disappointed. Very little of each animal, 1 very scared and unhealthy looking lynx, and they let in way too many people, could barely move.

Really nice changes since the renovation. The mezzanine area is great, and it's always nice to see happy animals, since zoos are usually too sad for us to enjoy. The update to the penguin area is very nice, but prepared to be cold in there!

(Translated by Google) I haven't been back since the famous renovations began, but the Biodôme is definitely a great attraction, regardless of the season. For me, the warmth of the tropical forest is a balm for the winter. In the Laurentian forest, no change of scenery possible! And the estuary of the river, phew, you have to live it! The Olympic stadium site offers all the parking you want! (Original) Je n'y suis pas retourné depuis le début des fameuses rénovations, mais définitivement, le Biodôme est un bel attraction, peu importe les saisons. What a chance we went there before it closed again due to covid19! Absolutely loved it with children 8 and 3! Very genuine and animals are happy and chill! You can tell that they are bring well taken care of and staffs are so proud of their animal friends. We saw raccoons fighting each other, a seastar that looked like having a hangover, a stake playing with ducks! Seriousely, I Feel I was with National Geographics crew!

The biodome is a fun place, especially with youngish kids (12y old or less). Some of the animals are very fun to see, and the environments while not that big (nor that small either) are very well organised. The 2 year long renovations are very dissapointing;. There is a very cool ice wall in the polar section (it's very cool, but other than cool to look at, it just makes the room colder) and a very nice mezzanine that, unfortunately, doesn't actually let you see the animals more... Still a good place to go to every 3-5 years....

(Translated by Google) I find it a shame to have to revise my rating ... We couldn't wait to go back after the renovations but were disappointed to find that the visit seemed to last less than before. One of the reasons that perhaps explains the fact that we made the tour in about half an hour only seems to be the lack of description sheets. Admittedly, there is an application that can be downloaded and which gives information on the animals that are found there, but I find it unfortunate to have to take out my phone throughout the visit, whereas if there is one thing that I like about this type of activity is that it normally allows you to "drop out" from digital. Only positive points: the staff, as well as the renovations which are beautiful and modern! Absolutely no measures are in place for social distancing. No route is pre-established, so it's free for all. Everyone's out in front of the paddocks, and I haven't heard any staff raising awareness, except for a small place with interactive stations. Yes, the addition of the footbridge is very interesting for the tropical wetland but of no interest for the boreal zone. I wish they had added animals to it instead of showing me the top of a maple tree. As for health measures, a real disaster; no indication for the direction of the visit which makes that many are against the current in the corridors and it is not to mention the number of times that I asked the other visitors to settle down a little to let us pass! Not very thrilled, luckily the entry price was reasonable ... I will unfortunately not be going back unless we introduce several new tenants! EV parking available, I missed it, near the beginning of the parking. A little cumbersome outside directions and inside directions. This place is booked to capacity every day, book a few days in advance during summer months. Go have fun and learn.

Lots of fun! It’s amazing how they can fit four such very different biomes into one place. Go during the week - it felt like we had the entire place to ourself. So many animals to see. My favorite was the aquarium section. So many beautiful fish! It felt almost unreal to be able to see them swim so up close. It felt like you could touch them. The staff was friendly and you are able to go at your own pace. Definitely recommend this place!

The place was fun and exciting! It was a unique experience because of the different regions you’ll go through, and the best part is that they are trying to give you the full experience by making sure that you’ll have different temperatures in each section according to their natural habitat's climate. So when you get into Labrador to see the penguins you’ll feel cold, and when you go to the Humid regions to see the birds and monkeys you’ll feel extremely hot I suggest you to wear a t-shirt and a jacket for the different temperature you have to go through The service was amazing, guides everywhere, the receptionist was helpful Overall we spent like 2 hours and we enjoyed it

The place has awesome architecture. Historic from the olímpico point of view. Full of children having fun. For me the highlight of this place is the ecosystems built in this place, the animals and species are very limited, it would be great to innovate in animal sight seeing via AR or something else. Sometimes is sad to see captive animals out of their habitat. Penguins were really funny though

We decided to take the metro there. We knew the parking was 25$ so might as well skip on the extra expenses and spend it on something cool at the gift shop. For 22$ it was worth it. Took a little over an hour to see everything if you take your time and don’t rush it. A bunch of pictures later and a puzzle at the gift shop concluded our visit there. All in all I’d recommend this place.

Took our 3&5 year old grand kids. We all had a great time. The planetarium was great too(youngest had a great nap while we enjoyed the show). What a great way to reuse the Olympic sites. We look forward to another trip when we have time to visit the insect, butterfly, and Biosphere sites that are part of the full Life Science package. (Traffic in the area is a challenge it seems all day so prepare for that)

Beautiful place to go with kids or even adults. I was there with my nephews and it was wonderful. I had to see different creatures and it was big. I would totally recommend if you planning on going with children.

You really only need 30 minutes to do the entire thing but it is neat to see the different animals. Wish there were more signs indicating the animal you are looking at though, would've loved to know the species. Other than that, a neat spot to go, and I'm sure it is great for kids especially.

Very cool place. It's kind of like a zoo. They have separate areas, each with its own enclosure that mimics a different climate (i.e., rainforest, artic) of which you walk through and experience. Each area has animals fit for it. I wish they had a few more animals to see, but it was nice to see the enclosures were in no way over crowded. I took an Uber over to avoid paying for parking. The entrance fee was reasonable. Would recommend.

This is a fantastic science museum, with or without kids. I went with my family with kids 10 and 8 and everyone really enjoyed the experience. There are several different biomes to explore, each with their own unique animals to see. In most instances, you can see them up close. The facilities are clean and appear to be well maintained, and though some areas are more popular than others, with more people crowded around, I always felt that there was sufficient space to move around and get a decent view. You're given a pamphlet to help you navigate through the different biomes, or you can also download the app if you'd prefer to go paperless. There are a few activities and videos to watch, which are pretty interesting, but not many. Bathrooms were clean and accessible. Great place for a half day!

Where the garden has an abundance of plants, the Biodôme has a plethora of animals (and plants)! So much fun especially for children, but even as an adult: getting to see a river otter + a penguin + a tropical capybara all under one roof (and right after one another) was nothing short of amazing. Lots of stuff to learn, tons of cool animals and well-designed exhibits/environments to house them all. Definitely worth 1.5-2h, but not as long as the garden (imo) just due to the total length of trail. Download the app beforehand to get info on educational talks at certain exhibits, as well as PENGUIN FEEDING TIME which is as adorable as you’re imagining. I’d highly recommend for the whole family or any subdivision thereof

Great place to visit with or without kids. It's usually a pretty busy place, so prepare for that. We went during the week in the daytime. Would recommend using public transportation. We loved it!

Visited Biodome in summer. Ticketing is quick and smooth but since they are famous for school visit it is recommended to buy in advance via web or ticket machine in the receptionist area to avoid queue. Visit to 5 areas available will probably last you 1hour top. Special price available for student or under 17yo.

This is a must visit for anyone in the MTL area. If you have kids or you are interested in, animals, plants, and the earth in general you should visit. Took our toddler here and he absolutely loved seeing all the animals. We did the biodome experience only but there are numerous things to see and do there. It does get expensive if you want to do the various sections but doing one thing at a time is very manageable

Amazing experience. A bit short but overall lovely. Would highly recommend to purchase tickets in advance if you don't want to wait 2-3 hours in line.

The biodome was SO much fun. My husband and I remember going in middle school, so we were really excited to take our little girl. It definitely has a strong smell, but that's expected with so many animals. The exhibits were great, with lots of space to view the animals, even when it was crowded. I'd recommend going on a day when kids are in school, though! It should also be noted that if you go through the Olympic Park, it isn't wheelchair accessible.

Small, but worth the price. If you are coming in from a hot day, the polar exhibit will help you cool off. Make sure to save it until the end if you plan to visit the tropical exhibit too though. Animals get sleepy in the afternoon and close to closing time, which is to be expected, but be aware if you are planning multiple activities in one day.

Very nice place. The line to the tickets went by very quickly so no need to buy in advance. The white/futuristic aesthetic which led into each exhibit was very nice. Tons of animals and great for kids and adults of all ages.

Always a good time here! It's an exciting place to take your kids and loved ones to explore and learn about wildlife that live in different habitats. You'll enjoy each zone with many chances to learn about all the wildlife present. It can get very crowded here so be sure to go early or on a weekday. Weekends get hectic. The Penguins are very friendly here and will come swim to you to say hello!

Fun experience. A bit small but it was quite amazing to see some animals : bats, beautiful snakes, sloth, lynx,penguins...still not sure why there was a raccoon there( I can see them for free anytime in the city)

Great place to visit for children to build curiosity around nature's animals in different simulated habitats from around the world. Not the first time i visit so i was a bit disappointed in that there were less animals than before renovations and the overall space and theme felt a bit more cramped or designed to create continuous flow. Not sure where all the learning elements were here, or they were not easily highlighted. Maybe i missed it. I vaguely remember there being an auditorium for learning, etc.

Not worth the expense! If you have never been to an aquarium , go. It's very neat the different rooms and levels but if you've seen something like this , I'd skip and go to the biosphere! They don't have animals but it's so bizarre and priced correctly , you gotta see it.

The Biodome in Montreal is a unique attraction that offers a fascinating indoor nature exhibit. Originally built as a cycling stadium for the 1976 Olympic Games, the building underwent renovations in 1989 and opened its doors as the Biodome in 1992. It has transformed into a haven for wildlife and plant species. Unlike a traditional zoo or botanical garden, the Biodome provides a distinctive experience. It houses an impressive collection of 2,500 animals from around 200 different species, along with over 800 plant species. However, it's important to note that you won't see all 2,500 animals individually. The count includes various types of fish, which may have been included to reach that number. Visiting the Biodome is a worthwhile experience for individuals of all ages. While it may not live up to the dramatic descriptions found on their website, it still offers a memorable and enjoyable outing. If you find yourself in Montreal, I would recommend adding the Biodome to your list of places to visit.

We had a wonderful experience here. The animals were wonderful and active, and the staff were friendly and informative. Even the reminder email was accurate and organized - it told me where the best parking lot to use was, and advised me of local events that may cause traffic on my way in. Absolutely stellar.

We really enjoyed it. They have 4 rooms with different climates, resembling various animals. One of the rooms is very cold, around 5 degrees Celsius, so I recommend bringing a jacket 😄 The price for tourists is reasonable; we paid 46 for 2 adults on a weekday.

An ideal destination catering to families, kids, and nature enthusiasts alike. This location offers an encompassing experience of four distinct geographical regions, providing insight into their unique ecosystems. Weekdays are recommended for a more enjoyable visit due to weekend crowds. Take your time to fully appreciate each station, some of which offer an immersive underwater aquarium experience adding an extra layer of wonder to your experience. Without a doubt, your decision to embark on this journey will be one that you'll cherish without regrets.

Good learning experience for small (6months-12 yr old )kids … plus good indoor activity during a hot summer day .An Olympic stadium transformed into a natural habitat to depict the ecosystems with few animals. But if you hv been to an aquarium or a zoo then you will be disappointed. Not a lot of animals to see. However, the three levels to see and experience it from ground level up to the top was cool . Takes 1.5-2.5 hours max . Do pick up map from entrance to hv a better understanding of the exhibits. Not worth the money 💵!!

Excellent place to bring the kids. However although they implemented the number of people per hour, I don’t think they actually follow through cuz it was super crowded. Since the kids are not as tall as adults, they could not see as much. Strongly suggest to buy your tickets online first, the queue for tickets counter was long and slow, (Use the tickets machines, way faster.)

If you like zoos, this is a cool place to check out. Good variation of animals, kinda small. More for children but as a traveller the whole park has a lot of stuff to see. If you're in the area already for other things, it's a good place to stop

This was a nice relaxing journey. We started in the Tropical zone. We saw alligators, monkeys, macaws, and various other critters. We followed with Sub-Tropical to get cool, and the penguins & puffins were awesome. We finished in the Labrador Coast - the underwater views were awesome - and the sturgeon were huge! Highly recommended for families.

Well I had heard so many great things about this place I wanted to stop. Having been to places like the Boston Aquarium and The San Diego Zoo several times I guess I’m hard to impress. I honestly believe it wouldn’t take much to make this experience so much better. They need to work on their “interactive experience”, given there is almost no staff for the public. This is one of 5 venues at the location. I really hope to check the other locations out on future visits. If you don’t have a lot of zoo experience I believe you’d really enjoy it especially with children. Adults without children can easily navigate this spot in about 60 minutes.

It is amazing how this place is maintained that almost everything is real. Although not as big as a zoo but a family could surely enjoy this. All animals here are not found on granby zoo so it is not redundant and boring. There is a self checkout kiosk so you dont need to wait in line. Gift shop and cafeteria is also inside. Penguins are so cute!!!!

  • 5/5 Joudy 6 months ago on Google
A lot of very interesting species to see here! It’s also very big and wasn’t too busy (was a saturday). Make sure to buy your tickets online to avoid waiting in line. I’d say it took us around 45 minutes to see all the animals. Although we didn’t see the sloth cause he was hiding very well🤭

The biodome was a beautiful and pleasant experience. We loved seeing the animals in a simulated habitat, the beautiful architecture, and the penguin feedings. It’s a lovely place to take children as well. Try to go at off-peak times as it got a little crowded.

This was a really cool experience. I didn't really realize what it was until we got there. It was cool to go into the different climates and get to see the different environments. My favorite was the tropics for sure. Pretty reasonably priced too.

Second time here. It was much more crowded than the first time we came during the pandemic as it’s holiday season. Still find it as nice place to revisit especially if you are into tropical plants and animals. Look up passport Montreal to save on admission as I see other reviews complained about the price. Downside of using the passport Montreal is you have to wait in line at the counter to exchange tickets otherwise they have multiple kiosks with no wait.

Amazing experience getting to see so many animals in their natural habitats! They treat them very well. I recommend as a fun family day trip 👍

The biodome is divided into tropical, marine, polar and subtropical exhibits. Based on my photos, it is obvious that the penguin exhibit was the best. I would personally recommend taking the metro, instead driving. The parking was confusing. It felt like we were walking forever. It takes about 90 minutes to get through all 4 exhibits.

The place is informative for kids . You can cover everything in 2 hrs. Around 18 $ for single adult.I was in queue and got the ticket in 10 mins on a weekend The bio machine section on second floor helps gain some information. The locations is also walkable from metro station. Overall a different experience and loved it .There is also a planetarium Where you can get inside without tickets but you need to have tickets to watch the shows running inside
