We decided to choose this tour operator because it had received such good reviews. Lorenzo did not disappoint. At the beginning of the trip, he used the map to go through the timeline of Barcelona's development from the early days. It's great to see how the city develops guided by people's needs. Walking through the city, you wouldn't think that the environment is in its current state, in some cases as the result of tens of years of planning and construction. At the moment, the trend is to reduce the city's air quality and noise and to increase biodiversity, for example in the form of superblocks. Politics sometimes causes delays in development, but climate change will probably force an agreement on these issues, and the people and the bees will be grateful. I highly recommend this trip.

Thanks for the great tours! We spent a wonderful architecture trip in Barcelona. Many thanks to Steffi for the excellent support on site and to Lorenzo for the perfect preparation and coordination in advance of the trip.

Our first visit to Barcelona and we immediately realized the city is one with many complex layers, beyond Gaudi, each needing exploration. When we connected with Lorenzo we asked just that. What we got was an amazing three hour tour explaining the history of the City from the Romans to Franco, and the architecture this history represented. We realized three hours was not enough so scheduled a second day to learn about the city’s current, adaptive reuse of great old industrial buildings into museums, universities, markets. If you go nowhere else, have Lorenzo show you the secret university library built in an old water tower! It’s mind blowing. Lorenzo is passionate about Barcelona and it’s built environment through history. He is charming and gracious. We will always come back to Barcelona, and will always make more time to spend with Lorenzo.

On Friday, April 21, we enjoyed a bike tour with a group of 10 architects, all from the Netherlands. Our guide Lorenzo was our guide, he passionately told us more about the whole urban history of Barcelona in an inspiring way. Highly recommended, to get to know the city of Barcelona from a different side in a sporty way.

The guided tour that we had was truly excellent. The tour not only gave us a good understanding of the historic development of Barcelona in terms of wider planning issues but facilitated our specific interest 'Hi Tech' architecture and complex architectural arrangements - form, function and buildability. Our guide (Lorenzo) was extremely knowledgeable and talked authoritatively on a range of aspects of architectural design practice - importantly he set a relaxed tone and was humorous which was welcomed by the students and created a good learning environment. This was the perfect end to our university trip to Barcelona. Cheers Lorenzo! Very much appreciated. :)

We had a fantastic experience planning a corporate program with GA Barcelona. Right from the get-go, they were responsive, accommodating and very professional. They helped plan and execute just the right corporate program for us. Our guide, Ana, also went above and beyond and was just amazing!!! Highly recommended.

Lorenzo was very amazing and knowledgeable! It was so wonderful to have a fellow architect bring us to two of Barcelona's most iconic works. Would highly recommend him and GA Barcelona to anyone who's looking for a different guided experience.

Lorenzo from “Guiding Architects” is one in a million. The depth of his knowledge of Barcelona Architecture is amazing. My husband, Rocky, owner of Rockefeller Kempel architects, was continually impressed the entire day. He’s also just a great guy (said me, Rocky’s wife ☺️). We also got to visit his favorite secret restaurant… Locals only. We are sworn to secrecy. Thank you Lorenzo for the perfect day. Cheers, Amy and Rocky Rockefeller

We have really enjoyed our tour with excellent professional guides Patricia and Ana. It was also a pleasure to deal with absolutely reliable management. Our group of 31 person had to postpone the trip for 2 years due to Covid. In 2020, when all arrangements were done, we had unfortunately to cancel it. But thanks to Lorenzo, and his consent, we had a chance to enjoy it after all in 2022.

The tour with Lorenzo was a real highlight of our trip to Barcelona. I was particularly impressed with how he engaged our children, aged 10 and 12, and encouraged them to see the city through a new lens. His detailed professional knowledge, his passion for the city and for sharing an architect’s perspective on its history and development were evident. I thoroughly recommend this tour.

I cannot recommend Lorenzo K enough. He took a group of relatively clueless visitors (myself included) on a tour of the Gothic quarter. When we left we all felt we'd absorbed so much about the history of this amazing city through Lorenzo's animated and amusing story telling, deep knowledge of Barcelona's incredible past, and patient answers to our questions. He's clearly passionate about what he does. Our tour was a definite highlight of my time in Barcelona.

Lorenzo gave me and my girlfriend (herself an architect) a very thorough and immersive experience into both the distant and recent history of Barcelona's architecture. It was fascinating! He began with a notebook of large photos and maps of the city's layout at various stages of its existence, which gave the critical insight that the city's present structure is the result of numerous unpredictable results from various plans--some enacted, and others not--throughout the years. He then asked which areas and/or buildings most interested us for an in-person tour, and we picked three specific sites, based on our interests and his feedback. We picked the Barcelona Pavilion, the Caixa Forum, and the University library. In each case, Lorenzo's knowledge of the history seemed limitless, and his ability to weave that history into a compelling narrative with respect to what we saw as we explored the site in person was what made this tour so enjoyable and memorable. A very fun and fascinating tour it was!

The tour my wife and I went on with Lorenzo of Guiding Architects Barcelona was pleasant and very educational. There is a reason Barcelona has some of the finest architecture in the world and he will clearly explain the history and key people who built the city. I highly recommend booking as many hours with him as you can afford. Lorenzo is a professional, he is personable, and he is generous with recommendations for places in the city to visit and restaurants to eat at.

An experience beyond the touristic circuit, GA Barcelona tour is like a crash course into the history of this great European city which went through an architectural metamorphosis along the centuries, more over in the past 30 years. An insight that only a passionate architect like Lorenzo could transmit. I recommend it truly and fully.

We were in Barcelona with a group of engineers, smart city experts, digitalization officers, regional development officers and a city administration and had a city tour with Lorenzo Karasz. He impressed us with his expertise, knowledge and passion for Barcelona. We could have discussed architecture, urban and neighborhood development, irrigation, environmental and energy aspects and even politics with him for hours. Thank you very much Lorenzo!

The tour lasted 3 hours - but the time flew by. We could have continued for a long time, the background and connections that Lorenzo Karasz gave us were so exciting! We learned to understand Barcelona!
