We had a great meal, the chocos and bacalhau. It was so tasty, the staff was really nice and they even gave us a shot each and a teddy bear! Will be coming back

We passed by this little family run restaurant during the day and made a reservation for the evening. It was a great decision. I would always recommend that place in Cascais. It’s a bit away from the main tourist area, but still in old town. The food was delicious. At the end you get a small picture for your memories, a digestive and the bill 😉 (which shows fair prices)

I wouldn't call this restaurant underrated because it isn't, more overlooked which is a shame. This restaurant has some of the best seafood I have ever tasted! The salmon literally melted in my mouth and the service was very friendly and attentive. Definitely visit this place for dinner when you're near Lisbon, compared to other restaurants in the area this place is more secluded and private. The prices are also very reasonable and the chocolate molten lava cake we had for desert was superb! Don't miss it!

I understand why this restaurant is highly rated! We had a wonderful experience. You will definitely see/meet the woman owner. She cares deeply about the food and your experience. We started with a Covert with her home-made tuna spread. I’m not a huge tuna fan, but it was outstanding. My husband ordered the Octopus and thought it was very good. I order a green salad - it was huge and with a creamy-type dressing (unusual for Portugal). I probably could have just had that and been very happy, but I also ordered the Garlic Shrimp. 6 large shrimp and French fries in an amazing garlic sauce. I think there might have also had Paprika. After the meal, they brought a bottle of very good Porto, a bottle of Almond liquor and 2 shot glasses and said we could help ourselves to as much as we wanted free of charge. Then a small chocolate! The entire experience was great. Make reservations especially on Mondays.

Words cannot describe the feeling I had eating here. Food fantastic, get the house steak. Service impeccable, staff was so friendly and funny. And they go above and beyond, offering free Porto and liquor at the end of your meal when paying the bill. Recommend to anyone coming to caiscais.

The back streets of Cascais are loaded with cozy authentic fresh seafood restaurants. We ended up in A Nova Estrella upon my daughters request. What an excellent find. A small restaurant with limited seating. We had to wait for about 20 minutes to get a table. The proud owner, Rosa took care of us personally with a smile and warm service. The food portions were larger than usual and pricing was very moderate. The grilled garlic Octopus with roasted potatoes was amazing. Fresh, succulent and delicately grilled. The Cod was equally fresh and succulent. Rosa offered us Almond liquor and Port on the house as we were too full to try the tempting desserts. Would love to try the other seafood items when we come back to Cascais. A must try!!!

We had a hard time finding a nice Portuguese restaurant in Cascais, especially inbetween all the international cuisines and sushi places. So happy that we found this one! The octopus was fresh and delicious! Very good quality and prices, and super friendly staff. The Polaroid picture we got as a memory was a nice touch, and so was the digestive for desert. Highly recommended!

(Translated by Google) We have been dining there. We got closer there thanks to the reviews here. It was a success. We ordered octopus, sea bass and cod. Everything was great. For dessert, a cheese cake that was also very tasty. It would only put 2 perfectly solvable bugs. The first beer. Portugal has a great beer, it is not necessary to sell Estrella Damm, which is Spanish. The second fault is the fries with the sea bass. They were frozen and it's a shame they weren't homemade, they would be much better. Anyway I congratulate them for their kindness and treatment. The owner was a charm all evening.

Traditional Portuguese restaurant, which is relatively hard to find in Cascais. The ambiance is far from the best, but the highlights here are the service and the food (including the desert). The white house wine is also very good. Recommended!

Everything in this restaurant was perfect. The food was amazing but the hosts were even better ❣️ They took care of us like no one before! At the end, as a gift we got two sweets and a Polaroid picture which they took when our food arrived. We even got two drinks on house. I fully recommend this place if you want to feel like at home, appreciated and of course if you want to eat delicious sea food. 🦑🐙🐟

Service and food A+. A lovely lady (I believe she could be the owner) served us and made the whole experience awesome. She was kind and really gave us good suggestions. We started off with a warm soup, followed by grilled octopus with potatoes. It was delicious! For the price and quality it is excellent. Plus a bonus of polaroid photo for memories!

I believe a simple review cannot even touch my experience in this amazing place. Foods are cooked with passion seasonings and serve with pure love. They know what exactly do. They offered an amazing wine and chocolate after food for free and gave me unforgettable printed photo of me.

Lovely place Lovely people Amazing food. The price will obviously depend on what you decide to have. The octopus was really good but the cod was just amazing. Can't wait going there again just for the cod. The waiters were all very nice, polite and professionals. They even offer you a small picture of yourself that you will find with your receipt.

Service: the service was 10/10, everyone was super friendly and super accommodating as we were with a little one. They had baby cutlery and gave him a free ice cream for dessert. They also give you a free instax photo for you to keep. They gave us local wine to drink and a box of goodies with your bill. Food: I had the octopus 🐙 and it was so yummy! I highly recommend it!!

Terrific food, service, and atmosphere. As a tourist, it was super helpful that they were outright with prices of the appetizers, the menu was clearly priced and labeled, and there were no surprise charges. This was wonderful, especially since our experience is that other restaurants in tourist areas are not always like this. The food and drinks were some of our favorite from the whole trip!

The dishes were big and tasty, all fresh food and good prices. We didn't try the desserts but they looked handmade and delicious. They also had a big variety of wines. The service was great, they offered us two different liquors after the food and the waiter took a Polaroid pic and gave it to us with the bill. It was a lovely detail to remember such a nice moment of our trip.

My friends and I went to Cascais as part of an excursion on October 19, 2023. We wanted to go to eat at this restaurant because of the excellent reviews. It is a small place with attentive staff as well as its owner Rosa. Chloe attended us, very good and attentive. We start with some legume soups, exquisite! Salads, gratin cod, octopus, sea bass. All the food was delicious. The desserts, on another level: vanilla custard, cheesecake with red fruits. Above all, the attention and warmth of its owner and her employees. Prices are according to the area.

Straightforward Portuguese food done well and with care. My roast cod was simple and all the better for it. Packed a real garlic punch, and the parsley went perfectly with the fish. The kids were very happy with their pork steaks, and they got free mini cornettos at the end of the meal. Good, economical vino branco. Not the most chi chi place in Cascais but all the better for it. A side street gem, we had lunch here before heading to the airport, and it put a big smile on our face for the journey home, with a great vibe of Portugal.

Great spot! We walked in at about 7p and they initially said they were all reserved, but were able to make a spot for us outside. Very friendly staff. We had the fish sticks for the kid, curry shrimp for the husband and I had the Dorado fish special. All delicious! As noted in other reviews the small touches are what make this place special, a Polaroid photo, and a free aperitif and chocolate with the check. The food is good the service and way they make you feel, fabulous!

They serve amazing food and you can taste the TLC, authentic and passionate grandma cooking through the food. This cod pie was the BEST dish we had during our entire trip. Restaurant A Nova Estela was an excellent choice! We arrived just after the break time and were fortunate to find a table. It was almost fully booked within 10 minutes. The restaurant has a charming interior with various clocks adorning one side of the wall, each showing the time in different parts of the world. It was a unique and captivating touch. They even offer to take instant photos with a camera when your food arrives, which added to the memorable experience. Both the owner and the server were incredibly kind and welcoming. When we requested the bill, they presented it in a cute lemon-shaped container and also offered us an incredibly sweet cherry liqueur as a parting gift. Speaking of the food, it was absolutely delicious! The menu offered a great variety, and the freshness of the ingredients really stood out. We ordered a home-made style authentic Portuguese fish (Sea Bream) and a Bacalhou com Broa with a small white wine. The dishes, especially those paired with the white wine, were fantastic. Overall, A Nova Estela is a restaurant filled with great food, friendly service, and a beautiful atmosphere. I look forward to my next visit and will definitely recommend it to more friends!

(Translated by Google) FarAway98134 1 Review pending A NOVA ESTRELA certainly 5 stars and more! After a long day we arrived in Cascais hungry as a bear. With attention to detail, the restaurant catches your eye from afar and you like to take your place on the small terrace. Received by the boss personally you feel at home from the first minute. Whether in Portuguese, Spanish or English, she patiently explains the menu and is happy to give recommendations. Very authentic with her personal approach and friendliness, she creates a special atmosphere. Drinks and food are excellent and have a very good price-performance ratio. To top it off, there is a bottle of port or almond liqueur on the table after the meal and you serve yourself. A Polaroid is shot from each guest if desired, which can be taken home as a nice souvenir in the box with the bill. Unfortunately we were only in Cascais for one night otherwise we would certainly have become regular customers.

Good quality, homemade food. In the desserts they invited us to typical shots of the area, leaving the bottles on the table, so that we could try three of them. As a detail, the owner took a photo of us during the meal, with a "Polaroid-type" camera, which she gave us when we asked for the bill. Totally recommendable (Original) Bar apartado de la zona mas turística de Cascais, sin salir del centro, al que merece la pena ir, tanto por la comida, como por el trato personal. (Translated by Google) Very good food. It's worth ordering a dessert. Nice service and atmosphere. An interesting idea with taking a souvenir photo of the guests during the meal. Heavy traffic. It is worth booking a place in advance. It's a pity that this move sometimes makes you forget about the client. We waited a bit for the bill and, like others, did not get refreshments at the end. :( (Original) Bardzo dobre jedzenie. Warto zamówić deser. Miła obsługa i atmosfera. :(

This restaurant is a hidden little gem for which my vocabulary is insufficient to express gratitude for discovering. The host was warm and welcoming from the moment we stepped in. Grilled fish of the day was delicious! Very fresh and preserving the delicate flavor. We tried tuna paste for starters, with bread which exuded home-made flavours. Sangria was amazing in itself. And the place atmosphere was very warm and welcoming, with lots of delicate and carefully chosen, yet homely decorations on the walls. A very enjoyable and palatable visit. Looking forward to trying again.

Nice small Portuguese restaurant near the old city of Cascais. A way from the noisy roads. The beef stake I ordered was nice and juicy. We also had a portion of fish and chips that came with a generous portion of home sauce. Easy recommendation

A very special little restaurant. My wife and I went on a Friday night without a reservation, but we opted to wait and were able to get a table rather quickly, which was lucky since the place was full. From the start, it was a good experience. The waiter was friendly and, in addition to his native Portuguese, was able to speak both Spanish and English with us (my wife's a native Spanish speaker, I'm a native English speaker). We got started with some delicious, well-seasoned vegetable soup, and drank some wine. We knew that in Cascais, the best bet would be fish, so we both ordered Dorado, one of the daily specials. It came in an unpretentious presentation, but it was extremely fresh and flavorful. There were a lot of little nice touches that made this place so much better than just any run-of-the-mill fish place you might find here. After the meal, the owner offered us some dessert wines from Portugal to taste at no additional cost (she just left the bottles on the table - we could've gone crazy, but we're not big drinkers). Then, when they presented the check, they included a great little polaroid the owner had snapped of us when we first got our drinks. The food was enough to warrant a 5-star review, but these little touches really make it extra worth seeking out. It's not located on one of the principal stretches of restaurants in Cascais, but it's easily worth the little bit of extra walking. It's also worth mentioning that the prices are more than fair. Everything we got felt like a good value. Highly recommended!
