I would choose this place over a hotel any day. I walked in feeling like I walked into someone's beautiful home and at the same time, it has everything you would want that you get at a hotel. The room has hairdryer, modern bathroom and everything you need. I was traveling for a conference and was actually sad not to be able to spend more time "at home" while there. The kitchen was great as extra grateful for the coffee I was able to get even with it being outside of the breakfast hours. I would definitely stay again and would say that if your looking for a charming experience that is way beyond a hotel stay, than Shanti Niketan is worth the trip on it's own.

Love it . We stayed here for my honeymoon/birthday..it was so nice. Fatima. And Sofia was so nice welcoming and helpful. We will stay there any time we go Portugal. Only wish we could afford to bring all 9 of our children to meet them. They made us feel that at home. X x

Great guest house. Old world charm, Friendly an helpful staff plus the owner was very friendly and accommodating. Many steps up the the house, a handrail would be useful if you have mobility problems. Good safe private parking. 5 minutes walk to the railway station and promenade

Outstanding B&B in a converted family home. Had a really comfortable bed. Sofia (the owner) is an incredibly welcoming host, and I'd heartily recommend staying here.
