Pingo Doce Portimão - Recomar

Hypermarket

👍 Not sure was it because of Friday, being 1st of the month or 20 o'clock but the lines to cashiers were unbelievable. Although there was 6 cash registers open, we literally waited in line for 15 min. Other than that it's quite standard Pingo Doce. Seems to have good quality and wide variety. People often mention good,

They could do with a good scrubbing of the car park floor and often. Bring your skates so that you don't have to walk on it!

Cafe line had a huge wait. 5 mins to serve 1 customer. Clearly they weren't interested in having more than 1 employee work the cafe. We left without buying anything. Parking is a disaster as customers fail at parking their cars inside the spots properly.

Worst cafeteria service ever. Ended up leaving the soup which was lukewarm to start with and would have been stone cold by the time it was checked out. Clearly not enough staff and insufficient training as those on duty were not coping.

Never seen such soul-destroying lines at checkout. No queuing system and a wait if 10 minutes to get to cash-desk. Security man allowed a woman to argue loudly with another for 10 minutes. Worst Pingo Doce experience ever. Self- checkout needed urgently if this supermarket chain is going to compete with the others. Wake up! It is 2022 not still 1990.

Theis is a grocery store and it also has a cafeteria that has Pizza and pasta to order as well as a grill thathas meat and fish. It also has rotating local dishes that are quite tasty. I like it because I can see what is available before I choose. Prices are good i just paid €5.99 for a meal with a soda and a water. May not be the first place to try but if your going to be in Portimão for a while it's is definitely worth trying out.....and they have a cafe too. :)

Whoa. Food was terrible. Just terrible. Good prices, yes, but still, I won’t be eating there again. There was one lady that served the food and was nice but the other that worked with her was definitely not. She could tell I didn’t speak that much Portuguese and she kept on speaking really really fast looking annoyed when I simply asked for a fork.. To eat my food.. Not cool.

Quite simply the worst shop in the city. It constantly always amazes me why people shop here. The quality of food is average at best. I will admit that the staff are ALWAYS very friendly but they all deserve a medal for working there. They are chronically understaffed and the queues are always so long and slow. The card-only till is seldom open and other members of staff float around whilst scored of empty check-outs lay dormant. A case in point: I once went to the check-out 2 minutes before closing and instead of getting everyone out as fast as they could, they closed all but one of the check-outs. Half of the queue walked out as the queue was so long. I feel for the really nice people who work there. Better organisation behind the scenes would make a world of difference.

Good selection of items, and naturally better prices compared to smaller shops in Carvoeiro where we were staying.

Good if your visiting and just want some quick essentials but if you want a bigger selection of bigger brands go to the Continente

Cheap and cheerful restaurant with good quality food. £7.5 euros a head with wine!

Good super market. Good space, air conditioning. The only problem that I see is the parking. The parking is very narrow and it's dangerous for the cars. But it's free and good option because at the street is always full.

Great lunch choices (grilled sardines with a bottle of white wine in a super market, who would have thought!), very cheap prices. Don’t overlook supermarkets when travelling, they often have amazing and cheap food!!!

Do our shopping here as we are at the Marina in Portimão. I love the Cafe here which had many choices of buns. And l love that you can actually buy a hot lunch with many options. Oddly, the security guard didn't like me taking photos and made me delete some.

😠 Despite all the people recomending this place for good grocery shopping while saving money, this place was a total disapointment in all areas. Extremly dirty, chaotic, the staff is unfriendly and it is in no way cheaper than other discounters or even supermarkets. This was the first and last time we...
