This place is a hidden gem. We tried out 2 sharable plates. I'd even take a gander and say that all their plates are intended to be shared. This made it easy to try out a little bit of everything. The items had so much flavor! Only thing i would say, is that if you like your food spicy, let them know. The spicy dishes may be prepped not so spicy to cater to a broader pallette for people. They have a good flavorful selection for vegetarians, although I'm not sure if their veggie dishes are vegan, so check yourself.

Fabulous restaurant with friendly service! The food was delicious and perfectly presented. The smoothies with layered mango, avocado, and strawberry didn’t last long in front of the kids! The coffee ceremony was a wonderful treat to finish off the dinner! We will most certainly be back - what a wonderful, family-friendly experience with fabulous food and a fun, laid-back atmosphere.

Excellent & authentic Ethiopian food & good prices too. Large portions gave us good amount of leftovers to enjoy later at home. Definitely will go back in the future.

First time at this place and won’t be the last. We enjoyed the Vegetarian Platter for two (plus there were leftovers), the Ethiopian videos and decor, and the family run atmosphere filled with warmth.

Food and service were great and even with a big group, we didn’t have to wait for a table. Try the Honey Wine if you’re open to new flavors.

This is hands down the best take out food presentation I've had since the pandemic started. Really lovely and everything tastes as good as it looks! I'll be back!

Absolutely fantastic food!! This was my first time trying Ethiopian food and it was superb. They are a small little family owned restaurant so give them time to prep the food. We didn't know it but they are the #1 Ethiopian restaurant in the US and #1 for all yelp restaurants in the top 50 in the SGV. We got the GS platter that had chicken, beef, beets, veggies, injera, and etc. I've never ate anything remotely similar to this. This place is 100% underrated and I will be back to try more!

1st time trying this place and the food was savory. One platter has enough to feed two people, so come hungry! I ordered the beef and veggie platter, I liked how the plate had little sides so it’s like you get a sampler of everything. It comes with injera bread you use that to scoop up your food. The injera bread is soft and spongy and soaks up all the flavor in the food. The prices were good and the service is great. I would definitely recommend this place if you want some legit Ethiopian food.

Great Ethiopian restaurant. Parking available in lot. Atmosphere is nice and clean. Service is great 👍 friendly staff. Food is delicious 😋 a bit on the oily side compared to other ethiopian places but still amazing. The price and portions are great ! Bring a friend and try the combo platter. Get the tej (delicious honey wine) or coffee too!

Oh my goodness… AMAZING!!! absolutely delicious food and great staff. First time trying Ethiopian food and the only thing I can complain about is that I have not tried this before. We shared the veggie and meat platter. Perfect for two people! I will be coming back

You don’t need to go all the way to Fairfax to eat Ethiopian! This place is so good! We’ve dined in as well as done take out. Both great choices. The most recent time we visited, we got the vegetarian platter to go. When we were almost done, my husband jested, “should I hop on my scooter and get another one” cuz we demolished it in minutes. We were so stuffed I didn’t eat dinner.

I’ve been coming to eat here for years, it’s one of my favorite restaurants ever. I recently celebrated my birthday and placed a larger order for pickup to serve to my guests. Nate and his family were so helpful and packaged everything perfectly. Many of my guests had never tried Ethiopian food and every single person loved it, it was delicious as always and I was so happy to share it with my friends. Thank you GS family!!!

AMAZING Food, AMAZING Service, and AMAZING Authentic Ethiopian Food. Family Owned and Operated, all are super kind and humble. So much respect for the son Nate, who is young but works so hard serving and helping everyone. Great guy! Food is well priced esp for the amount of food provided and you never feel unsatisfied after eating. It's such a nice chill vibe in there. Also, my wife bought 2 beautiful scarves. Moral of the story though, this place is a staple that needs to be supported and preserved.

Good taste and service but super oily. They said they use a lot of canola oil because it’s vegan but I’ve been to other Ethiopian spots that aren’t nearly this oily or greasy and they also make vegan food. It’s not that enjoyable when there’s puddles of grease on your plate and coating your hands. If they made it less oily and maybe used a higher quality oil like grape seed oil this place would be better.

Soooooooo good! Wow! The hands down best Ethiopian I’ve ever had. Fantastic service, chefs and everything. Clean and well priced. A local, family run business that makes absolutely delicious food. What more could you ask for?

This is some of the best food I've ever had, and I'm the kind of person who will save up money to pay for fancy Michelin star dining every now and then. It is *that* good. It is absolutely the best Ethiopian food I've ever had, and I have made a point to try out every Ethiopian joint in any place I've lived or visited for a long time.

Man! Man! Man! You need to checkout this place! The portions first of all are on the generous side! The flavors are literally a festival in the mouth. The tea is unbelievably flavorful! The customer service is top notch! My first time in this place and I recommend it to all who want to travel to the authentic Ethiopian experience that will leave you pleasantly surprised and happy about your decision to dine in at the GS Ethiopian restaurant! I’m writing this review after my meal and I’m not even blotted! I’m going to be a return customer! Nate and his Mom are very calm, peaceful and welcoming people! Take my word for it, you won’t regret visiting this place! I’ll be back. Nate you are the Man! Keep up the good work. I’m bringing friends!!!

I love Ethiopian food. I not only love the food here, I'm in love with the food here. I hate beets but tried them here and I was so pleased, I order beets with every meal. I'm in West Africa at the moment where I find really great food but there's no comparison to GS Cafe. When I return to the US, I will stop in on the way home.

They were so good! We got their combination platter of 8 veggie options and the 1 meat option and everything was delicious. The young man at the front serving us was very friendly. The honey wine and coffee was great as well.
