The food and atmosphere transported me back to the deep south for lunch one afternoon. The food was picturesque perfect and true to Southern cuisine. However, they Make sure to pay attention to California cuisine and only offer chicken or turkey sausage. No beef or pork here. Which is refreshing. Norwood and his staff took amazing care of us. Now, we need to make sure we get some Hop Valley and Miller Lite in here to truly make this a New Orleans experience. I will be back and bring friends.

From the moment you step into Darrows you will feel a sense of community. The staff is extremely warm and personable. I immediately spotted the cornbread but up close and personal it's warm, moist and drizzled with syrup. The owner took my order and he was amazing; such a genuine spirit. I ordered the file gumbo, fried oysters and greens. The gumbo was filled with shrimp, crab legs and sausage. I would definitely recommend and will absolutely visit again.

A real New Orleans spot, the owner is there serving and explaining the menu. Super clean Gorgeous spot, great parking, food is clean, tasty and good size portions. Awesome spot for a great meal. Do yourself a favor and give this place a chance. 10 of 10 on my scale.

Just picked up some restaurant quality Gumbo. Delish, I’d go here again, when craving. I would not waste my time with Facebook “chefs”. My husband said,” Wasn’t my wife’s gumbo.” I liked it cause, I didn’t have to cook it. It was a treat!!😋😋

We have been coming here since he opened. The food has always been very consistent and delicious. Also, let's not forget the delicious and addicting Rum Punch. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

I really enjoyed the hospitality! The place was clean and smelled so welcoming. The food was fresh, piping hot and so delicious. I also purchased food for my staff and they swore to take their family there to eat as well. Thanks for the amazing experience @darrowsneworleansgrill

Stopped by for a quick dinner over the weekend and as usual the gumbo and the catfish supper were fantastic. Norwood and the rest of his team were great and can’t wait to stop by again.

They accommodated my request for the shrimp and catfish to be grilled, not fried. They were juicy and just right. Incredibly crispy, homemade corn bread. Great service too.

This place is awesome! I tried a few different plates and they were all good. There are a lot of Cajun and Creole options on their menu. The atmosphere is awesome - decorations, music, and energy. The staff was helpful and kind. Location is big and clean. They also have a full service bar. I will definitely come back when I'm in the area.

In town first time in. Food was very tasty but lukewarm. Only thing that was hot was catfish. Jambalaya rice was a couple days old. SMH. Would probably try again if food is fresh and hot. The girl had gloves on touching everything including cash then sanitizing them. Why not just change them out ugh.

Darrow's is always great. The staff is very welcoming and make you feel like family every time you come. The food is great, we've had the gumbo, red beans, potato salad, cajun fries, and the shrimp & catfish and they were all delicious. The prices are a little higher than other locations, but you will not be disappointed with the quality of food you get. This place is definitely a regular dinner stop for us.

I have only ordered takeout from this fine establishment a couple of times, but every time I've come in, the staff makes me want to dine in! They are all so friendly and charismatic that it feels like I'm conversing with my own kin folk! I feel so welcomed and, dare I say it, safe. The food is absolutely delicious! I highly recommend the fried shrimp po'boy - the bread is soft and perfectly grilled, and the dressing is not overdone (mayo, lettuce, pickles). The gumbo and jambalaya are so tasty too, and I love that they aren't stingy with the chicken and sausage! Needless to say, I'll be coming back!

We were super excited by the greeting we received at this restaurant so hospitable the beautiful young lady greeted us with example of the rue from gumbo, For us being 1st timers, We ordered the fish plate with the bean balaya. The fish was on point and the fish was so moist and tasteful and melted in your mouth. My cousin had the gumbo and we all had different fish plates with different sides. We got to meet the owner he was super cool. WE LOVED THIS SPOT AND FOOD ❤️ Such GREAT HOSPITALITY ❤️❤️❤️

This place is amazing. The customer service is outstanding. The food is awesome. Try the red beans and rice, to die for. The fish and shrimp combo has put me in a food coma. The bayou greens, oh my. I was so greedy I took home some gumbo. Please patronize this establishment. The right place in the right area, serving outstanding food.

Food was horrible. I had the catfish and shrimp. No Flavor or seasoning. Overpriced food for small portions. Also My fries were soggy, they were supposed to be “Cajun” they just sprinkled Cajun seasoning at the top of it. The French bread is dry. My colleagues also were disappointed. Rice and beans were disgusting as well as the greens. I never make reviews but after paying $25 with tip for my meal I’m highly upset.

If you’re looking for exceptional hospitality and good old-fashioned down home cooking, get in the car and stop at Avalon and Carson in the beautiful city of Carson, CA. My nephew and I had collard greens and catfish, and he had red beans and rice. My sister had gumbo. Our food was delicious and what’s more it was fresh and not salty. I also had a bowl of my favorite dessert — peach cobbler. So good and not too sweet. From what I can see, all the customers are treated like they are special. Darrow introduces the customers to each other. Now how cool is that. 😁💝

Really nice owners, workers, and very good fresh food with a homemade quality. Atmosphere on the inside is amazing and for sure I will return one last time before I go to bootcamp!
