While my son had a great time, I must admit that the facility was smaller than I expected it to be. We have been to many children's museums around the world and this is the smallest one we've seen. There wasn't much to do, but the items they do have such as the fire truck and the rescue airplane will have your little ones' attention for at least 30 minutes. I arrived between 1300-1600 so it wasn't a load of people which I liked, however, once it was closer to 3 the kids started rolling in and it just felt a little clustered. We ended up leaving around this time, but the day was a success regardless because my son had a smile on his face. I would recommend a visit if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way if I wasn't.

We visited July 7th and was surprised that most of the attractions were out of service or “coming soon”. We paid $14 for one child and one adult for 2 hours but you can’t stay more than one hour since most of the things are not accessible. Overpriced for a small place especially when you can’t enjoy most of the things.

This place is great. My kids and I enjoyed it a lot. And I’m so grateful they actually honored the “time slot” rule. We printed out tickets off before arriving and we were able to walk right in. It was great. It was nice to use their free locker so I didn’t have to carry my diaper bag around the whole time. We came during spring break and will definitely return!!

Disappointed. Was really excited when I heard they were relocating. I assumed it would be bigger and have more to do. They are still under construction, but I don't see it getting that much bigger. I've been to several other great museums in San Francisco and San Diego that were at least 3 times the size of this one. I really wanted to finally have a good one in LA close to home. Unfortunately it seems to be even smaller than the original place and now you have to factor in time and cost of parking. Our 2 and 4 yr old still had a decent time there. They did however keep wandering from 1 end to the other as if they were expecting more to do as well. About 1 hour in, my 2 year old would only stay at a station for no longer than 1 minute, she was already bored of the place. For the cost, I would expect my kids to be entertained for at least 2 hours. We typically stayed at the ones in SF and SD for at least 4 hours and that's only because the adults were tired and ready to go home while the kids still wanted to continue.

My twin boys under the age of 1 had a blast! I I love how they have a special area for 2 and under. While my visit I noticed the staff is very friendly and they talk to you with respect! Even the people that scan your personal item right in the entrance! I also notice on my visit that a team member is in it when the bigger kids entered the area for the smaller babies ! She nicely guided them out of that area !

Beautiful indoor children’s museum! As others have said it’s free for LA residents, please leave a donation if you can! It’s a pretty good space to spend 2 hours and very clean! I needed to nurse my 5 month old and I was directed to a nursing room! I love that, very accommodating. The area was very clean even the changing table! We’ll definitely be back :) oh and their isn’t a eating area. Lots of tables outside with a food court. Their is a parking structure

Amazing is the only word I can describe this place!!! If you have a toddler, this place is 1000 times better than Disneyland! They have all the creative and fun things for kids to play with. There are so many kids that they almost instantly become friends! And workers here are amazingly friendly. KID FRIENDLY! Definitely check this place out. Both parents and kids can have SO MUCH FUN❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Friendly star, place is clean, place is easy to find. I like that they have a room for arts and crafts. I love that even i can enjoy the Giant climbing net. I was able to climb with my toddler[I'm his nanny] and he was so happy and excited to have crossed it. He enjoys the playmart and I like it because we practice naming and counting the items. He loves the fire truck. We try to go weekly and it's a fun and pleasant place for us to be.

A wonderful LA spot to visit with your toddlers. The museum is gorgeous, well thought out and with plenty of activities to keep your kids busy and happy for a few hours. Our daughter loved every minute. Thanks for creating such a marvelous educational museum for kids!

My daughter (18 month old) had a great time here on Sunday morning. If you go as soon as they open (10:00am) you should be fine as it gets very busy later on. It was a fun experience for her however you need to be aware that this place is not very safe for young toddlers. Many parents leave their older kids unattended and they may end up pushing/harming younger toddlers while they run or play. You need to be very careful and stay with your toddler at all times as staff doesn’t enforce safety policies. It would be ideal if the museum blocks specific hours for each age group as it can get dangerous to mix 15month old kids with 7 years old. Overall it was a positive experience but the energy to constantly try and keep a safe zone for my daughter can be exhausting!

This museum was really cool, and there were a lot of fun things for kids to do. I’m also glad that LA residents get in for free. However, a few thoughts: 1) What makes it a museum and not just a play place? 2) It’s somewhat small, and if it’s busy, it feels overwhelmed by screaming children. This was concerning because…well, we’re still in a pandemic! Most people weren’t wearing masks and it was very close quarters at times. 3) It didn’t feel overly clean. Granted this must be hard to do in a children’s museum, but is any effort made? Hard to tell. 4) I have toddlers. Trying to navigate them around bigger, faster, rambunctious children was a bit stressful. There should be more dedicated spaces for younger children. 5) The stroller parking at the front is beyond silly.

All I can say is, OMG! Instantaneous excitement and nonstop action. I was anticipating a great experience after being frequent visitors of the original Zimmer Museum in LA. I was not disappointed. I loved the customer service and cleanliness among chaos (the sand station, wind tunnel, and water areas were tolerable). The netted obstacle course above the ground was visually impressive. There is something for every type of child. There are crafts, water play, sensory play, calming nature projectors, a replica of a real helicopter and fire truck, snack lounge, child size market, magnetic wall, andddddd it's located in the Santa Monica Place. Great place to visit. I lost my parking ticket and someone turned it. Check out the Sorrell Kids on YouTube for more!

Small place but kids enjoy while they are there, the building has parking and it was free when i was there. Ticket is 7.5$ for each person. If you want to visit there almost 2-3 hours are enough. There is two snacks room and if you want to eat something you have to bring it with yourself.

Best place to take your kids! Spent 2 hours there and enjoyed every minute. The staff is super friendly. They have a fun water activity table which kids love & little stations throughout the entire place that are full of activities. They have a good size snack area so you can bring your own food. It is a very clean & organized. A good learning place to go. Highly recommend.

I loved this place! Amazing! It's hard finding places where both my children are capable of playing in. My oldest is 3 years old with Autism and has disabilities she wears braces and this place was amazing allowed her to play anywhere she liked. My 2 year old loved it was a very fun experience. Staff is amazing and very clean. I highly recommend!!!

A great place for kids 8 and under. My 10 year old had fun, but I could that he could tell that he's outgrown this kind of adventure! He loved it when he was younger and so will your younger ones. They pulled out a couple of the activity areas on the main floor, and I wish they would fix their wind tunnel. There are rooms where you can do arts and crafts, as well as rooms to hold a private birthday party.

Been coming here a little over a year. It's been great for my 3, now 4 y/o. Can easily spend two three hours here. The staff does a good job at keeping the place relatively clean and organized and it feels safe with a metal detector at the entrance and security.

Too crowded and noisy. No guidance from crew. No guidance/content from staff or through billboards. It's basically a high-end jungle gym, not a museum.

My kids ages 4.75 and 7 had a blast. Bring extra clothes as they have a water table. We went on a 50% discount because we have museum membership in northern California but if I lived in the area it would be worth the membership price. I dunno if I would pay on a per visit basis though.

Always an amazing experience the children love everything about the Zimmer museum and I do too! Covered parking, indoors in a secure building and has a lunch room. Go Zimmer!

It was great fun for my 3 year old. They are part of the museums for all program so EBT card holders can enter for free. Food is not sold inside and you are not allowed to leave your car in the lot to walk to a lunch spot, so pack food if you plan to stay awhile.

My girl liked it so much more than what we experienced previously. A big room filled with blue balls and various slides, swings, things to climb, and everything else to use up her almost unlimited energy supplies. She also liked the "grocery store" playroom and the kitchen playroom. There is a room where you can make your own railroads with all kinds of tracks and trains, a wonderful activity to involve the whole family.

This place is such a cool spot for kids to have some fun playing around with other kids or alone. Several stations with activities like a ball pit, a real life fire truck where kids can pretend they are fire fighters. An animal hospital, a helicopter with all the buttons and switches. There were art classes going on in different rooms and all the kids were welcome to join. Kids from 2 to 8 will love this place, so will the parents and babysitters.

It was cool, the kids had fun and we were out of there within an hour (the place is pretty small) but for the price you pay, you can't really complain. It was a bit confusing locating the place since it's actually inside another building but the parking attendant helped us out. They also have random art sessions so if you're interested in those, I'd call or check online to see the times they're available ☺️

This place was fun, but smaller than I expected. It is a great place for children start are under 10 years old, I think. However, it is a great place really promotes kids to use their imaginations and creativity to play.

Grandson had an excellent time there, totally geared towards kids. Just need to keep track of your children as always. Had a great experience watching him pick and choose what he wanted to do next. Thanks so much to Cayton Children's Museum for allowing a kid to be a kid.

Indoor playground experience that's named a museum. Nothing museumy about it. It's just a fun and safe place for kids to burn some energy....15bucks per kid and per adult gets u all day access if you're not members. Very nice.

This place is amazing!! I had no idea what to expect going into it and was pleasantly surprised. I took my young toddler and we had so much fun!!The museum is split up into different sections and has a ton of activities to keep them busy for a long time. We loved the grocery store, the fire truck, the helicopter and the water table. They also have a baby area for them to play in which is perfect for babies who still crawling or learning how to walk. The facility is clean, modern, specious and welcoming. The bathrooms are clean and the employees are very friendly. Parking is free for the first 90 minutes. The entrance the museum is currently free for LA county residents, but they do ask for a donation. I must say that their gift shop has some really great kids books! I'm a preschool teacher I'm always on a hunt for kids books. The lady at the gift shop told me she is constantly researching for unique, educational, interesting kids books. She picked and choose the books by herself. I bought 3 books and got a free T-shirt for my toddler. We will absolutely come again! Absolutely love this place.

This is a nice little spot to go to occasionally with your kids. There's a little enclosed spot for kids 2 and under, a lot to climb on and various activities and play structures. Great place to spend a few hours. Food and drinks are not allowed inside except for water bottles. There are vending machines with tables in front of them if you must eat.

Pretty great space to spend a couple of hours. It can get crowded and some parents bring their older children and allow them to run around unsupervised. So, you have 10 year olds running and jumping and throwing things within a group of 2-3 year olds and taking their toys without anyone teaching them to mind the little kids' safety. Someone is going to get hurt 🤷‍♂️

Hits the little kid sweet spot. Probably the best age would be Kindergarten, give or take. Great ropes/net climbing area with multiple routes rather than only 1 way with traffic jams. Most exhibits are spaced out, making it less overwhelming for parents and kids. Probably significantly better on a weekday versus a weekend, especially for a special needs kid. The staff were exceptional with my autistic, speech delayed, cognitive delayed son. They either have good training - or are just the best. They played with him in the blocks and talked to him easily.

Its a fun place to take your lil ones. They have different areas so they can play. They can also dress up to be a firefighter or a veterinarian. They also have rooms for arts and crafts. The best part is the big jungle gym that is mounted to the ceiling. You can see them crawl pretty much the whole area. If you have a lil lil one, 3 and younger, theirs a special play area for just them. The location is in the promenade on the second floor.

What a great place for kids to be kids. This place is great for little babies all the way up to 8th graders, it has a section for babies and toddlers to play separate from the older children. It’s educational and fun at the same time. They have this really cool ball pit too! It’s worth every penny and definitely worth the annual pass. I definitely recommend going to this place if you have kids.

  • 4/5 Ashley H. 6 years ago on Google
I love the place my 1 year old love it soo much she didnt want to leave. The reason i give it 4 stars is because the ball pit needs a little more control. My daughter loved everytging but that' because kids around 7 and 8 were jumping smashing to the ground in front of her. I even got sched she would get hurt.
