A castle hilltop that offers by far the best view of Verona. Excellent place to take breathtaking images sitting on the wall overlooking the whole city. Walk to the top is not too difficult. It get’s a bit steep here and there and takes about 20-30 min. There are fountains with drinkable water along the way. You can take a cable car if not in a mood for a small hike. There is a restaurant at the top and trees that provide shade if visiting this place in summer. Take your significant other and go make some magical photos here.

Best views of Verona....by far Walk up or take the funicular ( my recommendation). The views from the Castle San Pietro is superb. Walk around for different views of Verona. Tremendous Verona photo op from different angles . Restaurant at the funicular station. Restrooms available also. Pay for view telescopes at different points along the ramparts. The walk down can be steep at some points... not recommended for the handicapped or challenged walkers. Allow 1-2 hrs. Final take.,GO...

Beautiful place to visit and see the views of Verona. Would recommend coming even if you’re in Verona for a short amount of time. There’s even a funicular for those less able/lazy to get to the top

Best view of Verona😍 we took the stairs instead of the funicular, turns out the stairs are not so bad. We came there when it was almost sunset and it was really beautiful. One of the must go to places when you visit Verona!

The views are amazing, when it isn't foggy. But the Castel itself was not as explorable as we hoped. When we went, there was a modern art exhibit about the future of the world in the face of Climate Change, modern art just isn't my cup of tea and I felt it detracted from what could have been a great historical visit to the Castel. No charge to enter.

Definitely worth the long way by foot! You can enjoy a absolute breathtaking view over Verona alone or with your loved ones. Bring a bottle of wine or some snacks and it’s going to be a unique experience. Although it’s a crowded place during evenings when the sun is going down you’ll find a perfect spot for a photograph.

A walk to this "castle," more like an administrative building, offers wonderful views. Don't miss it! The little cafe at the top is perfect for a coffee or beer.

A breathtaking view from the top. You can see the whole city, highly recommend going to this place when it’s coming to sunset because it’s the best. You can buy ticket for a lift, climbing onto the top takes 15-20 minutes, it’s a little tiring but it’s worth it! Better bring some cocktail or snack to enjoy the view

A must see place in Verona hills that offers an amazing panoramic view of the city and the river! You can take the funicular to go up. There is also a small Cafe which we didn't visit but I saw people sitting there and soaking the sunlight.

Excellent view on Malaga from above. Nothing really to see inside and castle itself is very functional-looking. So best experience is the hike to the top through a beautiful park, completed with a gratifying view once apex is reached. There is a toilet inside the castle, so don't worry too much, but keep in mind that entrance is paid.

Excellent views of the city! The walk up has quite a few steps up winding paths but worth the effort.

Very underrated spot in verona. Great panoramic view, easy to walk up, or the funicular is only 2/3 euros per person.

Amazing hilltop view to the Verona old town. The stairs to the top is very beautiful. For accessibility, there is a track elevator goes frequently up and down. Payment is on site, card accepted.

Amazing views of Verona. Get there early as it can get busy up there. Furniculor was quick and easy (€2pp) but only opens at 10am. Definitely worth it.

Best views of Verona. You can walk up or get the funicular. Walking up isn’t that hard, unless it’s too hot- then it becomes a bit unpleasant. Must see!

Castel San Pietro is a historic fortress situated on a hilltop overlooking the beautiful city of Verona, Italy. The castle has a rich history dating back to the Roman Empire, and it is one of the most impressive and well-preserved fortifications in the region. The castle is easily accessible by foot or by taking a funicular from the city center, and the views from the top are simply breathtaking. Visitors can see the entire cityscape of Verona, including the picturesque Adige River and the stunning surrounding countryside. Once at the castle, visitors can explore the fortress's many towers and walls, as well as its stunning gardens and courtyards. The castle is also home to a museum that showcases the history of Verona, from its Roman roots to the modern day. The exhibits include artifacts, paintings, and other items that offer a fascinating glimpse into the city's past. One of the most impressive features of Castel San Pietro is the panoramic view from the top of the fortress. Visitors can take in breathtaking views of Verona and the surrounding area, and the vistas are particularly stunning at sunset when the sky is painted with hues of orange and pink. Overall, Castel San Pietro is a must-visit destination for anyone visiting Verona. The castle's rich history, stunning architecture, and breathtaking views make it an unforgettable experience that is sure to leave a lasting impression.

We took the stairs, which was a little exhausting in the heat. The view on top is amazing. You can see the river and the city. We didn't go inside. There is the option to take a lift for a few euros.

Beautiful view but you can not get into the castle. There is a trolly you can take but the stairs give you more of an experience. Walk up one set of stairs and walk down the other set and you will see some ruins.

Probably one of the most photogenic places in Verona. Like the bridge, it's more pretty to view it from the city center. However, the view from the top of the castle is amazing. It's definitely a must in Verona. There are stairs to walk up and also a funicular, costing 4 eur per person. Dogs welcome. The castle itself isn't open yet, probably due to covid, so technically you can walk up and see the view for free.

Amazing view from the city. Go for the sunset. We went with eletrical bikeverona but the way back, easier one was a bit dangerous, lots of cars, no separate bike lane as most places.

Fabulous place for sundowners. Make sure you arrive a bit early to get a good spot with a view. The bathroom queue was very long. The vernicular was not working when we went, but the walk ensures you have a good thirst for the delicious, well-priced Spritz. Avoid the melon one, it's terrible.

Great place to visit for a beautiful view over Verona city. You can bring your own drinks and snacks, there are also a few cafe at the top with a nice view. There's a funicular ( cable railway ) you can at up if you don't want to climb all the stairs, it's a short fun ride and a single ticket is €1.5

A stairway situated just right in front of Ponte Pietra, they lead up the hill to Castel San Pietro. The Funicolare di Verona is a super convenient option: it is 2.50 euro for a round trip. Apparently sunset is the best time to be here, we will have to return to experience this as many claimed that it is unforgettable. Personally, I preferred the view from Santuario della Madonna di Lourdes, it was higher and a lot less people.

Narrow-ish roads getting up here but worth the trip. Parking is limited inside but people park along the side of the road just outside the entrance Breathtaking views of Verona city and was nice, windy and cool. Good place to admire the view and chill out

It’s a walk up but good wide steps with some shady spots along the way. View from the top is great to see all of Verona.

When you reach the hill you get nice view over the town and river. Perfect to sit under tree and take a break.

The view is great but the castle and the surrounding is closed to publis. To me even looks abandoned and there is trash everyhere around Pitty.

For unparalleled views of Verona this is the place. The funicular railway is not expensive. Take your own water and food for a picnic with a view.

Beautiful place to watch the sunset. Be sure to arrive on time, otherwise the goods spots will be taken

This is a review of the grounds not the castle, which was inaccessible. I read that the views from the cartel or “Castel’ was the best way to see Verona, they most definitely were not wrong, from up here you get to experience the majesty of Verona from above, its absolutely incredible. Like something from a movie, I can see why so many are drawn to this beauty spot.
